Went here with 2 others for a quick bite to eat. Menu was priced at ~€9 for mains. There is not a huge selection of food, burger, fish and chips, chicken salad. Overall we were very disappointed with the food. the chips tasted/felt like they were re-heated in the microwave. The waiter said the fish was cod but when it arrived it was most definitely not cod, it was extra thin (more like plaice) and breadcrumb batter was hard and overcooked. The side salad was limp and warm. It was almost like the food was made hours ago and just re-heated before being served to us. One of us had a pint of guinness and according to the drinker tasted off but was priced at only €4 so good value for early drinks. There was not much of an atmosphere here as we were probably too early for after-work-drinks, and it was a tuesday. I would not be returning here.

Was in here for lunch, lovely decor and great food, fantastic value.I had the chicken ceaser salad, it was really good. Atmosphere was great, I could have stayed there all day. Been here a few times and the food and value have always been consistent.

I didn't used to be a fan of this place at all but I've just been for lunch here and was pleasantly surprised. There was a really nice relaxed atmosphere and the goats cheese salad was really good.

Just after having lunch here, and am disappointed. Food used to be good and menu used to be more varied. One person with me had lasagne which had to be sent back as it was stone cold. Also a burger which was well done in spots and completely rare in others. We had soft drinks and all were flat, these were replaced but were the same again. Overall I certainly wont be going back here again.

This is a great spot for lunch with the work crowd, especially when soakage is required. The food is tasty and well served on the plate and there are a good range of options for fishy people to burger boys. The only downside has to be the tables and armchairs not being too practical when cutting food on your plate. Otherwise this is a great spot!

Went here on friday night for a xmas party, had the area on top reserved. Champagne on arrival, appertives and chicken wings, sausages etc. Very good atmosphere, and food well presented and tasty!

Chose this restaurant as it looked like a nice place for lunch, my how looks are deceiving!! The staff at this establishment are dreadful and not one of them could speak a full english sentence. I have food allergies and gave up speaking to the wait staff and went directly to the kitchen to speak to the chef personally. The food came and it was awful, I felt extremely ripped off eating here.

The decor in here is lovely and I imagine it could be a fantastic place for a meal or drinks with friends. However expect to get awful service and don't even think about booking a party here. They cancelled the booking without informing us because a better offer came along. Instead of offering a few complimentary drinks and apologising for their error, they blamed the couple who were celebrating their engagement and then tried to stop the party from having fun for the rest of the night.

Bring back the chicken enchiladas! Went here for lunch with work gang, we hadn't been in a while so I was expecting to see the enchiladas on the menu however they are no more! I had a Thai Curry which was fab, all the group enjoyed their food from burgers to lasanges. We'll come here again!

Pretentious and overpriced are the words that come to mind whenever I leave Ron Blacks. Perhaps that's my own fault for continuing to go back! I normally enjoy this kind of place over the other city centre pubs, but I've yet to enjoy the atmosphere in here. The food and food options are really quite poor (and are all greasy and unhealthy) and you pay nearly 1€ more per drink than in other nearby joints.

I often venture into Ron Blacks for lunch & I must say the food in their is delicious!! Although, I'm heartbroken that they have removed their yummy 'Chicken Enchiladas' from their lunch menu. It's quite busy at lunchtime so unfortunately, sometimes the service can be a bit slow but the food is so tasty that it makes up for it!! Chile con Carne is also yum!!

Went for a few drinks after work and we ordered three platters. The food on them was suprisingly good and at 17 euro each you actually got a huge amount of food. Everything was really tasty and we ended up ordering more food as they went down so well! The service was quite quick too.

I love their pub food, my girlfriend and I have eaten here together twice, and the food is cheap and cheerful. On a downside, the service is slow, and you often have to call a waiter over as they don't float around at all, and also the tables tend to be dirty. But their pub menu is great and the quality of food is not bad at all. Cheap and cheerful... Sit upstairs for a bit more quiet !

Went here last night for a quick bite to eat with a friend before heading home, have to say was pleasantly surprised. We both opted to have the Chicken Caesar Salad on my friend’s recommendation and it was delicious. Another plus point was the fact that there was a decent amount of chicken in it; this is a rare thing these days. We both shared a portion of their onion rings, which were very good too. Will definitely return, probably to try one of the hot options, only thing that let it down was the service which was a bit slow.

Been here twice, both times on a very quiet Sunday afternoon, which meant that there wasn’t much of an atmosphere. The food was good though, good old-fashioned pub grub, comfort hangover food. Not too badly priced and the service was good. I’ll go when its a bit busier before making a proper decision about here.

An unexpected find in the middle of Dawson Street. Food is good and reasonable and I congratulated them the last time I was there on their healthy kids menu, which had so many options. They also let the kids colour and send them a voucher for a free meal on their birthday. It has my vote! My only gripe is that the seats are so darned uncomfortable.

Brilliant for lunch. The menu has a good selection and having tried most of the dishes the food is really nice. The service is very quick and friendly. Its also good value for money.

Great place to go for lunch, if you are early and you can get a seat. The food is good lunch food with a good mix of things to choose from but I recommend leaving before the rest of the work crew.

Service very poor here at lunchtime it was a Tuesday and the lunchtime rush was over as it was gone 2 o clock, the glasses were filthy, changed twice, still had to polish it off with serviettes ourselves, food greasy and lukewarm, wont be back!
