I had been in here at Christmas and had a lovely meal with friends so decided to treat my husband to a meal here. The place wasnt busy so we had our pick of seats and the service was quick and friendly. I had the cheese and potato tart which was lovely but my husband wasnt impressed with his ham and cheese sandwich it wasnt great just bland cheese and ham thrown together and the bread didnt seem fresh. the side salad was paltry. If you are looking for a hot meal and dont like savory pastries I wouldnt reccommond here as it really is only a sandwich/tarts and cake cafe. We didnt get cakes but I can vouch that there desserts are delicious I had the most divine Victoria sponge there at Christmas.

Visted here last Saturday for a pre Christmas girls lunch catch up. The place was packed but the staff were so nice and fitted us in after only a few minutes wait. We all tried the savoury tarts which were lovely and came with lovely side salad and breads. To follow we had the desserts which were fab the lemon meringue was to die for and the baked cheesecake and victorian sponge also tasted great too. Definately a great lunch and will definately be going back there again.

after hearing and reading so many great reviews i had high hopes for queen of tarts, un fortunately i had an extremely disappointing experience here. I opted for the ham, cheese and chutney sandwiche. My two friends ordered the sandwich and soup combo. When my sandwich arrived a fly crawled out from under the bread. I called the waitress and told her, she took it back and came back with a new one. I took a bite and it tasted like the sandwiche had been sitting there all day long. The bread was NOT fresh and incredibally chewy, and extremely dry and lacked flavor which was very disapointing as it looked quite tasty. The ham was just average and so was the cheese. Halfway through eating my sandwiche i realized they never even put chutney in it. At that stage i had enough. The side salad consisted of a few leaves not even a salad dressing. The waitress than came over to take away or plates and asked me was it ok. I told her no, that my food was a complete let down, and i pointed out to her that they forgot to put in the chutney. She told me that she would put some chutney in it and i told her not to bother as the sandwiche was muck. The waitress came back and apologized and asked my would i like anything else, and i told her no. Its bad enough finding a fly in your sandwiche, and to get a second sandwiche not up to scratch put me off eating anything in there. When we got the bill they gave us a 2 euro discount on a thrity euro bill. I was outraged, i was not expecting them to charge me 7euro 50 for two faulty sandwiches. It was an absolute disgrace. Considering they have won so many awards i expect 5 star treatment in service and cullinary skills. I would not recommend and will never set foot into this place again. Appalling service.
