A few friends of mine and I went here for a friends birthday dinner. We went for the early bird at 7pm and left at 9.00 extremely satisfied and happy. the food here is just excellent and the service is on the ball, perfectly timed. We were well looked after and never felt hassled to leave. At €20 for 3 courses you cannot go wrong here.

This is a lovely restauraunt, food is amazing but a little pricey I found. Starters were all beautiful and plentiful although we were waiting a very long time for our order to be taken and then waiting for our wine for ages. The staff were ok, not very apologetic on the time we had to wait to be served. I thought my korma was way too creamy and sent it back,I was told that is the way a korma is meant to be, but I have eaten in many indians and it is not a bowl of cream with chicken in it! She took it back and swapped it for something else which she did very rudely. not all staff were like this, there were very nice staff there also. I got monkfish instead and it was fabulous! I would return again as it had a nice ambience and we had a good evening.

We were in Kinara on a busy saturday night, it was our first time there and we cannot wait to go back! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxed and the food was fantastic. We had the crab claws and prawns to start and they were both delicious. Then we had the Makanwala Murghi and the Temater Aloo Gosht with garlic naan and both were outstanding. I would never have been a big lover of Pakistani/ Indian cuisine but I am fully converted! We would definately recommend Kinara to everybody.

Disaster of a nite,Waitress asumes that customer is not gonna have wine without asking, when we ask for chiller for wine she comes with few ice cubes in wine bucket for full bottle of wine.Fish Cakes were tasteless,Aloo tikki was still full of hard potatoes and to top shriveled cucumber on side, bingo. Mushroom bhaji was like cream of Mushroom soup,Dal 7 Chana sides were pounded with so many tomato chunks,Butter Naan were burnt,Attitude of staff-shocking-"Thats how we do it in Kinara".Owners have upgraded the decor, perhaps they shud have invested in food and service management and standards.Pathetic experience,Total waste of money.Disgrace

Have eaten here many times with friends after work. The early bird is fantastic value and I love that they vary the menu. The food is so authentic and the flavours are fantastic. Its not like your typical indian and I think most would be surprised. They also have a great selection of wine by the glass, the Glazebrook Newzealand Sauvignon Blanc is to die for. If you live locally and haven't ever been then you should visit. Couldn't fault it at all.

This restaurant has been fully refurbished to a high standard. They are alos creating a cockatail bar area in addition to the restaurant. The restaurant is on 3 floors, and offers a great viriety and high standard of Pakistani cusine. The service is excellent, attention to details. We love it!

We went there for Early bird for a minute thought they are closed but the guys working there said the restaurant is upstairs as they are refurbishing. Nice art at the stairs. We had kebab & prawn starter and lamb and prawns for our mains and dessert of the day. Thought there is not much choice but again 3course for €19.95 they had a good menu. Staff were very friendly heard a lot about Kinara lived up to expectations. Tried all there restaurants they are all good.

Decided that the only thing that could cheer us up after a long day in work was a trip to Kinara! Last minute booking but got a great table upstairs at a corner window. As per usual, we ordered the Lasooni Machali and Malai Tikka for starters. My boyfriend had the Jinga Biriyani for mains and I had a starter portion of malai tikka and a side order of aloo saag! It was delicious and we ate every bit of it. Really nice and thinking of a reason to come back already!

The food in Kinara was beautiful, almost as good as the seaview from the tables facing Dublin bay! The flavours were very good and at a table of 8 we all tasted everyones and they were all distinct. I had the lamb Champ and it was divine as was the Tilipa Fish disk... On their menu they don't give a spice inidicator which for the novice could be a risk (and is required I thought!) but we asked a lot of questions and everyone without exception was happy with their dish. On the minus side I though the Service was poor. We were waiting almost 90 mins between courses before we got our main course and in the end got them very promptly when we asked for them. It was infuriating because we could see a lot of orders going to the other diningroom upstairs and regulars being seated and served before us. I would go back because the quality was excellent but I was disappointed with the service and it was a Monday so could not be considered a peak time either. The atmosphere was therefore slighly dulled by this. Lastly it is a bit pricey but the quality of the food spoke for itself.

The early bird is such great value but word clearly gets around as it was pretty full even for a Monday! Luckily we got a great upstairs table by the window overlooking the bay. As for the food, the lamb koftas and fish cakes were great starters with the chicken masala, prawn curry and lamb bhuna equally tasty mains. The staff were great and organised hotter or milder dishes depending on what we wanted as well as frequently topping up of our glasses. A couple of mojitos and some nice coffees rounded off an excellent night.

Tried the early bird here recently as I had heard it was good value. Was very disappointed. No vegetarian option apart from a bland fried potato cake type dish for the starter. I occassionally eat fish so had the prawn tikka masalla for mains as there was no veg option. I'm not keen on overly creamy dishes, but granted this is my own personal taste. My boyfriend enjoyed his prawn starter which was spicy and flavoursome but again was disappointed with his chicken mains. Atmosphere is good downstairs but disappointing upstairs where we were seated. The red house wine was good value and enjoyable, but the waitress was unfriendly & made the mistake of all mistakes in my book and didn't bring back our change after we paid the bill! For this reason we did not tip & will not be returning.

Went to this place on Mother's Day with my four year old and husband. Was surprised at the drop in standards. We went for the set menu. The food was really greasy. The menu is not well thought out at all and all the components on the plate did not go together. The combination of greasy spicy chips, fish in masala and lemon rice (which was completely lost in the stronger flavours of the fish) was too heavy. We ordered some juice for my daughter which was served in a tall glass - totally impractical for a child. One of us adults had to hold the glass down for her to drink. Similarly with the ice cream - a tall glass with a long spoon. Surely, a bit of judgement is called for. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Excellent food, location and good value early bird. Staff, however, could benefit from some customer skills training, and tainted the dining experience, unfortunately. Perhaps the addition of some Indian/Desi staff, who generally understand the concept of customer service and courtesy. I would be hesitant to return or recommend based on the service.

We booked the early bird which was very great value. I wasn't sure if my youngest (10) or her fussy brother (14) would be up for food that was a little different. To my great surprise everything was reaaly nice, the room, seating, and each course was delicious. The service was superb too, anticipating anything we would like. Our four children enjoyed their food and the experience without exception. We cant wait to return.

Early Bird meal for two. Pakora and Champ Kandhari were both superb, it was good to see items on the starter list that were there because they cook them perfectly rather than being just cheap to make. Mains of Murghi Achari and Lamb Jalfrazi were both very good as was the rice and garlic naan. Probably would have liked the Jalfrazi to be hotter but that's just me. Part of the deal options is to skip the dessert and just take two courses for Eur15 a head (includes rices and plain naan). This is superb value for very high quality food. If you haven't been there yet, you are missing out!

The early bird here is great value. The food is very tasty and the service is excellent. The a la carte is quite expensive but the food and service make up for that. The early bird is worth going to the restaurant for. Recommend the Prawn starter.

Best ever Indian Indian restaurant in Dublin! Being honest, I was not a fan of Indian food but after I tried (thanks to my girlfriend!) I become a regular visitor to this restaurant! I love the tikka masala and the Naan bread - great!

I’d heard good things about this Indian restaurant and had passed it umpteen times so finally took the plunge and booked a Saturday night for me and my hubby. Was not disappointed, it was the best Indian food either of us had ever tasted. We shared the Monkfish starter (Lasooni Machali); it was lovely, very succulent chunks of fish with a mild spicy seasoning, a tasty little rocket salad, slices of mango, and a mint and coriander sauce on the side. For mains I had a medium spicy Prawn dish (Bhuna Jhinga), which was my second choice. My first choice was a mixed fish and meat dish but the waiter very helpfully advised that this was rather dry so I went with the Prawns instead, which was a great choice. Beautiful sauce with masses of obviously super-fresh vegetables. Hubby went for a lamb dish (Mirch Masala Gosht) which he was advised was the hottest on the menu – I don’t know about that as I had a couple of tastes and found it manageable enough, and I’m not one for the mega-hot dishes! It was really nice as well and again all the ingredients were really fresh, with tender lamb. We shared a dessert of Homemade Ice cream which had loads of nuts mixed in and a raspberry coulis – very nice. Overall had a great night and a really good meal, the only drawbacks I would mention is that the service is very slow (It was a very busy night though) and it might be a disappointing choice for fans of the super-hot curry. I’ll definitely be making a return visit though!

We arrived to a lovely warm welcome and ordered our food with much anticipation. Then my husband became ill and I requested with much trepidation that our food be prepared to go. I say with trepidation as before when we had asked to take home our left overs we were informed with much indignation that this was not a take away! The attitude has obviously changed as it was not a problem and the wine was corked up for us. An expensive takeaway, but delicious! Will hopefully get back soon for a proper meal.

Turned up on a chilly Thursday night, group of six, eagerly greeted by a frozen yet enthusiastic doorman. Service was very prompt and attentive, smallish restaraunt but the view is fantastic, lovely if the weather is good For starters,we sampled most of the dishes on offer, vegatarian was very tasty, Pakoras were crispy outside and fluffy inside and quite moorish but the Chicken was certainly the hero, cooked and spiced perfectly had everyone commenting on it. Lamb was really good, and all the sides are generous,my only grip was the Korma we had for mains was a little creamy and probably could have packed a little more punch, perhaps just our tastes Wine list is a little limited, but very drinkable. A very pleasant experience for all.

Nice restaurant with nice views if you get a window table. The early bird is good value because the food is a good standard but the al la carte menu is overpriced. Friendly staff make you feel welcome. Will be back again but only for special early bird

5 of us just had dinner in Kinara this evening. We went for the early bird, it is incredibly good value - the menu reads of 3 courses, starters included a chicken dish, a fish dish and potatoe pakoras, we tried them all and they were good. Poppudoms were brought with dips before starters, nice touch considering we had ordered from the Early Bird. Main course choices included a beef type curry, a chicken korma and a fish curry, there was no vegetarian option but there were plenty on the main menu. Main courses came served with pilau rice and naan bread and were all pleasant. We also had two beers, teas and coffees and ice cream came with the Early Bird and it was delicious it had carmelised nuts through it. The staff were all very pleasant and when the bill came we were all shocked, €126 - a steal - no wonder the place was packed! Well done Kinara!

Myself and the other half went for an early bird in Kinara on Tuesday evening. Usually if you are seated downstairs (which was far quieter), and given a lovely table by the window. The food is always good here, for starters we had fried prawns and tender lamb cutlets. Both were nice, though not as tasty as some other starter options we have had in the past. For mains we had chicken and prawns which were both very tasty. Poppadums, rice and naan bread are all included in the early bird price which is a bonus. Overall a great place for authentic Indian food and the early bird is great value. We will continue to come here.

absouloutly love this restaurant, but last time i was here,we didnt get great service, when wwe walked in our table wasnt ready, and it wasnt overly busy as it was a tues night,we did take a wile to decide as there is so many delicious options to choose from.when we got our food it was lovely but the monkfish starter which is divine but pricey at 12.50 was very little,i understand its a starter but with a lower price u cud justifie it.dessert wasntgreat wouldnt get any again, but what i was most dissapointed in was my mojito cocktail, i was sooooooooo looking forward to it as they are always gorge there, but this 1 was really watery could barely taste any bacardi,we also felt very rushed towards the end,i no it was a tues night and the waitress wanted to get home but we could feel her wishing us out of there, which is wrong when you have paid a couple of hundred euro for 4 on a tues night.but i would still recomend it as the food is top notch.

My husband and I went here for dinner to try the early bird menu. We'd been many times before on a Fri/Sat night and loved the food but this was a Tues and we went specifically for the early bird. How very disappointed we both were. The menu was different to the one they have online, it wasn't as good. The starters were very small, the main course was just ok and the dessert which was included was one scoop of HB strawberry ice cream. It said dessert of the day on the menu on line. What a joke for a dessert. We left feeling really hard done by and with so many really good 20 euro 3 course early bird deals out there we certainly won't be going back to Kinara for a very very long time.

Absolutely excellent food. I came here with my familly for an evening meal, greated at the door by a very friendly employee who showed us where to go. The portions were perfect along with the quality of the food. Everyone was completely satisfied, the only thing which dissappointed me was the small variety of beer available, also once I got my beer it didnt taste very fresh. Overall a great experience, will definately go back.

Not having been to Kinara in a year our 2nd visit was as good as the first. This time we opted for the early evening chef special menu. 2 courses plus ice cream for 19.95. Excellent value and gorgeous food. Rice and naan with mains. Service was great. The restaurant filled up quickly. Can't wait to go again

Had a family meal here on a Sunday evening. Heard good reports of Kinara and were not disappointed. Firstly we were given a table with a lovely view over Dublin bay. The food was first class throughout and seemed to be more subtlely flavoured than some other Indian/Pakistani restaurants. The service was prompt and extremely friendly. The wine list was quite extensive and not too pricey. You will get cheaper Indian meals in Dublin but its worth paying the extra few euros to get food of the quality served in Kinara

This is my favourite sub-continental restaurant in Ireland. The menu is brilliantly designed and expertly cooked. It takes some skill (and courage) to take on delicate crab claws or lobster. To pull it off as they consistently do in Kinara is a marvellous achievement. To do so using the extreme temperatures of a tandoor is an even greater culinary achievement. I have tried almost everything on the menu at this stage and it is an outstanding menu. Food is not swamped in ghee and oleagenous as can often be the case in poor Indian / Pakinstani restaurants. As to the wine, there is a pretty good list and it has the pinot noirs, grenache and syrah / shiraz combinations often matched with this cuising but I tend to plump for Cobra beer. I have never been convinced by wine with this cuisine. Finally, I am assured that the cocktails are good too. The service is top notch and the atmosphere (especially upstairs) normally a warm burr of satisfied customers warming to the culinary task in front of them. It is the only restaurant I frequent on a very regular basis.

I have been eating here for years and it is by far my favourite Indian restaurant. The standard of service is always exceptionally high. In relation to their food it is always excellent with a great selection of dishes offered by their menu. My favourite dishes for starters would be either aloo tikki potato cakes or the beautifully spiced behari kebab. For my mains I love the keema aloo served with chewal rice and paratha bread. For the desert the honey cake is a must. The restaurant is in a very good location the only problem can sometimes be parking but generally a parking spot can be found within a short distance. The sea view afforded by the window seating is lovely too. I always reserve a table in Kinara as it very well attended throughout the week. Looking forward to my next visit here.

It's set on the waterfront of Clontarf and there aren't any designated parking spaces so you might have to drive around to find on street parking. We had made a reservation and even though it was a week night the restaurant was busy and we had to wait a little while to be seated. We were seated upstairs by the window overlooking the pier out to bull island and it was a beautiful evening so that was an added bonus. We shared Malai Tikka spicy chicken pieces for starter which was good. We had to wait a little while for the mains, we ordered two popular chicken dishes and both were excellent. I had Makhani Murghi with basmati rice and my boyfriend had Murgh Tikka Masala with pilau rice. We also shared some Dhaina Paneer Nan bread. For dessert we shared some homemade nutty ice cream. A glass of wine and two coffees later the bill came to approx 73 euro. I wouldn't be a huge fan of Indian food in general but Kinara is well worth the visit the food is bang on and you'll leave the place sated and promising to return.

Kinara is a beautiful restaurant, overlooking the sea front. I love their food, especially the hot and spicy dishes. Its a lovely place to relax and unwind with some nice wine. The staff are so nice and extremely friendly, which makes it all the more welcoming. One of my favourite spots and the food is always of high standard. The service is excellent also. B

It had been a long while since we were last here and I had family over from Austria so I thought bringing them here would be a real treat. As I had remembered, the food was great! I never heard so many happy exclamations around the table when the starters were completed which was pleasing! We tried the lamb Champ Kandhari , the tender beef kebab, monkfish spiced just right and the tasty crab claws. All wonderfully spiced. For mains we all love lamb curries so we all had a different lamb dish of which all were as equally satisfying as the starters including the kishmish nan on the side. We were all well full by then so it was espresso's & green tea to finish off. My only gripe on the evening was the service. When we were seated we waited a few minutes before we managed to attract one of the waitresses to bring us the menu which was the way the rest of the evening went with not enough service. We even had to ask if we could please have coffee at the end as we hadn't been asked if we would like desert or coffee when we had finished our main meal. So all in all, the food was great but really poor service.

If you are a novice or love Indian food this is the place to go. For a taster of good food then the early bird is the way to go as at €19.99 for three courses it is a great introduction to their cuisine. There is always choices on the menu and it is continually changing which is great as its a way that I have tried dishes I would probably not have known before and the fun is if there is two or more of you then by ordering different items of the menu you get to try even more. The quantity of food that you get for your money is excellent and with three courses it is just about enough before you can roll out of the place. It is one of the nicest restaurants around which includes the friendliness and great service also provided. Everyone should try it at least once and be very surpised if you don't become a fan like me and continuing going back.

My first visit to this restaurant and have to say the food was delicious and the service excellent! I had the Malai Tika to start and the spicy Lamb dish as my main, which I would recommend for those who can handle the heat as it is loaded with chilis. The only downfall was that the restaurant was packed with children at the time we went there (around 7) so it was a bit noisy and the children were runinng around, which isn't a fault to the restaurant itself. The service was perfect and we didn't have to wait long. I will definitely be back here, but maybe at a later hour when children are in bed.

Booked here last minute for their early bird special at 19:95euro. Wasn't disappointed with the quality of food, however the choice was quite limited: A choice of 2 starters (kofta & fried pototoes) and 3 mains (a very spicy Chicken Aschari, Beef Korma or a veggie alternative). Despite being the only 2 people in the restaurant at 6pm, it quickly filled up with punters availing of the same offer which ends at 7pm. Service was excellent, so too was the food. The portion sizes are quite deceptive, very filling to say the least: accompanied with a large bowl of Pilau Rice, Naan Bread and Pompadoms . 500ml carafe of Australia red was reasonably priced at 13:50. Total bill price of 53:40 - excellent value. Worth a visit

I have been here a number of times but unfortunately Have moved a little too far away to make it there on a regular basis. This was my first visit in about a year and I still love it. Decor is Simply but works! We went on a Thursday night, The restaurant was buzzing with people, Staff were so friendly and Food was as I remembered fantastic. We went for the early bird menu, I had a potato Spicy Starter and Lamb Korma for mains and of course the Beautiful Ice Cream Dessert for €19.95 which was excellent... all courses were Delish and so was my companions, as I had a taste of these dishes too. Can't wait to visit again!

Kinara is one of the places I've always wanted to eat, purely for the guy standing outside. The night we went they were closing early, but managed to find a table for 4 of us. The service was quick, and considering it was Christmas Eve they weren't trying to hurry us out either. The food was gorgeous, I started with the Monkfish (Lasooni Machali) and then had the Palak Paneer. The timings between the course was perfect, the wine was flowing and there was some proper cheer in the air. Next time I'm floating around Clontarf I would definitely go back, no doubt.

I couldn't fault this restaurant! I'd been looking to try here for a while but only got around to it a week or two ago. I'd heard it was good but I wasn't expecting it to be superb! Our waitress was lovely and attentive. We went for the early bird, which was excellent value, especially considering the quality and size of the portions. I came out raving about the naan bread which tasted real, not like the standard pear shaped stuff you get in a packet, or a take away! I'd highly recommend the minced lamb dish or my boyfriend had the prawn jalfrezi which he loved! Will definitely be making a return visit!

Visited Kinara on a birthday night out for my wife. Arrived at 8.30. Got lovely table upstairs by window overlooking bay. Ordered a couple of V&T's when we arrived but they arrived with slimline tonics. Monkfish starter was very nice for my wife, and I had the minced lamb kebob which was very tasty too. For mains ordered the Beef Lobia, Chicken Mughul Khopra with one plain rice, a fried rice and one nan with a side of Aloo Gobi. Food is served in small ceramic bowls with lids and initially don't look like enough. Don't be fooled by this! There will be plenty by the time you get through it all. Food was delicous. We had it with a couple of Cobra Beers instead of wine for a change. A shared desert, Gulab Jammun, not that great, too sweet, but a couple of glasses of Moscato desert wine took the edge off nicely. One coffee and off we went. Ordered taxi which arrived promptly. Toilets very clean btw. Total bill 130. Great value. Will be back.

Was feeling very tender after running the marathon so wanted some delicious food. Funnily enough, the waiter knew our regalar order off by heart but we did change one dish! We had the chiken tikka and the monkfish for starters. So good. For mains I had temater aloo gosht (lamb) and my boyfriend had the saag paneer. We also had a side of plain naan and pilau rice. Even though it was a Tuesday, the place was pretty busy which just shows you that is great restaurant!

Kinara's consistency is the key to its success. I am a regular guest here and have yet to experience a less than delicious dish. The monkfish starter is excellent. It can be spicy so let the waiter know beforehand if you prefer a milder version. I have tasted most of the starters and have yet to be disappointed - same with the main courses although I tend to stick with my favorite two. It has a lovely ambiance and the staff are friendly and helpful.Definitely one of my Top 5 in Dublin.

This has got to be one of the best restaurants in Ireland, the food is simply delicious. The atmosphere can be quite formal which is a pity but that doesnt stop us as the food is excellent. The tandoori jhinga [tandoori prawns] are out of this world and the mirch masala gosht, well what can I say, a taste sensation. Kinara takes good food seriously, excellent every time. Be aware though, some dishes can be quite spicy, I love that but if you prefer it less spicy, be sure to mention it. The Early bird during the week offers great value, I would highly recommend Kinara.

Arrived for the early bird with no table booked. Place was buzzing and we were still seated quickly. Service was so efficient and professional. Food was delicious and wine fairly good value by the glass. At the end we had what felt like a four star dining experience at pizzeria prices. Will definitely be back again and they deserve all the custom they are getting at the moment.

Ate here with the girls for the early bird and was very impressed. Had a beautiful table at the wondow overlooking the sea. Ordered chicken pakora for starters which was delicious, had a lamb curry for mains - very spicy but offset by a nice cooling portion of raita. Garlic naan onn the side. Really filling for the price.

Wonderful! I went with two others for a really lovely meal, we had fantastic service, I will agree with other reviewers that it's not cheap but it is also not a rip off. Be warned that the food is very spicy even the milder dishes. The food is beautifully prepared and presented and I could have eaten any of the starters or main courses that arrived. I started with the crab and then I had the charcoal beef (I can't think of the name of the dish) which was really tasty with wonderfully flavoured pilau rice. All were wonderful This restaurant is now on my to return to list!

I ate here with my sister for the Early Bird. THe early bird menu is very limited so I instead ordered the chicken shimla murghi from the ala carte menu. It was delicious - the right side of spicy and packed full of flavours. My sister had the lamb korma from the Early Bird menu and declared it to be fabulous.Although it isnt exactly cheap, the portions are big, the staff were very friendly without being intrusive and it was buzzing for a Monday night. I will be back.

I just love this restaurant especially for our girls' nights. We usually go for the early bird which has never failed to please. Poppadums & relish come straight away. Starters are delicious & just the right amount to whet your appetite. Generally there's a choice of lamb, chicken or vegetarian for mains accompanied by delicious naan & rice. Dessert is always ice cream cassata. All for circa €22! The house wine is great at €18. I have gone for a la carte on special occasions but this is usually quite pricey especially as we order more than we need! Beautiful venue with all the best of Northside Dublin on offer. Have been to North India recently & now appreciate Kinara's authentic cuisine. Never had any problem with service!

Went here for an 830 sitting on a thursday night We had booked a table but were waiting for nearly 10 minutes to be seated. The place was packed with Early bird goers so I reckon our table was given to an off the street booking. When seated we waited a good 5 minutes before anyone came near us to ask would we like to order wine!! We asked for menus, water and poppadoms and only got the menus. When we asked for the popodums and water for a second time and around 10 minutes later we were told very snottily they are on the way! They came 5 minutes later and then we had to ask twice to order it was ridiculous!! The prices are very expensive and the food was overspiced but tasty, I have been here before thats why the terreble or should I say dreadful service was so dissappointing. I will only return for the early bird which now runs till 8pm and is good value but their staff really need a good talking to!!!

heard a lot about it didn't find any thing special .what was all the fuss about this place. plates were yellow so old , so long running dinning place atleast they should get new plates . it took them 25 minuetes to give starters when we asked the waitress said they are fresh prepared so it takes time .. so how come main course arrived in 2 min when we finished the starters . food was nice and good value as we took early chefs spesials . but they should change there crockery. i would highely suggest that . will try them one more time soon .

I have been visiting Kinara for 5 years now, at least twice a year, here's my two cents: Likes: Food: Next to authentic Pakistani (and/or north indian) cuisine. Atmosphere: Get a window seat and watch dublin bay. Dislikes: Price: Overpriced, you know you can do better with that money but there are not many options. Service: Gradually decreasing since 2004. Gone pretty low in recent months. Menu: Not much changes in last 5 years. No Desserts: Mississippi Mud Slide is NOT a typical Pakistani dessert. Ask for: Plain Salty Lassi as after meal drink. They used to serve it on-demand as its pretty basic yoghurt+cream+water drink, but recently I've been told on two occasions that 'it too much'. Consider that we collectively paid ~200 euro for dinner and they told us that a Glass of Lassi is 'too much' to make. I still recommend the place since I am from Pakistani and I haven't found any other good alternative when it comes to food flavor, but they could certainly do something about their professional approach and some menu enhancements.

The food here just seems to get better and better. We dropped in on Friday evening to get a quick main course. Unfortunately as the previous reviewer has commented the service was quite slow - 40 minutes wait for mains but when it did arrive it was worth the wait. We had Murgh Tikka Masala, Mirch Masala Gosht and a speciality beef dish (The name escapes me). They were all really good along with great garlic and coriander naan and steamed rice. Not cheap but very well priced for such quality. Will definately return.

Went here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary last Thursday,, was amazed at how busy it was. We were seated upstairs which had no atmosphere unlike downstairs, its definately worth requesting a table downstairs when booking. As always the food was suberb here, really good offers on the ealry bird which we availed of. We had a lovely Malbec also which went so well with our food. Our waitress didn't know too much about the wines not was she very attentive during our meal. By 8.30pm the restaurant was very busy and we felt we were being rushed through our meal. The waitress then came over to offer us dessert, which she said was Strawberries and cream or ice cream. In our early bird meal dessert was included so we asked what this was and she said strawberries so we ordered 2 portions. We were very surprised to receive our bill only to be charged extra for the 2 desserts we had since they were included on the earlybird. We queried this with the waitress and she said the dessert we had was not included on the earlybird that a different dessert comes with the earlybird. In other words, tellign us we were wrong, after walkign away from our table she re-presented us with the same bill and said her manager said the bill was correct. We then asked to speak to the manager who we had to explain to again, he then saw her mistake and removed the extra charges for dessert from our bill. He was apologetic in the end and told us the waitress was only new and still in training. They really need to train their staff more before putting them to work a busy restaurant. I was very disappointed leaving this restaurant as it is one of my favourites and I love to go here on special occassions but it will be a while before I go back...

Really nice restaurant, was delighted to get a table at the last minute, The waiter made sure to squeeze us in and I am glad he did. Its always a good sign when you pass by a restaurant that is full at 6 in the evening so we went to take a look at about 9ish. The service was great probaly the best service I have ever had in a Dublin restaurant. The food was really really great, no complaints whatsoever about the food/place, would love to return!

I went for lunch here today and was delighted to see they have restored their original 14.95 set lunch menu aswell as having other meals and ethnic tapas on the menu. I had beautifully cooked cod to start and a vegetable jalfrezi to follow. The food was extrememly fresh and oozing with flavour. My desert was lovely strawberries and their fantastic homemade ice cream. i think the reason why Kinara is such a successful restaurant is their insistence on high quality ingrediants and their excellent service. Go!

I heard a lot about kinara, so decided to give them a visit. I wasn't very satisfied with the food or the service. I love indian and pakistani food, but i found this food very buttery/greasy. I couldn't finish my meal, which i paid for and asked for it to be wrapped to go.....the waitress gave me a bit of an attitude as if to say 'this is not the type of place that has doggy bags'. She took the meal away anyway and put the contents of it in a transparent plastic bag and gave it to me... I don't think i will be paying that place another visit.

Food and service both excellent. In particular we both really enjoyed the monkfish starter. Mains good too, in particular the Jalfrezi Jhingha, Badam Naan (best ever according to himself) and the Channa Masala a chick pea side dish was lovley too (and himself normally HATES chick peas ). Defo on the pricey side for an Indian ( though our starter was one of the more expensive ones on the menu @ €11.95 each). With 1 beer, 2 soft drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains, I side, 1 rice and I naan our bill was €89 before service.

I very much enjoyed eating here. There was four in my party including myself. At the door you are greeted very warmly by a gentleman in a turbin which is a nice touch. The restaurant is quite small but to its advantage as it wafts of wonderful smells of different meals being served. The service is quite quick, you are quickly given water which is constantly refilled and popadoms to keep the hunger at bay. The majority of us having eaten here before went straight for the tikka masala which comes in wooden bowls with either pita bread or rice (or both if you wish). It's the best tikka masala I ever tasted. I would recommend the organic wines on the menu. One of my party was a little disappointed no veg came with the meal but I don't think traditional veg comes with a pakastani meal.

Recently went to Kinara with two friends for an impromptu meal. It was quite busy and always seems to be but we were given a table that wasnt booked until 2 hrs later. The staff were friendly and helpful, explaining any of the menu sections we werent sure of. The food itself was gorgeous. Rich but not too much so. The best indian food I have eaten in years and its my favourite type of cuisine. The atmosphere is relaxed and despite the fact the dining area is quite small you dont feel like you are intruding on other peoples meals and visa versa. The portion sizes were very generous. I really enjoyed the meal and the staff were very attentive and put no pressure on us at any stage to speed up so they could prepare for the next service. The food is quite expensive but for a standard of food this good it is the perfect place to go for a meal to treat yourself!

One of the better Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Dublin I think. It is always busy which is a good sign! Visited for the first time on Monday night with my husband and had a nice meal. Starters + mains + wine + softdrink came to €72, so it was somewhat on the expensive side but good quality food. My only criticism was that when my husband asked to take what he had not eaten of his meal home in a doggy bag, he was told they do not offer this facility - I wonder how hard it would be to put it in a bit of tinfoil??

Came here for lunch last Friday. I had the special lunch which was a main course served pakistani style with nann bread, rice and a side dish for €11.95. It was really nice and you could see all the fresh herbs and spices. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, quiet enough with a lovely seaview. The waitress was really attentive and friendly. I look forward to going back soon to sample the chicken wrap that my friend got!

I had been intending on visiting for quite a while having heard great things and been impressed by it's sister restaurant in Malahide. Our lunch here yesterday was superb value and quality. On a Sunday afternoon two courses for €14.95 is an excellent price. The flavour and quality of the food was outstanding, we practically licked the plates clean. Service was perfunctory but not the worst I've ever encountered. Would recommend a visit.

Food here is excellent, service is very good, the food is always consistently good, the atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and relaxed and private you can very much enjoy a private conversation. However the reason I am writing the review is to let all know that they have fantastic lunch menu and it is quite good value. I would definitely recommend the beef wrapped in Naan bread.yum yum yum. ( From Lunch Menu).

Of all the Indian restaurants I've been to in Dublin, this place definitely has the best food. The quality if very high and the prices do reflect that. The menu is rather more varied than standard Indian fare, with a good selection of seafood including lobster. Some of the dishes are the closest Irish approximations to dishes I've eaten in India, the waiters are good guides. The main downside to this restaurant is that unless you live in the area, it is rather difficult to get to and getting a taxi home can be quite expensive.

Was my third visit to this restaurant, the food is always good, service is very good. Atmosphere pretty good. Just a bit close to the neighbour tables, I found it sometimes very loud, because it was so full. Would defo recomend it.

It was my 1st visit to the restaurant & I simply loved the food. The starters were just amazing & so was the main course, though the dessert was little dissapointing as there are run of the mill options here n nothing great. The wine list is decent & yes the cocktails could be avoided...But I would definilty be returning for the food as its simply delicious!!

Kinara The guy outside with the turban is lovely and friendly. We always go here for the early bird special which is great value at €19.99 as it’s just around the corner. It includes a starter, main course and dessert of home-made ice cream. The food is beautifully presented and the service is excellent. There is a vast a la carte menu which makes it easier to choose the early bird as there is too much choice. The main courses are very nice and the meat is tender. I especially like the chicken dish cooked in almond and cream which is yummy but not too heavy. They have a great selection of wines and a nice prosecco at about €7 a glass.

Kinara is one of the finest places to eat in dublin. Food is great, service is great, price is reasonable......... ever try to get a taxi from it? We can't blame the restaurant for the taxi service, but the seating is appalling. If you book a table for 2 (which many do) be prepared to sit on your neighbours lap. I could count the nose hairs on the guy beside me. Overall can't fault the food, but a table too many to be intimate.

Myself and my boyfriend ate here last week. I enjoyed the meal and thought the service was excellent. I also thought their was a nice atmosphere. However, the food is overpriced. We had one starter and two main courses and 3 beers and the meal was over €70, too expensive. All the starters were nearly over €9 which is simply too much considering for our starter we just got 4 small chicken pieces so there was barely enough to share. I also thought the menu was a bit limited. It was nice for a change but I won't be rushing back

We went to Kinara last night as a group of 4. We hadnt booked a table but they were able to accomodate us. The meals are lovely if not a little overpriced. Portion sizes are quite large so we were lucky we didnt order starters, we didnt try desert either because we were just too full. They did warn us that one of our dishes was the hottest on the menu, although it wasnt really hot to any of us on the table. Well worth a visit. I will be back again.

After hearing great reports about this place I was eager to go but have to say I was dissapointed somewhat. Whilst I cannot fault the food I thought that the restaurant lacked atmosphere and the service wasn't great either. I 've defo eaten in nicer places and I don't think I'll be back to Kinara in a hurry!

Was a bit worried going here last night after seeing a few recent negative reviews lately- however everything was lovely. The service was pretty much flawless and the food was excellent. Have been to the one in Malahide a few times which is one of my favorite resteraunts ever- and I think the food quality may have even been better here- fantastic atmostphere! :)

Authentic flavours using spices rather than heat. Some dishes can be a little bland if you're used to spicy Indian food. Always busy and quite crowded - don't go for an intimate private conversation, but the atmosphere is good. Lots of choice and a brave effort at incorporating Irish produce into an ethnic menu.

i ate there last night. it was my first visit, i found the restaurant nice and comfortable. the starter(lamb chop) was very nice, tasty and tender. i ordered the main course (fish) as medium spiced, but it was almost mild when i got it and the bread i had was nearly burnt. even though there were lots of staff hanging around, but no one came to check the food but all the surrounding tables were checked time to time. i really get disappointed. it took a little while for the dessert menu to arrive by one of the waiter. i wasn't told which desserts were available and which were not, luckily i came to know that from the neighbouring table. it was really so hard to see the smiley face and they all seemed very uncomfortable. hopefully i will visit the restaurant again in future and wish to have another experience.

Myself and my parter ate here last night, and I most certainly wouldn't recommend it. The food is over priced, and bland and the atmosphere was minimal. I will never be returning! There is a far better restaurant not far from there where the staff are lovely and the food is great!!

Ate here last night. Think it has gone downhill a little. Had a drink in the bar while waiting for our table. The waitress was very friendly same cannot be said for the waiter in the restaurant. We were seated upstairs (directly under the air conditioning which was freezing). I had the Korma which was tasteless although my friend had the Biriyani Gosht which she said was wonderful.

If your a southsider and wondering if it's worth the drive and forgoing the drinking, the answer is yes. If you are a foodie and wonder where the gems in this city are for great fresh authentic food, this is one of them. Seriously high standard of cooking, service and taste! The restaurant itself is small and not very extravagant but white linen, great presentation and served with class. Lasooni Machali is gorgeous and juicy, Jalfrezi Jhinga the same. Book in advance.

Visited Kinara last Thurs and as always thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Always guaranteed consistently good quality food combined with excellent service. The only negative point about this restaurant is that they seem to have jammed more tables in to cope with demand and now difficult to have a private conversation. Could clearly hear both parties on either side of us.

we like this room, the staff and the food. skip desserts. hit them up for a cocktail and tuck into some mean and tasty food. plenty of smiles and food is always great, it doesn't depend on heat for flavour more the educated using of spices. lunch is a real winner. and oh my gos the naan breads are wicked

Myself and my partner ate here on a thursday evening. I had one of the traditional Pakistani dishes for my main course after a tasty starter. The main course was sublime, the richness, flavour and texture of the food is beautiful. I had a Tia Maria coffee liquer to finish which was the nicest I think I can remember ever having. My partner, however, ordered the cheesecake which was shockingly bad- it was basically a lump of sponge that seemed stale and as if it had been in a fridge for months. She took one mouthful and couldn't finish it, I couldn't even manage a mouthful. Such a shame because it was such a contrast to our previous delicious food. I still would have no hesitation in returning (just avoid the cheesecake). The service was amiable and prompt and the atmosphere nice and relaxed. One other downpoint though was getting a phone call from the restaurant two days later asking me why I hadn't turned up for a booking they seemed to believe I'd made for that evening (which I hadn't made at all). Either there was a miscommunication between the restaurant and Menupages who I booked my table through or they need to learn the difference between a thursday and a saturday!

We did not do the early bird deal, so dinner was expensive, but it was possibly the best meal I have ever had in my life, and the service was great. The tables are a little too close together, but the lovely view made up for this. The squid starter was sublime and all of the dishes we tried were just fabulous.

This restaurant is incredible! We had driven past this place many times and been intreagued as to what pakistani food would be like, so yesterday evening we went for dinner here. The staff are extremely friendly and polite, and the food is just amazing - very similar to Indian food but tastier! We had tandori prawns drizzled with massala sauce and spicy calamari for starters. The prawns were big and juicy and the calamari was the most tender I have ever tasted. For main course we had a lamb and a chicken dish - both were aromatic and delicately spiced, and the lamb was so tender. The side order of potato and aubergine bhaji was my favourite dish - full of flavour. Along with caramalisd onion pilau rice and a garlic naan, we were stuffed! We still had a tiny bit of room however for the home made pistachio ice cream and Mississippi Mud pie, which again were both perfect. I couldnt recommend this place enough, great staff, great atmosphere and amazing food.

It's just too yummy in Kinara. I am a regular in Kinara - their Mushroom Bhaji has me bewitched. Any excuse at all and I will have it as a side dish or (even more naughty) a main course. I just love their food. The mini taste explosions of all the different spices and flavours are just fabulous. The early bird menu is ridiculously good value for what you get, though it seems I'm not the only one to have worked this out judging by the large numbers in attendance early in the evening. I notice they have extended their opening hours and added lighter lunch options to match their sister restaurant in Malahide. I will find it even more difficult to keep away.

Authentic recipes are the source of this restaurants success and the flavours of the dishes are superb! Service is spot on and although it might be considered pricey to eat in Kinara it's well worth it. I had a monkfish dish that I can't remember the name of but I do remember being amazed at the top quality fish and the more than adequete serving. They also do vouchers which make great gifts...that's how we ended up going. I highly recomend this restaurant.

Is this the best Indian restaurant on Dublins northside, is this the best Indian restaurant in Dublin?? Quite possibly! Having heard so much about it from friends I finally got to eat here on Saturday. I've been eating in Dublins Indian restaurants for 15 years now and I have to say Kinara left me feeling that perhaps this was the closest I've ever come to genuine authentic Indian cuisine. Great food, no make that fantastic food, great service and seated at the front of the restaurant as the sun went down over Dublin bay a great view! Try Kinara, you will not be disappointed.

As a regular diner at Kinara I cannotv rate this place highly enough and after another wonderful meal with a friend last week I felt I had to add my review. As a lover of ethnic cuisine the varaiation on the menu is fantastic especially the seafoood options and lighter/organic fare. The restaurant surroundings are beautiful and the service and friendliness of the waiters is always consistent. We moved into the area three years ago and Kinara has been a regular haunt ever since and although the prices are not cheap I firmly believe it is well worth it for the quality of the food and service and the view of the bay if you get a window table. I will be back again and again and am looking forward to trying their sister restaurant Kajal in malahide.

Went to Kinara on Friday night the food was beautiful. The service was outstanding. Our waiter went through the menu with us and advised which courses may be too spicy or which naan bread would complement are the type of dish we ordered. His attention to detail was outstanding and we were very well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anybody. This restaurant is fantastic.

I dont particularly like this style of food but I cannot rate this restaurant high enough. Its fab, the food is light and organic and not as heavy and stodgy as I normally find with this time of food. The dips are amazing, as are the tandori prawns to start and the service is fantastic. I cannot rate Kinara highly enough! I've been here twice - once with a large group of girlfriends and, more recently on a date! On both occasions the food was delicious and the service was the best I've ever experienced. Although it is expensive, if you're a fan of indian food, you won't find better than this in Dublin. The cocktails are top notch too!

This restaurant has got to be one of the best Indians outside of India. The service is friendly and the staff are very patient on explaning the many dishes on offer. A must for anyone not sure on what to order is Tandoori Jhinga for starter....mmmmm. The prawns are a little spicy but to die for. For the main Mughui Khopra..a chicken dish with just the right amount of spice. The only fault I have are the tables are a little near each other...not so bad on a busy night but on a quiet night be carefull what you say!!!

Have eaten here lots of times and have always had excellent friendly service and fabulous food. Nice views over the Bay if you get a window table. Ate there last night for my father's birthday and the staff were more than happy to accommodate his request for a mild rather than spicy main course - though they did say that all starters are medium spicy. Western style desserts are available, as well as lovely peppermint tea etc. Early bird is particularly good value.

This restaurant is a regular haunt of ours and I have yet to be disappointed by it. We go regularly for the early bird dinner menu (€19.95 for 3 courses plus poppadums and tea/coffee). The early bird menu is changed regularly and the food is consistently excellent. The service is friendly but not intrusive. Jugs of iced water are always available when requested. The whole place is great in terms of value, atmosphere and quality. And if you can get a window seat upstairs the views over the bay are great too. Big thumbs up.

Excellent meal on a busy Saturday night. Service very prompt and friendly. Had a laugh with the indian waiter who has a Dublin accent, so clearly they are well established. Prawn and Lamb Chops for starters are very good. Couldn't finish the mains as the portions are very healthy. Nice bar area for a pre or post dinner drink. I have eaten here many times and it never fails to impress. Not cheap for an Indian, but then again, it is an authentic Indian and surpasses all competitors. Highly recommended.

Visited on a busy Saturday evening. Was delighted to see that there was such a good selection of "different" dishes to choose from, and not just the "old favourites". The waitress was very helpful in explaining the different dishes I wanted to try. Sorry I can't remember the actual names, because they were soooo good I want to have them again. The portions were generous and best of all NOT swimming in an inch of ghee. I usually have to soak of the top layer of oil before I can eat Indian food, but this meal was delicious. I can't wait to visit again. The only thing that I would be a little concerned about, is that the tables are very close together which makes it impossible to have a private chat. I could hear every word at the neighbouring tables and they could hear us. But apart from that, it was all good.

Really nice restaurant - great atmosphere - beautiful decor - also in the bar area. The place was hopping on the Friday night we ate here, but the service was really attentive but not intrusive. The food was wonderful. We really enjoyed it and are only sorry we didn't discover it before now!!

The food here is lovely. A large menu, it can be a bit baffling. There's so much to choose from. We were disappointed we couldn't take our plentiful leftovers home, as we were stuffed and didn't want to part with our curries!

I went here with two Friends on Saturday night [my second visit], we were there at 6pm and did not get our food until just after 7:30pm with others served before us! Unbelieveable! The quality of the food was excellent when it did arrive. Apart from the waiting the rest was great!

Have been here several times in the last year and it never fails to impress. The Sunday Lunch has to be one of the best value meals in Dublin at only 14.95 for a starter, main course and ample flavoured rice. Food is consistently delicious and they can accommodate any range of tastes. Service is attentive and even though we were the last to leave there was no sense of being rushed out. Anyone with any spirit of adventure or curiosity who wants to eat in nice surroundings should try here.

Like many people I passes this place many times and always said I'd go in. Food fantastic. Service very good but try and not get seated at the fireplace upstairs a bit of a draught!! If you find you can't find exactly what you want in an Indian restaurant then I'd head here and have a go. A bit pricey at the guts of €20 for a main course.

This is my new favourite restaurant! The staff are so attentive, the menu is so varied, the food itself is absolutely delicious and for a starter, main course, naan bread, dessert, coffee and wine it worked out at less than €60 pp. Brilliant value in my book! Would definitely recommend Kinara for a romantic dinner for two, or even for a small gathering of friends. You have to try this place!

Wonderful meal, three courses for 20E. Cod starter was fab, lamb main was delish, no problem making it hotter. Service was very good and they even sent over a round of drinks on the house after the meal. Very reasonable wine list, and very impressive for an ethnic restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Having read so many excellent reviews for Kinara Restaurant, we decided to try it last Saturday for dinner. It could not be faulted, the food was fantastic. Starter dish of squid rings were perfectly cooked - no rubber bands here !!! We enjoyed every mouthful - the sauces and spices were wonderful. Service was very good and if asked, the waiting staff were helpful and patient in explaining the different dishes. We are fairly new to Indian, Pakistani and ethnic food but we know good food when we taste it.This will be a regular venue for us.

I had wanted to go here for ages. Finally we went on Sunday night. It was worth waiting for; the food is gorgeous. They have an organic menu. I had the prawns which were mouth watering good which is hard to find in Dublin. Usually you just get frozen. Kinara is local to us and I will be back again soon with friends!

I'd wanted to go for a number of months after hearing so much about it from my friends. I wasn't disappointed: it's without doubt the best Indian meal I've ever had. Yes, it is probably the most expensive Indian restaurant you'll ever visit in Ireland. But it is by far and away the best Indian food you'll ever get. So on that basis, I think it represents value for money. The only thing I could fault them on is the decor and atmosphere. The interior looks dated and the tables are just a bit too close together.

Went here on Sunday at lunch time. We were sat at the back of the restaurant down on the bottom floor. It was very bright outside so me and the person beside me couldn't see the two people in front of us as it was so bright. We asked them to pull down the blind and they said they would, but they didn't. We then had the food, which was nice. One of us wasn't feeling well so he wanted to bring his food home, I was going out later on for another meal so I only had a bit, planning to bring the rest home. When we asked to have the rest of our food to go, as we ate about a quarter of it, we were told they had no containers, and did we have any with us!? Couldn't believe it!! They managed to find one container for my dad, they were going to take his meal off the menu since he didn't touch it if they couldn't find a container. Very surprised that they couldn't give you the rest to go home with you. Don't know if i would go back

Fab restaurant. Only problem with this place is that I want everything on the menu. I suggest a combi starters as it's great for first timers as I've been trying to convert family and friends who think all Indian food is spicy hot. The Jumbo prawns are to die for. I love the Shimla Murghi, chicken done to perfection. The Guy at the door is great, love the whole atmosphere but don't like the back room. Their Lunch menu is great value too. I'll be back

I have been to Kinara several times and I love the place from the location to the food, the food is mouth-watering, the prawns and the chicken are great that’s all I go for but I really enjoy it. The last time I was there I was seated in the room that was used for just waiting on a table. There’s a bar there but they only started using it due to the fact there always busy I presume but I wouldn’t like to sit there again. It’s away from the main part of the restaurant and you don’t get to see the view of the coast which is nice if you’re on a date. I highly recommend the place 10 out of 10 for me.

The best Indian / Pakistani restaurant in Dublin. Bit predictable, but I always go for the chicken Tikka Masala here. Wonderfully tender with amazing creamy sauce. The tiger prawn starter is a must. Decent desserts. My only qualm is that it is a little bit overpriced but the great value early bird and lunch make up for this. Staff are very friendly.

We ate here on Sunday. The restaurant is decorated authentically and the service is great. We had the marinated beef for starters which was delicious and very tender. I had the Jhinga Khara Masala which was extremely tasty with just the right amount of spice, the prawns were really fresh. Their naan bread is thin and crispy and they have a good selection of desserts. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for and I will definitely return.

This place is great!! I highly recommend the early bird in particular, it is fantastic value for money, well worth the effort of going there, but please book as it can be busy. My last visit was a family dinner, it is a lot more expensive after the early bird, but as usual we were not disappointed. The lamb chop starter and potato cakes went down well, and the main courses were delicious as always. We ordered organic beef korma, prawns, chicken tikka masala, and a hot lamb dish. All were very good, but the tikka masala was perhaps a little too creamy. The rice as always was fragrant and flavoursome. All washed down with a crisp new zealand sauvignon blanc, an enjoyable evening by the sea as always!

My absolute favourite Indian Restaurant, not you usual run of the mill either! They have an organic section, too, which shows a bit of imagination. Consistently high standards both in the food, staff, and atmosphere areas. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough, great for celebrations or just a good evening out.

Definitely the best Indian Restaurant on the north side. The service is impeccable. The moment you arrive at Kinara, you are promptly greeted by friendly professional staff. There is a lovely bar area to have a drink before your meal. They offer poppadums with chutneys before the starters. The decor is stylish. I have eaten here several times with friends of very different tastes and all of them have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. On one occasion, I was there with my Grandmother who is actually from India, and she gave it top marks. The food is more expensive than your average restaurant. But this isn't your average restaurant! It's top quality, value, service and atmosphere. Kinara is great for all occasions, a wonderful treat.

I cycled pass this restaurant everyday for 3 years before I booked it for dinner. I was afraid it may be too posh but it definitively wasn't, even though the service was rather formal (but friendly). The food was excellent, very subtle, not your average extra hot vindaloo take-away. The spices are very well balanced; the presentation is very haute-cuisine, the wine list well above average (and we were given the half full bottle to take home). Prices are very good value. Can't recommend it enough.

We went on Friday night and it was my second time in the restaurant and it’s fast becoming my favourite restaurant! On arrival we were shown straight to our table, which had lovely sea views, we were all ravenous so we were hoping we would not be waiting too long! We were served with pompadoms with lovely soya and sweet sauce! Which took the edge off our hunger!!!! There were four of us and we ordered different dishes so we could taste them all, for starters we had Jumbo Prawns, Crab Claws, Chicken dish & Potatoes cakes all were delicious and presentation was excellent. There was good spaces between courses, I had beef Jalfrezi with peppers, onions, ginger & garlic and it was gorgeous, friends had a prawn dish, chicken & another Beef dish all dishes were lovely and our friends from London were very impressed by the restaurant. We really did not have much room for dessert but we still managed to share two desserts Mississippi mud pie! Which is melt in your mouth and I would say so calorific! You don’t want to think about it! And Ice creams which was also great…. Service was excellent and very friendly and I think good value for the quality of food & service the bill was 175 not including tips for 4 starters, 4 mains, combinations of rice & naan breads! And 2 desserts! For drinks we had two glasses of house red and two bottles of cobra beer! … I would also recommend their cocktail list! I did not partake this time but I did on my first visit and they were excellent

Kinara does the best Indian food I have ever tasted. I have eaten there several times and I’ve never been disappointed. The service is excellent. There are great views of the sea. The food is very reasonably priced and compliments to the chef because the food really is delicious. I had the Sunday lunch last time I was there. It's really good value at just €14.95. I'd strongly recommend visiting.

Brilliant food and overall great, I enjoyed every minute of the evening there. Just a reminder-this is Pakistani not Indian food. It is such a difference in culture, background and only people who have no idea about it can mix that. So please do know what you eat if you want to rate it!

I love Indian, so it was with great pleasure that we ventured to Kinara for what I thought would be a delicious Indian meal.... and I wasn’t disappointed! Location is perfectly located on Clontarf Road...food is delicious and presented in individual terracotta pots. Portions sizes are good (as the food is filling!) and presented well. Several of my friends opted for the Lamb for starters which consisted of lamb chops marinated in spices and grilled...they said they were delicious. I opted for the Aloo Tikki, which was so gorgeous I could have eaten 2! Main course, I chose Vegetable Jal Frezi, which was spicy and divine! I could not speak higher of the quality of food served at this restaurant.... yes, so the interior is slightly disappointing but the food more than makes up for it! A great place to go for Vegetarians and meat eaters, as there are so many options. Even if you are not a fond lover of Indian food, they will cater for your needs and recommend less spicy dishes. Booking essential as the restaurant is not that large and is always packed - even mid week!

Having an Indian parent makes me extra fussy about Indian food. Many so-called curry dishes taste like stew with added curry powder. Until a friend brought me to this GEM of a restaurant. One of the best Indian restaurants I've found in Ireland. I could taste all the fragrant subtle spices in the Lamb hot pot dish I ordered, and the familiar kick of the fresh chillies we get from real Indian home cooking. Superb. Great Wine List, exceptional service, what more can I say? Except I wish it was a bit cheaper, and nearer to my house. I'll be back!

Service was a shame...we booked and arrived for 7.00pm, ordered straight away when the waitress came back at 8.00 pm to retake/confirm our order...we thankfully had ordered drinks in the meantime...when the food finally arrived at 8.10 pm....wrong starter arrived for my partner...a part from this incident...the food was really excellent from starter to dessert.... it was very disappointing that the mistakes were not acknowledged on the bill...

Four of us ate there a couple of weeks ago and I have to say it is one of the best Pakistani/Indian meals we have had, we all had a great time tasting the other dishes although I have to mention it's not a cheap curry house it's better fare than that. As a couple we've dined there several times in the last 6 months and keep going back as the menu has lots of other dishes we still want to try, it may be worth having a taster dish to try other parts of the menu. The service is friendly and efficient and they make you feel welcome, one thing I've noticed since I started dining there is it's always busy... That tends to confirm that the food is good.

Absolutely fantastic place!!! All the staff were extremely friendly and were hospitable. I tried the monkfish starter that was recommended and it was excellent!! Prices were definitely on the higher side, but the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit at least once.

Have been to Kinara a few times now and it never fails to deliver. The atmosphere is relaxed yet there is always a nice buzz there. Try to get a window seat if you can the sea view is beautiful. Food is always fantastic - you can tell they use high quality ingredients. It is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Dublin!!

Kinara is a chic yet traditional Indian restaurant overlooking the bay in Clontarf. The food is excellent and offers a wide variety of dishes from a broad range of Indian cuisines. The wine list is comprehensive and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit.

Jewel in the Clontarf Crown! Luckily we are only five minutes walk from this excellent restaurant. We recently went there for their excellent early bird menu, 3 courses for €20 and up to 7.30pm it makes for great value although one or two more options on it would be great. Food is excellent here with great service and if you have a chance look for a window seat preferably upstairs and look for the great view across the bay.

The best Indian in Dublin by far... Kinara has the best tikka masala I've ever tasted & I can't recommend it highly enough. The menu is full of choices but I honestly don't think I've ever ordered anything bar the above dish because it's divine. Their naan bread is also one of a kind.... so fresh & warm & tasty. Staff are lovely & make a point of ensuring you are comfortable & well looked after. A fantastic place to dine!

I've had the Early Bird a few times and have nothing but good things to say about the place, the polite, friendly service and, of course, the food! A good deal more expensive to stray into the A La Carte menu but will definitely be back to trying it out for a big occasion. Most recently, enjoyed a great dish made of a snapper. The Indian spices made it a very tasty way to enjoy this meaty fish as a refreshing alternative to lamb or chicken. (Of course, veg. dishes are great too). The Early Bird includes poppadoms and plenty of lovely pilau rice - and then they finish you off with some ice-cream garnished with syrup and kiwi - just the ticket after the hot food!

I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago - LOVED it! The doorman adds a nice touch to the overall experience, with a friendly demeanour and much needed umbrella at hand! The atmosphere is decadent yet modern and very friendly with a sophisticated touch. The food is delicious with special mention necessary for the divine monkfish starter - if you like fish, have it, you will not regret it! The only negative is the price, with starters at around €12, this is not going to be a budget night out - but entirely worth it!

Went here for the first time last night and loved it. The food was delicious. The only downside was that from the time of arriving to getting our food, an hour had passed. A little too long to wait considering we we're very hungry upon arrival. The long wait was acknowledged and apologised for. Didn't put me off going again though. The rest of the menu looked fab. Can't wait to try more.

Super place and somewhere I've been a fan of since it opened.. However, they did tend to slide on their usual high standards over Christmas, leaving our group waiting around 45 minutes one night for our starters, after we had ordered! Lets hope they get back on track and this was a once off.

An excellent restaurant. It's out of our price range to be going often so we make use of their Early Bird menu, which is available Mon-Thurs until 7. Very good value for a 3 course meal. You also get free poppadoms and 3 very nice dips complimentary. When you want to splash out there is a large choice on the menu. You can't go wrong with any of it. It's always gorgeous. Highly recommended. My first 5 star rating!

Went here with friends for the early bird menu which is fantastic value-starter, main, ice-cream and dessert and tea/coffee for about €19. The food is really excellent and the service is friendly and competent. We were brought poppadoms with 3 dips before our starter, which were delicious. If you don't like things too spicy you can ask them to make it milder for you. If you can, try to get a seat upstairs by the window-the view is lovely. Parking can be a slight problem but the 130 bus stops right outside it.

Simply Amazing food, cosy restaurant, attentive staff without being too pushy, the food is actually Pakistani. Truly spicy! I was there last Saturday, they have two rounds of bookings from 6 to 9 and 9 to 11, we were a bit late but they never pushed us out of the door we ended up staying until 10. They have an organic side of the menu, great restaurant for veggies, you have to love spicy food and I can recommend the sweet naan bread to give a bit of relief to your palate! The dishes are all good everything is fresh and your taste buds are in for a real burst of flavours....good place for a romantic dinner too! ***go for it!

For someone who can find Indian food to be a bit of a chore Kinara is a feast. Dishes are clean, and not overly heavy, lacking the claggy aftertaste that put me off Indian food in the first place. AND it has the classiest doorman in the history of Dublin restaurants - yay!
