My partner and myself have been regulars in the Bank for the past 2 years. Every few weeks we have a Sunday chicken roast at 6-7pm and listen to a girl that sings there on Sunday. Unfortunately our last dinner wasn't as good as it normally is which was very disappointing. Chicken was very tasty as usual, but veggies were terribly overcooked (please do not add celery sticks to it, they were awful!), we got mash instead of usual roast potatoes and there was no dressing on spinach leaves. Overall the evening was enjoyable as the singing and service was fabulous, but dinner was only average. Hope this review is read by someone in the Bank so they can fix it.

Popped in for lunch this week. Went for the fish and chips which was one of the tastier I've had with 2 large pieces of fish, chips, tartare sauce a mushy peas. This is a simple dish yet so many places get it so wrong. My friend went for the chowder which went down well aswell. Portion sizes are very generous here and service is always very prompt. Great spot for a quick lunch.

Had fish and chips here the last time, which was pretty good. We got a seat in the upstairs area which looks out over the whole place. The staff is professional and friendly. Nice place for after work drinks.

I just popped into The Bank for an after work drink on Friday and there was a good buzz. I never really think of it as somewhere to eat but was pleasently pleased with our food. The sea bass was really fresh and well cooked and the steak and Guinness pie was really tasty. We found the service excellent and I will remember about it the next time I am in town and want to eat, but don't want anything too fussy. I love the actual place, it always feels really grand but the crowd is friendly and mixed.

Wandered in here to have a meal before hitting the Olympia. Lovely guy was straight over to ask if he could help.. we said we wanted to eat - table for 6 - and we were directed to 'the Managers office' which suited us just fine. As it turned out only 2 of us were eating, but this wasn't a problem. I had the burger and chips - really fresh and lovely - if I had one complaint, burger was a tad dry, would've liked more 'sauce'. Bit too much onion (but then I like onion!). Fries were skin on crispy chunky gorgeousness. My friend had the Beef and Guinness pie and loved it. Full of flavour and full of veg. Actually the last time I was here I had the Steak Sandwich which was far superior to the Burger. I think it was €14 for my course, which I still think is slightly pricey for a burger, but I did enjoy it. Service was excellent and I would return, possibly for the Steak Sandwich next time!

Ate in here after work recently. The food was fab. I had the fish and chips while my friend had steak sandwish. Both dishes were delicious. I lved my fish and chips. Fish was nice and thick and not too much batter, while the chunky chips were fab. Will definitely eat here again.

I have visited the Bank on previous occasions and I always new what to expect. But tonight I was not prepared for the level of rudeness shown at our table by the on duty manager. Myself,my wife,my daughter and her partner had a table booked for 7.00pm,we arrived on time and after ordering a drink and deciding on our menu choice we were served our main course at 7.45pm. We had finished the main course and ordered another drink and paid the bill by 8.15pm,when the waitress returned with our receipt we were asked to vacate the table as it was'needed'.Of course we refused as we had barely digested our meal and we still had drinks in front of us.You would have to ask had we ordered desert would we have to consume it at the bus stop outside. The manager came to our table and was very forcefull in asking us to leave, after our pleas were ignored we got up and left, never to return again. Happy Mothers day!

I like this bar. Always a good place to go if you fancy a pint and some nice food. I had the steak sandwich on my most recent visit. Nicely cooked, not too much fat on it and a generous portion of chips accompanied it. Good service and spotless toilets.

I had another family dinner here, and we had the pleasure of a table in the "manager's office", which was like a private dining room. It had lots of interesting artefacts on the wall, which proved interesting conversation pieces. Food was delicious and service incredibily efficient considering we were hidden away on a very busy night. I'd the aspargus to start, which was really lovely, and sea bass for main, which was excellent and a very good sized portion. I was a bit disappointed in the chocolate cake for dessert, but overall had a really enjoyable meal in the Bank. It was very loud in the main bar, where people were eating too. So plan your table according to your preference!

Very good pub food - delicious. As good as many city central restaurants. The only thing was eating on bar stools is probably not as enjoyable as eating at a regular table but what do you expect when you order food while sitting at a bar stool! :-) Very good, will definitely return.

My visit to Dublin from the States has been superb but in part to this amazing establishment! I have been back time and again during my stay here as the food is a true treat with hearty portions. The staff is remarkable and some of the friendliest people if I have had the pleasure to meet here. The service is timely but not pushy so it caters to a relaxed atmosphere. The food selection is perfect for the clientele it is catering too with exceptional value. I love the history of the location and the awesome beauty it has maintained. I will continue to return prior to leaving for home and boast about it to all my friends and family. Well done!!

The building itself is wonderful. Its a great place for a restaurant. The decor is fantastic. The food was very nice but I found that there wasn't a good selection on the menu. The starters in particular were quite limited. The staff were very friendly and attentive to anybody's needs at the table.

Went there with a friend and had the Seatrout fillet (menu of the day) with side salad and mash. Simple but bringing out all the flavours of the fish, well balanced palate. The atmosphere of the place is simply superb adding to the great service and not having to wait for the food for long. A place to go back to, for sure.

One of the best places to eat in the city centre based on price, atmosphere and service. The food here is consistently of good quality and very reasonably priced. Although at weekends it can sometimes be difficult to get a table, definitely worth the wait as there is something to suit everyone on the menu.

I have visited the bank twice in the past week, primarily because of its location. It is hard to get good bar food in the city centre, but the Bank have certainly achieved this! On the first occasion I opted for the steak sandwich. This was delicious and came with onion rings and fried/caramelised onions, a lovely bearnaise sauce and fab homemade chips. The presentation was excellent too! On the second occasion I choose the vegetarian linguini which again was delicious, and a huge portion. The best thing about the bank is that you are guaranteed good quality food at a good price. The only fault I can struggle to find is that on the second occasion we were waiting a good while for our food, even though it was much quieter than the first occasion!

Plush is one word to describe this restaurant-cum-bar. Beautiful furnishings and fixtures, marble floors and chandeliers, and a lovely mezzanine level with a great view of the busy bar below. The food is inexpensive, filling and delicious.

Went for Sunday lunch here with a friend, service was ok, one waitress was nice and friendly, the other one scowled at us. One lady fall off her chair, on one went to help her, another waiter spilled a tray full of drink over a customer while she was seated..OTHER THAN THIS the food was ok, we both had steak medium to well, was more well though. We also had the sweet potatoe fries and heavenly apple pie and ice cream for dessert. Good value for money, probably wouldnt head back as there is nicer food else where in town. Loved the decor though.

"What an uninsperational menu" were my first thoughts upon reading it. They have also an early bird offering which really doesn't equate. It's a 2 course deal but if you look at the menu prices, you can get a lot of the starters with a main for less than the early bird price? I went for soup to start which was supposed to be veg which tasted out of a packet and way over salted. The burger for mains looked decent but was dwarfed by the collosal baps surrounding it, so it couldn't be picked up and after removing the top bap, you could cut into the burger but not through the lower deck of bread, meaning the burger fell apart, I felt like asking for a spoon to eat the burger... Winelist - not much to sing about here. Campo Viejo would be the best of a bad lot but it's quite pricey. I went for chilean merlot which sounded beautiful in its' description on the winelist but tasted nothing like it in the glass. Even after breathing for over a half hour it didn't get any better. It's a stunning building in an ideal location - HUGE potential for an ambitious chef but I won't be going back until they have some kind of a renaissance in the kitchen

Really enjoyed the Bank experience, the atmosphere was amazing (we sat upstairs) and the food was top class for a very reasonable price. Have also visited the Bank for drinks after the Ireland French rugby match and it was packed, would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to socialise with a good buzz.

Work close by so visit here alot for lunch and on occassion for a pint and evening meal, Ive yet to be disappointed. I was in charge of booking the Christmas party and nervously chose here for a meal for 40 I neednt have worried, the food and service were excellent and everyone had a great time, I think youd struggle to find a dublin bar with a better atmosphere. I was here again on monday night I had the beef and guinness stew which was delicious service was friendly and attentitive and all things considered with the style of the place very competitive on price for drinks. Ill definitely keep returning!

Been here a few times for food and more often than not have the sausage and mash with a pint of Smithwicks! Took my brother and his fiance here for a quick bite during a shopping spree and everyone left full and satisfied. Was seated upstairs as it was really busy everywhere but enjoyed it all the same. I was here with 2 friends 2 weeks ago. We wanted to eat upstairs and because it's Christmas party season we were told while it was no problem there would be christmas party group there too. The service was great, the food was tasty enought but the organiser of the other party was a problem- there was obviously something wrong with the food that her party got and she made sure everyone could here her. In fact she was so rude that one of the waitresses began to cry thinking that the service was the root of the problem - so to that woman- thankyou for also ruining our night. I have eaten in The Bank before and food has always been very good.

Not too bad, had the fish and it was a tad greasy but good quality for pub grub. waitress wasn't great she moved an elderly couple from a table that seated three to a table right next to me because there might be more people later, we were the only two tables occupied in the entire space. id go again but its nothing special

Went to the Bank for lunch on Sat. It was my first time there. Really enjoyed it. Loved the location of the restaurant upstairs. The service was good and we never felt rushed at any stage. The food was excellent and it was really good value for money. What I also really liked was that I got an e-mail from the bank a couple of days later in which they thanked me for eating there and hoped that I enjoyed the food etc. It was really nice and the first time I had experienced this from any restaurant. Nice touch and good customer service!

Have eaten here a few times and the food is consitently good and portion sizes very generous. It was very quiet the evening we were in but the warm fire is always very welcoming. The wine was a bit on the poor side but not enough to put me off another visit. Will just order a different bottle next time! :-)

I was here during the week, and was not bowled over by the food. I love the bar, its a great place to go to for a few drinks, but maybe not for food. I had the half chicken and chips. There was very little gravy with it, and ya need a decent amount of gravy to have with it. Also, the chunky chips were not cooked all the way through which was a bad sign. I will definitely go back again for a few drinks but may not eat there.

After meeting a friend in Dublin yesterday, we decided to go to The Bank for lunch. It was my first visit and I was impressed. I had the chowder to start which was extra creamy and full of fish. I then opted for the beef ciabata. Which was on the large side and came with a bowl of crisp salad. Beef was tender and delicious. Service was very attentive and at €25 pp including beers and tip, I think it was good value for money.

I had a delicious soup of the day with coconut milk and they serve 2 rolls and butter with it. The service personal is quick and friendly. The interior is really nice. It's a pitty that the room is too small. On a Sat evening it could get very crowdy.

Have dined here twice and have yet to be disappointed. Excellent service and delicious food from a smallish menu. Had the sausages and mash this time, and found it to be the tastiest I've had, which is saying something as I order that a lot. Wife had the salmon and said it was lovely. Hard to fault as a pub-grub sort of place.

I have been to the Bank many times for drinks but only recently for food. I was impressed with the food although it was a little on the small side (maybe I was just very hungry) - great atmosphere as always but not a place I would go with a large group to eat!

Go hear for lunch quite regularly as it's just around the corner from work. Service is always brilliant, soup can be sometimes unusual but very nice and the mains are lovely. Had a function here recently for 50 upstairs and it was a great night.

We went to the bank on Friday at 8pm. It's a bad time to go as it's a very popular bar and the noise from the punters was really loud and we had to shout across the table, couldn't even hear the waitress speak. The starter chicken & liver paté was nice, the Sea Bass for main was just okay. My friend's steak had a big lump of fat in the middle though. Was overall very disappointing as the first time we ate there it was very nice.

A great venue for nice pub grub in the centre of town. I had the half roast chicken with mash instead of fries and it was very tasty. The American mud pie was delicious. Service was very prompt and friendly. Good value for money and consistent quality.

Went in for a few drinks with a friend and at 22 felt very young. But everyone is on a good buzz so after a drink you all sort of blend in together. The building itself makes the place worth a visit. Still looks like a bank when you walk in! Have a wander around, order a cocktail. They're not overpriced and make for a fun stop on a night out in town! Close to lots of other little restaurants around Exchequer St and Temple Bar so if you decide to grab something to eat after or before. Quite busy but makes for a good atmosphere.

We went there on Thursday after work. Place was full of well-dressed office people and it was very busy, only 2 tables were free! Don't sit upstairs by the door (horrible smell from toilets!) but do order Half Chicken and American mud pie (Wonderful! Comes with beautiful ice-cream). Chicken Curry was fresh and spicy but not very thick. Service was absolutely perfect. Great place for few pints and quick meal. It's called "Bar and restaurant" but it really is JUST A PUB!

This place used to be the banking hall of the old Royal Bank and it has been superbly transformed into a cheerful restaurant. I was there for lunch last week. The main floor supports an island bar in the middle surrounded by tables, and a new balcony faces the entrance from the street. The whole is surmounted by a dramatic curved decorative plaster ceiling, preserved from the original bank building. My partner and I had reserved a table in the balcony. The service from the word go was silent and efficient, but with no chemistry between waiter and customer. This is not a criticism, he was just that kind of man, but there was no friendly banter or chat. We had a light lunch. For €8.50 I had shredded duck with onions and something else, all in a filo pastry. It tasted delicious, but was only luke warm – was it meant to be hot and had cooled down, or to be cold and had warmed up in a hot kitchen? I couldn’t decide. My partner had prawns which looked very good. This was not a great exploration of the menu, but from what we could see around us, the Bank restaurant should be an excellent place for an informal lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price. We certainly intend to go again and find out.

A pleasant lunch here yesterday. Service better than previous reviews. We had a good table on the balcony. Food was good - but the Dublin Bay Prawns (as listed on the menu) were definitely Tigers and tougher than expected. Would go back.

I've eaten at the Bank twice during lunch and both times had trouble with slow service. The food is lovely, although the steak I had first time was a bit chewy and the curry I had this time was far too large for a lunch-time meal and not particularly Thai-tasting. The Bank is very very close, if they could sort out the service and get us our meals so we didn't have to give ourselves indigestion in order to make it back to the office then we'd come here a lot more often.

I had a meal and a drink here with my sister on Thursday before going to the Olympia. The place was really buzzing at 6pm, we were lucky to get a seat! I had the half roast chicken and chips and my sister had the stew. These were the nicest chips I've eaten in a long time, perfect. The stew was also delicious, tender meat and so tasty. A couple of glasses of wine rounded it off very nicely. I must also mention the waiter/barman, he was so pleasant and chatty it made for an all round great experience.

Myself and a friend ate here last night. The menu we were given was completely different from the menu on this website and the menu I was given the last time I was here. It is a much smaller menu and a lot more expensive and it also contains my biggest pet hate - charging extra if you want a potato or a vegetable with your meal. I hate places that do this and because of this I won't be back in this bar. The food was lovely but I was still hungry leaving as all I received was a piece of fish and some chopped courgettes. You can't fault the quality of the food and service in here but I would fault the prices and the portions.

Food here is good, but I agree with another reviewer that the cocktails are overpriced! The location is second to none, and as my bus stops very close to the bank, I always arrange to meet people here! It can’t be all bad now can it!!

Best cocktail/food mix in Dublin! Cocktails at a tenner a bit steep but the food is great and very good value. It’s a great place to start a nite out and the relaxed furniture and atmosphere may make you stay all nite. Huge fireplace, which is really comfy during this horrible wet weather!

Can't be beaten for top class bar food in Dublin City - not an easy thing to get. Good atmosphere, great food & the bill won't be a major shock! Perfect for a bit of grub before a night of comedy at the International Bar.

You can't get a much nicer looking pub eat in Dublin. It just oozes affluence. Their all day breakfast is amazing. The herbs in the sausages, the fluffy scrambled eggs, pudding and tomato. Very good and not bad value for the size. Staff are very nice, although it can be hard to get their attention if it's full. Definitely worth a visit.

As I used to work near by I would pop in here for lunch. Absolutely gorgeous on the inside and the food is really good for a pub, I return solely for the food as I find a certain member of staff, a girl, to be a miserable git. She has yet to smile while I am there, then maybe she will get a tip. Goat’s cheese is yum I recommend it. Don’t sit upstairs you get ignored!

If you’re meeting someone for a couple of drinks, and you want to grab a bite to eat, you will not be disappointed. Chicken wings are one of the best and the decor is gorgeous. Keep an eye out for the old bank safes on the way to the toilets! The staff are really nice too.

Lovely interior and surrounding. Great place for lunch. Not so much a restaurant as a bistro/pub. Good value.
