I have been here a few times for their weekly movie club night every thursday which is free in and they have table service for food and drinks. The tasting plates are nice if you are feeling just a little peckish and dont want a heavy meal. I like the tortillas or chicken skewers You can get a sandwich on nice foccacia bread and chips for €9 and it is very filling so would do as a dinner after work with a little room for dessert after...go for the chocolate brownie with ice cream it is yum. So an evenings entertainment and dinner for €15 you cant go wrong really.

Went to the Odeon for a pre theatere bit e to eat after work last night. The pub itself is nice, as is the ambience and the furniture. Although there were very few punters in. I had a steak and home cut chips both were cooked to perfection. My companions had a variety of things, all good. That said the Odeon and others need to price their wares more competitively. 5 euro pints, 2.80 a coke. 3.20 a coffee.. Ridiculous in this day and age and undoubtedly the reason why these places are quiet during the week. Charge less, make more!!

The Odeon is an old favourite of mine and when I saw the deal on Menupages I couldn't pass it up. My friend decided on the Chicken Skewers for a starter and I had the Fish Cakes, both dishes were a great start to what ended being an excellent evening. For mains my friend had the Chicken Supreme and I as always have the Chicken Mango Salad no matter how many times I eat here I always have the same salad. It is always so fresh and I could never fault it. My friend had never been to the Odeon before and was very impressed. We ended up staying there after the meal and really enjoyed the evening. Since it turns into a bar in the late evening you can really make a great night out of it if you want to. The staff are always a pleasure too. Because of the location I sometimes forget about this place but am so pleased when I make it back.

Really disappointed!! Service was very good but there was just us and two other tables but to be fair it was a Monday evening. Food was less than average. Got fish and chips. Chips were pipping hot, fish was cold in the middle. Won't be going back for seconds.

Some places should stick to what they’re good at. And it is ok to be a really good bar with great cocktails and very friendly and attentive service. We recently availed of a lunchtime offer at The Odeon. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, so one shouldn’t have to expect anything to go wrong, nevermind sending half frozen starters back. Our main courses made a decent recovery to the overall eating experience, but we beat a hasty retreat when the main lounge space started filling up with grease smoke from the kitchen. Next time the voice on the luas says ‘Sráid Fhearchair”, I’ll stay on the luas unless I’m keen on a cold pint.

Visited here with a Menupages voucher, and found the service very efficient and friendly. I had the chicken satay skewers and steak and enjoyed both. The only negative point was that on the night in question at times it was very hard to talk over the music as there was a singer performing in the bar - not sure if this was a semi-regular feature or simply St Arthurs Day related though! The venue also had slightly more of a bar than a restaurant feel. That said was good value even without a voucher, we decided to opt for a couple more cocktails from the €5 menu rather than head on elsewhere as originally planned due to the attractive price.

Went here with a MenuPages voucher at 8.30 on a Thursday evening. The place was quite quiet however this was realtively welcome as I was wondering how it would work having dinner in a place I had always thought of as a bar. I actually didn't know The Odeon did evening meals (I had been there for lunch) till I saw the MenuPages deal. Had the fish cakes for starter, they were alright but nothing particularly notable. The main of Rolled Chicken Supreme was excellent though and the raspberry Eton Mess was particularly tasty and very well presented. A good solid meal however the ambience was a little strange, even though there weren't many people there only drinking, it still didn't feel like a restaurant. That said, I wouldn't let that put anyone off as the food was, in general, very good and would be good value even without a voucher. Perhaps if The Odeon becomes more known as an evening restaurant then it will pick up a bit.

Went here for lunch with a friend. We were seated immediately and were given menus to order. We both decided to go for the steak sandwich and were not disappointed. There was plenty of steak in the sandwich and the onions were perfectly caramelised. The mustard mayo on the sandwich was lovely and not too overpowering. The dish came with a side order of home cooked chips which were also delicious. The service throughout was very good and the meal itself was extremely good value. Would definately eat here again.

I received a promotional e-mail from menupages for this restaurant and I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic value for money and everything was cooked to perfection. I had the 12oz striploin steak which was cooked perfectly rare as requested. I'm always surprised at the number of restaurants unable to cook a perfectly rare steak but the Odeon did not disappoint. If I had one negative comment it would be that there were not many others there but I think thats a greater reflection of the times we are in rather that the restaurant itself. Service was also top class- I will be back.

Amazing staff so lovely, funny and remembered our drink orders. The place has a lovely friendly atmosphere. We both had a starter, main and a drink and it only came to 40 euro. Highly recommend eating here, the menu is extensive and packed full of great choices. Definitely my favorite new restaurant .

I recently visited the Odeon with some clients who were in town and very hungry after a day of meetings. They had heard about The Odeon from collegues who had visited recently anf highly recommended it. First of all we were greeted by a very cheerful waitress who seated us and promptly delivered our menus. Two of us had the bacon and cheese burger while the other two opted for the artichoke salad and the waitress was more than happy to add some chicken to one without any fuss. There were four clear plates at the end of our meal. We didnt get any drinks with our food as we were given a jug of ice water for the table that was kept full by the waitress. We were going back to work so we didn't have time for dessert and settled for 3 americanos. Helped make the meal go down well. Would go again, have recommended it to friends and would recommend making a reservation as a popular spot

I go here on nights out and wandered one wed evening to try out the restaurant side of things because I love the interior. I ordered the fish n chips and my boyfriend got the bacon and cheese burger. The cod was perfectly crispy and not at all greasy - just tasty. We both loved the chips as they are really thick and filling. I think the burger was about a tenner, can't remember the price of the fish n chips. Both us were very full after the meal. The waitress was really nice and when I wanted to plug my charger in somewhere i didnt feel at all uncomfortable asking and it was no problem. very friendly and efficient. I would go back for sure. also the chairs are extremely comfortable so be careful u dont fall asleep !!

Went for lunch there recently with my husband and truly enjoyed it. My husband had a BLT and myself, a salad with BBQ chicken, mango, pepper, cashews and the usual greens! My husband raved about the sandwich, claiming it to be very filling and very tasty. This came with chunky hand-cut fries which, although looked like a mean portion, they were surprisingly substantial!! (Not to mention delicious). My salad was absolutely divine. I opted the larger portion which filled me nicely. I couldn't fault it. The service was great also. We had to wait a while for food but it was understandable as the place was completely full during the lunchtime rush. To call this place a pub and its food 'pub grub' is totally inappropriate. In my opinion, the food is of a much higher standard than any 'pub grub' I've had! I'll definitely be frequenting this place in future!!

I went to the Odeon for lunch with a group of girlfriends and I thought it was great. We had a booth which was nice and spacious and perfect for a small group like us. The waiting staff were friendly. It was quite busy so there was a nice buzz about the place. We all commented towards the end of the meal that we thought the food was above average for a bar. Not the typical 'pub grub' you usually get churned out around Dublin. The Guinness bread was particularly good!! And the portions were quite big - great value for money. I will definitely go back :)

I had lunch with a colleague in the Odean and was seething by the end of the meal. It took 35minutes between ordering and our food arriving despite numerous reminders that we had said we were in a rush. The food was fine, but the attitude of "35minutes is not a long wait" was pretty poor. I will, categorically, never go back.

This is essentially a pub. The food is usual pub grub and if thats what you were aiming for then you'll be very happy. The standard is good, the surroundings lovely and the crowd very chilled out.

I had lunch here recently and left feeling pretty underwhelmed - especially as it necessitated a booking just for a pub lunch! My risotto was incredibly bland, and at €10 for a starter-sized portion, very over-priced for pub grub. Delusions of grandeur I say…

wen there for lunch, i had the fish soup, my firend had the steak sanwich. They were both nice, but they could have been a little more generous with the fish soup. I wasnt exaclty full afterwards. Nice food though. Only let down was service was very slow... waiting a long time even just to pay!

Had lunch here today with a client, he was very impressed with decor and atmosphere. I ordered the sausage, mash and gravy. Great combination of ingredients, we also ordered a glass of red wine. Great place for lunch meetings and very central. Staff very friendly and food fairly priced. Will dine here again.

I came here tonight with a bunch of my friends for the movie club. It was my first time for the movie and wow what a treat. The set up was great, it's just like a cinema. Great food, drinks and service. We will certainly be back again. Hats off to the staff and management for doing a great job, What a fabulous way to spend a thursday evening!

We went to the odeon last Thursday for the movie night, what a great idea! Table service, big comfy seats, €5 cocktails, perfect. We chose some food from the taster plates and had the prawn, squid and chicken wings, all lovely. It was quiet for a Thursaday and apart from the waitress spilling a drink all over me we had a good evening. We wil definately be back!

Excellent food, well priced, nice atmosphere and great staff - overall a winnner! Went here with hubby for a pre concert hall gig and was highly impressed. I had the fish stew which was delicious, large pieces of perfectly cooked fish in a fragrant tangy broth with a lovely crusty bread accompanyment. At €9.95 this is excellent value. Hubby had the fish and chips which was substantial and delicious. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. Our waiter took the time to tell us about the movie nights and the early bird specials, really promoting the place which we thought was very good. Would highly recommend this place.

I went there with my girlfriend for a Sunday Brunch, in one of these days you want to wake up softly. We sit on a table with sofas and had a very nice breakfast watching Wallace&Gromit! We ordered an Omelette and a Vegetarian breakfast, both excellent. A very hot cappuccino and an orange juice to complete the healthy option, but theres' choice as well on main courses and it's nice to have a separate menu for the kids, going around and watching the film on a big screen! Very nice indeed,

What can I say, decent food, friendly staff, great drink deals on fridays €4 (wish it was Sat as well). The shinning moment for this place though was New Years Eve party (reason for this review), what a night - great DJ, great buzz about the place, very busy but not cramped with no hassle from anyone, doormen were very courteous and polite (very rare find in Dublin) and the staff were very friendly and patient. I didn't want the night to end! I will definately be making the Odeon a place to go most Fridays nights from now on, roll on New Years Eve 2010!

I have eaten here a few time for lunch. i really like the food here - generous portions and very tasty. I would recommend the fish stew. They have various daily specials on aswell as a great menu. The only slight fault with this place is the service. It is a little slow at times. Would really recommend this place and i think its great value.

Posted a bad review before; so I feel they deserve an update: new menu, and prices have come down a little. However, there are still nearby places that do nicer food for about 80% of the price. Service has improved - although I feel that this is only because the place is almost always empty at lunchtime. If they drop the prices some more, and are nicer to customers, they may recover from their rep in my workplace (of 1500) of being bad value/too slow/poor service - but it remains to be seen.

Have been here for lunch and would not go again - extremely slow service and massively overpriced for mediocre (at best) food. Far better options in the area.

Around the corner from my office so have been there a numebr of times, always the same problem, such slow service, you'll beluck if you've ordered and received your food within a half an hour, which means half your lunch is gone, before you've even started eating. Food is over priced compared to some local competition around as well.

Nothing special, it's slightly better than regular pub food but a bit pricier too. Service was hit-and-miss, we were bugged over and over for drinks orders, but the kitchen was slow and we found it hard to get a food order in, and later on, modified. Nothing particularly to recommend, it's a bit of a barn (atmosphere-wise) and it can be filled with loud, abbrasive, yuppies (if you're not one of them, you won't appreciate this!)

Was here for lunch today. The lunch specials (daily wrap, appetizer, soup) are always gorgeous and reasonably priced. However if you order from the menu, its very overpriced for what you get. And agree with everyone else the service is awful, so slow - its a trial to try and get a waiter to even come over to you.

Have eaten here a few times and I think I enjoy it more each time. Myself and my sister went for lunch and both had the Halloumi and Cashew Nut Salad and thought it was delicious. The service was good and the place itself is lovely.

Having read the previous reviews, was not sure how things would go but as I had a pigsback.com voucher for a free bottle of wine (as long as you bought two main courses) we went along on a Saturday at 6pm. Was pretty quiet then (wanted to beat the Saturday night rush). No problems with service, no issue with the pigs back voucher and the food was fine. It's a small enough menu. Can't go too far wrong. House wine which I mentioned was free with the voucher, was reasonably priced at €15.50. The non-house wines looked a bit expensive. Overall happy with the experience.

Food wise, the Odeon is excellent. The pork medallions with mustard and mash are excellent as are the bangers and mash. Chocolate brownie and bread and butter pudding both delicious too. However, if you are going to charge restaurant kind of prices in a pub setting, then the service needs to be seriously improved. The venue was nearly empty, there were at least three serving staff on duty and it still took an age to get served. Two of the orders were mixed up (one sandwich without sauce was given to the person who wanted sauce). All in all, I'd go back once more as the food was good but if the service doesn't improve, I'd vote with my feet. The surrounding area is packed with office staff looking for good food at good prices and if the venue is nearly empty on a Friday lunchtime, well, that says it all.

If you go in expecting pub food quality, you won't be disappointed. We had a late Sunday brunch here, ordered a veggie breakfast and a halloumi & cashew salad, tea and juice. The food was good; there was a multiple mix up with the order, but it was resolved in a very professional manner. The halloumi salad would have thrived with a little balsamic vinegar; otherwise it was an inspired dish. The space is bright and nice and late on a Sunday afternoon it wasn't very loud or crowded.

Came here at 5.30 on a Tuesday. The food was good for pub grub but way overpriced, and the service was dreadful given that the place was empty. We had to go to the bar to get a waitress to come over to our table and take the order.

Poor. I have been here several times for lunch and have never been impressed. The pasta is below average, the sandwiches are tasteless and my biggest problem is the price. Far too expensive for what you're getting. Possibly worse than all this is the service. Just appalling. Rude, terribly slow, awful.

Ate lunch here last month. The Odeon's architecture & surroundings is impressive to say the least. Pity you could not say that about the food & service. Lunch menu has a decent choice, but is hugely over priced for what you get. Our waiter was serving far too many tables by himself at lunch time. Meaning no one got any quality of service at all, apart from your plate being shoved on the table in front of you. A service charge of 15% is added onto tables of 6 or more. Our table had 6 people at it, but this Service charge is not written on the menu. So we did query it on our bill & ask for it to be removed as we weren't provided with any kind of service at all. Don't think I will return again.

Ate here at lunch & it was very busy. Ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad & it was delicious - my only problem is that they were 4 people in my party & 2 had to wait an extra 10 mins for their food after 2 meals had arrived. Service was poor but this is due to the lack of staff rather than quality of service. Would go back again though as there is a good lunch menu to select from.
