Love this place! Great options from the menu, the pasta dishes are huge, so definitely be ready for a big meal! However it's no problem to take it home with you, unfortunately we were going out after and weren't able to take it with us, it was delicious! I ordered a side portion of olives and got a huge dish, which is the biggest I have gotten anywhere. The waiters are really nice and friendly and that makes all the difference in a restaurant. I got a tagliatelle dish and honestly it could have fed 3 people! So go here on a very empty stomach to get the best experience:)

Toscana is a big favourite of mine. The food is always delicious and is very reasonably priced. I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff who are always extremely friendly, helpful, efficient and accommodating. On my most recent visit I used a MenuPages voucher - 3 course meal for 2 with coffee for €40. Talk about a bargain! The portions were huge! I had fish cakes to start, a tower of seared fillet of seabass for the main and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. Everything was beautiful. I will definitely be returning.

I was invited here by a friend who had a voucher. We were seated immediately by the window so we had a nice view towards Dublin Castles gates and the City Hall. We both had the Calamari. I had expected it to be battered like most places, but this was perfectly cooked in a nice, light lemon sauce which was mopped up with some crusty bread. I had the Saltimbocca Alla Romana which was thin, but large, with a layer of parma ham over it served with chips (which I couldn't manage). My friend had the sea bass which was again a good portion, that came with roasted veg which she couldn't finish. We also had a bottle of house wine which was very good and was finished. The coffee was also very good. As it was a Sunday, there was some live music, which is advertised as on for 2 hours, but the lady sang for longer - there was mixture of French and Italian songs. The staff were very nice, attentive and did not make you feel rushed. It was very enjoyable and I'd go back again.

I've visited Toscana many times but this was the first time using a MenuPages voucher. I was worried that the food wouldn't be as good, but it was to the same yummy standard. The minute you walk into this place and hear the old fashioned bell ringing on the door, you feel as if you've been transported back in time to old Italy. The wait staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is excellent value, even without the voucher. If you visit you will return again and again,

This restaurant is very good. It is over three floors. The ground floor room is beautifully panelled. Ceiling fans and low lighting. The food we had on the night was very good Starters were Calamari with a lemon cream sauce and I think a bit of Dill. The Calamari were served without batter and so tender. Waiter dashing by commented we needed bread and he was right. None of the sauce was spared. I had sea bass for mains and friend had a pasta dish. Both again very good and serious portions. Staff were so pleasant, no rush to have us finish and leave. Value on specials great. (We were a la carte as we had a voucher. ). On Sunday night there is a really good singer in for a few hours. Altogether a really great evening . Highly recommend

Like other reviewers, I visited Toscana recently with an online discount voucher and was impressed from start to finish. The restaurant was full when we arrived at 8pm but service was prompt throughout. We shared the antipasto for 2 and it was lovely, great choice of meats, olives and roasted veg. There was a basket of chunky bread on hand too. By the time the mains arrived, we were almost full! The portion sizes were huge, too much for me to eat but the food was very tasty. Even without the voucher, this place offers great value. I have already returned for lunch and will return for dinner again soon.

A deal bought online introduced us to this lovely restaurant. great atmosphere, Sunday 6.00 to 8.00 they have a beautiful female singer from Sardinia with a lovely voice, and the food is absolutely excellent. We were on a deal, but the early bird and other menus were almost as good value. Large bottles of sparkling water are €2, we had two and they were not added to the bill and when I reminded them they waved it away, no charge. A generous glass of house wine was excellent, the stuffed pepper starter was delicious and almost a meal in itself, the salmon and steak main courses were both very good. We did not like the ice cream - flavour of almond in the strawberry? - but that is just a qustion of taste I imagine. Will definitely return, with or without another voucher. Can recommend wholeheartedly. Buon appetito!

I ate here with my girlfriend on a menupages offer. There was a another couple that were on the same offer. We were both seated downstairs away from the main restaurant between the kitchen doors and the entrance to the toilets and largely ignored for the night by the waiting staff presumably because it was pre-paid. The food was outstanding but we waited 40 mins for a starter, 50 mins for our Mains. I had the soup and hte veal which was cooked excellently and my girlfriend had the mushrooms and the sea bass. We waited a further 50 minutes to order dessert and the waiter brought the wrong desert. They did change it no problem and apologise but we sat down to eat at 8 and didn't get out until well after 11 which is a bit ridiculous. I would advise anyone to not accept a seat downstairs if on a voucher.

Went here on a surprisingly busy Wednesday night with a menupages deal voucher . Service was excellent , the waiters are so attentive and very authentic Italian , great atmosphere. Food was far better than we expected good selection from set deal menu , especially from the dessert menu ! We had a beautiful chicken in Parma ham & steak main which was generous and cooked to perfection . Can't wait to visit again ( hopefully with another great deal voucher!!)

Ate here recently with my boyfriend. Nice restaurant, though our table was a little too close to the couple next to us. Had to go through 3 menus before we received the menu that outlined the deal advertised on the board outside. Went for the menu that included wine with our meal. Choices were limited but the food itself was lovely - my boyfriend had the steak which was perfectly cooked. I had the linguine which was well cooked and hot too. The staff were friendly but preoccupied with a large group that were in the restaurant. The italian singers in the background added atmosphere. This was our third visit and we will return.

Came here for an evening meal with the other half, and very impressed with the restaurant! We didn't have a reservation but were seated quickly even though the place was quite busy..very nice atmosphere. Service was great, waiters very quick and attentive and simple little things that I've often seen neglected in the city (like a tableside cooler for the wine) were not over looked. Had the bruschetta to start which were delicious, and Toscana pizza for mains - also excellent! Would def recommend

I went here with 2 friends and while the evening was pleasant overall I wouldnt rush back here. I had the garlic mushrooms to start with but I just felt the dish lacked something. I had the Pasta Amatriciana next but the portion was a little large even for a pasta dish and bacon slices were very thickly sliced. I had Tirimasu for dessert which was nice but was not the best Ive ever had. The service was very good however as was the atmosphere. Overall I would return but it would not be on my top ten of restaurants in Dublin.

Had a meal here before Jimmy Carr gig in the Olympia. Had eaten here before. Missed the early bird by ten minutes and paid top prices for poor food. The chicken wings had no meat on them and fell off the bone before we could get them into our mouths. Also a tiny portion.Disgusting..I ordered Diavlo for main and got the smallest driest portion of chicken I ever had out. The chicken tasted like rubber too. My partner had the pasta with salmon which turned out to be a big pile of gloop.Tasted like it too. On the plus the house wine was fine and the service was o.k but we left saying never again.

We have been coming to Toscana's on Dame Street regularly, it is, for me, the best place to eat on a lazy Sunday evening with your family. Great atmosphere, amazing staff, quality food and all for a great price. Really, if you have not been here yet then you have to get booking.. it is amazing, only word for it!

I come to Toscana regularly for the early bird menu. The food is very good value for money, and very tasty. The atmosphere is very lively, it's quite noisy too. The service is alway very good. I would definatly recomend for an early bird.

I discovered this little gem of an Italian restaurant 10 years ago by chance as I was stopped at the traffic lights outside and what a find!!! we have dined there frequently ever since. we hadn't been in Toscana for awhile now as we had been so busy dining in various other restaurants that menu pages were running deals for. We did purchase a Toscana menu pages deal and we went on sun 13th Nov it just brought home to us how much we had missed this lovely, friendly, cosy fab food eatery that always presents top notch food at very reasonable prices :-). When we arrived we were welcomed by the very experienced, friendly waiters and were given a lovely table. I could not get over the make over Toscana has had it looks fab ( what a way to celebrate 10 years on Dame street) We did a tour down stairs and if you did not know you were in a restaurant in Dame street you would think you were in Italy itself --- Toscana have opened there own Winecellar in this part of the restaurant this area would make a cosy xmas party, family get together, wine and cheese tasting area as its away from the upstairs area and private for small groups.( a must see by all visitors). Also the added bonus was the live back round music that added a touch of romance to our evening which was presented by Rosanna & Riccardo who sang Italian tunes, including some English songs to suit everyones taste. We have always loved this restaurant and will be back more frequently. We have already booked our Xmas eve dinner there --------- what a way to kick start the festive season.

Pleasant surprise.. Toscana City Centre was a nice, and lively restaurant, and the quality of food was also very good. We had Bruschetta and Fish Balls as starter, Pasta as main, and Gelato and Tiramisu as dessert, and everything was very nice and tasty. Service was attentive, and we felt being looked after. Simply said, very well worth visiting. Early bird menu is also available.

Myself and my friends go to quite a few gigs in the Olympia in town and we'll more often than not pop into Toscana for a pre dinner meal. Its ideal. We have a light dinner and a few bottles of wine. Its always busy but staff are very accomodating and the food is very good. Would highly recommend.

My first visit and what a treat. I agree with the person who said the waiters were HOT HOT HOT. They sure were. If only we were 30 years younger. lol. The food was fab. I had smoked salmon for starters and salmon for main. Garlic potatoes to die for. My friend had prawns to start and Chicken for mains. Her plate was cleaned.I couldnt finish mine. We both agreed it was the best meal out we had for a long time and cant wait to go back. Lovely wine and service was excellent. We could have stayed all night except we were going to a show. Cant wait to go back. Would recommend to anyone. Great value for Dublin.

Used a deal I had bought one sunday evening. Suppli & sticky toffee pudding were a little disappointing. The suppli was a bit greasy and the sticky toffee pudding was more like a brownie. However, the seabass and tiramisu are very good. Upstairs is nicer than downstairs although they had some awful live music upstairs which made the restaurant so quiet you'd be afraid to talk. Friendly staff. Probably won't return.

We had a Gilrlie meal here tonight and when we first walked in and saw the place full of teenages we were a lilttle worried to say the least, The Staff reassured us telling us they would be gone soon enough (After winding us up telling us they were staying for the night) We were brought dowstairs to a lovely table and the Service was amazing, The Staff were ALL very friendly and approachableNot to mention HOT HOT Waiters :) Always a plus in my book. The Food was amazing and great prices too. I would definately recommend this place to anyone from Couples, to girls nights out.. Its a real treat :)

I visited this eatery with my sister and a mutual friend. The service was very pleasant and efficient and in addition the manager came to our table to have chat. Foodwise we all loved our meals. I started with a ministrone soup, my sister chose bruchetta whilst our friend had Suppli. For mains I had a fillet steak whilst the ladies both chose a pasta dish. As we were going to see a play we coundn't avail of desert which was a pity as I would loved to have tried one. Overall a most enoyable dining experience in an establishment that I would highly recommend.

Nicest pasta dish I've had in ages was in here, a creamy thick tagatelli, with a cream and white wine sauce, with chunky pieces of succulent chicken, and cheeky lashings of parmesan cheese! Not to mention the fabulous suppli I had to start - along with a lovely dry crisp Italian white, it made for a really lovely meal. My boyfriend was pretty happy with his choice too, a juicy steak, cooked just the way he liked it, medium rare, with fries & a nice green salad. Good to see this place busy & they do seem to be doing well in the tourist trade. Nice to see waiters with a bit of a fun personality too!

cant get enough of this place, every occasion i always suggest this place, friendly staff and food is very very good. portion size isnt as big as use to be but still acceptable, i like my big portions. tend to get the meatballs for starter and the penne entrecote or arrabiata for mains with some profiteroles for dessert. squid rings are good too and friends are mad for the bruschetta. nice bottle of rose d'anjou also is perfect addition to wash down with meal.

Even when we don't set out to go to Toscana we invariably end up here if somewhere else doesn't work out! Being right on Dame Street makes it very convenient for starting a night here. Their food is fantastic with generous portions and really reasonable prices. It's nearly always busy at the weekends. Usually though, if you wander up without a reservation they'll do their best to get you in. Favourites on the menu include the starters of filo prawns with chilli sauce and the bruschetta is some of the best I've had! The Penna Amatriciana is my go-to on the menu and never disappoints. I can't remember the name but there's a seafood pasta which is fantastic as well. They have a great wine menu and a good selection of desserts. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait when it's busy at the weekend. You might not get the fastest service in the world but the food/atmosphere is worth the wait!

My friend and I ordered from the early bird menu which was good value and offered a nice selection of food. I had the suppli to start and salmon for the main. Both were delicious. My friend had garlic mushrooms to start and salmon for the main. She also enjoyed her meal. We were both stuffed by the end. The service was terrific, as always. I have been to this restaurant many times and will keep coming back. I would recommend the tiger prawns as they are gorgeous! The atmosphere was nice and relaxed last night as it was quite early. Normally the place is packed and buzzing. I would recommend making a reservation if you plan to go on a Friday or Saturday night as it is always busy

Thanks to menu points we had a lovely evening in Toscana.... We used my menu points to avail of the offer of manager's choice wine which was quite nice. We shared the tiger prawns in filo pastry to start & shared the exceptionally tasty sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I had the cannelloni for main which was lovely and my friend had the chicken in white wine sauce... This was also really tasty & made using good quality chicken... Our lovely waiter offered us complimentary after dinner drinks so we each had a very generous baileys coffee... The service was excellent... We were checked on but just right; not too often & not too little... In total with our wine compliments of Menu Pages points & baileys compliments of Toscana the bill came to €43....

Had an opportunity to use a menupages voucher for an meal in Toscana last night so we got a free bottle of house wine which was nice to go with our midweek special menu. The early bird here is €17.95 for a two course menu but if you ask for the special offer menu you can get it for €14.95 for a much smaller limited menu. Even so, there are some nice dishes on it. I chose chicken wings and ravioli. The wings were delicious and a lovely hot sauce, and the ravioli was good also. My dining partner chose the soup and the chicken and he enjoyed it also. This was my first time dining here and I would definitely come back!!

You can't beat the lunch deal! And better yet, the food and service belie the fact that you are paying so little. Went for the brushetta to start - would be worth going back for that alone. Had the canneloni for the main, which was very nice also, but hard to beat the starter! Definitely worth a trip for lunch at the least.

Went here for a couple's dinner. The restaurant was not overly busy at the time, which suited us perfect- no speaking over loud crowds and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Both my partner and I felt the meal itself was thoroughly enjoyable- the banoffi dessert in particular was lovely! However it was difficult at times to get the waiter's attention for drink top ups, despite the fact that there were not many people in the restaurant at the time.

Three of us ate here on Saturday night and we had starters, mains and one dessert. Overall the food was delicious, their bruschetta is just amazing, the best I've ever tasted but be warned, it's very strong with garlic! The only gripe I'd have with the place is that they don't have a clue how to make a good Irish coffee. I was with 2 friends from overseas and one of them really wanted one. In hindsight we should have waited till we got back into an Irish pub. The cream was whipped and there was far too much whiskey in them, but we drank them anyway. The service overall was very good but I burnt my finger on my main course dish, the waiter didn't warn me that it was piping hot. Only I stuck it straight into my glass of water, I'd have had a massive blister on it. If you like bruschetta, you must go to this restaurant, it really is excellent.

We have been to Toscana in Dun-laoghaire on numerous occasions and loved everything about it. That is why when we were meeting up with people in Dublin city centre we decided to go to the sister restaurant. That was a mistake. The food was terrible. the only thing Italian about the food was the names of the dishes. The music was so load that we had to shout at each other. The service was certainly NOT with a smile.

I first ate here three years ago and when I'm going out for food, I always choose it as I'm always guaranteed a great evening. Although it can feel a bit crowded when it's busy, the waiters are lovely, don't intrude too much and the value is great - early bird will leave you stuffed and some of the best dishes from the main menu are included in it. I would recommend - and have! - Toscana's to everyone I know; if you haven't been, you're missing out!

Ate here for the first time last Thursday. The early bird menu is good value, 2 courses for €17.95. The is a good choice on the menu. I had the bruschetta to start which was nice although the bread a little hard. I had meatballs with spagetti for main course which was really nice. We got the menupoints offer with this, a free bottle of wine for 1500 points which was great. I found the service a bit much as the staff kept appearing at the table beside us while we were eating to ask was everything is ok. This is fine in moderation but it was a little excessive as at one stage I think they were looking to take the plates and we hadn't finished eating. Also at the end, we got the bill from another person to the one that had served us and she tried to add money onto the bill for the wine, surely after the other waiter taking the voucher and giving us our wine, this shouldn't have been an issue. It was busy and the atmosphere was fine for a Thursday. The main point that disappointed me was that under the table was dirty, there was food on the floor that wasn't from us. I don't know if I would return for this reason.

This was my first time dining in Toscana and I just thought it was about time I gave the 2 courses for €10 lunch a go. I was not disappointed. There is a really great selection on the menu for a set special. Both myself and my friend both opted for the Bruschetta which, being one of my firm favourite starters did not fail to impress. Was absoloutely delicious. I then opted for the vegetable risotto while she had a pizza with 3 toppings of her choice. We sat for quite some time after our food with some wine and I could tell that it was going to be really busy that evening as the tables were filling up fast. The only downside was that they were carrying out some maintenance drilling of walls while we were there but apart from that I really enjoyed it. Would definitely return

Had such a lovely experience in Toscana last night with my family. Friends of ours recommended we should book and we were happy we did as it was really busy! Service was quick and our waitress was lovely and polite. Food was devoured and our meal came to a reasonable price which we were surprised as we ate so much amazing food. Must also mention their homemade desserts. YUMM! Will return again.... 10 out of 10

Sunday evening my friends and I dined at Toscana. They had Italian live music playing when we were there (around 7pm until 9pm) which was lovely and relaxing. It gave a great atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed their evening. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the service was spot on. I always come to Toscana for special occassions and in big groups as they are only one of restaurants who handle groups properly but It was a nice change to enjoy Toscana with a few friends. We all devoured our food and the homemade desserts are just to die for! The salads and vegetabes are advertised as organic and you can really taste the difference! 5 stars as usual Toscana. I'll be back again very soon. Highly recommended

Once again I give Toscana restaurant a 5 star!.. Came here for my birthday party last Friday night with a group of 24 friends. They all seem to chose that we returned to Toscana, for the 5th time this year! The place was buzzing and great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and charming which also made our night. We were seated upstairs at the front of the restaurant and the food was delish as usual! The group menu had a great choice of food from steak to tiger prawns! Absolutely gorgeous. Will definately be returning soon and so will all my friends. Nobody can beat a bit of Toscana!

I usually give this resturant a great review as i have always enjoyed my experiences here, but yesterday on St. Patricks day we visited for my brothers birthday and the service + delays were abominable! We waited 2hr for our main course and were told several times it would be 2min. It was ridiculous so much so i don't think i will ever go back and i was a regular visitor. Staff didn't seem to care how long we had been waiting, they almost laughed and said what can i do. Very irritating when you are paying for a meal which is not cheap!

A wonderful find, joined a group of friends last saturday night and loved their choice. The food was fantastic, all of us commented on the delicious flavours, they seem to grow their own vegetables and herbs and I think it came through in the food. Service was prompt and very friendly, our size group did not pose a problem. Great atmosphere. Well reccommended. Well priced.

only problem with this place is popularity. we always end up under ground even when we book for upstairs. this time we were fed at 11 for an 8pm booking - no apology, no free wine. just left to go hungry

Tried to go here on two occasions but it was always full and there seemed to be a great atmosphere so I made a reservation, thought the business would be a good sign... Food was very disappointing. We had crostini and bruschetta to start. No basil in the bruschetta and could hardly taste any garlic. The bread the crostini was on felt like normal loaf, just thickly sliced. Main courses were meatballs and cannelloni. The top of the cannelloni was burned to so it chewy to the point of being inedible. We skipped dessert. Service was great though! Lovely waitress. Overall, disappointing. A full restaurant obviously doesn't necessarily mean quality food!

We went here on Saturday night to celebrate my Sisters Birthday with a party of 9. Specifically asked not to be put downstairs but we were seated downstairs. My sister had rang on the Saturday morning to reconfirm the booking and the request. We arrived at 8.30 but were left standing upstairs in a very crowded doorway for about 15 mins. They seemed not to know about the booking and eventually put some tables together downstairs. The service was dreadfull and when we complained they tried to tell us we only just walked in after us being seated downstairs for nearly an hour. Have been to Toscana many a time but after our experience on Sat none of us will be back. Not even an apology at the end of the evening from the staff.

Had only been here a week ago, but decided to go again for Sunday lunch with my boyfriend. As usual, food was flawless - their mozzarella and tomato salad is to die for! And the tricolour spinach & funghi penne was also delicious, defintely nicest pasta I have ever had! The choc fudge cake finished it off nicely :) There weren't many people there but I guess it was only 3pm on a Sunday!

Very comfortable restaurant with seating downstairs as well. Very friendly staff managed to squeeze us in even though they were very busy. I'd recommend a reservation. The food is as authentic as you will get outside Italy! Good portions, especially the meatball starter, which I have seen served as a main course in other restaurants! A nice place to linger.

Had food from the early bird menu. 3 courses for 17.95 was excellent value. I was there with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is nice, beautiful room, friendly staff. For starters we had chicken wings and brushetta. The wings were dressed in a very nice sauce. Not bad. Brushetta was delicious. Came out very quickly too. Mains - we had creamy chicken pasta which was very nice and meatballs. The meatballs tasted very home made and the tomatoe sauce was very nice. Dessert was profitteroles. nice but nothing special. The staff were very attentive and we really enjoyed the place.

Had quite a delicious meal in Toscana earlier this evening. It's a small and very busy restaurant. The meal couldn't be faulted, from presentation to flavour, everything was really good. Service was prompt and not intrusive.Like most Italian restaurants, the tables are rather close together, which can be counter-productive if you want to have a quiet chat without diners at the next table overhearing you, or vice versa. Have to admit, wasn't hugely impressed with the location of our table, but it was a question of taking what we could as the restaurant was filling up very quickly. Would consider visiting Toscana again, but not in the near future.

It's difficult enough to get a table without a booking in Toscana, but we were lucky enough this evening to get a table with no bother. Even though it was very early evening when we got there, the restaurant was busy enough, and it filled up quickly as the evening wore on, with pre-theatre people. Hadn't been here for quite a few years but the food was as good as the last time! Lovely menu and good choice on offer, particularly for those interested in availing of the early-bird options. Service was quick, staff friendly and food cooked to perfection. Not really being 'dessert people' we were tempted by the Tiramisu, and what a delight it was! Two courses each, with a bottle of house wine, two coffees and the Tiramisu came to €62 - pretty good value overall.

One of my favourite places to eat in the city centre. The staff are always very friendly and accomodating. On this occasion I visited on a busy Friday evening with 2 friends. I ordered the bruschetta to start, a firm favourite of mine, followed by the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. All of this was washed down with a delicious bottle of house red. No doubt I'll be back!

Great little place. Very atmospheric and warming and the waiters seem to go the extra mile to be friendly and accommodating. On the night we went in, my wife ordered the penne arrabiatta, which she said was one of the nicest she had ever tasted. I had their pizza, which was extremely tasty but perhaps a little heavy, I would ask for a more thin crust the next time. The house wine is very good value and there is always a great buzz in the place with at least one person been sung happy birthday to by the waiters. Highly recommended.

I visited here last night with a group of girls from work. Absolutely brilliant night! We were seated to the back of the restaurant which meant we were nicely tucked away whilst also getting the brilliant atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff were very attentive, constantly making sure we were ok for everything. They were also quite friendly and able for a bit of banter. We went for the Christmas menu. One of our party did not like any of the starters but had no problem switching for a starter from the a la carte menu. Also one of our party was quite late but they had no problem rushing through her order so she could catch up with the rest of us. If anything the only complaints I would have had were that the portion sizes were too big (which can't really be classed as a complaint) and that the crumble perhaps was too heavy on the crumble topping and a bit light on the fruit. Will definitely return and would recommend.

Myself and BF went here for a quick bite after work on Fri evening. We were really warmly welcomed and given a lovely table beside the window! Service was excellent, our waiter was so attentive throughout the meal and so pleasant. Menu was good, everything you would except from a good Italian! I had a salad any my BF had the Lasagne. We were both delighted with the food, service and price, will definitely be back!!

Myself, my boyfriend and my parents went here for my college Graduation meal. OH WOW is all I can really say! The waiter who served us was lovely, real Italian wit and sense of fun. He laughed with us, joked with us and made us feel really special. He was more than happy to suggest foods as well as Italian beers. The starters were gorgeous!! A huge variety with something there for everyone! The mains were...Stunning! Between us we had pizza, seafood pasta, two steaks and a folded over pizza all of which we loved and raved about! The deserts were a delight and big enough for 5 of us to share 3! The location is perfect, very easy to find and not at all far from the Luas line. I can't wait to go back! I really can't praise this place enough, absolutely no complains from any of us picky eaters! Perfect Italian Cuisine! 5 Stars!

Service was friendly and very quick. The early bird special was great value and a nice range of choice. The food was very taste with an infusion of tastes, we had the house red wine which was smooth and complimented the food well. The only thing I'd was the waiter was very cheesy towards the girls, but your not there for the waiters its the food and this was super.

Atg in Toscana on a Sat night. It was very busy and although we had booked a table, it seemed like we were lucky to get a table. Instead of being shown to our table, a table for six was sort of pointed at (meaning that we should make our way there!), although we had only booked a table for 4. The food was ok. I started with tiger prawns with a sweet chilli sauce. The prawns were overdone, small, and the sauce wasn't a sweet chilli sauce. The mains were just ok too. I had a steak and chips. The plate was mainly filled with chips, lots of chips. We asked for water glasses three times before we got them, without any apology! From a good selection of desserts, there were only three desserts left, and this was at only 9.30 p.m. Would not be in a hurry back.

There was about 6 of us out that night to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. It was an utterly bad experience. The waiting before we actually ordered and the starter was over an hour. The waiter didn't even remember half of the orders. The same happened again for our mains. We spent more than 2hours just on the waiting for the food! Appalling service in every sense of the word. The waiters were rude and did not seem to realize that we had been waiting a very long time for our orders to come. Even though the food was tasty, the service was so bad that it puts us off. We will NOT be returning again.

Having eaten a fantastic meal here a couple of months ago I decided to pay a second visit. The meal was very nice, but I have to say not as nice as last time. I think Toscana has gone a little like a lot of Italian restaurants - convenient rather than traditional. Service was attentive and friendly while food was not as nice as usual. Wines are of good value and a decent selection in relation to whats on the food menu. I will be back though!

4 persons for early bird menu on Sat last, booked for 5.30, we arrived a few mins late, no problem, got seated immediately, opted for the "late bird menu" and proceeded to have one of the best meals in a while, service very prompt and waiter very atten tive, without being in your face. bring your appetite as portions are big. The starter of Mozarella croquette In highly recommend.only prob we had was the lighting(where we were) was very subdued...........other than that great place, great food and service. we will be back for sure.

This was my third time to go to this restaurant. The food here is always of high quality and the service excellent. I had Chicken wings as a starter which were nice. I then had a sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection. I had asked for it rare and it came out rare. The garlic butter was beautiful too. The side of chips were also well cooked and crisp. I would also like to compliment the staff as we had not booked and they managed to go out of their way to fit all five of us in on a busy night. Service was a little slow but our waiter apologised over this on a couple of occasions and this whilst a small thing is a nice touch and means that people know they have not been forgotten about. We picked the house wine and it was pertfectly adequate and not overpriced. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Two of us went for a quick bite to eat before the theatre. No starters and both had Pasta for mains. My girlfriend had a tomato with beef which was good. I had the carbonara which was decent but not amazing. Good value though and would go back again.

I was very happy when I saw the place had reduced their lunch menu, but the redution shows in the food. The suppli is still fab, the staff are still great, but the main courses have declined a lot in my opinion. Its is disappointing as I loved the place so much. Hopefully it will change back soon!

Visited Toscana on a VERY busy Thursday night, with 4 other ladies. We had booked for the early bird menu, but one of our party was running late from work - but the staff were very accommodating about this and did not complain despite the place being so busy. Food was delicious, I had meatballs followed by lasagna. Huge portions. The place was a little cramped but I think that added to buzz and atmosphere. The staff were also remarkably friendly. Definitely a place I will return to. Perfect location for nearly Vicar St and the Olympia

Our starters were delicious and brought out at a reasonable time after arriving. However, after finishing these and after 40 mins of waiting for the mains we were told that as I ordered the Gluten Free pasta that this was causing a delay, as it had to be cooked fresh. From my own experience GF pasta will not take anywhere near this. When our meals were finally brought out it was clear that our order had been forgotten. THe chicked my fiancee had ordered was dry and cold as it had been sitting under the lights. My GF pasta was severly undercooked. We sent both back and asked for the bill. We were charged for the starters and left. Before leaving we were offered a free drink as compensation (for a couple who had sat there for 2 hours without drinking alcohol we found this mediocre response) The waiters didn't seem to care that we were left waiting and the fact that they platently lied and tried to cover up a mistake which if explained we would have been more than reasonable about. Overall we spent 2 hours and recieved only starters, missed our movie and has a miserable night. The food seemed promising from the starters, but with the service we received we will not be returning

Has the early bird here a couple of weeks ago, thought that the food could have been of a better quality but given the price and quantity of the food though it was good value. The tables are fairly quashed together so not very romantic. Dont think id go back. However if your looking for a quick bite before a show its handy located on Dame st.

A group of us had dinner here recently. Being used to good, affordable Italian food, we found the place to be over-priced, the food far from fantastic, and the wine selection not the best. The food was rather bland, and the seafood was not fresh. The service was somewhat bad at first, although it was remedied towards the end of our dinner. Will give it another try though.

I ate here with a group of friends. Previously when I had eaten here I found every dish to be too garlicky so on this occasion I chose dishes with no garlic in them. To start I had the suppli. The portion was very big. I found them to be bland. For main course I had Tagliatelle Alla Toscana which was lovely and creamy. The service here is very good. The tables can be a bit cramped. The desserts are great, especially the chocolate cake.

Toscana is a great Italian restaurant, the best I’ve been in Ireland so far. The food is delicious, the “brochette”, the pastas, the pizzas, everything fabulous. It is a romantic restaurant and the service is very quick and the staff extremely friendly. I’ve been there in a hurry to catch up a theatre and they where amazingly quick to my request without the food losing anything. I’ve also been there last week with a group, we where 10 and the food was served all at the same time and pretty quickly. They have a 12,5% charge for groups, but is deserve it, because the service and the food are in a high standard.

Been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and decided anniversary was the date. The staff are extremely friendly and the atmosphere was great with fantastic Italian music in the background. I chose from the early bird menu which had an excellent choice and my boyfriend went a la carte. The portions are generous and the food very good. There were some birthday parties in for the evening and I would definitely consider it for a special occassion again. Can't wait to go back!

I've been here many times over the last few years and usually have a really nice meal. I went last Friday evening which was as busy as ever - I love the atmosphere here and no matter how busy it is the service is always great...however I find the tables are slightly squashed together especially upstairs so not really the place for a quiet chat! I had the suppli for starter and then the Pollo Toscana - I pretty much get the same thing each time I come here as I love it...the only problem I had was that the inside of the suppli was still slightly cold. And to be honest it's happened to me once before when I was there. Other than that though everything was perfect, a lovely main couse and lovely wine and not too expensive. Great for a nice bite to eat so long as you don't want a peaceful quiet evening as it gets really busy on the weekend!

We visited this restaurant on a recent trip to dublin as it looked busy and they had what looked like good value specials. On entering the place was packed, the tables are very on top of each other. I ordered the garlic mushrooms to start, they came out covered in a creamy sauce that tasted like cambells soup and I couldnt taste much garlic. My main course was supposed to be chicken in a creamy wine and mushroom sauce. When it arrived it was the exact same sauce that my previous "garlic" mushrooms arrived in. The chicken was dry, the chips overdone and to be honest it was a struggle to get through it. My boyfriend ordered chicken wings to start which he enjoyed. His maincourse was pasta with chicken and tiger prawns in a creamy sauce (Again same as mine, they must be buying in bulk!). The tiger prawns still had shells on and due to the extremely poor lighting he didnt see that until it was in his mouth. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant Im afraid, Ive had much better quality food for less money!

My Boyfriend & i have been here about 6 six time over the last few years & we are never dissapointed. It is always quite busy at weekends so its advised to book at table early in the week if you plan on going Fri-Sun,I love the atmosphere in here & the lighting is always romantic. The was the first restaurant i went to with my boyfriend & we were so impressed we couldnt help but go back. The food is really good so if you love Italian food you cant go wrong. Its not the cheapest of Restaurants but you get what you pay for & they always have a good wine selection. So if your looking for a romantic Italian Restuarant for to go for a special occassion Toscano will suit you.

Went there on a Monday night at about 7pm as it had a early bird special menu on all day. It was my sister- in- laws birthday and we booked in a table for 8. The service was great as they let us bring our own cake and made a big deal for her by turning off the lights and singing for her..she was embarressed but you could see she loved it.The only negative thing I'd say was that the main course of chicken tagliatelle (most of us had this) was quite bland and not quite as good as I've had at most Italian places. Saying that I didn't expect anything mind blowing for a set menu.

Love this restaurant! Food is great, atmosphere is great, perfect start to a night out, really buzzy place. Staff really friendly, great value for money. Only critism is tables are very close together, but this kind of adds to the buzzy atmosphere. Great place for a date, meeting friends, girls nite out etc Be sure to book as place is very busy. Highly recommend it!

Had dinner with a friend here last night. We shared chicken wings to start, a bit disappointing. I had a delicious linguine with meatballs main course, but my friend's pizza was dry and a bit bland. The highlight of the meal was the delicious Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand that was their wine offer of the month for just €20. Total bill came to €51 - good value, but I would say for the quality of the food you wouldn't want to be paying much more.

Visited here, alone on tuesday night. Why do waiter seem so worried about lone custmers, the service was excellent, if a little over done! The food is grand. the mozzarella and rice balls were very heavy and the little side salad was covered ina terriible marie rose mayo, just don't know why.I had the pollo diavlo for mains, don't understand the diavlo, not a little bit spicy, only over garlicky, i asked for the side salad without dressing, much better, this could have come with chips but i was too full after the starter. this palce is lovely for a family meal or young lovers on first date, but it is not fine dining, nor does it claim to be, the food is fine the wine list is fine, the service is very good, i'd rather not come again without friends.

Like this place a lot - only problem I would have is the rushed feeling --- they want you in and out so that they can get the next customers at the table --- i know its a business --- but let people enjoy their food --- you pay good money - u should be able to relax a little after your dinner not sent packing! That said --- great food!

what a little gem! lovely cosy atmosphere and really friendly staff..and more importantly the food was excellent..the dinner for 2 offer was unbelievable value (2 starters, 2 mains & bottle of wine for e60!) and the menu had a wide range of choices..i probably chose the same thing as i would have if i was ordering from the normal menu! portions are huge too..and to top it all off, the offer is available all night so no annoying time restrictions! will definitely be back!

Think this might become our favourite Italian restaurant. We went to Toscana for a Valentines dinner on sat. Although the place was packed, the atmosphere was great. The music was on loud enough for us not to hear other people's (who were sitting very close to us) conversations, but quiet enough for us to hear each other. The staff was very attentive and nice. We started of with white wine which we got with menupoints. I was afraid that since it was "managers" choice it could be the cheapest, poorest white wine in the house. I'm happy to say I was wrong, the wine was Italian indeed and was lovely. We got the set menu for 29.95 each and it was lovely - great food, great value. Wouldn't have my valentines meal any better. It's a great place for romantic meals as well as girls nights out I'd say. From what I noticed all waiters were Italian, something that will be appreciated by the ladies (the amazing Italian accent i mean haha). We will definitely come back.

The BEST Italian in town!!...I used to go to Toscana nearly every couple of weeks but after a hiatus I returned in December with my mother & it was so good I returned with my whole family in early january for my birthday. Toscana's starters alone would fill you, the garlic mushrooms are so creamy and no batter only adds to them. The brushetta is big enough to share but so tasty its hard to do. And the selection of mains is so broach that it covers pasta & pizza lovers whilst also catering to the non italian lovers with salmon & steak dishes. My whole family loved it and are already looking to return

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch and as I have been here a number of times for dinner I was expecting great things but it was not to be. My boyfriend ordered the bruschetta and when it came it was swimming in olive oil, it was a soggy mess, it wasn't even edible. Our other courses were fine, nothing special. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant as there was only 2 other couples in the place and I would say the reason for that is that their lunch deal isn't great value. You pay full price for your main and get a starter free but when the mains can go up to €14.50 you could end up spending nearly €30.00 without a tea or coffee or a drink. For lunch I think this is a bit steep when there is restaurants nearby doing starters, mains and a drink for less than 10eur. I won't be back.

I went there with friends and availed of the offer for two which was a starter, main course and a bottle of wine for €60. The food was fantastic, I had a beef pasta dish which was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was very busy but the service was fantastic. The atmposphere and lovely wine made for a great evening.

I visited Toscana on Saturday night hoping for a relaxing evening with some decent Italian food and few glasses of wine shared with my other half (I travelled around Italy last summer so my expectations towards food were high). Having heard mixed reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect so I had no big expectations. However, my experience was brilliant. The fact that all the waiters are Italian adds a lot to it as I felt like I am back in Italy again :) For starters I had king prawns with chilli sauce, they were lovely and my boyfriend had the mozzarella cheese with garlic dip which was very, very tasty. For mains I had three colour tagliatelle which I found really delicious and my boyfriend had a pizza which was in both our opinions only ok but still tasty. For dessert we shared banoffi pie which was very big and yummy. Generally we were very pleased with our food but for me the atmosphere made the night. As Italians do, all the staff is very relaxed and the service is quite slow, so if you are in a rush you might be slightly disappointed. I actually enjoyed the fact we weren’t rushed and spent I think almost 3 hrs enjoying our meal!! There was someone’s birthday that evening and the lights were turned off and everyone started to sing, then they played lovely, very loud Italian music which I thought was just fabulous. I will definitely visit Toscana again. I would recommend it for a couple’s night out, friends and girls get together. VIVA ITALIA!!! ;)

We saw the specials for this restaurant on their website and decided to try it on Friday night as we were meeting friends in town. We were sitting at 7pm, and a good number of the restaurants around the area were sparsely populated, but not Toscana’s, they were very busy, with all tables full. This lead to a very pleasant atmosphere, which was helped by our waiter, who was very good; he was friendly, helpful and funny. We ordered from the set menu which gives 2 courses for 2 people and a bottle of wine for €60, with an option to get a desert for €3. I was surprised by the choices on offer, which included steak and seafood options amongst the more standard set menu fare of chicken and salmon. I had the garlic mushrooms to start which were thankfully not bread-crumbed, but came in rich creamy sauce. They were plentiful. For the main course I ordered the chicken and tiger prawn linguini. This was delicious; the tiger prawns were more like langoustines in size and flavour. We opted for the white wine, which was very quaffable and a definite crowd pleaser. My fiancé and I shared a desert which was apple crumble, a bit small but had a nice texture and was warmed through. Coffees were strong!. Two of our party had the steak and it was as good as I’ve tasted in a while. This definitely gets my recommendation, and I will be back.

I've visited Toscana on a regular enough basis in the past, usually for lunch, and have never had a bad experience. Unfortunately on tonights visit this changed. As the evening was very busy, my friend and myself were seated down stairs, tucked away from most other diners, this was acceptable. What wasn't was that the waiter seemed to forget we were there, out of sight- out of mind. When we eventually got our drink and food orders in we were again left sitting and waiting, and waiting. Our starters were fine and we told the waiter so, but the steak on our main was so over done the steak knife had a job getting through it. This was pointed out to the waiter, who shrugged, mumbled something and walked off only to return to collect our plates of unfinished food and hurridly took our order for coffee and request for the bill. The bill, well they didn't acknowledge that we had complained, didn't offer a complimentary coffee, in fact we got the feeling that they just didn't seem bothered about our experience, an experience I might add that I hope will not sit through again. I would be very reluctant to return.

Nice cheap and cheerful Italian - went there with a friend for a quick bite after work. The waiters are really nice, good fun and friendly and brought us are menus straight away, we shared the antipasto to start which was very nice (all the usual italian meats, smoked salmon, it could have done with a bit more cheeses) We both had pizzas for the main, they were good but not great, very nicely cooked toppings wise, but the base was soggy and not very crisp. Had their Italian house red to drink, which was really lovely. The atmosphere in the place was fab mainly due to the cheerful staff, and some of the pasta dishes on the menu looked very tasty so will definitely be back to try one of those.

I've been to this restaurant a few times but after last night I don't think I'll be returning. When we arrived we were shown to our table. It was downstairs through a few rooms and we were placed at the back table. The first thing we noticed was that our table was literally on front of a fire exit blocking it. The table beside us looked disgruntled and asked the waiter if they could order drinks now. A couple sat opposite us with no menu. We were given the menu and ordered our drinks straight away. When the waiter return with our drinks we gave him our food order. He wasn't the most pleasant of people! The table beside us still didn't receive their drinks asked to me moved. I noticed the couple opposite us still had not received a menu yet!!! We only ordered mains and after 45 minutes I asked a waiter how much longer our food would be. He wasn't too happy with my question and said he would find out, he never returned. 15 minutes later I asked our waiter if our food was ready, again he said he would check and he never returned. We were debating to leave, and just then our food came. They got our order wrong but he told them we did not want to wait any long. Again no apology. We finished our meal and the waiter came over and took our plates (without asking if we were finished). We asked for the bill and it was brought to our table and nothing was said. I asked to speak with the manager. When the manager came down he went to the wrong table and apologised to the WRONG TABLE! When he came back down again we came over to us and I explained everything that happened. He said he was very sorry and took 2 drinks off the bill. We were all very unhappy leaving and for somewhere so central and does nice food, I can't see myself returning unless I plan on spending the whole night there!!

Really enjoy eating here. The food is excellent and the place is always busy. We went on a Saturday night so a booking was essential! We were seated upstairs and the only complaint I'd have was that the music was quite loud and this combined with the usual noise from a busy restaurant meant at some times I felt we were shouting! Service is quick and this mightn't suit some people who like to spend awhile over their meals but it suited us as we were rushing on to the Movies. Would really recommend it as a good place to get excellent Italian food.

Have eaten in Toscanas several times and again this time they lived up to our expectations, the food was good, i had the bruschetta to start which was nice but was overdone with garlic but a friend had the stuffed mushrooms which were delicious. For main course i had the spaghetti carbonara which was lovely. Although the place was packed, we were nestled down stairs to an area of our own. As i booked through menupages we got a complimentary bottle of house wine which was lovely. Definitely worth going to and i will certainly return

Good variety of food on the menu, plenty of specials to choose from too and most of the food is quite decent. Expensive wine list, but you can't have everything.

Have eaten here many times and it never fails. Munched on Bruchetta to start and then had the Pollo Toscana for a change, as I would normally have a pizza. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the value for money is brilliant. Will return again and again and again.

Met friends here for dinner and had a really lovely evening. The food is delicious and very good value, the portions are a bit on the big side. The staff are very friendly and the service is spot on. I would recommend this restaurant. I also had lunch there recently and it is excellent value.

Went for dinner and Christmas catch up with friends last night and really enjoyed it. The food was pretty good, had the pasta as a main course, but the portions are very large particularly if you have a starter. Its a pity to leave food to waste. Thats my only gripe. The waiters were friendly and attentive and it wasnt bad value for money for three people. Happy to go back

I had the most delicious vegetarian pizza here, so flavoursome, and my friend had the tiger prawn dish and loved everything about it except the price. Really nice restaurant, with really fresh ingredients, I'd return!

Had lunch here with work one evening so there was a few of us. The service was pretty good and the food wasn't bad. Nothing special mind you. Becareful with the Burchetta though, WAAAAY to much garlic, so much so that i'm pretty sure it "burned" the inside of my mouth!!! (and plus i reeked of garlic for the rest of the evening!) I'd probably go back though as it was decent fare at the end of the day for a good price!

I went here on a first date (with my now boyfriend) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was quite nervous at the beginning of the night but the atmosphere of this restaurant really put me at ease! Not to mention the food being delicious! I had a really lovely bruschetta for starters and thought it was gorgeous, could really taste how fresh and flavorsome the ingredients were. Same goes for pizzas here. And last but not least, the banoffee pie was the best I've ever tried! Banter was also great with our waiter, really added to our night!! This restaurant was the reason for our second date!!

I visited here for the early bird dinner with some friends recently and found it to be quite a mixed bag. For starters 3 of us ordered the bruschetta. The portion was pretty generous, but we were all completely overwhelmed by the amount of garlic added! There was so much it actually ruined the rest of the meal for me personally as all I could taste after that was garlic. For mains we got a mix of pasta dishes which were good, but couldn't finish them becuase the starter was so large. Some of the group made it to dessert, all of which looked and tasted great (despite the garlic aftertaste) The staff were lovely though, very helpful and brought plenty of jugs of water etc to the table.

Was a little nervous booking for a group of 18 people who were over celebrating a birthday from across the water but you didn't disappoint! Everyone commented on the very friendly and efficient service, not to mention the delicious food we enjoyed - I had the tomato, mozzerella and avocado salad to start and fish skewer for mains, both were delicious. The meatballs starter was also well received by all accounts! I availed of the Menupoints bottle of wine offer x2, great idea! Many thanks for helping make my friends birthday so memorable. Apologies to the previous reviewer, it was probably our group that made the restaurant a little crowded!

I visited the restaurant with my boyfriend for a romantic meal. We left very pleased after devouring two mouthwatering desserts-bannoffi pie which was clearly home made and worth every sweet calorie along with a healthy portion of tiramisu icecream. Surprisingly we were able to eat them after completing two courses prior to that, both of which were ok. Starters were nice but nothing worth writing about we had calamari and filo wrapped prawns. Mains were a little more impressive with the fish special of the day a whole trout served with steamed veg and chips (could have done without the frozen chips) and linguine with a cream sauce and good amount of chicken and the biggest prawns I have ever eaten, and I have eaten some prawns in my time. They were so big they actually looked like lobster tail! All in all a good experience, a little crowded for a romantic meal but good service and quality for money.....

Great value for money, excellent service and fantastic food! We availed of the Menupages free bottle of wine offer (with 1500menu points) and the wine did not disappoint - an Australian Cabernet Merlot (priced at 19.95). The menu offered something for everyone. For starters I chose the Bruschetta - a man-sized portion to feed 2 people with fresh tomoatoes and garlic. My companion chose the Calamari - Our waiter was quick to point out that it was not deep fried much to the delight of my partner. I chose the Vegetarian Pizza and my partner the prawns - which were plentiful (4 large gambas). The portion sizes are huge so ensure you visit on an empty tummy. The early bird menu is obviously proving very successful as the restaurant was packed come 6:30 with very attentive and prompt service from the charming staff.

While the atmosphere was lively, I did not enjoy my visit. We went for a quick bite before a vicar st show last night and was very dissapointed. Service was very slow, leaving us just time for one course. While my boyfriends meat lasagne was fine, my veggie pasta was really not tasty, could eat half of it, and pasta is my favourite food! Left feeling we had overpaid for bad servive and below par food.

Went on a sat with two other friends and the food was amazing and the price was brill for 3 courses early bird. Only complaint would have been the service we only got two main courses and had to wait for the 3rd so that was bit dissapointing but doesn't take away from the quality of the food. The wine list was very good as well, definatley worth a visit.

We popped in last night before heading to Vicar Street. It was very busy but we managed to get a table downstairs. The staff were friendly and efficient but the food was a bit of a let down. The three of us had main courses, one pasta dish which was delicious by all accounts but unfortunately my pizza was stodgy and my friends chicken dish was cold. As we were in a rush we did not complain, but were disappointed as we had very positive experiences there before. Perhaps we got them on a bad night?

Ate there for an occasion and I have to say I was very reluctant. I really thought the food would be rubbish. But much to my surprise the food was really good. I had – as did two others – the sea bass, a full sea bass, perfectly cooked served with sauce on the side, and sauté potatoes and spinach (could have been more spinach) for 20 blips, is fantastic value and was really, really good. After very large starters it was all a bit much, but so good. In fact all the portions are on the large side, so of them too much so. So I’d stick with mains or two starters if I went back. The thing is the larger parties are put downstairs, where there is not a lot of room, it’s not that comfortable and gets very hot. Hen party tastic. When you’re not on one, you don’t wanna be beside one. Service was great and they were really busy.

Went here last weekend with 5 others, food was extremely poor and very expensive. Italian food is great when cooked from fresh basic ingredients. Had prawns in filo as a starter and they extremely over cooked. They were served in a pool of sauce as though to mask the taste of the prawns. Toscana seems to be a place of choice for groups of girls or women who like to be sung to by Italian waiters over a slice of birthday cake [it happened to 3 different people while we were there]. There was also a hen party here on the same night. If you are in to your food, this is not the place for you. Music and the general din was very loud, difficult to hold a conversation across our own table. Unfortunate choice.

Went for dinner here last night with a friend. We both went for the very reasonable early bird. We had the crostini and suppli (deep fried mozzarella) for starters and had linguine meatballs and chicken as our mains. We were both very happy with our meals and were too stuffef for dessert! We had a bottle of the house white which was really nice and the service was great. Our bill came to €53. We couldn't fault the place.

Cant fault this place for value for money, reasonable wine prices and the wines were decent for the price. Food was alright - nothing to write home about - Id say it is Italian food done in an Irish way.

Food for five on a wedensday afternoon, we all ate of the early evening specials menu, the food was fresh tasty & well presented. The service was prompt if unattentive, we had to ask for the basics e.g black pepper & olive oil. The servers knowledge of the wine list was poor at best. However that cannot take away from a series of great dishes at fantastic value for money

Cant fault Toscana anywhere !. Called in at 9.30pm on a Saturday with no booking.Nothing was a problem- we were looked after with a table in 5minutes. We both had starters. Main dishes of Tiger prawns and medallions of beef-Both were excellent. We had two bottle of the house white wine which was lovely and cold. Staff , food and atmosphere all great which added to a very good night in town. I will be back and hope a lot more people try Toscana as well

I booked here using Menupages and using my 1500 points for a free bottle of wine. We all went for the early bird which was a starter and main for 17.95. All the courses were HUGE!! and extremely tasty. The staff were very helpful and courteous and didnt try and rush us out of the restaurant, we were there about two hours or so. Gorgeous food, great atmosphere, great service and worked about brilliantly with a free bottle of wine. Would recommend!!

I have eaten in Toscana several times and have never been disappointed. On this occassion I visited with 2 friends for the early bird. The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived, almost a party atmosphere with the close tables which I thought was great! And the waiters are so good humoured and pleasant. The food was really good, we all chose different items and there were no complaints. Portions were good size and service excellent. A great little restaurant!

I heard good things about Toscana so was looking forward to a nice meal here. We were seated next to a group of people and were nearly on top of them as the tables were so close. I really hate when you don't have enough space in a restaurant, they offerred us a table downstairs, this was much better although it sort of feels like you're sitting in a corridor near the kitchens or something, which is a little strange. The food was mostly really nice and great value. Staff were friendly and efficient..however I do not think I would return as the atmosphere in here is lacking due to the seating arrangements and also sitting downstairs. Worth a visit though for the nice food, (apart from the side of sautee potatoes..they tasted a day old!!)

My sister took me here for an early bird with her menupages voucher. We had two main courses and we got the wine free with same said voucher. The atmosphere in the place is lovely and the staff seem genuinely bubbly. I had penne arrabiata, which was delcicious, just enough oil and chill, without it being overbearing. There was also cherry tomatoes in the dish, which really enhanced it. My sister opted for a margarita pizza, which she loved. Its a small restaurant but they also have some room downstairs. Highly recommended, has its own special atmosphere, great service and delcious food plus no restrictions on using the voucher.

I had a meal here with some friends to celebrate one of my friends birthday on friday 28th Aug. Overall we had a good night but it did have it's ups and downs. I booked about a week in advance a table for 6 people for 8pm. When we arrived we were seated at a very small oval table at the back of the restaurant. It was a bit squashed and to be fair we were offered an alternative table downstairs but we felt that downstairs lacked atmosphere, so stayed put. Two out of 6 of the party had ceaser salad and I have to say it was very poor, probably one of the worst I have tasted. The cos lettuce (if that's what it was) was very limp, the croutons soft and the dressing sparse. We ordered pinot grigio white wine and although it tasted ok, it was room temperature. We do like our wine to be cold and crisp and the bottle seemed fine to the touch so the only thing we could think of was that the glasses were warm. However, the saving grace was the main courses which everyone was happy with. There was 6 of us and our menu ranged from steak to pasta and pizza...all delicious. We had no desert just coffees. The service was good and waiters very friendly, probably one of the main reasons we didn't complain on the night, that and the fact that we were out for a birthday and all in good mood. Criticisms above aside, it is very good value for money and most of the food is really good...just don't go for the ceaser salad!

Myself and my brother had an early bird on a Wednesday evening around 7, it was relatively quite. We had garlic mushrooms and meatballs to start which was a generous portion. We both had chicken and pasta in white wine sauce which was nice if a little unadventurous. Overall the food was quite good and reasonable value. The price of the alcohol could be a little cheaper considering nearby is about 20% cheaper

Myself and a friend had early bird dinner here before a show in the Olympia. Restaurant was very busy, but we were seated straight away. Service was quick and staff very polite. Food was beautiful - we both had Bruschetta (which is amazing !!), for mail course i had Pollo alla Diavola and my friend had Tagliatelle Alla Toscana. Both throughly enjoyed our meals. Had a carafe of house white which was also lovely. Could not fault the restaurant on service, value or food. My only minor fault is that it is quiet cramped but with food, service and value for money i could live with that

I'm posting this review as I have been here on a few occasions but on each visit, while the food has been delicious I won't be returning due to the staff. The waiters are rude to the point of being off putting and make no attempt to ensure an enjoyable experience or a return visit. Last Monday the waiter barely greeted us and then didnt bother to write down our order resulting in my order having to be sent back as it was not what i requested. I can't understand this low level of service especially as the restaurant wasn't busy-there was only 2 other people there.Such a pity.

8 of us went here for a friends birthday. We had a nice big table right in the centre which was great to have fun. Their was a really good atmosphere and seemed to be quite a few birthdays going on as when the waitors arrived with a cake or dessert as a birthday cake they all gathered around to sing to the person....also happened to us which was good fun. We all ordered from the Early bird menu which was great value and quite a big menu. There was a Sirloin Steak on this and all the lads went for it and it looked gorgeous. I had the ceasar salad for starter which was very generous in size. I then had the Prawns in Garlic for mains and they were so yummy, just perfectly cooked and nice and tender. Desserts were had by all along with a wine flowing all night and its only worked out at €40 a head including tip so it was great value. Would def reccommend it for a group night out for somewhere with good food and inexpensive at that. Great to see restaurants giving good value & good food!

Was here for the pre-theatre early bird menu. Food was amazing and the staff were excellent, very prompt and polite. I ordered the Suppli for starters which was really good (if not very filling!!) and the Tricolore Spinachi Funghi for mains which was out of this world! For once in my life i had to pass on desserts as i was just too stuffed after the starters and main. I would recommend this place to anybody for any kind of a night out i.e. quick bite to eat pre theatre or a long celebratory meal with friends. It was really great and excellent value for money!

Had nice meals here a couple of times now. It's pretty laid back and the service is good, the food is really tasty. It's great for a quick early meal on your way to something, or we've lingered a bit longer too, so it can be fairly romantic :-)

A not so pleasant surprise. Went there with a recommendation, what I found was quite the opposite. Probably the worst place to eat in Dublin. The waiter forgot our order… twice!! Talked to the management and they forgot too. Ordered drinks that never arrived. We ordered Anchovies Pizza and Sea food Pasta, the pizza was super-salted and pizza bread was all soft and mushy. Pasta was so tasteless that my friend had to leave it. There was a big group of people ~20 next to our table and most staff was entertaining them, but that is no excuse for bad food and bad service. Avoid it all costs.

we came to this restaurant for my birthday and had the special menu for euro 29.95 each for a three course meal and half a bottle of wine. My husband had a steak and i had a pasta. The food was absolutely delicious and a litre of wine was more than enough between the two of us :) It's a very cosy place, service was a bit slow, great for a romantic dinner. great for early birds and other specials.

This is a great place for lunch, the food is yum and the service is quick but not rushed, can be a bit of a squeeze for big groups but they cater well for them in terms of service.

20 out of 10!!! Went here for a family occasion before the Olympia. Had never eaten here before but the reviews from MenuPages looked ok. Service excellent, great atmosphere( it was busy on this Sunday evening ) and the food was delicious.....but thats not the best bit. 6 meals ( 6 starters, 6 mains, 3 deserts,4 coffees, 2 bottles of wine ) for €161.....amazing. The service was superb and a smal mistake with one of the deserts was actioned immediatley! Ultra professional. One tiny thing was we sat near the door and on this balmy night the door was open so the traffic was quite loud sometimes but this didnt affect the atmosphere. I will be back here no doubt about it.

Although I had never dined here before, I recently took advantage of their Early Bird Special and was pleasantly surprised. I had minestrone to start and my partner had garlic mushrooms and both were very tasty. The main courses were fine and good sized portions. Wine selection was considered and quite good - had an Australian wine which was really fantastic. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was nice too; it was quite busy even early in the evening which is always a good sign! Overall it was very good value and I will most certainly be back.

I went here with some work colleagues after work on a friday evening and it was just what was needed after a stressful week. i have been here several times before and since and am heading there in a couple of days time again. the service is brilliant although i had to try and catch someone's eye for some more wine - but that is the worst complaint! the bruschetta is wonderful and is a main course in its self. the wines are palatable and i was advised correctly by the waiters regarding recommending a nice wine. the main courses are georgous and there was a perfect amount of time left in between each course - enough for the previous one to digest a little. i am really looking forward to my next meal there.

What can I say, this place was great!! I went with my boyfriend the night of the Take That concert and the restaurant was packed with women going there. Needless to say he loved it! Even with so many people there the service was still quick and the food was delicious! Definitley recommended:)

A friend invited myself and my husband to this restaurant last friday night. Initial thoughts were staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere in the place, so we were looking forward to a good evening. Unfortunately we were all so disappointed as the food quality was very poor. I had to send back my steak as i couldn't get a knife through it. My friends salad was good and the garlic bread/bruchetta was good. The staff were very pleasant about everything, so the only thing i can complain about is the food. There are alot of great italian restaurants in dublin with good value for money, and i eat out a few times a week, but i would never go back to this restaurant.

Ate here tonight - we were seated downstairs in the back of the restaurant. I quite liked the way the restaurant was designed however it's a little pokey and I'd imagine a nightmare if you're in a large group. We were seated after a short while even though we had a reservation and had to stand outside the restaurant because it was so tightly packed. We ordered starters and mains. I had bruschetta, my husband has seafood chowder and both were gorgeous. The bruschetta was sweet and garlicy and there was just the right amount served up. For mains I ordered the penne egatore. I'd read reviews that it was gorgeous however it was just so so. Overall the restuarant was ok. We were waiting about 20 mins between the courses which was a little long. The beef main I had was just OK - and the portion was massive so I couldn't finish it. Waiting staff very helpful. All in all it was a good experience.

I had dinner here for my birthday and could not have had a better evening. The staff were very polite and helpful and the service was excellent. The food was amazing, the suppli was to die for, perfectly crisp and the vegetarian lasagne makes my mouth water when I think of it. I couldn't recommend it any higher. A gem! Cruz.

Yum yum yum is all I can say. This place has great food and the prices are reasonable. I've heard great reports from friends too. The place gets very busy and isn't very large so I'd recommend you book. There are a couple of nice tables by the window. Down the stairs there are a couple of tables, it's quiter down there but it is near the kitchen and bathroom. That said it was quite noisy the last time I went so I'd request a table downstairs. If you like Italian food I'd recommend this restaurant.Staff are friendly also.

I hadn't been here in a couple of years, but was delighted last night to find out it is still has good as it has always been. It was pretty busy for a random Tuesday evening, and I'm assuming that's because the Early Bird is such good value. Plenty of staff on, (which is unusual in many places now), so the service was excellent, waiters were really friendly and obliging and food was great. Highly recommend.

This is one of our favourite restaurants!!!! Have eaten here over several years & never had a complaint!!!! The food is fantastic. Would recommend the suppli for starters & tagliatelle pollo funghi for mains. They give large portions which you can never finish... Unfortunately the place is a little cramped but the lovely atmosphere & brilliant service makes up for it. Their prices are also very reasonable!!!!

Two of us dined here only a few days after returning from a weekend break in Italy, and this place competes with the best food we ate in Italy! She had Penne Arabbiate with Chicken, I had the Lasagna Al Forno. The staff were very pleasant, they gave us our choice of table and a jug of water was brought without having to ask for it - a major plus. The food was plentiful and delicious, and even with a bottle of the house white wine thrown in we dined handsomely for under €50. I'd recommend Toscana to anyone, head and heels above any of the Italian restaurants I've eaten in around Dublin city centre.

had the pre-theater menu which was pretty good value for money. Food was very tasty (chicken wings, lasagne) however portion sizes were slightly on the small side! Great atmosphere although as it is so small the tables are quiet close together, tables for two are extremely cramped so if possible ask for a bigger table.

I ate here last night with my boyfriend and daughter, the food was delicious but the service was attrocious. The waiters were rude and you nearly felt like they were doing you a favour by serving you! We both had the bruschetta to start which was delicious and a very genorous portion. I had the sebass for main which came with an unusual concoction of soggy saute potatoes mixed with cabbage and onions. My partner had the carbonara which he concluded was the nicest he'd ever had. Overall the service let this place down, wont be going back any time soon.

We had lunch on a Sunday, the place was empty. The waiting staff were ok and the food came quickly enough, however the staff never asked if we were ok or if the food was ok and that's all the food was..ok. Not sure if we'll go back to Toscana any time soon, its not a bad place we just found the food, service and restaurant quite bland!!

This place is a family favourite when were all getting together, just becasue its early bird is such great value, so a meal out doesn't cost so much. make sure to book a table for a large party, as most of the tables are for smaller groups

I was at this restaurant on Saturday night for a special occasion. While the staff were very friendly and helpful, and most of my friends were happy, I have to say that the crab claws were disgusting. You know the way (and I know this seems counter-intuitive) that fresh fish is not supposed to smell of fish? If it is fresh than the smell is of the sea. I don't know how old these were, but I couldn't bear the taste or smell. You couldn't taste any of the garlic and herb butter either. My boyfriend tried a claw too, and completely concurred. The only reason I didn't send the food back was because it was a special occasion. I left most of my food behind, which no member of staff asked about. The suppli is the starter I should have gone for - and what Toscana is known for.

Came here on a Saturday night as part of a large group. Food was reasonably good, although my mains was very salty. The service, on the other hand was not good at all. We waited over an hour for our main courses, and in that time the waiters never even came to offer to get us new drinks or to tell us there's be a delay. When we asked if the food was coming, the waiter was rude and told us they were working on it. Our table was booked for 8.30 and it was almost 12 by the time our desserts arrived. I've heard other people say they like this restaurant so maybe it was just a once off, but I wouldn't be returning.

great place - will definitely return. My friend and I went for early bird as we were going to see Jack L in the Olympia. Enjoyed a lovely minestrone soup to begin with, my friend had wonderful creamy garlicky mushrooms. We both had the chiken wtih tagliatelle in a creamy pesto - really good, followed by a shared desert of ice cream, espresson, latte, 2 glasses of wine and two bottles of water - all for €54!! Best value ever in an Irish restaurant. Waiter was a hoot - a real character and we were made to feel most welcome. A real find.

This restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food is reasonably priced, however I thought the service was a bit rushed and my girlfriend did not enjoy her meal. I had the penne al salmone which was very nice but my girlfriend had the polla al milanese chicken dish which wasn't great. Baileys cheesecake dessert was delicious!

Their motto should be "HUNGER IS THE BEST SAUCE" I was here on the weekend for a celebration with a large group of 19 that we booked ages ago When we arrived (on time) there was 19 seats around a large table with only 16 place settings ???? As a result 3 of us had to stand around and wait for another table for half an hour while the other 16 made their orders .... eventually we got seated near the large table and ordered a fillet steak The steak took over an hour to arrive Instead of fillet is looked like thinly sliced round or sirloin and was rare instead of medium After one hour late i was starved and ate it anyway There was no way I was sending it back to wait another hour! After the mix up we didnt get an apology or a bottle for the table or anything All we got was a long long long wait for awful food.Check out the starters "Tiger prawns in filo pastry and chilli sauce" Italian how are you .....Never again

I went here was with a work party. I had the beef strips wth pasta which was really good. There were six others in the party and they all enjoyed there food. We just made it in, in time for the early bird menu. I'm very fussy about my italian food becaus i think there is so many bad italian restaurants out there. However this is not one of them.

Ate here in a lare group for early bird. Was impressed with the service for such a large group. food was served together and piping hot. Delicious seafood starters. We sampled almost al the meals and everyone was impressed. Can tend to rush you as they need the tables for next service only downside.

Went here for a date and will definitely go again. We got there for the earlybird/pre-theatre menu which ends at 6pm and the place was already buzzing. Despite the fact that they really squeeze you into your table, there was a good atmosphere. I had spicy chicken wings which were marinated in lovely sauce, served with salad and homemade garlic mayonaise. This was one of the lovliest starters Ive had in years! For mains I had the carbonara, and if you like your pasta creamy, as I do, you will not be disappointed. After I had a standard tiramisu, but I liked the fact that they serve wine by the glass, starting at 5euro, so you don't have to break the bank if you are picking up the bill. The whole bill, minus the tip came to 48e which was hugely surprising. The staff don't rush you anywhere, and during our meal they sang happy birthday for some ladies in the corner, so its obviously a good place for special occasions in general. Check it out!

Decided to try Toscana for the first time on Valentines night having read great reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was totally surprised how good the service was being the night it was and it so packed out. They had a special Valentines menu which was a shortened version of the regular menu. It cost €32 for three courses plus coffee. If the yummy food that night is anything to go by I will be back to try out there full length menu very soon!

We went here for our Christmas lunch from work. There were 25 of us and I must say the staff were excellent. They were quick to take our orders and to provide wine/water etc. The food was lovely. I had a medium rare steak that was cooked to perfection and everyone else found their lunches excellent! It is a little on the small side for larger groups but nonetheless we had a great time and we would defintely go back. I can't commend the service and food enough!

Toscana is one of my favourite restaurants in city centre - perfect location if you want to stay in town after having a fab bite to eat there. Food is glorious there - really good quality food - high standard - for a really good price. Service can be hit or miss depends who you get - some interesting characters there - sometimes can be a little slow but when you're out for the night you shouldn't really be rushing. Love it there at Christmas with all the lights. Toilets downstairs are very clean too - you can tell alot about a place by the toilets and these are well up to scratch. Good experience all round.

Yummy, had the most gorgeous Bruschetta if ever tasted. For mains had one of the specials - Chicken with Tiger prawns in a creamy white wine sauce... It was delicious. For dessert I had the sticky Toffee pudding which wasn't as good as else where. It was cold with no gooey center. Latte to finish. I'd definitely be back, it was a really enjoyable meal, waiters were very pleasent. Yum.

crab claws starter is amazing! Small restaurant but this made it seem more personal and had very nice atmosphere, main meals were delicious. i had a salmon and pasta dish and the salmon was really tender. the desserts are tasty but avoid the profiteroles as the portions are tiny and overpriced, the others are very good. ive been several times and i had a great experience every time. one waiter was terrible, rushed the orders and seem uninterested and sarcastic. that was a once off though and every other waiter was extremely friendly. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes Italian food or crab claws!

Visited here the Saturday before Christmas. The food is divine, especially the desserts. It was very busy and there wasn't much space which resulted in a lady sitting on the edge of my plate literally, at one stage. Apart from that it's a lovely restaurant. I would recommend it for a group of friends going out for a meal. I would not recommend it for a couple at the weekend - it's far too busy and noisy for a quiet chat - maybe during the week it would be a bit quieter..

I went here to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends. The restaurant is very cramped and tables are very close together, but it added to the atmosphere. Our first waiter was very unfriendly but the rest were all very nice. The food was good. When the staff found out that it was somebody's birthday the turned off all the lights in the restaurant and got everbody in it to sing happy birthday which really made the night special!

I was here with a group of friends on Saturday night for our Christmas night out. The food was lovely but the service was apalling. We ordered at 9.10 and at 10.50 we had to ask again where our main courses were! It was too late then to eat a plate of pasta and enjoy it and it was far too late to order desert! 2 of my friends love this restaurant and that's why we chose it. The food was lovely but I would not recommend it if there is a large group or it is a busy time of the year!

Very friendly staff and a great menu. I would definitely recommend it. The only downside is that the chairs are so close together it becomes very crowded and warm.

I've eaten here many times, both for a night out with my girlfriend, but also within large groups celebrating birthdays etc. The food is truly outstanding and excellent value. They do a superb early bird menu that offers a really nice variety of choices. It changes all the time and there are frequently excellent specials offered. Perhaps not the most romantic spot as it can quite a boisterous venue. But that only adds to the atmosphere if you ask me. Everyone seems to be having a good time in Toscana. Highly recommended.

I visit this restaurant regularly for lunch, usually with a large group of colleagues. The food is always good and staff very friendly, I'd recommend it for a night out with friends, best avoided if you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner.

A very authentic Italian restaurant. Went here about two weeks ago on a busy Friday night and requested a table downstairs cos I was told that the seating was really cool. However I found it very cramped and would not reccomend to sit down there; I was seated in a small table in a corner where we were easily forgotten about by the staff. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable meal. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious! It is a little on the heavy side but I expect that from an Italian restaurant! I would recommend the soupli for starters and the tiger prawns for main course.

It's an above average safe choice for an Italian.. been there a good few times and have never been disappointed with any pizza or pasta dish I've had. Good atmosphere and service out the front, less so in the slightly cramped back...

I ate here on a busy Saturday night as part of a group of 6. Everyone found the food tasty enough and the atmosphere was right for a fun saturday night meal. However the big drawback was all the waiting around. There was a 30 minute wait for the starter followed by an hour for the main meal with no apology or explanation. If you want a quick meal before heading out for the night I'd reccommend you go somewhere else

Ate the early bird menu. Excellent value and choice. The food was of a good standard, with healthy portions and good service. We were seated in the corner behind a partition, which took away from the atmosphere, but overall well worth it!

This was my third visit to Toscana's and it did not dissapoint. Four of us had dinner on a busy saturday night. The food is of incredible value and very tasty also. The restaurant is always busy and has a great atmosphere if you have a few people at dinner however it may not be quiet enough for a romantic date.

This was my first visit to Toscana's and we had a lovely evening. I ordered the Prawns in pastry with a chilli sauce to start which was good but there was too much sauce for my liking, My partner had the Suppli which was delicious. For the main course I had spagetti al Pollo and it was very good and plentiful so much so that I couldn't finish it and my partner had the veal for his main course. He loved the mushroom sauce that came with dish but wasn't that keen on the veal itself. For the dessert the chocolate fudge cake is so good as was the sticky toffee pudding, The place was busy with a great atmosphere and the staff and service was excellent. They were attentive without being over bearing. After coffees and wine the bill came to just over €100. It was good to try a new restaurant however I'm in no rush to go back.

This is my second visit to Toscana and yet again they delivered on every aspect! We had a table upstairs where it was extremely busy with a great atmosphere. The service was second to none too! We had garlic bread & Chicken wings for starters, and both had pasta dishes for main. We shared a Chocolate fudge cake which was just heaven! We enjoyed the experience here so much that we have booked a table for my 30th birthday in a couple of weeks time. Waiter Mato was particularly helpful. He showed us where we would be seated as there will be a large group of us. A highly reccommended place!

Great sit-down in the heart of Dublin. While the atmosphere is a little lacking in my opinion, the friendly service more than makes up for it. They did an excellent job of making us feel welcome. I went with a large group of about 10 and they seated us easily (granted, it was a Monday night). I had the Pollo Toscana which was wonderful and an Italian beer which I've forgotten the name of. A great night out thanks to Toscana.

I visit this restaurant probably five or six times a year. It is the nicest in Dublin by far. It's good for large groups or for a romantic meal for two. The only negative I have ever heard about it is that the tables are very close together but I think this adds to its charm. Like a real bustling Italian restaurant. Their starter of suppli is amazing, better than I've ever tasted anywhere else and the sauces on any of the main courses I have ever tasted are magnificent. The waiters and waitresses are always more than helpful. Once there was a large party with a crying baby beside us and they offered to move us but we said it was fine and they apologised several times as we were leaving. I really can't say enough positives about this restaurant.

Dined here on a busy Saturday night in a party of four.Had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated after our booking time as it was so busy. Apparently it is like this every Saturday. We had a nice table downstairs. For starters we had Caesar salad, tiger prawns and a plate of antipasti. For mains we had veal, chicken and seafood skewers. As with a lot of Italian places you have to order potatoes and vegetables as side orders which are extra to the main course prices. The food was very good all round. The only minor quibble was that the sauteed potatoes were underdone. We chose a South African chenin blanc which went down a treat. The service was good considering the place was full. Would definitely go back to Toscana but would prefer to go on a quieter night

Value and service were top class but quality of the main courses were a little disappointing.Nice location across from Dublin Castle especially if you can get a window seat. I would'nt hesitate to return as the starter, desert and coffee were great and for 22euro it would be hard to beat it.

I Love Love Love this restaurant, Each week I spend four nights in Dublin working so I eat there most every day if not I get take away.... The staff are always friendly. All their salads are organic and the prices are very reasonable. Most restaurants that do organic on their menu also charge you the customer for the privilege. Toscana at lunch time is soo good value for money...... I have all my friends and work colleagues addicted to this place too.. If I was organising a birthday or any celebration the atmosphere is electric and so everyone can relax and enjoy themselves...

If you fancy big portions of very decent food, try Toscana. Even though the setting is a bit hectic and crammed, we really enjoyed our dinner here last Friday. The organic lamb and roast veggy skewer is delightful. It came with a marsala sauce and some rosemary potatoes. The other main we had was a chicken breast in tomato olive sauce and some fries. We were too full to try a desert, so we'll have to come back for that.

The atmosphere in here is lovely. The staff are really friendly and very helpful (they even gave me a free glass of white wine when I knocked a glass of red all over me)! The food is delicous. You must have the tirimusu- I can guarantee you've never tasted Tirimusu like these it's so creamy and rich it takes 2 people to eat it! The food is really filling go with an empty stomach. It's really romantic aswell, perfect place for a date!

Have been to Toscana a number of times for the early bird, and have recommended it to others as well. Great value food, 3 courses plus tea/coffee, so much food for €22! The atmosphere isn't great for the early bird, a lot of empty tables, but the early bird menu is probably one of the best value deals around, with lots of choice! Would definitely recommend the early bird!

Went here for my 21st birthday. We (party of 10) were seated downstairs away from other diners, which was nice. The food was fantastic and the portions are huge. The waiters are friendly but I have to mark their service down slightly as one waiter (must have been new as he looked young and nervous) knocked a glass of wine (rose, so no major damage) over my brother. Very apologetic. We didn't mind but this probably would have resulted in a scene for a fussier diner. Will def return however!

I had a very bad experience in Tocana a few years back which put me off returning since. However, a friend persuaded me in for lunch the other day and I was very pleasantly surprised. The lunch menu is very good value. I have the Penne Entrcote which was delicious, chunks of tender beef in a tasty tomato sauce - i was very impressed. The only disappointment was the atmosphere. The place was dead, we were the only people there at one stage which was a bit off putting but I might be tempted back to try dinner there again one day.....

I have been to Toscana's a good few times now and I have to say that I love the place. I find the atmosphere great and the service to be excellent. I was there just at the weekend with a couple of my friends who have never been there before and they were very happy with it also. I love the choice on the menu as they seem to cater for everyone and it would be very difficult for you to not find something to eat for everyone's tastes. It is without a doubt one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin as the food is good quality and it is reasonably priced. I would recommend to anyone who likes prawns to have the Gamberi Italiani for starters and then for dessert definitely the Funky Pie its fantastic!!

Have been to Toscana quite a few times. It's an old reliable for good food, nice wine & a good atmosphere. Only had one not so pleasant experience when I asked for my Penne Arabiatta extra spicy. Any time I had ordered it before it was rather mild. However, the chef was obviously not too impressed with my request as my pasta was inedible when I got it. I am a lover of spicy foods, but this was incredible! However, I returned a few nights later, steered clear of extra spices, and had another lovely evening. Good value for money & the house white wine is surprisingly tasty.

Had an okay meal here recently. Was a bit disappointed as the atmosphere was a bit dead and I felt the food lacked execution. The food was over garnished and while it tasted ok... that was all it was.. ok. I won't be back.

Myself and my fiance have been here many times, though mainly on special occasions as it would be the cheapest restaurant, but definitely worth the money. Toscana's has a lovely atmosphere and service is great. We have been lucky with the tables we have been seated at, as some of the tables can be very squashed. Other than the restaurant being a little bit on the small side, everything else is brilliant. We will be going here for many years to come.

Quite disappointed overall. 5 of us in the group, service was poor, staff hovering around trying to take our order a few times even though we explained twice we were waiting for the 5th person to arrive and we would just have a drink in the mean time. Food was ok, high prices for average italian fare. Music was so loud we could barely talk to each other, seriously! We asked twice for it to be lowered. The last straw was when the wide screen TV was turned on for the Arsenal match! Who goes to a restaurant to watch the blinkin football!!

I came here for my boyfriend’s birthday along with his parents and we had a lovely night. Everything went very well, the food was great and the service was very good. The food was served in a timely manner and the waiter was very friendly. It was a bit noisy as there was a hen party sitting near us but apart from that it was great. We will definitely go back.

Came here for the early bird menu after work and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The starters were nice, suppli and garlic mushrooms, but no sooner had we finished them but the main courses were out, tagliatelle alla toscana, and the chicken had obviously been cooked seperately at some point and added in at the last minute, definately overcooked although the sauce was nice. For dessert we had profiteroles, which were presented nicely, and tiramisu, neither of them amazing but still quite tasty. I think I will come back to try the regular menu and see if the food quality was affected by the fact it was pre-theatre.

My favourite Italian in Dublin City centre. Great food, portions are huge and quality and service everytime I dine is consistent. I ordered their house wine 17.50, antipasto to start at 11.95 for a starter but I have to say when it arrived to the table it was huge, with parma ham, salami, mortadella, provolone cheese, sundried tomatoes, real stuffed olives, artichoke, smoked salmon, roasted peppers, the real deal but def to share between two. I ordered Linguine with chicken and prawns def the best Ive had 19.95. My partner ordered Sea bass 23.95 which came whole with spinach and leak baby potatoes. We had no room for dessert, finished with two espressos. Bill came to 78.35 I will be back for more, great little find.

I went to Toscana last night for the first time, but I won't be going back. It's not really an Italian restaurant, let alone of the Toscana region! I was sorely disappointed. The menu didn't impress, there were all sorts of fake Italian dishes and extra-Toscana plates, from Emilia-Romagna or elsewhere. I wanted to eat a lot, so would have liked to have had the antipasto, primo and secondo. But the prices of the meat dishes were crazy and there was not a great fish selection. So I went with tiger prawns, followed by pasta bolognese, and pizza margarita. I really didn't want to go with this terrible choice but the menu was so bad that I ended up going with these items. The four prawns were fine, the pasta was ok, but the pizza had too much cheese. We were eating late - 23:00 to midnight or so. The staff were not going about their business in a relaxed way so it was not a very good atmosphere. They were not really enjoying themselves as one would expect in an Italian establishment. I was annoyed and horrified when they only had filter coffee and no proper espresso for me to finish my meal. Seriously this place is awful. Next time I'll go somewhere with proper class. All the good reviews on here must be from people who like the fake Italian food with cream in pasta. Why do we put up with imitation and impostor Italian places in Dublin?

Love this restaurant. Service and food are both fantastic. The upstairs part can sometimes get a little bit crowded and noisey so I would always ask for a table downstairs. They are always very generous with their portions so you'll never leave hungry!!!! 100% reccommend this restaurant!

Toscana is a great little restaurant. The food is very good and reflects Italian food as it should be. I especially love the bruschettas as they are full of garlic! All in all a great restaurant to have dinner. My only concern is the continued good service....when they are busy the service suffers.

Have dined here a few times now. The food is delish and the staff are very attentive and friendly. The portions are also very generous. There is a nice and relaxing atmosphere, but downstairs can be hot and stuffy when the restaurant is busy (which it always seems to be). In some areas the tables are also quite close together which can be a little annoying.

This is not a bad little place if you are in town and want an easy meal. Also I have been with groups and they cater well for this as they have a large downstairs area. Fot a place that operates a large volume of customers they are pretty efficient. Food is good and well priced. Its not Michelan star or the most authentic Italian but I enjoy what I eat. I usually have Bruschetta or Mozzarella salad and a pasta. Wine is fine and there is a range of prices to suit all. Also the portions are not stingy and you feel you spend your money and get a lot for it. Its busy at the weekends and not exactly romantic with the crowds but a nice buzz. Places like this will survive while the horrible food and rip off price places are starting to disappear. I visited many times since they opened and will do so again!

We have been to Toscana before for an early bird menu (Eur22 pp)and decided to return again. We weren't disappointed. Food was great: yummy mozzarella sticks and delicious pasta, followed by the highlight of the meal - tiramisu dessert! All that went very well with a bottle of Chianti. We will definitely go back again to this lively popular place with good food and reasonable prices.

Was enticed in here by the lunch menu prices. The starters represent good value at €2 and are quite tasty but the standard of the mains let the place down. Authentic Italian it is not.

I've just returned from lunch in Toscana and was underwhelmed by the experience. My starter of suppli was good value at €2, however my main course of lasagne had far too much cheese for my liking. The Parmesan was also of the powdered, hydrogenated variety, which really isn't acceptable in this day and age. I really don't think I'll be returning.

First time to this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. I was in a party of ten. We all choose of the early bird/pre theatre menu, great value. I had the bruschetta for starter and mushroom and spinach pasta for main. Tried some of the others dishes too. There were no complaints. Service was excellent too.

Nothing spectacular! I went on a bank holiday Sunday and found our table to be quite tight. There were only three of us at a table for four. But I doubt four would fit! We all had different starters and mains. Bruschetta was a bit soggy, chicken wings very messy and not that filling. Meatballs were ok but the sauce was not as hot as I expected. Our mains were nothing exciting either. Flavours were a bit lacking. Disappointing for an Italian.

I went here 2 months ago for my birthday along with 4 others. We were seated upon arrival and the staff were exceptionally friendly and thorough. The menu had a good selection and I opted for the Soup and then lemon chicken, both of which were really tasty in a nicely presently and sized portion. The real treat of the night however was all the waiters hovering around my table to sing happy birthday after a tip off from my sister.. be warned they take birthdays seriously here:) No complaints from anyone, smiley bellies all round.

This is a surprisingly large restaurant with much of it in the basement where we sat. It was a little dark but it was fine. We just went in for a quick meal, main courses only and thought it was fine. I had the pasta in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and it was very tasty. The pizza was just ok. Service was friendly and quick. I would go back but not for the pizza.

Excellent restaurant all round! I went here with a party of 10 last Saturday. The staff there were very friendly and helpful and the food was delish. To start I had the Suppli and for mains I had Arrabiata and I cannot fault it at all. It was an enjoyable evening and great value for money. I would definitely go back and would have no hesitations in recommending the restaurant either.

Was here as part of a large group so had the set menu. Had the chicken wings to start but they were smothered in sauce, it made eating them quite a messy business, they were very nice though. The pollo alla diavola was tasty too but not the nicest I've had compared to other Italian restaurants. The service was very friendly, if a bit slow.

Went here for a work leaving do so there was a size-able group of us - 16 in all. Service was good, friendly and efficient. The house wine was so-so and we quickly replaced it with another selection, but the food was very tasty. The staff were very helpful in addressing dietary requirements and referred to the chef when they were uncertain of a dishes contents. We were on the early bird menu which had a dish for everyone's taste, and looking at the main menu, the selection of dishes is great here. The only downside to the restaurant was size - it is quite small inside and with a large group like ours, it resulted in people being 'trapped' by the wall so everyone had to get up to let them out to the loo, therefore I think this place would be better suited to couples or smaller parties. The staff also dimmed the lights and sang happy birthday to another in our group which was fun! Overall a positive experience and I would definitely go back with enthusiasm.

I've been a couple of times to Toscana for dinner and found the food gorgeous and the portions really generous. The only thing I didn't like was the cramping of tables/people. Maybe I've just been at busy times but I don't know if it's a good place for romantic twosome’s so much as larger groups.

I had been really looking forward to my meal at Toscana with my boyfriend after reading such great reviews, I was not impressed! I had made a reservation but we were kept waiting about 20 minutes for our table, then we were seated in a small section downstairs which was brightly light and away from the ambience upstairs. The food was ok but there was a 40 min wait between starter and main course. I'd like to go here again mid week and see how the service is but I will not go again for a romantic meal in the city on a Sat night!

Very impressed with here. Popped in a couple of weeks ago on a busy Saturday evening and had the early bird. Fantastic value, great food, service and lovely atmosphere. It's cosy and like all Italian restaurants the tables are close together but it's bustling and noise level adds to the atmosphere. Great find.

I reccommend Toscana for a birthday. Went here for one of the girls birthdays and after a fantastic meal having told the waiters it was our friends birthday they brought out a slice of chocolate cake, turned off all the lights in the place and had everyone sing happy birthday. She still says it was the best birthday ever. Aside from the fantastic service the food was delicious the helpings were huge, I don't think anyone could finish their mains and certainly didn't have room for a dessert. I will certainly be going back here

Went here last night with the girlies, after a bit of deliberation... and was very impressed with the food! Not sure if the waiters totally understood some of our requests, definitely some things were lost in translation, but we won't hold that against them, because overall they were very keen to please. Had a beautiful chicken dish - pollo alla daviola - which everybody agreed was delish!

Had a really enjoyable early bird menu last week. Arrived a bit late and we were in a rush to the Olympia for 8pm. Food was great and portions are very big. We only had time for our starter and main course and the manager told us to come back after the theatre for our dessert and coffee, which we did and were very impressed by this. Service was great and we will definitely be back.

Well as the saying goes "If you buy cheap, don't be surprised if you get cheap", and thats really about the best way of describing the early bird menu at Toscana.A party of six of us went in tonight pre theatre, We decided to order from the early bird Menu. The starters were tasty but tasted like a real Microwave job. The main courses were poor overall, my meal, was Penne Pasta with what looked like stewing beef in a tomato based sauce. Those of us who had lasange seemed best pleased. The biggest disappointment however was the desserts. I am a lover of Tiramisu, and whatever was served to me looked, and tasted like it had come out of a packet. However I will say that the atmosphere upstairs seemed very lively as was the service. At 22 Euro per head it's a cheap meal, however the food tastes every bit as cheap. I won't be going back.

Was here Wed night & have to disagree with the recent comments. Atmosphere was great especially for a wed night. Service was efficient and friendly and food was really nice. Bruschetta starter a bit on the large side but pizzas are great. Minestrone soup is lovely and light. No complaints. Will be back here again.

Wasn't mad about this place at all. Didn't enjoy my food and found the waiter rude. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant though!

I was here a few months ago and I won't be returning. It is too small, my boyfriend and I were at the table by the stairs and felt like we were in the way and kept having to move. The staff were not friendly at all and we had to wait for 40 mins to get our mains and when we did mine was not what I ordered. It's cheap enough so I suppose the saying is true you get what you pay for.

Love going here with a few of my friends, advise booking though, always very busy. If you're looking for a quieter evening, sit downstairs, can get noisy upstairs but good atmosphere. Food lovely, recommend the steak. Had good value Christmas menu here recently, €35 for 3 courses plus tea/coffee

I had been here before on two occasions both with himself. Really enjoyed it and it is quite romantic downstairs (if you're not seated next to a large party.) I dined here again, and took advantage of the pre-theatre menu. Excellent value! What I've noticed before with early bird menus, is the smaller portion size, but in Toscana the portions are exactly the same. Both pasta dishes had really lovely sauces and the house wine was good. 3 course meal with coffee for 22euro each- even Eddie Hobbs would be impressed. I was so full from the meal that even the following morning I found it hard to eat my breakfast- and I'm a 'big-boned' girl... One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. And many of the best looking waiters- makes the food go down easy.

Ate her last week. Place is decorated really nicely for Christmas and there was a great atmosphere. I had crab claws which i thought were really tasty. Wasn't that impressed with the risotto, but my boyfriend really liked the steak. I didn't like the way that each dish had a side salad, made it seem a bit conveyor belt like. It was good value for money though, and the service was good.

Myself and a friend ate here before a show in the Olympia. The pre-theatre menu was there to order from but there was a greater choice from the main menu. I had the crab claws for starter and lasagne for main course. Also we shared a bottle of wine. The food was lovely although crab claws were a bit too oily. Other than that couldn't fault the food. Only downside was with the table we sat at. It was a table for two and it was so close to another table for two beside us that it felt like eating dinner with strangers.

Ate here last Saturday night. As always Toscana has a great atmosphere and a menu that will have something for everyone. I had only ever eaten upstairs till now but on Saturday we were lead through the maze of rooms downstairs which I never knew were there. We were given a table laid out for 10 even though there were only 7 but that was great as we had loads of room. Our waiter did get some of the starters wrong but they were promptly corrected. Beyond that, the service was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. We had starters, mains, desserts, a few bottles of wine between us and a bottle of Prosecco and the bill still only came to €50 a head - great value. Toscana is somewhere I always recommend and always go back to, and I will do again.

I adore this restaurant. The prices are perfect for a bite to eat pre theatre in The Olympia or Vicar Street and thestaff are always friendly. The food has always been top notch and I have eaten here at least 8 times. Suitable for a casual meal rather than a special occasion.

I had the early bird menu here on a Thursday night. We had to place our order by 6.30 and received our starters a little too quickly. The portions for our starters were huge and tasty, the meatballs could have been a main course. Staff were very quick to take our plates and returned with the mains almost immediately. The portions sizes for the mains were also huge but unfortunately the was little variety on the early bird menu which meant your choice was limited to pasta or pizza. Deserts again were served very quickly and were delicious. Not a romantic pace for a meal but good value for 22 euro.

I was really disappointed with this restaurant having enjoyed top quality meals and service in the one in Dun Laoghaire. I went to the restaurant with eight friends and ordered from their pre-theatre menu(€22). Orders were to be placed before 6.30pm, presumably to allow people time to enjoy the three courses on offer before attending an 8pm show in the nearby theatre. We ordered our food before 6.30 and the starters all arrived within minutes. The food was average and was worth the money. However, it was nearly 50 minutes before our main courses arrived. At 7.30, we had to ask the waiters was our food on the way, being in a rush to get to a show at 8pm (hence the pre-theatre menu!). The food finally arrived at 7.35pm leaving very little time to enjoy the meal. One meal for our party did not arrive with the others and we were required to ask for it several times. This meal was brought to the table at 7.45pm, leaving the customer about 5 minutes to eat it in order to get to the theatre on time. We discussed this with the waiter, and told him that we were not happy with paying for this last meal. He was quite rude and nearly held back from actually giving the meal! He finally gave the meal and agreed that it need not be paid for seeing as all the rest of the group were just finished eating. At this stage it was 7.50pm and we had to order the bill, not having even had a chance to order the desserts which were also included in the pre-theatre menu. Overall, a disappointment and I feel that they cannot possibly sell a three-course dinner as a 'pre-theatre' meal if there will physically not be enough time to complete the meal before the theatre starts.

If you like Italian you'll like this place! It's noisy and busy and the music is cheerful and the staff are v attentive. It's a great place full-stop. The main plus about the place is that the portions are HUGE! The bruschetta is plenty for 2 people, trust me. I got the chicken wings which were not your usual chicken wings. They were meaty and tasty and v saucy. I always judge an Italian joint by the spaghetti and let me tell you the spaghetti is pretty good. My friends got steak and they went away smiling. The wine list was moderate to good. The housewine was a very basic but if you have a few quid then you could a nice bottle of Amarone or Barolo. All in all it's a great weekend joint where the onset of work is days away! You feel free. You feel mediterranean and after you leave you are very happy with yourself. Great place!

Went with some family and was brilliant. The food was great and service was lovely. Everyone one of the 6 of us was extremely happy with our food and in fact 2 of us (inc me) sent compliments back to the kitchen. The staff were great and there was a girls 21st and they got the whole restaurant to sing for her and then played an old classic song which then had the whole restaurant singing together, was great fun and I'm told its like that a lot. The place is very small and its only downfall was that it was loud (but that could have been made worse by the large group behind us) and a tight squeeze but I truly loved it and will be back.

I brought my dad her for his B'day in Sept and hope to return soon. I had bruschetta for starters and he had meatballs, which he is still raving about. My OH had them also and loved them. For mains I had tricolor pasta which was nice but a little bland, could have done with a little more flavour. Dad had pasta in a tomato sauce with steak and he said it was lovely. OH had Steak medallions and pepper sauce (yes v Italian :)) Although he did say it was really good steak. Will definitely be returning.

One of the nicest Italian places I have been to so far. The veggie lasagne was perfect and nicely seasoned and the side salad that came with it in a separate bowl was huge. The room downstairs tends to get very noisy but that adds to the nice, cosy atmosphere..will def go back.

Toscana's has been one of my favourite restaurants for years. It's one of those restaurants that suits every occassion, every age group and every budget type. The staff are always super friendly and funny and the food is consistantly good. The wines are great and the staff, mostly Italians, are very knowledgable. I would recommend this place to anybody, you always leave feeling very satisfied and in high spirits!

I had reservations about this restaurant as I'm not a huge Italian fan. However I was so impressed with the menu choice. There was such a huge amount of choice it took our table a while to figure out what to get. The wine menu is also very extensive, however I would recommend the house wine. When you walk into the restaurant it looks fairly small, but as you head downstairs, another two levels open up with lovely quiet private seating areas. I loved this restaurant so much that it has now been booked for another meal this weekend and our staff Christmas party.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times in both large and small groups. Each time I have enjoyed a very good meal. The atmosphere is great in this place, especially if a member of your party happens to celebrate a birthday while you visit (ensure to inform the staff). On my most recent visit to this restaurant, I had the bruscetta to start (a little too much garlic) and the pollo Toscana for main course. This was delicious. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the food if of a high quality.

What an amazing venue to dine out with the friends! We had a party of 7 there last night and the whole experience was superb. Staff is wonderful - attentive, knowleadgeable, funny. Food is simple but tasty. Seafood lovers should definetely try out Spiedini alla Marinara. Surely be coming back. Keep it up Toscana!

Loved the whole experience, our first time to venture to Toscana in the city centre. From the time our party of 6 walked in we were greated like friends, good start! I had bruschetta to start what a knock out, then I had linguine pasta with enormous tender tiger prawns in a black olive/cherry tomato sauce to die for. Portions were huge, all of us varied our choices and spent mealtime trying each others dishes, I have to say none of us were disappointed. Toscana was packed on a wednesday night, I can understand why. It has a rare buzzing atmosphere, we were serenaded by Bochelli and Dean Martin. It offers great service and it didnt break the bank. My friend celebrated her 40th birthday, the staff dimmed all the lights, and sang happy birthday in Italian. The Live serenade set us swooning!!! My husband and I are returning this weekend to rediscover Dublins hidden gem.

I really like this restaurant, food is outstanding. Can be pricey when ordering from the main menu but the early bird and lunch menus are good value. Gets very busy and can be a bit squashy with a group but food makes up for it. I'd highly recommend the Suppli for starters, delicious!!

I love to place and frequently come back time and time again for its great atmosphere. The waiters are extremely charming and cannot do enough for u and will happily sing happy birthday and do a little dance for the "lucky" recipient. The tricolour pasta with spinach is gorgeous but very heavy! A very enjoyable evening

The food at Toscana is to die for! I had brochette to start, the best I have had...I would go back for the starter alone! For the main I chose seafood marinara they were very generous with oysters and prawns (most places seem to be very sparing) for desert I had a tiramisu and WOW is all I can say yum, it was perfect. Best meal I have had in a long time!

Went for the early bird with a friend. The service was great, waiter was very friendly. I had the suppli, which was lovely; my friend had the bruschetta, which was nice too. We both had the tagliatelle with chicken in a creamy sauce, was lovely but very filling. Desserts were divine. Definitely recommended this place for value!!

Why is Italian food so abused in this country??? It is so easy to do well, so why do so many restaurants do it badly. Toscana is a prime offender. The pasta tastes like a value brand, the sauces are little better than ketchup. The service here is adequate, but it would have to be to make up for the food. I can only imagine that the location and price is the reason this place has survived so long.

We went here for a special occasion after hearing very positive things about it. There were 6 of us and we were seated at a tiny table so we asked to be moved and were. When we ordered one member of the party asked for his steak to be very well done. When our main courses came his steak was medium rare at best. It was sent back and came back medium. It was then sent back again and again. When a steak has to be sent back three times, there is something very wrong. By the time the steak was actually cooked properly the rest of the party were finished their mains. At the end of the meal two people were having tea and the waiter came over with one coffee to apologise! No one at the table was even drinking coffee! So when the bill came I explained to the waiter that I really didn’t think we should have to pay for the steak. He rolled his eyes and gave a really exasperated sigh and told me I would have to speak to the manager, which I did and he couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant. Overall it was a very disappointing experience and I certainly know that no one from the group would go back to it and have advised others likewise. The food was ok but the service let the restaurant down.

I have been to this restaurant several times over the last few months and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly although they always seem to be too busy to give you their full attention. Downstairs the seating is nice and intimate and much quieter than upstairs, perfect for a special occasion but for a couple rather than a large group. The food is always tasty and very reasonably priced for the portion size, although the dessert menu could be a little better I think. The wine is reasonably priced. All in all, a very pleasant place to eat.

I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the last two years and always found the food to be delicious. I would highly recommend anyone go there. However be warned that this place gets extremely busy. On any weekend make sure you book a table and even if you get one prepare to wait a while for your food. This restaurant is immensely popular and so the staff can be so busy they may not notice you trying to get their attention. Visit it during the week or early in the evening to really appreciate how nice the place is.

Popped in for a pre-theatre quick bite to eat at 7.15pm. Greeted heartily by a waiter who seated us quickly. We mentioned that we were going to a show, and our wine and food were served within 10 minutes. Our meal was piping hot and excellent. The bruschettas are the best in Dublin (we try the bruschetta in every Italian restaurant we go to); my boyfriend was impressed with his Italian chicken wings which were served in lots of spicy tomato sauce and there were plenty of wings in the dish; my penne with chicken and the extra bacon that they had no problem adding, was delicious. Portions were huge and there was plenty of Parmesan and black pepper on our table (we had our own pepper mill, which makes a change from a lot of restaurants who keep taking it off your table to use elsewhere, so us black pepper lovers have to keep asking for it again!!). Service was exemplary, with our water topped up regularly and my very drinkable house wine topped up for no extra charge. We were finished at 7.50pm and left very satisfied. The bill came to €35 inc service, which we felt was very good value for excellent service, large portions of great food, and a cosy, buzzy atmosphere with good humoured and attentive waiters to whom nothing was too much trouble. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit!

One of the worst Italian restaurants I’ve been in. The first time I was there the gnocchi was burnt, something that I didn't think was even possible. The waiters were very pre-occupied and un-helpful. The second time I went there with three friends and the waiters were downright rude. They brought two of the wrong dishes and then insisted that that was what we had ordered (although why with a wheat allergy one of us would order pasta I don’t know), in the end one of them stormed off in a huff, and the service after that was remarkably chilly. The food is also unremarkable at best, and the atmosphere generally overcrowded. Was a mistake to go the second time and I would most definitely not go back! There are much, much better restaurants in Dublin!

Toscana’s has been 1 of my most fav restaurants for a long time. Typical that the time I go to review it, that it should be so disappointing. We arrived to a packed restaurant, with still nice friendly smiling staff but only a table for 3 tucked under the stairs beside toilets (despite booking a week in advance). As it was a birthday night out we decided to wait 15 minutes to get a different table but it was only for 2 so we were very crushed. The place was so full they had to push lots of tables close together so that we were practically joined to the people next door. I opted for Caesar salad as a starter and my husband for his mains. Have always enjoyed this here but they have changed lettuce (so I was told). It was hard and watery, there was only a dribble of dressing a bare shaving of Parmesan and the croutons were stale. Our friend had a chicken dish but sent most of it back untouched, as it was really stodgy and heavy. My main dish was supposed to be chicken in white wine and tomato but really was just a load of tomato puree on top of chicken. Was really disappointed in night as really really loved this place for a long time. Think they are just too popular now and can't keep up. Think I will take a break for a while and keep watching the reviews.

Having tried over 50 pizza joints, Toscana is the only restaurant in this city where you can eat Italian food in really nice surroundings with Boccelli or some other nice music going on in the background. I have never had a nicer pizza... There a good size and have the most amazing garlicy pizza sauce and are reasonably priced at around 12 euro... What makes this place great is the friendly service and really cute Italian waiters... My verdict?? Who needs oysters... The staff here are the only aphrodisiac you need!!

Went here on a busy Saturday night, there was some confusion about the time of booking but otherwise it was a very enjoyable evening. The antipasti plate is huge even shared between two people. Portions are very large. Good value.

I went here on Saturday night with 3 others. We made a reservation through MenuPages.ie. When we arrived, even though people were queuing out of the door we were seated immediately. The restaurant was very very busy, a bum on every seat. The table we were given was a bit cramped in a corner and a little close to the kitchen but as it was a busy Saturday evening I will forgive them for that. The service was brilliant, there must have been 10 waiters running around making sure everyone was okay. We had mains; 1 fillet steak, 1 sirloin steak, 1 pizza and 1 chicken dish. All were great; the portions were huge which is unusual when ordering steak and cooked exactly how we asked. Cannot fault the food one bit. I then had a sticky toffee pudding, I love my desserts and this one was great. The bill came to just over €100 for the four of us including Peroni’s. Great value for money and great food, will definitely go again.

The service was the only good thing about this place. We were there on Friday night, it was crowded, too warm and too noisy, waiters were very nice and helpful though. The starters were ok; pizzas were the usual greasy imitation of the real thing. Pasta was overcooked. As most of the "so called" Italian restaurant in Dublin, Toscana can only appeal to tourists and whoever doesn't have a clue of what Italian food is all about.

Toscana is a great choice for lunchtime; the lunch menu on offer is great value. The portion sizes are enormous here too and the service is very prompt, especially if you are grabbing a bite for lunch I do feel that the food is not of as high a standard at lunchtime as it is in the evening though and suspect that some of the dishes are reheated for the lunch time crowd. Saying that the food is flavoursome and there is plenty of it.

Lovely Italian restaurant. The food is very good, portions are huge, and the service is friendly. A girl at the table next to ours was celebrating her birthday, and the waiters dimmed the lights, and rapped on a glass to get everyone’s attention, then got the whole restaurant to sing her Happy Birthday!! Not the place for a quiet romantic meal though, as the restaurant is very noisy!

This is my favourite Italian restaurant in Dublin, I love the pasta it's out of this world. When the restaurant is busy the service does suffer but the food makes up for it.

Lovely place to enjoy a reasonable meal. Waiters are friendly and helpful and the food is delish. However, tables are very close together and the place is very noisy- not very romantic but good if going in a group.

I went here on Sunday 11th Mar. I thought it was fantastic. My second visit here and I thought that my first visit was good - this was equally as good. It was a bit of a spur of the moment decision. To start we shared a generous bruchetta, which was very tasty. I had the carbonara, which was divine! Usually these cream based sauces can be too rich and heavy but this was really well made. The bacon was no cheap cut either and was just delicious. My friend had the spaghetti with spinach and cream, which was equally as good. Generous portions - highly recommend this place!

Not the place to visit if you are looking for good food in a relaxed atmosphere - restaurant strategy seems to be to get as much bums on seats as possible - we visited on a Saturday night and were stuck in a small room right beside a hen party of about 24 ladies - could not hear ourselves talk. We asked to be moved and then ended up beside a table of about 8 guys on a lads-night out - wife had to endure some ladish comments. Food is tasty, it was clear that it had been micro waved rather than prepared fresh

We went very late so it was a bit rushed. Service was good atmosphere was loud. Starter was served two seconds after we ordered and main course two seconds after that, would have been slower in McDonalds. Two starters two main courses one dessert and two bottles of the house white (lovely) for 95 euro. Great value!

Again, a really good value pre-theatre menu, with enough options to satisfy most people out for a quick bite. Excellent a la carte also, and an extensive selection of wines. The food (in my experience) is hot and tasty, and arrives well presented. The service provided is a real winner, with very enthusiastic staff who add to the very comfortable and very enjoyable atmosphere.

A restaurant I had always passed by, but never entered, so, before Christmas we decided to take the plunge. This restaurant was fantastic. The staff were lovely, very chatty and gave us lots of attention without being too intrusive. The restaurant itself was very warm and cosy with its only downside being that it was quite cramped, Although, if you want fantastic food and like your portions big (and who can argue with a 3 course meal for four including drinks at only 140 euros) then this is the place to go. I will definitely go again.

Have eaten here twice - once with my sister for lunch and on Christmas Eve with the hubby. Both times the food and service was excellent. Reasonably priced, tasty food. My husband was particularly impressed with his steak - said it was really tasty! Got a couple of free glasses of mulled wine after dinner on Christmas Eve so like it even more now! I'd recommend this place for any occasion - thumbs up!

This is a foolproof choice for a meal out. The food is excellent; the service is friendly, a little cheeky and very good; the wine list is nicely varied without being overwhelmed; and the bill is always reasonable. Eat happily and tip well - the place is a complete success every time.

I have no doubt about this restaurant at all, myself and my family have eaten in here over 10 times and I would highly recommend it for family get together, dinner out with friends, hens (cause scrumptious men) or as a couple. The menu caters for all and has great variety. I would especially recommend the crab claws (ummmm). All the staff are really friendly and price wise it is really good value for money
