My wife and I have been regulars at Bilash for several years now and love the food and the superb wine list. Best of all is the service and the calm soothing atmosphere, just what you need on a night out to escape your noisy kids. On our last visit things were as good as ever. We send our best wishes to Chavid and his wonderful staff and hope that our beloved Bilash is up and running soon after the recent bad luck caused by fire and water.

This is my second favourite indian restaurant in dublin. The staff are always very friendly, attentive and efficient. They have great lunch and early bird offers............and very tasty. Looking forward to my next visit.

The staff are very friendly and the food is quite good, though not the best i have had. We were given complementory drinks and we felt well looked after. The only criticism i have is that the ancillary items like Nan bread & Pilau rice are a little expensive.

Had ab early-bird on a Friday evening. It was fantastic value, you pick a regular starter and main course for E20. The food was really tasty and the staff were lovely. We will certainly be back!

We ended up here last night because the two Thai places we went to were both closed down. We had no reservation and arrived quite early for a Friday night but no problem seating us. Nice surrounding, very comfortable chairs, cloth napkins & tablecloths, great start. The three sauces with the popadoms were surprisingly nice. Very often tasty but same-old same-old, these were nothing of the sort. Service was not hurried but you always got the sense that they were being attentive, if you so much as blinked in their direction they'd be there to help you. Our starters were prawns in a mild sauce, just the right size for a starter and priced accordingly. My friend had the lamb and it too was just right. For mains we had the lamb Jal Frezi and the Aloo Gosht. Both were just right in every possible way. Size, spice, meat, sauce, perfect. Portions being what they were, when we had a look at the coffee menu we just couldn't resist a desert. Though the deserts were not made there and were mostly ice-cream based, they were of good quality. I had the Tarta Fantastica and my friend the Orange Sorbet. Then we had coffee, the coffee was fine. Nothing to write home about but fine nonetheless. It was Robt. Roberts if I recall correctly. We also had a bottle of the Castillio de Molina red wine which is always a reliable choice and didn't disappoint. Though the waiters who are otherwise very good might take some time to learn to pour wine with a twist so there are no drips! On leaving we were offered a complimentary Bailys or Sambuca and mints with the bill, all coming in just under €100. We'll definitely be back.

I had a takeout from Bilash recently and it was lovely. I live nearby, so had the food delivered. The food was at my door in about a half-hour. I had the garlic nan and the chicken balti. The chicken was very nice and juicy, and the sauce was delicious! It wasn't too spicy, so if you're into spicy dishes, then I'd suggest asking for them to make it spicier. The nan wasn't the very best I've had, but it was definitely fine for a take-out, so no complaints! I will definitely be ordering from them again and can't wait to try their other dishes!

I eat here weekly and the food is excellent. The staff are very friendly and are eager to recommend their specials for the night. They are willing to cook the dishes to whatever heat you like - extra hot Madras - yum! This indian is a great place. Real value for money and a fabulous experience.

I love it! I've eaten here a number of times and I've never been disappointed. The service is very friendly and the food won't disappoint. I can't believe all the negative reviews... Great quality dishes with tasty and spicy sauces. I would recommend the prawn puri to start and I love either the Madras or Balti (extra hot) as mains. Great as a take away as well.

Ate here last night, as we had received direct mail about their midweek specials. Great location, nice decor & not too cramped. Acceptable menu for an Indian but a little more thought needed for the chefs specials I would think. Starters were small but well presented, and additional chopped onion/mango chutney etc given on request. Mains well portioned but on this occasion my partners bhuna, was as well spiced as my madras; this was changed for a korma without charge or fuss and apologies were made and accepted as the bhuna remained for me to finish! Overall I found this place a good local Indian, where the staff are attentive and friendly, with well cooked and spiced dishes. I would recommend Bilash Tandoori to couples/small groups/family who enjoy spicy meals at a very reasonable price.

Went here for a family dinner. Had pre-booked so we expected our table (to seat 7) would be ready for us. It wasn't and in fact we had to help them to set it all up. The end result, one round table stuck at the end of one rectangular one. Not quite what we had in mind! The food was tasty but nothing special. I like knowing what I'm eating and here I didn't really! The beer was completely flat and had to be sent back but lucky I had stuck to the wine which was nice enough.

Dreadful dreadful dreadful - what’s gone wrong in Bilash?? It used to be a super local restaurant to dine in. We arrived yesterday evening looking forward to a meal. I ordered Murg Tikka Biryani, now in my 13 years of eating Indian food I have always expected a Biryani to be hot (with a curry sauce being served with the main dish). However Bilash have decided despite their menu saying otherwise to serve a yogurt sauce. When I asked where the listed curry sauce was I was told "we have changed the menu" - o.k. but why not advise me of this when I ordered? And why give a cooling sauce with a dish that is cool without the curry sauce?? The manager took the evil cooling sauce away with the promise of replacing it with a hot curry sauce - after some ten minutes (in which my dish went from hot to warm to cold) he re-appeared and placed the "curry sauce" on my table. This turned out to be a non-hot tomato sauce rather than the promised curry sauce - at this stage I gave up and ate my cold and cool Biryani while muttering that I’d never return. When I complained the manger ranted on about the new menu they were putting in place and the money they were spending - I suggested that they had no need to change what was a good menu and asked had they asked customers what they thought. I explained that obviously they had gone downhill (customer across from us had the same issue in receiving a non-hot Jalfrazi and got the same ‘changing menu’ story) and I would not be returning. The bill was produced with no consideration to our experience taken into account - after challenging this with the manager he took the drinks off the menu (2 x cokes) - fantastic! Used to be very good now very poor - avoid as they seem more interested in their takeaway business.

Ended up eating in Bilash over the weekend by accident. Plan to have barfood in eksewhere didn't work out and Bilash was the only place we could get a table in locally. This wasn't a bad sign as it was quite busy and overall we enjoyed the dinner. Staff were friendly and service wise was good. Food was good. Value wise is ok as well.

Arrived with group of friends. Early bird menu, found atmosphere nice and service by waitress very good, but the food was simply appalling. Frozen veg in veg korma, korma sauce dreadful, never again, pity, great location.

Have to echo the last writer. Had dinner with friends at the weekend. Positive points first, the staff were friendly and helpful. That's it. I thought the food was not great. It all had the same strength of heat no matter what was ordered. The entire meal was nothing special, a disappointing evening, made worse when we ordered coffee, and instead of spoons on the saucers, we were presented with wooden sticks, exactly similar to what you get at a take away coffee station. Since we ordered two rounds of coffee and saw the same presentation at other tables. The bill plus tip was expensive enough without the takeaway sloppy standards. What is with this? Really sloppy presentation. Couldn't recommend this restaurant for a variety of reasons, sorry.

I used to eat here nearly every week. Then I moved to a different area. Each time we came back we would really be looking forward to it and it was nearly always good. I hadn't been in a while and was so disappointed the last two or three times that I won't go back again. The service is terrible, the staff have all changed but for the worse. The food is not as good as it used to be and when we complained we felt as if we were the ones in the wrong!!! It's a pity this place has changed so much it used to be great but now it's not even worth getting a take away from!!!

I have been eating in the Bilash Tandoori for a few years. The food has always been very good for both sit in and take out. Recently the chefs have changed and there was a noticable change in the food and also the menu. The food quality became a little bland initially but constantly improved over the course of the following weeks and is now back to a very high standard serving high quality meat and seafood with very well spiced sauces. The restaurant management and service are very friendly and also add a personal touch to regular customers which they appear to have quite a lot of. Overall this is well worth visiting and serves very tasty Indian food and reasonable prices.

We ate here for my birthday last year in a spontaneous "We're passing by so why not go in" kind of way and we were very pleasantly surprised by the place. The staff were excellent, very friendly, fun, fast and just interested enough to make you feel comfortable (without standing over you which we've had once or twice). The meal was very nice and quite good value. There also seemed to be a steady stream of takeaway customers coming in to collect orders which is probably a good sign. I would have no problem recommending the Bilash Tandoori.

Myself and my partner dropped in for a spot of lunch on a weekday afternoon. We were served quickly by very friendly staff who were attentive throughout. We ate from the lunch menu and had vegetable pakora and chicken tikka to start which were both excellent. For mains we both had chicken tikka masala, which was great in both portion size and flavour. Overall a very pleasant place for a bit lunch and super value

I've eaten here once. The food was quite nice, got some nice (free) poppadoms and dips to start, but the waiter who served us couldn't speak a word of English, and kept having to send the manager down if we asked for anything that couldn't be mimed or pointed at, which was awkward & embarrassing.

Great food - I have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal. Their Lamb Patala is delicious. Some reviewers have criticised the decor in the restaurant. However, they will be re-vamping the restaurant over the coming weeks. Bilash also have a restaurant in Malahide.

We have been eating here regularly for years and order take away at least once a week, the food is consistently great I generally go for their Balti’s and their biriyani is fantastic. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated the staff are pleasant and there is never any need to book a table. It’s very reasonably priced and they also have a great wine menu.

I have been here on a Sunday evening many times. It is usually pretty quiet, maybe 3 or 4 tables in the evening. The service is always professional and pleasant. The quality of the food is pretty good and although I have been in much nicer Indian restaurants, for the price I suppose it's fair enough. I have also used the takeaway service and it seems to be priced accordingly not like others where the reduction in main dish prices is very little Overall I would recommend it for an evening meal but I could suggest better places for that something special.

Certainly not the best Indian restaurant, but the food was rather good, the service pleasant and the atmosphere quiet. Due to the lack of quality restaurant in that part of Clontarf, I would certainly give it another try

Have eaten here many times. Not the sort of place you would go to on a romantic night out but if you fancy a nice Indian its fine. Staff friendly and food always nice. The decor could do with a bit of TLC though. A spot of paint would work wonders.

Good Indian restaurant in an Irish context. Reasonably priced Indian food in a reasonable location. Only qualification is that some dishes can fundamentally differ depending on which chef is in charge

Not the best! Having eaten Indian and Pakistani food in the UK and around the World for almost all of my adult life I can honestly say (and I told them to their faces) that this is the worst such establishment I've ever been in. It's a bit of a cliché to talk about the worst a restaurant’s decor the better the food, but perhaps the owners haven't heard it. The decor is low-end 'Indian' and the food is unfortunately the same. Sauces that seem to taste of plain gravy and meat that may have been transported halfway around the World. I'd advise avoiding.

Small, quiet restaurant, little bit old fashioned and not a lot of atmosphere but the food is good standard. Their chicken tikka masala is a must and fairly good value for money. Nice friendly staff and on the ball.
