Ideally located on Dawson Street, just a stones throw from St. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street, Amuse Restaurant is owned and operated by Conor Dempsey and his wife Joanna. Nestled within the hustle and bustle of one of Dublin’s busiest streets a relatively small dining room by Dublin standards, sets the stage for the kind of cooking you will not find anywhere else in Ireland.

Since opening, Amuse Restaurant has garnered rave reviews from the Country’s most trusted and renowned food critics. Praise has flowed for Conor’s individual style of cooking, which brings Asian flavours, namely Japanese, to modern French cuisine. The menu focuses mainly on tasting menus as it is the best way to experience this kind of food, however there is a three course set menu available Tuesday to Thursday for mid week dining. The lunch menu is a three course affair with the option of a shortened tasting menu keenly priced, perfect for corporate and business lunches.

Great food, beautifully presented. We had the Paris to Tokyo tasting menu and in total we had 11 plates of extremely creative, interesting, thought provoking and ultimately tasty food. The atmosphere was different with the mood music very low and relaxing. My only suggestion would be to leave the guests with a copy of the menu so they can work out what all the exciting flavours and ingredients are. This is not a restaurant for steak and chips, however, do yourself and your taste buds a favour and try it out.

Fabulous restaurant and dining experience. We had the tasting menu which was excellent. Each course was a very complex combination of flavours, colours, textures and innovative ways to prepare ingredients, all absolutely delicious. Washed down with a gorgeous bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It is expensive but no more so than other 'high end' restaurants around Dublin these days.

We visited this restaurant with my wife and we were both really impressed with the food quality. The portions are indeed a bit small but if you take the Amuse Tasting Menu you will get many dishes and you will definitely be full at the end of the dinner. The only tiny complaints would be around the waitress who is really nice and professional however her accent makes it really hard to understand the dish explanations. There is another waiter who was extremely good and professional. The other slight disappointment is around the bread, usually in such places, you get some really nice sample of breads where here you only get bread after two starters and it's only one slice of standard bread. Overall, really good experience and we would definitely return to this place.

I visited this restaurant with 3 friends last Saturday and wanted to share our experience. We had reviewed the restaurants web site and seen the set dinner menus for €34 for 2 courses and €39 for 3 courses. This seemed very reasonable to us. However when we arrived we were greeted with a tasting menu €65 for 5 courses which was the cheapest option, there was no other menu available (except 10 course tasting menu). Also the first 3 course on this tasting menu were fish, so if fish is not your thing the lack of choice is really going to put a dent in your evening. So please check before hand what menus are on offer and what choices there are. Otherwise service was lovely (though accents very hard to understand) and food was as you would expect for this type of restaurant. If we had known in advance what to expect it would have been a much more enjoyable evening.

Two of us had a very interesting meal here, in particular the Amuse Bouche which were the first two courses, excellent. We had the five course tasting menu , a very good selection of both meat and fish dishs. We did not like the Duck which was very rare and tasted tough, however we will be there again and overall very exciting food. The next time we will go Al la Carte and no duck.

For my husband's birthday we booked a table. It was a Wednesday night and we were told it was a table d'hote menu. We were both very disappointed to find that the food we were served were plates simply taken from the tasting menu. This proved very bad value both in the amount of food and the price.

Hubby and I tried Amuse on a very quiet Thursday afternoon - there was only one other table taken in the restaurant. The food was amazing and our waitress was very knowledgeable with wine recommendations. Yes the portions are small but with the richness of the food/foams/sauces we weren't complaining. Waitress also brought extra basket of freshly baked bread which was delicious. Definitely one to try again.

went for our anniversary after being there for lunch a few weeks earlier we decided to treat ourselves to the full tasting menu my wife is not a fish eater so we were a bit worried about the menu rang to book and was told no problem will do full meat tasting menu for her where to start its simply nothing like anything I have tasted in Dublin combination of flavours that sound like they shouldn't work but are amazing when you taste them I personally tried everything I don't like tuna but the tuna dish was fantastic they are really pushing the boat out with serious ingredients that seem to be very well sourced the staff were very professional its not cheap and it went on for a good 4 hours but as an experience it was well worth it. we will definitely be back next time for the 5 course menu

Food was A+, service was knowledgable, unfortunately the 2 course menu wasn't filling enough, even with a cheese plate to finish. We ended up getting burgers an hour after. I would save up and come back for the 6 course menu though as the food blew me away.

Went here for a bit of a christmas celebration and splashed out and got the 65e tasting menu. It was incredible. 65e sounds steep but this was absolutely worth it. We began with a triple amuse bouche, a celeriac foam, a caviar and avocado mango twirl and kind of onion twirl- amazing. What followed was 5 courses of of varied and unusual deliciousness. A particular highlight were the smokey sweet prawns, they had just a tiny hint of spice. Honestly one of the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted. Service was wonderful, and the house white was outstanding. Would definitely recommend. Top marks.
