Returned here to see if the first visit was as good as memory served. It was. Along with 2 very fussy friends, we availed of the Early Doors menu - €18 for 2 courses and €22 for 3 courses. Had the crab cakes to start - which consisted of mainly crab as opposed to potato, then hake fillet and white asparagus on a bed of garlic risotto, with chocolate brownies for dessert. All 3 dishes were superb, full of flavour and beautifully presented. My 2 friends were really impressed and we would definitely recommend the Exchange. Food of this quality at those prices is just amazing, On Weds you can bring your own wine and no corkage charged!!!! Service excellent, especially from the Welsh waiter who could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Staff like this should be valued - they make such a difference to the whole dining experience.

A friend and i decided to pop in for a quick bite hearing the food was good. We decided to share a bowl of mussels soaked in a lovely white wine and garlic sauce with fries on the side. overall the food was quite nice and the service was great. We opted for a sauvignon blanc which went well with our food. Good experience overall.

Went here with a menu pages voucher so we had a bit of a blow out. The food and service was great, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed but with a classy feel to it. I got baked camembert to start and my boyfriend had a seafood platter, both of which were generous in size. I got the halibut for main course which was very tasty and my boyfriend was very happy with his venison. There was plenty of choice on the menu. Overall I had an enjoyable evening of good food and nice wine and would return.

I came here with my boyfriend just before Christmas. There was a special seasonal menu, 2 courses for 35e and 3 courses for 39e. I had a menupages voucher for a bottle of house wine. We had two courses each and shared a dessert. I had scallops to start...... tasty and well cooked but very small!!!! My boyfriend had duck pate which was also nice. Unfortunately the mains were not up to scratch, i had the halibut and he had the lamb. The lamb was extremely fatty and inedible. The halibut was also well cooked but served on a chorizo and bean mix..... not very appetizing. We shared a chocolate mint cake which was not great either and, believe it or not we were both still a little peckish after such small portions! Such bad value for money.

The restaurant is very nice, spacious and tables are big and well separated. Food menu is not too large but the options are appetising. When the food was brought to us we were very impressed with the presentation, the flavours and portion size. I could not go for desert I was so full with a starter and a main course. The waiters were excellent and not too intrusive. My only complaint was the price for an expreso coffee 3.70 for literally 5 drops of coffee.

First time here with my partner celebrating our anniversary. I have to admit the restaurant makes the evening extra special with the quality of service and excellent music. The food was excellent and portions was perfect, the house wine was very tasty and price was very good for what you get. We went up to the hotel bar after for a digestive and it was one of the nicest bars in Dublin, the decor made the ambience very relaxing and a feeling of being outside. Highly recommand this place and ill definitely be back again and again.

Lovely meal here on Friday - the early bird menu is great value, at just under €20 for 2 courses. To start, I had the duck terrine with ginger bread, which was nice enough. However, I was jealous of my mates choice of starter, the baked goats cheese. It came in a ceramic dish with a lid along with a side of peach compote & brioche. The goats cheese was melt on the mouth delicious, the flavours wonderful. For my main I had the chicken, again it was excellent. However, my friend had to send back the halibut, as it had not cooked through - we did get a glass of wine for our troubles however! The service here is excellent - a great spot.

Dined here with a friend and used a voucher from Menupages (Buy one main course and get one complimentary). To start we shared a seafood platter of oysters, smoke salmon, prawns, crab spring rolls and brown bread. My friend who doesn't normally eat seafood was very impressed. The prawns were succulent and the oysters were delicious. For my main, i opted for the sirloin steak which was served with chunky chips, onion rings, grilled cherry tomatoes and bernaise sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly, still tender and juicy. Being quite full we shared a dessert of chilled lemon and blueberry soufflé, pistachio cookie. The dessert was quite light and delicate. We enjoyed it very much. I will definitely go back again. The food is fantastic!

Myself and my girlfriend ate here for the first time on Saturday. We were both very impressed with the restaurant and the service. The fish starter and the fillet steak were both very good. There was a good choice of wine which was reasonably priced. Overall we really enjoyed it and will definitely go back. With our menupages voucher for a buy one get one free main course it was particularly good value.

My partner and I decided to come here on Saturday, using our menu points to get us a free bottle of house wine. As we looked at the menu, it turned out there were around 20 bottles of wine we could choose from which was brilliant as generally with these vouchers, you have 1 choice. We were also impressed that they had no problem with us ordering from the Early Bird menu along with this deal. I had the gnocci to start which was fantastic and came in the most wonderful creamy sauce, while he had the pork cheek and really enjoyed it too. The waitress had also put a selection of breads on the table which were great for mopping up all the lovely juices. For main, I had the baked halibut while he had the steak - both dishes were cooked to prefection and every mouthful was devoured! The only problem I had was that I didn't have room for dessert! :p The waitress we had was fantastic too - we never filled our own glasses once and she was friendly and helpful without being overpowering. Altogether a truly fantastic meal with excellent service - we will definately be back!

excellent food and service, it is good to see that the staff will recommend wine and food combinations. The restaurant was quiet - I suppose it was a Tuesday night. Very hard to fault except the toilets were miles away. But still has teh old celtic tiger policy of cost - it is expensive

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and every time is better than the previous one.The last time I took a couple of friends after having told them how great it is and they were pleasently surprised. The restaurant is chich and the service very attentive.Since we went several times we tried everything on their early bird menu and I have to say that I can't choose which one is my favourite since everything is simply gorgeous. On our last visit I had onion soup, simply delicious beyond belief. As main course I had salmon, which sometimes I found a bit boring, but here was so well presented and so good it was just great. For dessert I had a lamon tart, to explain how good it was I can simply say that normally I don't like lemon tarts but this one was superior. We ordered a very reasonably priced (and good) house wine. This has to be the best restaurant in the city center, a hidden gem.

The dining room is beautiful and you are made feel very welcome from the very start. We (me and partner) were there as part of the Dine in Dublin week with a special menu of 4 courses for €25. This was great value although if I had one complaint it would be that the mains weren't fantastic (but for €25 its a small complaint). Service was poor. We arrived and the venue wasn't particularly busy but our server didn't seem to be on top of her service and this got worse as the restaurant got busier. There is a dj on on a Friday night and the music is jazzy/bistro which is pleasant. however we found it quite difficult to hear each other as the tables are broad and the space allocated per table is plenty (not a complaint because it's quite often the other way round where the table space is small and you can hear the table next to you eating!) Can imagine if there was a larger group trying to converse across tables and diners that it would be difficult

I was looking for somewhere in the city centre to go for a graduation meal, which wasn't too pricey at lunchtime and wasn't too stuffy either!. The exchange restaurant offered us both along with a diverse menu for the family. two course for 25euro or 3 for 30euro which was just perfect! The atmosphere was fantastic aswell. I got the braised lamb shank which was so tender the meat was falling off the bone. Just delicious. Other options at our table were chicken supreme and steak, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed!. Will definitely go here again. Also a trip to the mint bar downstairs for a cocktail afterwards just topped the evening off. I'd love to try the atrium lounge now aswell..

I ate here on Saturday for a Christmas dinner with friends. The food was nice, the steak main specifically was gorgeous. The staff and atmosphere were only ok. We waited a long time to order and had to ask for water numerous times throughout. They weer busy but I didn't find them to be very attentive. In saying that, it is a nice setting to have dinner with friends.

Attended a family celebration here on Saturday night. Beautiful dining room and a really lovely candlelit table. The staff were attentive, friendly and professional. The early bird menu is fantastic value. My starter of French onion soup was delicious and the lamb shank main course was perfectly cooked and was accompanied by particularly tasty creamed potatoes and veg. Everyone at the table was equally complimentary about the food and service and we would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant. Will definitely return - I'm just annoyed I didn't discover The Exchange earlier!

I don’t think I found one flaw with this place. It is reasonably priced, the staff are so lovely and friendly and efficient! I had the goats cheese and pear starter, gorgeous and then we both had the steak, medium to rare, champ and onion rings. I love steak and this was divine. I have every intention of returning. We asked for a quiet corner and we got a lovely little area by the window, so it was perfect. I loved this and have been dreaming about that champ ever since. It was so good. The dessert menuwas amazing and we found it very hard to settle on 2, when we wanted to get them all!!! Another reason to return :)

The Exchange restaurant is great. The food is very tasty and the early bird menu very good value. It was fairly busy the evening we visited but not as busy at it deserves to be. The staff were the highlight of this experience, they couldn't have been more helpful. The setting was bright, airy and roomy, a far cry from the cramped dining conditions so often experienced in other city centre restaurants. I will return.

Booked in for the Sunday Brunch following a recommedation from a friend. We're three champagne loving folk so went for the unlimited champage offer (€58). Staff were friendly and professional and very generous with the champagne. The food was excellent - something for everything and great desserts (chocolate bread pudding was delicious). The room itself is a bit dark so it may be more of an evening spot but the food and service definitely make up for it. I will definitely be back.

Probably the fancied restaurant Ive ever eaten in. The restaurant was immaculate. The service was phenomenal. We went for the Sunday brunch with unlimited champagne. Well worth the price. The choice of food was great and it was all really nice. The unlimited champagne really is unlimited. I expected it to be just a few glasses but the waiter kept filling my glass up at every opportunity, even as I was paying the bill. Not the kind of place I would go to regularly but great for a special occasion. Great relaxing live music too.

Considering this is in the city centre I can't believe it wasn't until I saw te menu on DIne in Dublin that I was aware of it. Service was excellent, we were made feel both at ease and looked after as soon as we arrived. In fact several times throughout the meal we were asked was everything alright. We were offered a choice of rolls, we went with tomato and onion, they were warm and delicious served with a choice of butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My clam starter was good as was my friends mushrooms on sourdough bread. For mains the lamb shank was lovely although I like my redcurrent jus a little sweeter but it was all eaten. My friends ribeye was good, a bit chewy but enjoyable. Desserts of Toffee & banana cheesecake and bitter lemon tart finished off a great meal. I'll definitely be back with such great service and food.

The service was excellent, extremely professional and friendly, very welcoming. I got the early bird menu. The food was good but it wasn't exceptional. Still a good value. The location of the restaurant is OK, maybe a bit loud but yet plenty of space between the tables, which remind you that you are in a restaurant, not in a canteen like some establishments. The bar upstairs is very nice, do not hesitate to go for drink or just take a look.

Wonderful restaurant-highly recommend! Visited here for the 1st time last night with my friend, and will definitely be back...A very warm welcome was extended from the start and we were offered a selection of tables, which was very thoughtful. Staff were amazing- highly considerate, yet unobtrusive. My starter of mushrooms/brioche arrived- beautifully presented in a le creuset hotpot. It was delicious..My friend was equally impressed with her chicken caesar salad, which was generous in size and did not scrip on poultry portion. We both plumped for the seatrout main, which was a work of art in presentation...Taste was sublime- fish was perfectly cooked and ocean fresh..Risotto rice can be very dry, but not so in this case- it was moist and meted in the mouth. Desserts were out of the question as we were both full to the gills , but there was a lovely range so next time!! The Westin hotel has a beautiful bar, so I would certainly recommend an after dinner drink in these beautiful surroundings...All ain all- this is a fabulous restaurant, with amazing staff(nothing was too much trouble)...It deserves to be packed out every night...I have already made my next reservation!!!

After reading the good reviews on menupages I decided to give this restaurant a try. I booked a table for 2 on Friday night. One of the good thing about this place was the service which was prompt, efficient and friendly. Good atmosphere as well with a jazz music in the background. Music was not too loud. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the chicken and ham hock terrine and my husband ordered the sauteed mushroom dish. Both starters were very salty but I would recommend the mushroom dish as it was better than the terrine. After that I had the salmon as the main and my husband had the lamb shank. The portions were very generous but i was a bit disappointed because my salmon was too fatty and the butter at the bottom of the plate made it worse. Lamb shank was good. To top that we shared a lemon tart which was also good. Overall it was a very good value meal with 3 courses at 22,50 euros and 2 courses for 18,50 euros. The service was first class but a bit let down on the food.

Mrs Slurryhead and I had a most enjoyable meal here on Friday night of the Italian rugby match weekend. We choose from the pre theatre menu which is great value at €18.50 for 2 course and €22.50 for 3 courses. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and service was brisk without being rushed. Her ladyship had the wild mushrooms to start while I had the clams. Both dishes were large helpings and very tasty. We then had the salmon and risotto which were well presented and thoroughly enjoyable. We finished with a shared toffee banofffee dessert which was so well presented, it was a shame to eat it. Our bill for 2 came to €41 which was the best value for quality food, service and presentation, I've had in town for some time. The only downside is that the wine list and other drinks are very pricey but I suppose they have to make their money somewhere. We'll be back very soon. Slurryhead.

We visited this restaurant for the early bird menu - 2 courses for €18.50. The surroundings are lovely, very comfortable and relaxed. I ordered the chicken and ham rock terrine, i didnt really like the taste of it but i think it just wasnt what i thought it would be. For mains i ordered the mushroom risotto and my partner ordered the steak. Both were lovely dishes but the one downside was that they were extremely salty. Even the potatoes were really salty. We had the lemon tart for dessert and that was beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. I would come back again but would ask them not to put any salt into the dishes!

Came here for the festive dinner menu, although good value several things were below par. My husband had the prawn bisque which he could not finish due to a gritty residue obviously from shells.....very poor. The scallops consisted of two small lukewarm specimens although tasty very disappointing. The mains were ok, again, smallish portions. dessert was the best course, the tart and apricot compote was lovely ad the creme brulee fab although difficult to finish. Wines were overpriced! Also the restaurant was freezing cold, so cold that it made it uncomfortable to eat. One table asked for a heater!!!!! The matre'd promptly produced one from somewhere, but not what you would expect in an upmarket establishment. Also, our coats went astray and we had to wait about 10mins for the flustered waiters to locate them. Overall, I was disappointed. Will think twice about returning.

The restaurant has a good-value Christmas menu at €24 for 3 courses. Decent food at a decent price. Well done. But the wine list is way over priced and the entry level Aussie blends are poor. Service wasn't great - we had to ask for our wine to be left on the table (no point in taking it away and then forgetting about it!). Overall a good menu - very tasty. But the way overpriced wine kind of defeated the purpose!

we went for the early bird menu at €18 for two course or €22 for three. the food was amazing. two of the starters were huge but the scallops was quite small. almost everyone ordered steaks which were huge and apparently delicious. I ordered the trout which was perfectly cooked. I would definately recommend the early bird here as it is a huge saving on what the food normally costs in there. The only expensive part was the wine.

We came here to try the festive dinner menu on Saturday and were very impressed. The service was excellent and friendly, the food absolutely fantastic. I especially loved the scallops starter and the creme brulee. Will definitely be back.

Availed of the dine in dublin offer and wow, what value! The food was absolutely wonderful, such delicious scallops, I think I could single handedly eat them out of stock. Must return for the pre-theatre menu, looks like great value.

Loved it - nice atmosphere, decor, seating. No rushing, staff friendly but a little short staffed I think. Menu is limited but delicious, favourites being scallops and steak. Spring rolls for dessert where a little disappointing but the palette of sorbets was yum. Value incredible and no rushing at all. Loved it!

Was at the menu pages night here and it was superb. Good menu, fabulous food (my particular favourites were the scallops starter and the mash with the main course, also desert presentation was brilliant), great service. Compliments also to the menu pages people for setting it up, made for excellent value and met lots of nice people. Cannot recommend Exchange or a menu pages night highly enough.

My husband and I joined 6 friends to dine in the restaurant during the Dine in Dublin week. The menu was execptional value at 25e, the quality and choice of food was excellent. Scallops and gnochhi featured among the most popular starters. One of the group was delighted that they agreed to do her a starter portion of the risotto. Seabass was the most popular main with 7 of the 8 of us choosing it and we were not disappointed. I had to try the banana spring rolls to see what it was like. They were ok but I wouldn't opt for them again. Some earlier comments about the wine prices rang through for us, we found this also. Having chosen a white in the 30s range we found it was not in stock and so had to choose another one, it was more expensive but lovely. It's just a pity that restaurants have such a mark up on wine. I would definetly go back again, the pre theatre menu runs until 8pm each day which is really good.

Went here for a menupages night out. I can not fault it, Food Service and staff were really brilliant. Never thought of eating in a hotel Resturant, I mostly leave that to when I am staying abroad in a hotel. Excellent resturant and such a fun night, cant wait for the next one guys:)

I attended the Menu Pages Night at Exchange Restaurant, and yet again it was another great night filled with great food, people , and lots of wine. The food was excellent and the venu was perfect. I would return to Exchange again. I hear Menu Pages are having a christmas ball in one of Dublins top hotels and if there nights out are anything to go by it is sure to be amazing.

I went to the Menu pages night out in the Exchange restaurant and I was really impressed. I had heard about the nights but this was my first one! The food and the service were top class. The menu had a great choice, I had scallops for starters and the steak followed by the Ticky toffee pudding was my favorite! The night was great crack... I sat at a table with another group who were up for a laugh we ended up having a sing song! The restaurant manager was great he didn’t mind all the singing he was just happy to see his guests having a laugh! This night was something different its a fun way to go out and eat great food and meet new people. I will definitely be back to the Exchange and to Menu pages nights! :-)

Very nice indeed! Reception was warm and friendly. Pre drink of Prosecco which was lovely... fresh and clean.(T.G. it was not in the Mint Bar...the noise there was dreadful!). The restaurant is bright and cheerful yet it has a relaxing feel to it. Service was very professional. Attentive but not intrusive. Starter of scallops with salsa which were perfect. Sweet fish with the slight tart of salsa with capers. I had my first ever Potatoe Gnocchi and what a revelation! Great mix of flavours which were delicate, creamy and delicious. I rarely have steak out ...it is just so, so boring. It was all I could see for me on the menu. But a good steak is a joy. This rib eye was good....not great. I like the outside really grilled/crisp with the inside pink, juicy and full of flavour. The chef did well to get me to finish this one! The sea trout was just OK. The dessert of the mini spring rolls are a bit of an enigma for me. I like all of the ingredients but putting these together is a very skilful exercise. To get them cooked to perfection is difficult and it just didn't happen this time. Dry, overcooked and flavourless. I left them. The Ticky (sic) Toffee Pudding was good. The white Chilean Sauvignon Blanc was delicious. Fresh, crisp, easy drinking white with lots of fruit. No horrible acidic after taste which can so often happen with this grape. A good one, and I am sure it is very good value. Overall a very nice experience and we will be back.

Hubby and I ate here for dine in dublin week and it was fantastic. I had gnocchi to start followed by seabass - delicious! Hubby had smoked salmon and soda bread followed by the rib eye and he was one happy man!. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding which was yum and cant remember exactly what hubby had - something with nougat? but he thoroughly enjoyed that too. We also had some homemade breads which were lovely. Service was second to none, athmosphere was fine but the only (slight) complaint was the price of the wine. The cheapest bottle was 31.00. We had one bottle of marques de riscal rueda which was 33.00 but only costs 11.99 in my local supervalu. Overall a fantastic meal but it would be no harm to have one or two more wallet friendly bottles of wine on the menu.

Superb meal. Without a doubt one of the best pre theatres I have had in Dublin. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. We had Scallops and gnocchi for starters. Both were delicious but gnocchi slightly the better. Fresh baked breads were lovely. Onion bread was as nice as I have tasted. I had rib eye for mains. Not the most tender rib eye ever but v tasty. Mustard mash excellent and onion rings were lovely touch. Jus which accompanied steak really added depth of flavour. Other main was Butternut squash and it too was v tasty although as with most risotto can be a little samey after a while. Desserts were both superb. Banana, nougat and chocolate spring rolls were really innovative and tasty and sticky toffee and date pudding was also fantastic. Overall a great dining experience and I would recommend to anybody.

I visited here last friday with a couple of friends for the pre theatre menu. The portions were just perfect. The gnoochi to start was so nice, I really could have eaten it all night. My friend had the scallops which were also fab. The steak for main course was exceptional and mashed potato was so tasty. For an early bird this is such a great offer and the quality of food is outstanding. It was very quite on friday and maybe lacked in atmosphere but will definately be coming bcak for this offer.

Went there last night with my boyfriend. We heard their Early Bird menu was amazing so we decided to try it out and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing! The portions were just perfect, the presentation was beautiful and the food was out of this world. Never had better gnocchi it was melting in my mouth. My boyfriend had the scallops and they were jut as great. The Sea Trout was also amazing and the idea of using orange instead of lemon was genius! Oh and the dessert - banana and nougat spring rolls, such an unusual but great idea. I also recommend their cocktails, bit on the expensive side but they are quite original and I'd say will be hard to find anywhere else. We are looking forward to going back already.

we had the early bird here last night. We arrived at 6pm when it first opened and there were already 3 tables then. It is a nice restaurant with high ceiling, elegant contemporary design. There were a few waiters , including the manager. Service was top quality, waiters very polite & attentive yet not intrusive, leaving us just enough time to decide on the meals and wine. The early bird menu is relatively limited (3 chioces each for starters, main, desserts) but it had what we wanted. my starter of scallops was succulent & delicious.my partner had the gonocchi & duck confit, slightly dissapointed with it as only few streaks of duck confit on top of gonocchi . Nevertheless, his main course of 8oz ribe eye steak made up for it. My trout was very good too.We both had the toffee pudding, it was hugh portion, very moist and just right for the sweetness.very well with their vanilla ice cream. The presentations of all the food were top quality. There were people coming in from time to time, by the time we finish half the restaurant was filled. Atmosphere was just right. the 3 course dinner for 2, plus half bottle red wine & tips come up to 70 Euro which is very reasonable for the service & food we get. We would be going back again for their early bird ,but would be a bonus if they change their menu.

me and my wife had early bird dinner last Friday. well, I must say that we were very surprised. quality and taste of food was excellent. for me presentation of scallops has Michelin standard. cannot complain for service. overall I HIGHLY recommend early bird menu. not even a price(22e for 3 course!) but quality and presentation are worth a go.

Ate here on a Sunday for the Jazz brunch. Nice guitar jazz player in the background although it didn’t live up to what I was expecting for “jazz”. Solo guitarist!! The place was busy with a mixture of friends/couples and families. Waiting staff were on the ball and very professional at all times. I had not been to a “buffet” in some time. At 45 Euro a head including a glass of champagne I was expecting top notch – it’s not quite there. A good selection of salads, meats etc are presented for starters. My only complaint is that they were not being replenished quickly enough. Mains included shellfish, meats, fishes and good vegetarian options, even tasty sushi. There was no sign of the supposed Oysters that I have seen on the menu. However in saying that the mains were excellent. The beef medallions with red wine jus and mash were to die for, so tender. Dessert was a choice of standard cakes from a dessert trolley, smoothies, and a white chocolate fountain accompanied by fresh fruits. Thought there could have been a little more imagination to the dessert trolley although the cheesecake was lovely and light. Overall a nice dining experience but for 45 Euro a pop I would not be rushing back, nice for a once off buffet experience. Top marks to the staff. Very professional and courteous.

Had the early bird meal with 3 friends and we had the 2 course meal for 22 euro and had a bottle of wine free with the meal. Two of our party had a starter and main course of Sea trout and the other two had the rib eye steak and desert. The food was excellent and the service was good, but unfortunately due to the lack of customers at the time the restaurant lacked athmosphere.

I was only in this restaurant once and it was at one of their sensory dining nights. It was great fun. We didn't know the food being served to us in advance and were blindfolded throughout. The staff were very pleasant and helpful - essential as you are dependent on them for negotiating your way around the food! A glass of wine was served with each course that was suitable for the food being served. We enjoyed the fun of guessing the food and wine as we went along. At the end of the meal we were given the outline of the food and drink that we had for the evening. If you are someone that enjoys food and are open to having your food choice removed from you then I would recommend this night. We have already signed up for the next one!

I had been here before in April for the unlimited champagne brunch and really enjoyed it but this time the buffet was in a large function room & it lost alot of it's atmosphere & charm. While in April the staff apologised for allowing our glasses to run dry, this time we had to ask to be topped up. The service was poor enough. Would recommend it on a regular sunday as good value for money but steer clear around xmas time!!!!

All my previous outings were a lot more delicious than this one at the Exchange. It is certainly a solid fish/seafood restaurant although not well known for this in Dublin. I think shouldn't have ordered the champignon consomme (rather dull, poor selection) to start with. The steak, my main course of choice, was nothing special either. I had it better in other places. My colleagues, on the other hand, were raving about their prawns and scallops. So maybe it was just not my night and I should have focussed on what the Exchange does best? I thought food quality was not as I experienced it to be before (I have been here a few times). Service by their man in charge was top class though.

Had lunch here Thursday. It was quiet enough as you would expect midweek. I was in a group and we all opted for the three course lunch which was great value at €26. The menu offers a great variety, especially for someone like me who isn't a meat eater. I had the smoked salmon starter, the sea bass, and the brioche pudding. We all were very happy with the food, although if I was to be picky I'd note that my coffee only half filled the cup! Service was very good. I really couldn't find fault with anything. I would recommend it and would return.

We had Sunday lunch/brunch on Easter Sunday and we both were very disappointed with the Exchange Restaurant. We had read so many good reviews and therefore were looking forward to lunch. There are 2 sittings for Sunday lunch and we took the 2nd one at 3.30 pm - maybe that was the mistake we made. I am not a big fan of carvery at the best of times but I thought this was going to be different. The lunch costs Euro 42 including a glass of champagne a head. In my books it is not worth it - the food was not hot and I felt some of it had been lying there since the 1 o'clock sitting. The desserts were very disappointing. Overall, we did not enjoy the experience and would certainly not be going back. In its favour, the service was excellent. Such a pity as I have always enjoyed the food at the Atrium.

The Sunday brunch is quite a thing to experience, and worth the money for the sheer decadence of having oysters and champagne for breakfast, but I only had dinner there for the first time this weekend. My selection of starters was excellent, the scallops in particular were delicious. Main course was pork loin, kidney and liver which was spectacularly good. I finished with a trio of Brulees which was also wonderful. Service was attentive and polite, but the delay between courses was far too long. The food is good but expensive, and I have to say that even given the very high quality, the prices are a little high. I would expect something with a little more dazzle for the kind of money I was paying. Nonetheless, a very enjoyable experience, and significantly better from any other hotel restaurant in town.

It's always a pleasant surprise when you choose to dine in a hotel dining room and find that all your preconceived expectations have been exceeded in trumps. On dining in The Exchange on a previous Saturday night we only have praise for the quality of the food presented. Melt in your mouth lobster cannelloni was a lucious surprise when ordering my monk fish mains. In an almost empty restauant we did find the service to be less than stellar which we were able to overlook because of the fine meal that we received. Our kudos to the chef. I recommended the Exchange to friends who followed through with an adult family birthday dinner whose bill ran to the hundreds, only to be remarkably disappointed in the food and the service. In fairness to the restaurant, they did give a complete refund. So maybe it's hit and miss and therein lies the problem of empty tables and inconsistency. It's a shame though as they are capable of great things.

Had dinner here on Friday night and I couldn't recommend it enough. The food was excellent and the service superb. It was very quiet in the restaurant, I suppose like most hotel restaurants tend to be. But despite this, we were not rushed at all and were the last to leave at 12:00. Scallops to start were fantastic, couldn't fault them and I loved the wine recommendations on the menu. I had sea bass for main course and it was divine, perfectly cooked and no fancy accompaniments. Other in the party had sole and beef. I have to say, that as someone who doesn’t like beef it tasted great and was perfectly cooked. Overall we had a very pleasurable dining experience, and the waiters could not do enough to help. I would highly recommend this and as a side note, all their recipes can be adapted for coeliacs.

Went there on St. Patrick’s Day for dinner. Have to agree with previous comment the scallops were excellent. The beef was also very well prepared and I can easily recommend the restaurant on both food and service. The atmosphere was a bit dead but I think that was due to the day and it being empty + repeated the same music too often but only noticed as it was so quiet.

I was looking for a restaurant and didn't want to go to the same usuals, so I decided to try somewhere a little off the beaten track. A friend of mine had been to the Exchange a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it so I decided to give it a shot. For a hotel restaurant it didn't really act like one. The staff didn't have that robotic politeness of another Southside monster of a hotel in Ballsbridge, they seemed genuinely interested in my meal. The food was perfectly cooked and well presented, the Scallops for starter are a real winner and the duck was a great dish that reminded me that that duck can come from other places not just the Chinese. If you want to try something different that all your friends haven't been to this may be it.
