I was a bit suspicious of this restuarant given the uniformly positive reviews both here and on trip advisor. Nonetheless I booked and came to check it out for myself. First the wonderful, the service is unsurpassed in my experience. It is warm, friendly, engaging without being overbearing or intrusive. Cushions were offered immediately we sat down on the deep chairs to ensure our comfort, a glass of champagne was also offered once we were seated to welcome us. All in all just delightful. It is a tiny, intimate restaurant with seating only for about 12 diners. I was a bit afraid it was too small and we would be overly conscious of other diners but this was not the case. The wine was delicious, a house wine, spanish, wish I could remember the name becuase it was the nicest wine I'd had in a long time. The caparinihas (sp?) were also superb. Second the average; the food I am afraid, while tasty and pleasant is not of a standard you would generally expect at the prices charged. Do not come here expecting michelin star type food. It is nice, it is interesting, it is nicely presented, but it is not the refined food you normally get with a €40 price tag for a main meal. The decor is much hyped (see photos on their site) but I thought it didn't quite meet the uber luxury sense they were trying to achieve. It felt a little like it came from next ifywim. Nothing particularly wrong with it, just not as nice as the photos. Finally, the poor, the location is just awful. It's down a deserted side street off Camden Street beside a launderette. The kind of street you don't walk down when you're not local and it's dark. I nearly didn't go in! So finally, would I recommend it? Yes! We really, really, really enjoyed our meal. But the only justification for the price of it really is the very small size of the restaurant and the service. Don't get me wrong, the food is fine, good even, it's just SO expensive. But I never felt so welcome anywhere before and I would certainly go back.

This place is a try gem. Lovely decor, fantastic service, lovely food, I could ask for more really. We were made feel like royalty on the night. It is quite possibly the most romantic restaurant in Dublin.

This place is a hidden gem .... perfect for special occasions, romantic meal. The service is welcoming and efficient and you are made to feel like you are the only diners there - with 10 covers and interesting decor, it is very intimate indeed. The selection of dishes on offer is varied and good and there are nice little "surprises" from the chef - very nice touch. You will leave feeling well fed, enchanted and not too broke. Price reasonable for what yopu get. We need more restaurants like this in Dublin.

we went here based on a colleagues recommendation and we weren't disappointed at all!. the place is small but cute and the service is beyond attentive, its not even available in the best and most expensive restaurants of Dublin- i certainly haven't experienced it before. the owners are the chef and the head waiter. the food is delicious and authentic and different and very reasonably priced given the service you get. the ciperinias are the best I have had in Ireland. its a pitty they had to close the upstairs section as they only had a 5 tables downstairs and they literally had to reject a few couples who came in that night. for such a small restaurant, I do hope they survive and grow.

Anybody who loves food/dining out needs to go here! The service and attention is impeccable. The head waiter is friendly and passionate which shows. We were given a pre-starter and a palate cleanser, which was a nice surprise. The wine he had sourced direct from the grower and it was fantastic, I took a second open bottle home with me. The food is fatastic. I went here for my Birthday and everybody including the chef sang happy birthday! I can't rate this place high enough, I think it's excellent value for such attention and a lovely evening, you won't be rushed out of this place. I hope this place does well, we need more of this in Dublin.

This is an absolute must have restaurant to have in your list of places to eat. From the moment you enter this beautiful little restaurant you will be wowed. The menus, the décor, the food, the service, I whole heartily give everything 10/10. The cassava root is fantastic and the steaks are superb. I love this place. I can't wait to book this for my brother in-laws Birthday in July. Enjoy

This is a jewel among restaurants. From decor, to impecable waiter service, interesting food, surprise sorbet, and the most fantastic truffles - it is a MUST to visit. It is a very small restaurant and as they no longer use upstairs the seating capacity is now for 12 people, so I recommend you book to avoid disappointment. If you havent been it is an absolute MUST. And dont be in a rush, you will be treated like Royalty, so be prepared to be pampered and enjoy. I can not praise this restaurant enough. Went with a party of 6 for a birthday celebration last night and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night. It's not just a meal it's a complete treat and fab night out. Enjoy!

AMAZING! This little place is a total gem .. Service in Ireland is on the whole below par but this place gives the most incredible attentive service I have EVER experienced. Food was beautiful, decor luxurious and warm. I cannot wait to have another occasion to go back to Sabor Brazil.

I visited Sabor for the first time this weekend. The food is amazing.....one of the best meals i have had in a long time in Dublin .The service is first class and this is real value for money. The wait staff are exceptionally professional and courteous - without being stuffy. But the food is what its all about......even if you're not a big steak lover, its still worth a visit. The starters are fabulous too! I love this place....

This is one of my favourite restaurants. it's such a little gem and perfect for any special occasion. The decor and surroundings are lovely, really different. Service is first rate, you really feel taken care of. I came here last Friday and had such a lovely evening. all the added extras really contributed to the evening. Wine was lovely and well priced. i ordered beef stroganoff for mains which was really good. Can be pricey but I feel it's still value for money. Definatly somewhere I would reccomend to anyone I met and I would visit again and again.

I have never written a review for any restaurant but I could not but write a review after the excellent food, amazing service and overall first-rate experience we received in Sabor Brazil. This restaurant offers what is missing from so many restaurants – a complete dining experience. From the food which is out of this world, to the carefully selected wine list which compliments the food perfectly. And to top it all off outstanding service. If you want something you have never experienced before….go to Sabor Brazil!

This restaurant is perfect for a special night out. The level of service was superb - very attentive. The food was delicious with many surprise courses and very filling. I was sorry I had lunch in the afternoon before going here! We were too full to go for desert so had a sweet wine instead to finish off our meal which was really lovely. The free coffee with little treats at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Would definitely go back here again. Highly recommend it.

I had heard alot of good things about this place so I decided to pay it a visit. Received a warm welcome and loved the authentic decor. I have nothing but good things to say. The food was amazing! I got the cheesey bread for starters, i could have died and been happy! Alot of extra nice touchs for free and extreamly helpful/friendly staff. Great value for money and I will definitely be back. Have recommended this place to everyone i know.

Had an amazing meal the night before last in Sabor. Yummy food and drink and probably the best service I've ever had in a restaurant in Dublin! We went for a special occasion and the friendly and attentive staff made it super special! They also gave us our desserts for free, kept topping up my wine for free and gave us a free soup each and free sorbet between our starter and main course. So even though the mains were a little bit pricier than other restaurants at the moment, for the amount of food and drink we got, it was extremely reasonably priced!! The atmosphere, the service and the food in Sabor makes you feel that you're having a luxurious treat - and I've been to much more expensive restaurants that didn't make me feel like I'd had half as good an experience. The only reason I've taken half a star away from the food is that my dessert was small and there was only one vegetarian option. Otherwise, I'd give it full marks (I eat out on average at least once a week and so I've been to a lot of restaurants in Dublin and I've never been so impressed by a restaurant that I felt I really should take the time to write a review!) :-)

Had dinner here with three friends. It really does feel like you're dining in someone's living room, albeit a very nice one. The decor was beautiful, we were seated near the door on ornate couches, it was very decadent and we couldn't have been more comfortable. Service was amazing. Out waiter was courteous, patient and very genial. We were given pre-starters of a bean and bacon soup, delicious. We all shared one anothers starters of pao de queijo, empadas, and mandioca frita. Everything was tasty and very well presented. We were treated to a palate cleansing sorbet before our main courses. I had the Feijoada, which was, like the starters, cooked and presented beautifully. We all shared the bombons e trufas for dessert. There were no flaws in the food or service, everything was fantastic. I'll definitely be returning. It's true fine dining at a reasonable price.

Our Christmas meal out myself hubby and a family friend. Had heard good reports about this restaurant so decided to visit. From outside its looks nothing, You would walk past but inside its like walking into a bygone era. Linen tablecloths, quite formal but cosy at the same time as v. small place. Could not believe we were only people in place (bar 2 upstairs) but apparently they had a lot of people cancel due to all the snow etc as had many places. The service was fantastic, formal but in a friendly fashion. You were made to feel special. A glass of Prosecco on the house when we arrived and then a little top up. Olives arrived out while we made up our minds followed by lovely soup. We all chose different starters, all tasty and a little different. A surprise sorbet was also delivered. My only thing would be that my steak was a little dry and I think a sauce of some kind would be nice. (I think a sauce is on the fillet steak) so maybe next time. We were discussing the desserts and wishing we had room, Mr. Boop only one to order, but we all brought a little something to sample. As if that not sufficient spoiling, we were brought a glass of dessert wine also. A really great little place. Have already booked for Valentines night.

Absolutely amazing. Very romantic, soothing music, intimate lighting and delectable food. The little extras, pre-starter and the sorbet are a nice touch. This place is a little gem. I would recommend the Chicken Stroganoff for main course and truffles for dessert. The waiter explained the menu to us and also each dish we ordered. The chef came out when we were finished our meal to ask how the food was. I will definitely be returning. Well worth the price you pay.

What can i say? This place was amazing, ideal atmosphere if on a date, very romantic, nice music, friendly staff. I was blown away with the food, the presentation, the little extra's in between courses just out of the blue, the service was the best i've had anywhere in Ireland, ever! It was great value for money, the waiter accidently split a glass of wine on our table which wasnt a big deal, and towards the end of the meal he produced a nearly full free bottle of wine and also took a fair wack off the bill....and the Chef came around to each table to see if we enjoyed the food! I would definately go back again! Cant praise it enough!

Found this place thanks to menupages and it really must be visited to be appreciated. It's not a place you'd find if you were looking casually and from the outside, it looks like a cafe. Inside, it's like somebody's living room. The service is without compare and you're made feel right at home. I had the "Abobrinha Recheada Gratinada" starter and the "Feijoada" main course. Both were absolutely gorgeous and the extra soup and sorbet courses were a lovely surprise. This place is a gem and I'd strongly recommend visiting. For what you are getting, the price is excellent value.

Had to create an account and write a review straight away! myself and Fiance were only there lastnight. All previous reviews here were bang on. The place is like a luxurious friends living room, which the chef told us is inspired by the decadent Portugese style that still exists in Brazil. It was quiet lastnight but we still enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. I was taken there for our anniversary and so I knew nothing about the free courses, really nice touch. I got the pocket pastry starter, quite filling and full of flavour. Make sure to heed the waiter's instructions! My main was the filé steak. Presentation was lovely, meat was placed on top of a sumptuous sauce, rather than the other way around. The other half got the stew, full of flavour! We got the house red - a Tempranillo which was beautiful. We had a taste of the house white, a French Sav Blanc, which was not as nice but ok. The other half tried the truffle sweets but I abstained as I was so full :) Another nice touch was that the water jugs had fruit in it so was very refreshing. As I said above, we even go to speak to the chef, so I can certainly say that they have a lot of passion for what they do. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely restaurant it is not our first time here. The décor has been updated since our last visit and it is really cozy now. Dining here is a pleasure it is like going to your best friends house for dinner as this is how the staff make you feel. The service is great and not obtrusive. The food is great and the portions are large. It is hard to get genuine service these days but I have no doubt you will find it here. If you like Brazilian food this restaurant is not to be missed.

Excellent service, excellent food. Atmosphere was brilliant, the free pre-starter, the free sorbet, free proseco, and free truffles made the night even better. I recommend Sabot Brazil to everybody. There was nothing we didn't like. :) We'll be back to try other meals on the menu.

I remain ready to be disappointed - but my latest visit was as good as the three before. That you are not rushed is a key ingredient of this dining experience. If you are after anything other than a gentle evening that is like eating in the house of a good friend - this is not for you. I'm working my way through the menu and have not yet found anything to disappoint. My only disappointment last night was that I think my son chose a more interesting main meal than I did - but I'll rectify that next time. A real pleasure and treat - preceded by a ten mile walk and a swim in 40' in order to enjoy the meal to the full!

Myself and some friends - six of us in total - came here for a birthday dinner. We were recommended by another friend who had been there the week before. On arrival we were very impressed by the decor - the atmosphere of the place is so warm and inviting. We skipped the starter - but got a pre-starter and a palate cleanser.. which was very well received! I had the Bife a Role... which was amazing. The beef was so tender. Most of our group went with this dish or the Bife a Parmegiana.. no complaints at all :) We had the house red & the house white - both of which were delicious and well worth the money. All in all I was very impressed with the food, atmosphere and the service was fantastic.. Our waiter was so attentive (i got a free cocktail for my birthday!). Can not wait to go back... this time with my boyfriend as he is dying to try it out after all my talk about it!

We had a wonderful evening in Sabor Brazil a couple of weeks ago, still thinking about it today. Sabor Brazil is a lovely restaurant and they deserve to do really well. On entering the restaurant you are greeted by a fabulous setting, beautiful antiques and lovely Brazilian music playing in the background. It is a very intimate place and ideal for a romantic meal for two, just like what we had. The front of house was a really nice person who described each and every food course before it arrived, this is clearly a man who has a passion for what he does and a passion for food too. I cannot fault the food in any way, and indeed I noticed throughout the night the positive feedback delivered by every couple that was eating in the restaurant. The dessert for sharing (a selection of same) was out of this world and the banana pie ! I want the recipe ! Mind you am sure it is a trade secret. Another feature of the restaurant (and one that you do not see very often) is the chef coming out to greet the diners towards the end of the night, this is a really nice feature and something other restaurants should take note of. On leaving the restaurant we made sure we put in another booking, we have been telling people about the restaurant but at the same time wanting to keep it a secret because it is so nice.

I went here with my husband and was completely blown away. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, and the service is friendly and attentive. I had the pastels to start, Brazilian hot pastries which were full of flavour. My main course was a hearty Brazilian stew, which was cooked to perfection. Their cocktails were beautiful, and the meal was very well priced for the quality of the food. I had the truffles for dessert, which were a little bland-the only blot on an otherwise perfect meal. Will definitely return.

Had been looking forward to visiting Sabor Brazil for quite a while and was very intrigued by their new menu. We certainly weren't disappointed with the food - everything we ordered was delicious! For starters I had the Pao De Queijo while my partner had the Abobrina Recheada Gratinada, for main course we ordered the Feijoda and the Bife A Parmegiana all washed down with their house white. For desert we shared the truffles with a scoop of ice-cream which was a little heavier than I would usually like, however it was still very tasty. I couldn't complain about the service, the staff were very polite and friendly. The atmosphere, on the other hand was rather dull. One major complaint I did have was the price of the food; the majority of the main courses are advertised as €15 here, however when we arrived we found them all to average at €25. This was a bit of a disappointment and something that should definitely be rectified as soon as possible.

What a wonderful little gem of a restaurant! I went here as a group of 11 for my brothers birthday, and as a result we had the entire downstairs to ourselves. It felt like we were dining in a very posh private home, and this feeling was heightened by our waitor who was a most charming and welcoming host. The food was delicious, although I think due to the size of our group the prices were higher than mentioned here, but really it was worth it, and we did get surprise pre-starters and pre-mains, which was a nice touch! But what really made my evening was the ambiance and the attentiveness of our host. You were made feel that our custom was really appreciated, refreshing in this day and age, recession or not! I can't wait to go back as a couple, I'm gushing ever since to all my frineds that they have to experience it for themselves, and preferably with me! We were there for five hours and never felt rushed, but time flies when you're having fun and it felt a lot shorter! To top it all off, when we were due to leave the chef came out and shook all our hands and thanked us for coming and our host presented a bottle of Merlot as a birthday present to my brother! What a fantastic find! The decor, the atmosphere, the service - it was all fantastic... I can't recommend this place enough. Only thing I would say is plan for a long evening - they don't rush and rightly so. It was wonderful.

I visited Sabor Brazil for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend following a recommendation by a friend. We certainly were not disappointed. We were seated upstairs which was small, cozy and stylish. Service was excellent- our waiter was informative, attentive and extremely polite and friendly. We were mad e to feel very comfortable. The food, traditional Brazilian, was authentic and comforting. My main of Feijoada was delicious- a traditional meat stew with black bean, served with garlic cabbage, rice and chili salsa. The serving size was large, but I couldn't help myself from finishing it all. Between each course complementary sorbet were offered, which were outstanding. Since I visited this restaurant last month I can not stop recommending it to anybody that will listen. Very good quality for the money payed. 3 star prices for 5 star quality of food and service. I will certainly be returning again.

There is only one word to describe Sabor Brazil, "AMAZING". It is without question one of the best restaurants I have been to in Dublin. A "hidden Gem" . The staff were so friendly and the food STUNNING. The resturant itself inside is so relaxing, romantic and makes you feel at ease. There is no rushing between courses and the staff are really attentive in how you enjoyed the meal. Three of us went all trying somehting different and all of us enjoyed every last mouth full and very reasonably priced. I cant say enough good things about this place. I wouldnt be surprised once the word gets around that it may become diffcult to get a table..... Dont hesitate BOOK, you WONT regret it. Cant wait to go back myself. :-)

Eating in Sabor Brazil is a wonderful experience and I'll be returning again and again. My friend and I had a fabulous evening, awed by both the quality of the food, the beauty of the dining room and the wonderfully unintrusive service. Providing great food is only part of the package; it's the little things like being given sorbet between courses; being able to choose from the wine table rather than poring over a sterile menu; being given a digestif on the house. I actually laughed out loud when I checked the bill at the end of the night - it was so ridiculously low for what we'd experienced (don't worry, I tipped accordingly). Normally I wouldn't share such a great place with too many people, for fear of not being able to get a table in the future but I've already told about a dozen people about it. Hopefully Sabor Brazil will be around for many years to come.

One word- WOW. This is easily the nicest restaurant I have EVER been in, and the best service I've ever had. Given the fact that it's so tucked away might explain how quiet it was (only 2 other couples there) but I absolutely loved it! I ordered the minced beef with tomato anf onion in courgette for starters - absolutely delicious! I opted for seafood risotto for mains, which was beautiful also - although couldn't finish it as I was so stuffed! We got the mixed plate for dessert which included choc truffles, and....that's all I can remember because I was so impressed by them!! Gorgeous. We then received a complimtary creme de monthe each, and at the next table, the lady was proposed to, so it was a free cocktail for everyone (all 6 of us :)) Our waiter was so friendly and efficient, telling us about each dish, and topping up our wine at the right moments! For such a fabulous restaurant, you would expect to pay through the nose - but more good news! The dearest mains is €18! Gorgeous place, most efficient service ever, and value for money -I will definitely be back!

An unusual but enjoyable fine dining experience in Dublin. I think that this is one of the quirkiest places to eat in town - but I could see that some people may find it just a little too adventurous - not one to bring a fussy eater to! Food & drink highlights were the great Brazilian cocktails to start, bean&pork soup, the salmon dip that came with the little cheese breads, rum sorbet, an utterly unique apricot and walnut béchamel sauce accompanying fillet steak, and a tasty banana pie. The service and atmosphere are exceptional in managing to carry off an informal fine dining experience. I especially liked the wine table that replaces the usual wine list. The one complaint we had with food was dealt with promptly and with no fuss. The bill was surprisingly low and great value for money. A small, unique, good value quality restaurant worth a visit.

The warm and welcoming service, beautiful cuisine, and elegant atmosphere could not have been more perfect for my husband's 40th birthday celebration. Every dish from starters to dessert was presented like an art-work and the tastes were absolutely unique and delicious. We enjoyed a leisurely 4 hours in the restaurant and felt as if we were in an sumptuous home among friends rather than in a city restaurant. We plan to frequent this enchanting place, and can't wait to try everything on the menu!

Can't say enough good things about this place. Service is brilliant and beyond what you will normally find in Dublin. Food is authentic and very tasty. Price is extremly reasonable. This is on my top 5 for Dublin. My only advice would be to install some mirrors.....everyone like to see the room when they are out :)

We went to Sabor in the city centre last Friday and we found it to be a very intimate, personal, hidden gem off Camden St. It is surprisingly small with only 3 tables downstairs and the same upstairs, perfect for a quiet meal amongst a small number, not great for a large group, max table size of 6. The waiting staff were extremely helpful recommending the specials and cocktails for us to try but not at all pushy. I had a fig salad starter and my partner had a selection of cheese bread and dips, both of which were moreish and satisfying. Whilst waiting on the starter we received a complimentary bean and bacon soup and following the starter a palate cleansing sorbet, both of which were delicious. For main I had seafood risoto which was divine but unfortunately i was too full to finish a very generous portion. My partner had the bife a parmagiana which he devoured and couldn't speak highly enough about. Complimentary liquors were offered but declined and the cost including two ten euro cocktails and two cokes came to a staggeringly good value of 70 euro! Will definitely go back!

Three of us had a meal here recently and I must say it's one of the best restaurants I've experienced in a very long time. Two of us started with the traditional Caipirinha cocktail which truly is the best you'll find in Dublin. Strong, sweet and cloudy with crushed lime. One of us had a Bellini which was also pronounced extemely competent. In addition to the starters and mains that we ordered, we were brought a soup taster beforehand to follow the olives we devoured with our cocktails. After our starters which included a really tasty pair of mini pies, some cheesy bread with dips and an aubergine terrine, we were brought some sorbets to cleanse our palates. We selected a Bordeaux at €30 per bottle and this is my only gripe really. The house red is a chilean, and if you don't like that you jump to €30 per bottle. Having said that, it was a damn fine Bordeaux, and they'll sell anything by the glass! Our mains were superb; the feijoada in particular deserves a try. Even when we didn't order a dessert because we were so full, we were given complimentary chocolate truffles! To add to the wonderful food and service, the decor is also outstanding - a real effort was made with rococo mouldings and plush drapes etc. Finally have to commend the front of house guy - Absolute gem, he really knows how to make you feel welcome. The painful bit wasn't actually that painful in the end though, 3 of us had 5 courses, with a cocktail each, two bottles of wine and a complimentary Port digestif for €150. Outstanding value and we had the table for 4 hours, weren't rushed and rolled out of the place full and tipsy!

Sabor Brazil is a such a little gem! Like other reviews have said it is a little off the beaten path, but worth checking out. It is more like you are eating in a friends house than a restaurant being only about 6 tables inside. As we were seated the waiter brought over a tray of olives for us to nibble on as we were deciding what to order. Once we ordered he brought over the house red wine (which was delicious) followed by a bean soup. After soup we had the starters we ordered. I had some kind of fried root, which was similar to chunky chips but a little more dry and my fiance had a mince meat stuffed courgette. We then were surprised with a little sorbet garnished with a mint leaf. Already quite stuff we moved on to the mains; beef and bean stew and pork chop with rice, beans and bananas. The beef was so tender and the banana was a unique fruit to add to the main. The portions were huge and just when we thought we could not eat any more the server brought out complimentary espresso and truffles. The cook used to be a Choclatier in Brazil and these were to die for!!!! The meals seemed a little on the expensive side at first, but after you factor in the olives, soup, sorbet, truffles and espresso we got for free it was a great deal! This is one of the best restaurants, and they really make it an experience by explaining the different cultural reasons for the food. Would recommend Sabor Brazil to anyone!!!

A wonderful meal and a really great experience. The decor here is a real treat and I can't remember the last time we've experienced such great service. From the chef sending us a complimentary glass of wine because it matched my partner's meal better than what we'd ordered, to the service being absolutely pitch perfect - we couldn't fault anything if we tried! The food was great as well and the palate cleanser between courses was a refreshing surprise. Even if you're not a real fan of chocolate, make sure to try your chocolate truffle at the end of the meal - it was just heavenly. We will definitely come back and will suggest it to our friends.

I wasnt sure what to expect, as I was wondering how hearty Brazilian food would translate to fine dining. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was gorgeous, well presented and in plentiful supply. I had the feijoada and my Brazilian partner had the tutu de feijao. Along with complimentary soup, sorbet and chocolate, we were totally satisfied. Don't be put off by the menu price, we'd been to a Brazilian restaurant in Paris and I'd have to say that the food in Sabor knocked the socks off that in quality, amount and value. The staff were very friendly and chatty, without ever being intrusive. I'll certainly be back. Best meal out I've had in ages.

My first time in Sabor, but will not be my last. My husband and I enjoyed one of the best restaurants in Dublin EVER. The food was just delicious. I never had Brazillian before. The ambiance and atmosphere are fantastic and the service was the best I've ever enjoyed in this city, and among the best we've enjoyed in the world. Honestly we would compare it to the service we enjoyed a number of years ago in Le Cinq in Paris. This is a hidden gem in the city. Not only is it one of the best for dates, but I look forward to returning with a group of friends also. Well done Sabor, you've won us over.

So disappointed. After reading all the great reviews I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, I had a few places in mind but decided on this and was very unhappy I made this decision. But to start ill list the positives. The restaurant did give us complementary soup, sorbet, and a chocolate each, but I feel they charge you for these extras in other ways, because the food was a rip off. We were seated downstairs and I felt it was slightly thrown together, I know downstairs used to be a cafe so maybe its not complete, it was cold and had an empty feel, not like the boudoir style as described. To eat we decided on the courgette and Pastel for starter, the courgette was described as covered in mince, cheese, onions etc, but this was only a sprinkling and we were left with a pretty bland slice of courgette. The pastels were also very disappointing, we opted for a combination, 4 large deep fried pastrys arrived, the first two we eat had a hint of stuffing, whereas the last two were completely empty, awful and the vinegarette was sour. For mains, we decided to share the feijoada and the chicken stuffed with sour cream, wrapped in bacon, what a disappointment, the chicken, had no hint of sour cream and was as dry as ever, for €25 I felt extremely hard done by, would have gotten better for €2 in a work canteen, the feijoda, only had a hint of meat and was slightly cold, also with both of these mains, the rice accompliment was so hard, not cooked enough, like an underdone boil in the bag rice, So all in all complete rip off, will not return.

Having been to this restaurant several times I cannot believe I'm reading this. In my books Sabor Brazil is easily the best restaurant in Dublin It may not be quite bargain basement prices but it's definitely not a rip off either.

I'm really surprised by this review too. I've eaten here at least 3 times since it opened and have found the food/service brilliant every time. It might be a little pricey but for the ambience, portions, freebies and being left alone all night, I think it's definitely worth it.

It’s hard to avoid clichés when describing this restaurant. It really is a little gem. As it seats only 20 people it makes for a very intimate setting. The décor has a rustic South American feel. We arrived for an early evening meal at 7pm and were promptly shown to our table. We ordered the Pão De Queijo for starters and for main course we have fillet steak and lobster. I have to say that nothing disappointed. The Pão De Queijo came with 3 sauces, a pate based sauce, a salmon based sauce and an herb sauce. I had the lobster for my main course and I really enjoyed the orange sauce that came with it. It was nice to have a change to the traditional lobster thermidor found in most restaurants. The waiting staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly and really made the dining experience that little bit more special and pleasant. We will be definitely be returning hopefully with a few friends in tow. I would recommend this for people who love their food and are looking for something a little different.

I can not recommend this restaurant enough. It's a complete unique dining experience in Dublin. Since renovations the decor looks like walking into an 1800s boudoir. I'm not sure I get the whole link with Brasil, it just felt a bit over the top posh for the homely, hearty food that is being served. We shared a starter of guava chips, which was tasty but way too big to even finish between the two of us.We didn't even try as we have been here before and know the main course sizes are very big as well. We had the feijoda and the chicken stuffed with cream cheese. Delicious! In between our courses they served us olives, a lemon sorbet, bean soup all on the house. And to finish we got a taste of home made cookies and a small liquor. We shared a lovely bottle of wine and the bill came only to just over 40 euro p.p., which is great value for what turned out to be a 6 or 7 course dinner. I will definitely go back soon!

We were there as a booked group of 4 and we really enjoyed our first brazilian experience. I had the pastel with ham, cheese and oregano (fantastic), my boyfriend had the mince one and my two friends had the courgete and fig salad. The atmosphere is very nice and you feel like you are in some friend's house. The music is very nice and I asked for the waiter some singer's names to look later in the internet because sounds like soul's music. They don't have a big selection of wine but they have some nice ones. For mains we had bife a role, filet steak, feijoada and chicken strogonoff, all of them tasty and the portions are nice. I highly recomend this place for who wants to have a good night with partner and friends with no rush. The service is very nice and the waiters are very friendly. The only problem we had was just a noisy group beside us who was complaining about everything and talking very loud. I highly recomend for the guys there don't take drunk groups in a fine dinning place. We will be back for sure and thanks for the brazilian waiter for the singer's names, they are fantastic.

Arrived early without booking, 3 people, 1 Brazilian. Pastels and Pao de queijo fantastic, authentic, delicious. V disappointed with mains, had to wait 45mins for grelhado(massively underseasoned), stroganoff (really very bad, overpowering ketchup taste) and bife roll. we were given sorbets and soup free, which is fine, if you dont mind distractions during huge wait. Wine ok, no sbeer or spirits due to license, and on our night the card machine wasn't working - not a problem normally, but straight from work and having to walk through hail and freezing cold for cash.. not a great impression. Really great shame - service as good as it gets, starters excellent, mains mediocre. €50 each, 3 starters, 3 mains, 2 bottles wine.

Very very nice. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Really really delicious food, and so much of it too! It's a bit expensive but in fairness I've been to more expensive restaurants and the food wasn't half as nice nor did you get as much. I actually couldn't recommend this place more. Will try and get my friends to go there for a Christmas party!

Sadly disappointed Booked upon the excellent reviews I had read on Menue pages. It was for my Brazilian partners birthday celebration. The 1st 3 of us arrived 25 mins late and the table/room we had being given had still not being setup. It was nearly 30 mins before anyone came for us to order a drink and still at this stage the table was not setup. The rest of our party.was thankfully very late. Our starters took 40 mins to arrive. After being asked specifically by the restaurant to not eat and starve ourselves all day we started to get drunk. It was another 2 hours before the mains arrived. This was dragged out by a course of sorbet, a tasty soup and a glass of lettuce with a prawn. Two of the party had the lobster and said it was barely a mouthful. The rest of the mains were good. The bill cost €510 for 8 people. We left promptly after this due to the late hour. Service was sporadic and it felt like you were asking to be served. Decor is beautiful, perhaps lighting a little dark. Feel if they cut out all the in betweens it would be a much more pleasurable experience and cut the cost by 15%. Perhaps they had a bad night.

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!! Because of the wonderful reviews, we decided to try Sabor Brazil. When we first walked past, I had my doubts. However, the moment we stepped inside it won me over. The atmosphere was adorable, and the service was impeccable. The waiters were attentive, but did not rush us in any way. As much as I enjoyed the experience, the food was the best part. Every dish looked wonderful, but I had a fig/basil/prosciutto salad starter, and my partner had a stuffed courgette starter. Both were amazing. For the mains we both had the Peru com Bacon. I was more than pleasantly surprised. It was delicious and tastefully presented. They gave a large portion, but it wasn't over-the-top. I was dubious about the rice, but it was my favourite part of the meal. The sorbet was a lovely touch as well. All in all, a fantastic night and I have already recommended it to all of my friends. This restaurant is not to be missed!

I decided to visit based on other reviews on menupages and I was not disappointed. It is truly fine dining, and all told, great value, when you consider that we got two sorbets, soup and a prawn taster included at no extra charge. The wine list has a very small selection and the markup is very high - but on the plus side you can byob for a corkage fee - I would recommend you do that if possible. Service was impeccable, I chose to sit upstairs thinking it would be warmer but it wasn't - and a loud group arrived after a while but this is not a complaint, the lovely waiter gave us our choice and told us about the group booking and also asked if we were warm enough! Food heavy on pork which didn't suit my husband and steak too heavy on garlic for us but I say go for the experience.

I decided to book this place for my anniversary, after reading the reviews. I also read a review about this restaurant in the Irish Independent, which sounded amazing. Let me tell you, it was! Truly a lovely place to relax, unwind and enjoy a beautiful meal at your own pace. The decor was fab, all the chairs are covered in fine linen, along with the tables. There's a warm cosy atmosphere created by candle light fixtures to the walls and tables, very romantic. My partner and I forgot to bring our carefully chosen wine for the evening, so we rang ahead and the lovely waiter told me exactly where to go to acquire the same bottle of wine. We had the upstairs room to ourselves for most of our time there. The waiter was fantastic, very friendly and informative, and easy on the eye!! We had complimentary olives to start, then a complimentary sorbet, which brought a smile to our face. We had the Brazilian platter which was beautiful, but way too much food for 2 people, I would recommend that a party of 4 avail of this option. For mains, we had the Brazilian stew and Chicken stuffed with cream cheese and chive. Both were amazing and so much food!! We had another compliamentary sorbet after our meal, which was beautiful. We didnt order desert, however the waiter gave us a compliamentary desert to share between us. It was beautiful! If you're a big eater, you will love this place, if not - arrive very hungry! ENJOY!

Great place they know how to make you feel welcome. Party of 4 adults and 2 children. We had the upstairs room to ourselves for most of our time there. Lovely room and great for not worrying too much about the kids. The service was fantastic very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They even gave the kids meal for free! The free olives and sorbets are a nice touch. We had mains Brazillian stew was very good and plentiful. The pork was excellent as was the turkey. The Tuna steak was really big and tasty. Would definately go back, only one issue was that the corkage is a bit expensive.

First of all I would like to say thanks for the owners of this very well furnished and fine dinner restaurant Sabor Brazil. The service and the attention they have paid to their guests has to do with the receptivity from Dublin people and friendly Brazilian way. I come from Germany and that was my first trip to Dublin. I was impressed with the high quality of the food and the service. I recommend you to visit them and get the flair of being in a five stars hotel. When I get to Dublin again I will come back there for sure. Greetings from Berlin

4 of us visited Sabor Brasil on a quiet Thursday night. We had the upstairs to ourselves, which was great, it was like being in someone's dining room. The waiter was very attentive and brought lovely dishes of olives for nibblies-fab- then sorbets .We had the mixed platter for starters and great bread, then the more sorbets...all free. We all had different mains , all delicious ,more free sorbets.. no room for dessert..Coffee....then a fruit bowl also free. The quality of the food and the service was the best we have had for ages. The bill for 4 of us was €150.00. and for what we had was brilliant value. Can't reccommend it enough, Good Luck to both the lads they deserve to have a winner.

Overall, very impressed with this place. It's quirky, intimate and real. The service was excellent, it's attention to detail and menu knowledge without intrusion is a winning combination. The sorbets are a lovely touch and the fact you can bring your own vino , and be charged a very reasonable rate of corkage makes this place worth a visit.

Went back to Sabor Brazil last night - we hadn't been there for about a month and were getting withdrawal symptoms! They've re-decorated the place and it looks fantastic. Food was amazing as usual. We had Fejoida and the Turkey dish. Really fantastic and so much. We didn't have room for dessert but the lovely waiter brought us a sample of some chocolates that the chef had made. Unsurprisingly they were also fantastic. Service was brilliant as well. The only drawback to this restaurant is what it might do to your waistline but you know what - it'd probably be worth it! Already planning the next visit!!

WOW I have been here quite a few times now and this place just keeps getting better and better evertime I go. I was there on Saturday night after a trip it to La Clique it was just the most wonderful night. I had the turkey dish, at 1st seems expensive but then it arrives and WOW it's amazing. They have recently just newly decorated down stairs and added some bits to the up-stairs and its lovely. Yes I will be back again very soon.

A++ ! I decided to book this restaurant after reviewing the comments on MenuPages and it was great to find that they were all accurate. I can't say enough great things about this place. The waiter was one of the best I've had the pleasure to be served by, knowledgable, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and there were wonderful additional touches throughout our meal that make this place a true gem. The jug of water had fresh fruit and mint to give a wonderful flavour. We were given a bowl of olives while we waited for our starters, delicious sorbe between courses to cleanse the palet, a choice of fruit after our coffee and a given a free slice of desert. Other restaurants should take note that this is how you should run your business. The Brazilan chef is truely gifted and cooks delicious food. You can tell that both owners really love what they do and I wish them every sucess! You won't be disapointed with this place.

This is a lovely place, very relaxed atmosphere. It is a little bit like eating in someones house but in a really nice way. Real fresh ingredients, all made to order and the taste is great. I really really enjoyed the food, the place and the hospitality. And you can bring your own wine to dinner whichi n days of crisis is a real incentive and a nice touch. I will definitely return!

This place is a real gem! The food is unusual (how many Brazilian eateries are in Dublin??) and of an amazingly high standard. The service is outstanding even though there was only one waitor working, he was attentive, knowledgeable and attentive through out. Mains are a little pricey but the quality of the food and portions more than make up for it. I would highly recommend anyone who likes quirky off beat establishments a visit!

Wonderful find. My girlfriend and I went for dinner here on a saturday night. From the moment we arrived it was great. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and the decor upstairs is lovely. Cosy and wonderfully decorated. The real highlight of the evening was the food. We had the sharing platter to start which was amazing which I would recommend. For mains we had the bife a role and the feijoada which were both gorgeous and came with lovely sides. The banana pie for desert topped off a great meal. There were also lovely free extras included such as sorbets, fruit and chocolates. I really can’t recommend this place enough.

A little gem of a restaurant and stands up to many of the great reviews on this site. Although the ground floor looks a little like a cafe, upstairs is very nice. The service was second to none which was great. Food was excellent and nicely presented. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and hope to go back soon!

I had heard great things about this restaurant through a good friend and was not disappointed! Myself and 9 others went for dinner to Sabor Brazil to celebrate a 30th birthday and the staff could not have been nicer. They were friendly, attentive and all in all a pleasure to deal with. They really made an effort to make it a special evening for us all The food was great too and not too pricey. I would defintely go back - it's a little gem.

Went here two Fridays ago with my boyfriend after he saw all the brilliant reviews on Menupages. Have to say, I thought it was the nicest place I've been to in a long while. The place is small, so it's quite intimate. The waiter was very attentive, yet not overbearing. We were able to enjoy our food and didn't feel rushed at all. I liked how he gave us extra bits apart from what we ordered. When he corked our wine, we got olives to nibble own before our starter arrived. Then between the starter and the main, we each got a sorbet. After the main, he gave us a free dessert. The food itself was gorgeous, and the portion sizes were quite substantial. Definitely good value at this place!

I'm not Irish but I had to register as being Irish. I took the trouble because me and my Dad had a GREAT time at Sabor as tourists visiting Dublin! I had picked this restaurant from this website based on the glorious reviews and we were not disappointed. Sabor is the host and his chef, that's it. The host wasn't playacting, he's a natural. They were serving a large group and so we had to wait for our order, but the host made the wait most enjoyable by serving us free mango sorbet, cheese bread and egg salad. The main order was delicious and afterwards the host presented us with free guarana drink and fruit water because it was "coming towards the end of my shift". The chef also came to greet us. In all, it was an unforgettable evening and as we were leaving the host gave us a handful of sweets to go. Truly amazing service and great food!

Boyfriend chose this restaurant to go to before a show in the NCH. Can't rave enough about the place. It looks like a cafe downstairs but upstairs is lovely, homey and inviting. Our waiter could now have been nicer with great recommendations on the menu and a free banana cake and sobet to cap off a fantastic evening. Will defo be recommending this place for anyone who wants comfort, good food and great service.

Six out of five! :) I went here for my birthday with my boyfriend and we weren't disappointed. we arrived at half seven and didnt leave until after half ten. There is such a chilled out, relxing atmosphere. We shared a platter for starters- delicious and really filling. the pastels are yummy. I got the stew for mains- so so god and there was so much of it, I couldnt finsish it. We were too full for dessert but will definatley be goign back to try it. The staff are so freindly and attentive wthout being overly so. Its a BYO restaurant so we brought our own wine. We had been told about the €6 corkage fee but we got a discount on the night. Cant recommend this place enough :)

My boyfriend and I went to this place for lunch after reading recommendations from Menupages and we were not disappointed. It feels like an oasis in the middle of Dublin centre. Staff are so attentive and polite and the food, even for lunch is so tasty. They even gave complimentary olives while we waited for our food. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

A Hidden Gem! I booked a table for last Saturday and unfortunately I arrived a little late. Either way there were no problems! The menu itself was short and sweet. Myself and my partner had the starter platter which came with a bit of everything. Really tasty and generous size portion. I had the beef Strogonoff for main, which can also come with Chicken. It was fantastic! And again, a generous portion of food. I took the orange cheescake (which wasn't on the menu, I saw if from a previous post here) for desert. Very nice indeed! The atmosphere was cozy and the waiter couldn't do enough. Very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommend!

Just had dinner in this charming little place. Very nice food although I think they could offer an early bird or value menu during the current times. Overall good value for what we had. Will bring our own bottle of wine next time.

I ate here last night as part of a group and was a little let down by the experience, though I'm definitely in the minority here. First off the restaurant itself is nicely furnished, brightly lit and very spacious and both members of staff greeted us warmly when we arrived. My food was quite disappointing though I think I may have just ordered badly as everyone else enjoyed their's quite a bit. I opted for deep-fried cassava on the waiter's recommendation, and while it was nice it really turned out to be little more than a plate of chips. After reading the recommendations of previous reviewers i knew in advance I'd be trying the feijoada and while it certainly was a lot of food unfortunately found it to be rather bland and quite free of the beef and sausage, consisting mostly of black beans. For dessert i tried the milk pudding which again was pretty bland. However i tried one of my fellow diners orange-choc cheesecake and it was out of this world good!! Service was very friendly all night, and we were offered free sorbet and a big platter of salad for the table, however there were often quite long gaps in the service with some diners (myself included) waiting quite a while for courses that had already been served to others. I have to point out that it was pretty darn hot in the upstairs too and some form of A/C is definitely needed here. The main problem i would have though is the corkage charge, €6 per bottle is outrageously high, especially when we have no choice but to BYOB.

This place is definitely a nice change of scenery, and something a bit different in Dublin which is good. I was there last week with my partner, and having being told the place didn’t do alcohol/wine) (which in Ireland it will have to bring in at least wine to the menu i think) we brought our own bottle of wine. For starters we had the cheese balls, and salad, Having read the reviews I expected to be blown away, they were both ok but definitely nothing amazing. The mains though were fantastic. I had the beef with chicken and ham, and my partner had the stroganoff. Both were huge in portions and were served with lovely dips and amazing Brazilian beans. Absolutely delicious. We didn’t try the dessert as were so stuffed but I will skip the starters next time and go for a main and dessert as the desserts sounded very cool. The food was good value 16-18 euro for a fantastic main, but we were charged 6 euro for wine corkage. I am fine with that in a place that serves alcohol but in a place where alcohol isn’t an option, i don’t think they should charge you for bringing your own. All that said I will be back, as the place has lots of potential and makes a welcome change from lots of the generic Dublin eateries about today

After being initially put off by the facade, we were pleasantly surprised by the rest of our experience. The downstairs feels like a coffee shop, but we were seated upstairs in a lovely room. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. My friend had the feijoada, and claimed it was quite authentic. The exotic fruit dessert was out of this world. We had 3 courses and the bill came to about 30 per person.

A wonderful surprise! The staff are amazing, they make you feel at home and spoil you with attention. The restaurant, which is located on the first floor is lovely, cosy but wonderfully decorated and with a tropical scent. The food is cooked to perfection and well presented; it's been one of our best dining experience in years! We had three two starters, a delicious complimentary home made focaccia & olives, two mains, dessert an coffee, the total bill came at €40!! Amazing value and amazing food, we'll definitely be back!

This restaurant has great potential. Ate there recently and the food was great, but a few niggly issues... We had the salada mista, and the beef pastel to start. Beef strogonoff and feijoada for mains. My salada mista was missing: olives, cauliflour and onions (as listed on the menu), but was still tasty. They didn't have the meat balls, but did give us some cheese bread complimentary with our starters. The beef straganoff had more vegetables than beef, but was still tasty. But the feijoada was amazing - lovely thick sauce with lots of beans and sausage. Worth the visit and extremely reasonable!

What a wonderful place! The staff are great -really friendly and accommodating (we were mad late and they should have been going home when we were arriving...). My partner, who is from Brazil, absolutely loved it. He said it was proper authentic Brazilian food but the surroundings were a bit more glamorous than he'd been used to there :) We had the bolinhas and the pastel (with a mix of all the fillings) and the churrasquinho, I'd definitely recommend asking for the chilli oil too but use with caution! We'll be back for the feijoada -I've had the home cooked version and it's like a hug on a plate, real honest good healthy food.

I've been living in Europe since June 2007 and since then I haven't have such good Brazilian "Feijoada" (cooked black beans with its delicious garnishes) as I had in this restaurant. This is one of my faves now.
