Like other reviewers on menupages I had a voucher for a tex mex platter and five coronas, but I was a little disappointed there were no chicken wings as promised. Neither my dining companion or myself could eat pork ribs and I was really looking forward to chicken wings. But the mini fajitas and the nachos were lovely and the veg burritos were just ok. I tried a lovely new craft beer called Dubliner which was on special for €3.30 and it was really lovely, like a light weissbier. Nice spot, very popular for saturday night drinks, good spot to make an impression, I would imagine.

Went there with the Citydeal voucher. 5 corona and one platter. The food were good, compared with other pubs I do think its relatively healthy. The chicken wings were tasty, i liked the burritos but my bf felt they were just okay. Anyway, the atmosphere wasn't bad, quiet relax and cool.

I have been there twice recently and I really enjoy it, first was Arthur's Night, when we nipped in, saw the Gypsy Rebel Rabble and ended up staying way to long in front of the Erdinger taps. Service was altogether too quick! On Tuesday I dropped in to see someone just before lunch; there he was sitting at the bar, he said "are you havin some lunch?", I said I only dropped in for a cup of tea with him. Before I had finished the argument, tea and a biscuit arrived! I love a good barman! I did have lunch, a chicken wrap and chips, did I make a mistake on the price, seemed to be only a fiver? Most of the stuff on the menu was eight or nine euro and ample portions My usual favourite is the vegetarian pad thai. The flavour is incredible. I have only found this site, now that the recession is lifting and we have the money to go out again, so I don't really care about the credibility rating, but I have been to this bar several times, I love the food, I like the Solas Lite Beer (I can drink and enjoy the beer without getting mad drunk, unlike Arthur's night on the Erdinger!).

Went here as i had purchased a city deal voucher for a tex mex platter and drinks. The first table we were given was wet as the air conditioning was leakin so we had to move tables, which was grand. The food came out pretty quick, the platter consisted of mini burritos, mini vegetable fajitas, chicken wings, nachos and a selection of dips. All of it was very tasty and your could tell it had been made fresh. The atmosphere was nice an relaxed which is what i was lookin for on a sunday evening.

Went here for lunch with a group of friends. As we only had an hour for lunch we made sure we were in Solas for 12.10 in order to beat the lunch rush hour. It took the staff 20 minutes to take our order even through there was only another 6/8 people in the venue. It then took another 20/30 minutes for the food to arrive. The food looked and tasted pretty good but unfortunately we didn't have time to eat very much of it. We were very disappointed with the lack of service here and there was no acknowledgment of the late arrival of our food. This place may be good for evening food but with the time taken to order and receive an order for lunch, it's definately not an option for those of us who only have an hour for lunch.

I had received a gift voucher from Citydeals for Solas so I was looking forward to a meal there. When we arrived a member of staff was cleaning the doorstep with a mop and water so we had to wait till her finished to get in. Surroundings were dark and I won't say dirty as I couldn't see clearly but they were not very clean and chairs were uncomfortable. The voucher entitled me to a Tex-Mex meal and 5 beers, great we thought. We didn't receive a menu as they just brought us our alcohol and food. It looked like a treat to get burritos and fajitas, chicken wings and nachos and it was until we realised the only meat we got was the chicken wings! Vegetarian fajitas and burritos, nachos and 3 chicken wings. A little disappointed is an understatement, will not be back.

As we had a gig to go to in Whelans, we wanted somewhere close to grab a bite before so we booked in here - no real need for a reservations, there was maybe 20 other people there max when we arrived after work. We had a drink at the bar first (where the bartender was very good in allowing me to try the Solas Light home brew) before moving to our table. Despite there being what looked like 4 staff members on in a very quiet Wednesday night, we were waiting nearly 15 minutes before our order was taken, which I didn't particularly like. The menu was extensive enough, quite a mixed bag with the traditional pub grub style dishes and then the Thai dishes. Was hard pushed for a decision but went with the burger - delicious! It was juicy and meaty, just the right amount cheese and salad (obviously picked off the gherkin). The chips as well were the proper thick pub style chips - so hard to find these days. In saying all of that, it wasn't completely amazing but I would definitely go back again to sample some of the other dishes. It is great value with many of the mains coming in at under €10!!

I eat here about once a week. The warm taco salad is gorgeous!!! The staff are very chilled and that sums up the atmosphere too. Oh and I love the music! They do a free bbq on friday evenings I've never been to it but i will. The chicken goujons and chips and cheese board are other favourites of mine.

We booked a few tables for a group of us (dinner and drinks). The service was pretty poor, if I'm honest. The girl wouldn't take down ALL of our drink orders at once, so she would get a few drinks, then come back, then get a few more, etc. Also, I had to send my drink back TWICE because she kept getting it wrong. I had the pork ribs to start, which were tasty but a bit dry (and very little meat), the pad thai was very good, however. The atmosphere was good and we had an enjoyable night. It was just a shame that the service wasn't up to scratch.

I came here using a citydeal voucher so got a platter between 4 and a bottle of prosecco. With the voucher it was excellent value. The platter was more than enough for the 4 of us and the food was very nice. The staff were very nice although the place wasn't very busy and you could hear karaoke from upstairs, which was a bit loud over the music they were already playing.

I had a platter of food and a bottle of prosecco here last night as past of a deal I got. The food was very nice and there was loads of it! We were all full by the end which is often not the case when you get a platter. The staff were really friendly and helpful! The seats were nice but the place was very quiet, even for a Sunday! The red lighting in it also makesit seem a bit seedy! I liked it though and would come back for a similar deal. Bit expensive without the deal!

Solas is another handy spot for lunch and I’ve been there a good few times. The menu is a bit dull as it never changes and the specials are always more or less the same. The food is good (pasta, burgers, club sandbos) but it’s just nothing special. The staff are very friendly and always in good form and they make fantastic cocktails. If you are going for lunch with a large group they seat you on the second floor which has proper tables, otherwise you can end up on the first floor that has really low seats. Its an ok eating experience, but I wouldn’t go here for special occasions.

Came here after work for a meal and cocktails with a group and I have to say I was impressed and am going back soon. The new Thai influenced menu was fantastic, loved its authenticity and the tastes were really nice- as good as any Thai restaurant in the city. The rest of the group had various things and everyone seemed really happy with the meal and the service, one guy said it was 'dublins best club sandwich'. Stayed for a few cocktails afterwards and talk about a new york flash back- these guys knew what they were doing, professional, friendly and the best coctails in Dublin. Will deffo head back again.

There were 10 of us and the snow was pelting down outside when we went for our late lunch. We'd pre booked so were able to avail of the lunch special of starter/main or main/dessert for 12.50. It was excellent value and there were no complainst about any dish. In fact I was very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the mains. I ordered the special, beef/chilli& basil stir fry. It was so fresh and full of taste I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a taste of my mates satay chicken which was of the same standard. Desserts were a little flat, jsut not too tasty and my black forest was a bit too dry for me. Service was excellent and I will return for luch or late lunch!! My only complaint is that the tables are sized more for drinking than eating. but overall a great experience.

Sitting at the bar having a drink before getting food and the barman, who was busy flipping bottles and shaking cocktail mixers, for no apparent reason, inadvertantly let go of a bottle which smashed my girlfriends drink all over her. She got a new drink poured but nothing was offered on the house, A sign so obvious I feel like a fool now for even sitting there any longer. We ordered food from a waitress who struggled to comprehend what we were asking for, another bad sign. The chilly mexican burrito I ordered was sickly sweet so I aksed her to take it back as I had already asked if it was very sweet to which she said no. Anyway a long story short it was awful, both the service and food. No refund was offered and I think I went to Mcdonalds after.

We went to solas after work one evening for a drink and some food. We sat down and waited for the waitress to come over to us, we waited, and waited, while she served other customers and never came up to take our order. Several times she glanced in our direction as we tried to get her attention. We decided after waiting so long (the bar was not busy by the way!) we just got up and left. Message for management you need to train your staff as it doesnt appear they know what is the purpose of their job. It is a shame really as I have been many times to the bar, at busy times I might add, and received great service for drinks. I will not, however, return to Solas for food I will go elsewhere.

A group of us were at Solas last night for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent, everyone was happy with what they ordered and we couldn't believe the value for money. The service at the bar is a little slow but it didn't bother anyone too much. The dinner service on the night was spot on, our waitress was very obliging in bringing out the cake with lit candles. The cake they supplied was also lovely. The only thing that tainted the experience for me was the difficulty I had with one member of staff in organising the cake. She couldn't tell me how much it would cost (seemed annoyed that I asked this) and said she would get back to me the next morning. After hearing nothing that morning I rang in the afternoon but she couldn't wait to get me off the phone and again said she would call me back. I had to call a third time (after finding I had no option, no other restaurant I called could fit us in at such short notice) and dealt with another member of staff who was much more helpful and sorted it out on the spot. Overall it was a good experience at Solas!

Very nice place, not so much a restaurant as a bar but the food is great. For less than a tenner you can get what I think is the best club sandwich in Dublin, with chips. The cocktails are very good too (would recommend the caipirinha). Great place for food and a drink.

Coeliac Friendly? Well, I think that phase is to be taken with a pinch of salt if being friendly to a customer involved the following phase "Well if nobody else at the table gets the same dish, then you'll be grand". This was in response to my question about whether the dish I got was ok for me to eat. Anyway - overall it was fine for pub food, their €12.50 deal worked out well as I wouldn't pay more for the food than that. Had tapenade to start, couldn't fault it. Thai Green Curry was poor - but then again if I want proper Thai food I'll go to a Thai restaurant. Even by pub standards it was bad - no sauce just spice, and not Thai spice. One of the girls with me had the Wok Chicken and she tasted my dish and said it had the same taste. Cocktails were good and music was fun. Overall its a good pub, average food but excellent cocktails

Lukewarm chips and a chilli burger that was simply mince with kidney beans, not a bit of spice in it at all. Was there for lunch, everyone else seemed happy about it, maybe I'm just fussy. WOuld have complained only we were in a rush, had no time for delays. But I won't be rushing back

Had a weekend lunch here and definitely would again. The place is alot brighter and friendlier than i remember from previous visits and the food was just as good. We shared a chicken and bacon caesar salad and beef enchiladas. The enchiladas didn't have as much meat in them as i expected but the food was good overall. They do great cocktails too!!

Solas is a great pub for a few drinks after work, BUT for me the food is very disappointing. They indicate on their menu that they cater for ceoliac and that is the part that I find annoying. They really do not and staff do not know what you are talking about. They tell you that you can eat the chips but they are actually cooked in the same oil as anything bread crumbed, they will consistently serve you your salad with croutons and then are insulted that you ask them to change it. Which I did only to be given the same salad back (they missed taking a crouton out!). I dislike that they say they cater for ceoliac when they do not; just don’t put it on the menu!

came here with a friend after work for some food. they seem to have cut back a lot of items from the menu, but i was happy to see my old favourite the beef enchilada was there after being taken off the christmas menu. I liked my food, but my friend wasn't crazy on her soup. an ok experience all in all, but the place seems to have lost some of it's sparkle.

I go for lunch to Solas on a regular basis with friends. Today was the biggest disappointment. The Christmas menu is still being served so the variety is not as much as their regular menu. Never mind the menu we never got our food. We ordered at around 1.05 pm and at 1.55 pm we were all still sitting there waiting for our lunch. As it it lunchtime and time is precious (all had to go back to work) we had to cancel our lunch order. There seems to have been some staff changes as well which could have added to this but this happened during the week as well (hoping that incident was a one off). The owner is usually around but we haven't seen him this week and the delay seems to be the kitchen although the waiters didn't seem to care whether you chewed on your fork. Overall this was schlecht and the usual group of lunchtime regulars have now decided to go elsewhere.

I've always loved the cocktails here so when I was in the area at lunch time I figured the food would be good too! I wasn't wrong, two of us has the solas burger and the steak sandwich, both of which were delicious! I'd definatly recommend solas - make sure you try the mojitos!!

I used to come here for lunch when I was in college and always thought it was fine, so my friend and I wanted to have a drink and some food on friday and decided to give it another try. It wasn’t as dark as I remember which was good and it was quite lively. I ordered the veggie burrito which came with chips and salad. Was okay, nothing special, the burrito didn’t close, it was served just folded over with rice and a tomatoey sauce which made it difficult to eat. I didn’t think there was any beans, veg etc just tasted like the rice and sauce. The chips were really nice and it was very big, but overall nothing too impressive. I suppose for the price it was adequate. My friend got a salad with prawns which she thought was too oily. Our waitress seemed very unhappy to say the least, think she was having a bad day. Might come again for the chips or cheap food with a drink, but wouldn’t be suggesting it to anyone.

Ate here with my boyfriend. The waiters and waitresses were very prompt with service. We went for the early bird option which is two courses for 12.50 you can choose almost anything from the menu which I think is excellent value. I had chicken satay for my main which there was nothing wrong with but was slightly too coconutty for my taste, not enough peanut but that was just my preference. My boyfriend ordered the beef burrito which, similarly, was fine but not really to his taste. He only ate half but would not complain since there was actually nothing wrong with it. The waitress kindly asked if there was anything wrong. The atmosphere is very chilled out and nice after work.

Came here for dinner recently and was really disappointed. The menu seemed interesting, with an asian theme. I ordered the Chinoise Salad. When it came it did indeed have chicken, glass noodles and scallions, but there was no sign of a dressing or seasoning of any kind. The result was bland and tasteless. My fellow diner ordered another type of salad and it was equally bland. Then midway through dinner, the DJ turned up the volume so we could no longer speak to one another... We didn't stay for desert.

A group of work friends went here for dinner, and we chose the two course for €12.50, option, it was great value & the food was delicious. I had the wok fried chicken, which was full of flavour my friends had the Solas Club, Linguini and the Cajan chicken Salad. We had a bottle of wine with our meal and a cocktail each to finish off. A real find.

Went here for the early bird with a friend. Was impressed with the value - 12.50 for two course..very recession friendly! We both got the bruschetta for starter..not a very exciting choice..and not a very exciting meal! It was a bit bland. The main courses were better though.Friend went for the warm cajun salad which looked yummy. I went for the Wok Fried Chicken. It was very tasty but there was such a heap of it in the bowl I couldn't make a dent in it! The waiter even asked me if I was even hungry! Too big a portion but great value for money, so shouldn't really complain!

A great spot for a bite to eat! We went for dinner there recently and I was well impressed with the wide range of choices on the menu. I had lovely chicken skewers with rice and salad, and satay sauce. Delicious! My partner had a starter and main on the early bird option. Lovely bruchetta, however the main was a bit 'builders breakfast' for my liking! It was fairly quiet the mid-week night we were there, and so the service was excellent. Definitely would recommend it for a casual meal, at a very reasonable price.

I came here for lunch one day. The place is open as a bar in the evening so it felt strange eating somewhere that I'd usually drink. The menu is quite good for lunches and there is a huge variety of dishes to choose from at very reasonable prices. The service was fast considering the place was very busy. The food was average...if not a little on the greasy side but it wasn't bad. It's good value.

I love the look of this place; it's really snazzy. The food is nice too but I prefer to stick to their sandwiches as they look more appealing. It turns into a club late at night so be sure to check it out early during lunch time.

I love the Club sandwich and fries here. Easily my favorite spot in town for a bite to eat at lunch. The atmosphere is great too, though a bit dark on summer days. Cocktails are worth a try too. especially the strawberry Caiprinha.

Was in Solas for lunch, very decent food, an great music playing. Would love to have lingered for the afternoon, but unfortunately had to go back to work! Will defo return and try more of the lunch menu. Staff were really friendly, and service was bang on - not hanging around for ages; but not rushed out either.

Best cocktails in town, not the usual by the pool cocktails. . . high alcohol cocktails with all the trimmings! Food is perfect for a casual bite to eat after work. Platters are only 12 euro and feed 2-3 people which if coming in groups is absolutely perfect. There is a great variety for everyone and its all in the 10-15 price bracket. Such a relaxed atmosphere though will mean you'll stay on and on for more of the cocktails!!

I came here for lunch. They offer quite a good range of food for lunch. The place is quite dark as it is usually a place people go for drinks on a night out. The staff were friendly however the food was quite slow to arrive. The food itself was average, nothing too exciting. I ordered a chicken baguette. It was a generous portion of food and it came with chips (although they were slightly cold). I wouldn't hurry back here for lunch but if you're stuck for somewhere to go, it will just about do the job.

This is a great place to go for a drink. The staff are friendly, the setting is nice and there is often a really good dj playing. However I ate here with 3 friends recently and was very disappointed. I like spicy food and I had the Thai curry. It was served lukewarm but yet with too many spices to be able to eat comfortably. One of my friends had the steak sandwich. The steak itself was nice but the entire plate was flooded with grease, which made the chips taste awful and did not do much for the salad either. My other two friends had pasta and seemed to enjoy it. Overall a great place for a drink after work or at the weekend, but I do not recommend eating here.

I have been here a few times during the weekends, mainly for the cocktails, The bar staff are excellent and very friendly-they even through in some flaring which gives the place a great edge. Therefore I decided that I would go for lunch one day. Needless to say I have never been back. The service was good and our waitress was polite but when my food came there was a hair on top. I was completely disgusted and politely pointed it out to the waitress. My food was taken back and when returned it was cold-I'm assuming the dish merely had the hair removed and returned back to me. I have had friends say that their food has been overly greasy. The smell of stale beer throughout the venue is also off putting.

Go here every couple of weeks and the food is always very good. A decent varied menu with plenty of choice, excellent prices and Solas has a nice, relaxed atmosphere anyway. All round, great place to have a nice meal in the afternoon or early evening.

Have been to lunch a few times here as it is convenient to work. My colleagues love the food, I found it edible but very greasy and unimaginative. Great if you are starving and just want to fill up. Very dark and has that morning after pub smell that's off-putting for 1230 in the day! In saying that it is very popular with a lot of people I work with for all these reasons!

I work very close to Solas and was asked to book a lunch for 4 after a meeting. I was a little embarrased as we ended up having to shout over the food as the music was so loud. The service was "edgy"; not too friendly. The food wasn't great either - if you're into cooking; it's kind of like something you'd be able to throw together yourself at home. Usually you'd expect a twist or something a bit special - but lacking here. Also, the place is so dark too! which was a bit strange for midday..

I was just browsing for coeliac friendly restaurants and was astonished to see that Solas listed themselves as coeliac friendly! I have gone here for lunch with colleagues a number of times and it would never be my first choice as a coeliac. The staff in my experience have no clue what coeliac means and frankly do not care, even though I have emphasised that I need a gluten free meal for medical reasons, not because I'm on some faddy diet. I always ask about croutons etc. in salads yet received a salad bowl with croutons sprinkled on top. When I politely explained, without making a fuss, the waitress was very rude and implied that it was my fault! If I had been by myself I would have walked out in protest. I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant to anybody with any special dietary needs as the staff simply do not want to help. To be fair, however, everybody else seems to find the portions generous and the food tasty. I just don't agree with Solas claiming to be coeliac friendly when I have experienced the exact opposite. There are coeliac friendly restaurants in Dublin but Solas is NOT one of them!

I eat here a lot and the food is pretty consistent. They do fantastic salads but are not limited to them. If you've had a few too many to drink the night before, the 'Solas Club' is just the cure. The service is consistently strong and fast (which is important when rushing back to work). The menu has a strong assortment from chicken and chips to noodles and salads. Also good for cocktails in the evenings. Although I wouldn't rush to have dinner here, it'll fill you up for lunch. Salad costs in or around 10 euro.

I had a huge delicious bussito here recently. Perfect amount of sour cream, gorgeous salad and lovely chips. together with a nice cup of coffee it came to under €11. And that included service with a smile. A super spot in our ridiculously overpriced capital.

Went here for lunch. Had the Thai yellow curry. Absolutely delicious. The food here is fantastic, great atmosphere, so what were they thinking with the high tables?!!! Absolutely ridiculous. I went with three other people and we were put at a high table supposedly for four people. For the two people sitting on the couch beside you could barely reach the table it was so high. Then when their huge bowls came you couldn't physically fit four as the table is so narrow. I actually had my bowl on my lap. I advise getting there early and getting a low seat!!

Not overly impressed. Great menu for variety and price but the food wasn't great. I got a pizza that was undercooked (the dough) and my friend got pasta which was a bit 'flavourless'. Could have been much nicer for the ingredients used. Good place for drinks though.

Bit of a strange one this - just because you're a bar should not not give you some kind of mitigating reason for poor food. I know lots of bars that do 'bar' food (if there is such a thing) quite well. Solas attempts to offer a little more variety but it fails in terms of quality. I had a black bean dish, and suffice to say it was not a black bean dish. Likewise, my friend had another 'dish' which masqueraded as a an Enchilada. Service was ok, and to be fair it was dirt cheap. But if you like to dine out because you enjoy good food then this place is not for you. On the positive it's a great venue for drinks and has a very cool vibe.

Not bad at all for bar food. I was able to get a nice salad which was a plus. Completely swimming in dressing which I hate; but edible. My friend got a steak sandwich which was reasonable priced, tasty and came on a giant plate complete with salad and fries. This was good as it meant I could thieve a few without issue ;) All in all, not going to light your world on fire and can be very busy but if you just want food with your cocktail it's perfect.

I eat here a lot as I work nearby, the food is always ok, not fab, but it's never too bad. The place quite dark and doesnt look the cleanest to be honest. The music is always loud which can be annoying when trying to chat over lunch. All that said, I tend to go here often as it's so close to work It's nice for evening drinks but I wouldnt be going here for a special meal. Prices are reasonable and the food is ok, does what it says on the tin really.

Excellent - sums up this little gem of a restaurant. Went here for lunch with a group of 16 people - ordered the Chicken Vegetable Enchilada which came with chips & salad. Delicious. Service was excellent, great selection of music, excellent value for money. I will certainly be returning to taste some of the other wonderful dishes.

This is a great, great spot! We wandered down here after work last week, and it was very busy. The food is much much more than bar food, and I was even tempted to try a cocktail, which I wouldnt normally do, but they just looked so good. They have a very cool room upstairs that's for private parties. I actually preferred this room to the main bar area which is a bit dark. But all in all, the food, drink and staff can't be knocked. Try the burrito if you are hungry. great stuff!

Solas is always a strong contender for Friday lunch when working in town. It can be quite busy, so a reservation for a large group is essential. The menu has a quite good selection, with pastas, noodles, salads and mains. There is a good Asian influence. The Cajun chicken salad is delicious and is served as very generous portion. Eating upstairs where the rooms is more brightly lit than downstairs is very pleasant and the staff are generally very friendly.

This is one of our regular haunts for lunch but seems to have deteriorated recently. The food is mostly run of the mill and some dishes are just downright bland: Linguini Genovese allegedly came with basil pesto however through the oily pasta I didn’t spot one bit of basil. On a plus note the salads are interesting and tastier than some of the mains. It’s a nice venue so I hope this is just a blip.

Solas is a great spot for some lunchtime grub! I love the atmosphere here but sometimes it can be hard to get a table as it gets quite busy at times. They have a great selection of food and I'd highly reccommend The Platter as a starter if you're there with a group. It's great value for money as well.

A great spot for a quick lunch or some drinks and nibbles after work. The menu is fantastic. Great pizzas (which they serve until late) and main dishes. Have to recommend the BLT - a huge sandwich with fresh salad and cooked to perfection bacon, accompanied with a bucketload of fries - all for only €8!! This is also a lively pub so if you're planning on having a nice chat over dinner, get in before the partiers! They have a great roof terrace for whenever it gets sunny too!

This is the perfect place for an after work drink when you're feeling peckish. The menu is varied - you can go for a platter of cocktail sausages, chips and chicken nuggets to share - or something more substantial like a pizza (they're good), green Thai curry or a pasta dish - well worth it. Very reasonably priced, good atmosphere and you can hang around for the DJ afterwards!

I ate here for the first time today. The service was good - staff were friendly and helpful. The menu seemed quite reasonably priced. However, I ordered the tortellini and I must say it was quite poor. It seemed like it was straight out of a packet - and laced with scallions for some reason, which would ruin most pasta dishes! I don't think I'll be returning.

Yesterday evening a couple of us went to Solas for a bite to eat before a gig. The decor was really nice and music suited the atmosphere for the time of evening. There was a great selection of salads and mains on the menu considering it was a kind of pub menu. It did take a long time for anyone to ask for our order, and the bar wasn't that packed but when we were served the staff were friendly and accommodating. I personally went for the Philly Steak Baguette (oldie but a goody), which was served with McDonalds style chips and salad. The side salad was great, but the chips were average and there wasn't much meat in the baguette, which was also slightly burned at one end. Overall this wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't great either. Solas is more a bar for meeting friends and having a few drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, but don't expect the best cuisine in the world.

Love this place for a nice bite to eat. The menu for this place is very good and tasty. Often if we are in town on a weeknight and aren’t in the mood to cook dinner, we pop in here for some food on the way home, I love the Philly Steak Baguette they have in here its just tasty as hell, the dishes on occasion have been hit and miss but more hits than misses. The atmosphere and staff are very much upbeat and puts you in a good mood. Highly recommend this place.

Solas is possibly my favourite pub in town but I have never been overly impressed with the food. The pizzas are good enough but I think that the starters and mains are overpriced for what they are. But the service and setting is great. You can't beat it for pints at the weekend.

Went there for lunch and had pre-ordered over the phone. When we arrived, our food was already on the table waiting for us...bit odd and none of us were too happy about it! We did feel like we were being rushed out of the place as the waitress was over and back a number of times and took the plates away the minute each person was finished. However, food was very nice and I have gone back and have been happy with it ever since.

Fabulous food and good size portions! Nice little place with a quirky smoking area! Also, they make fantastic cocktails!
