Ate here for the first time today. First impression the place seemed a but grubby. Food in the candle and used hand wipes on the floor. Shared the chilli con carne nacho's for starter. Were very tasty, did enjoy them, but not amazing. For main I ordered a starter as none of the main's appealed to me. I had chicken skewer's marinated in tequila. My partner ordered a burger, which the didn't have so he had to order rib's instead. Overall the food was very average. I couldn't taste any tequila but i did enjoy as the mango salsa with the skewer's was fresh and tasty. However the salad was limp in parts and slightly gritty. My partner enjoyed his rib's, but once again they were quiet average. I doubt I'll return but the visit was pleasant , I've had worse!

Came here with the girls for dinner and drinks after work on a Friday. Really nice restaurant and the staff are friendly. Menu caters for Mexican and European dishes, which is great when trying to choose a restaurant where there are big differences in palates! The service was very efficient and the complimentary nachos and dips were great. The starters and main courses were all lovely. We all had the fajitas for mains bar one of my friends who had salmon. The fajitas (beef/ chicken) and the salmon were very tasty and generous in portion. The dessert menu isn't great but the Irish coffee I had was lovely. Atmosphere was nice and bustling. Great location right on Temple Bar. I will return to Mexico to Rome for sure but I'd love to see a dessert menu with more choice.

We went here with a menupages deal and it really was excellent value. We had 3 courses for starters we had the tequila and lime skewers the flavour of these were gorgeous and my partner had meatballs which were a huge portion. I had the salmon for mains it was cooked lovely and was the perfect size portion my partner had the burritos which again were very good and a big portion. The deserts were lovely just a nice size after a big meal. The menupages deal was great value the service was brilliant, I hadn't been here in a few years and I have to say it has improved greatly I will be going back. My only complaint is the front is so small that anytime someone comes in the place gets freezing with the door left open and it was a horrible nite when we were in here so if I was going again I would ask for a table in the back.

I was a regular customer here, however on my last visit, the chef had changed as had the menu.... Disappointed with the food choice available for the early bird menu, and the house wine had also been changed to a different wine which wasn't as nice. Don't think will return unless the menu changes.

We had got a coupon deal for this restaurant which we thought was fantastic value but I have to say we were disappointed with the food and the service there. We found one of the waiters to be very brusque and our food was at best average. While the deal was good value we ended up not enjoying our meal there and would be reluctant to return.

had lunch here today.went for a la cart as had deal voucher.waiter was very helpful ,explained what we could have and what was extra.I had garlic prawns and partner had meatballs for starters, which were plentyful and delicious.for main course partner had prawns on linguini and i had parmesan chicken with pasta.the portions were huge and very tasty. We finished with icecream and coffee. We thought it was good value as we had voucher but maybe a bit pricey if not.Tables are a little too close together,a lot of chair scraping and shuffling went on.however more importantly, the service and food were great.

This was our third visit to Mixico to Rome and we were rather disappointed. The restaurant had retained it's quirky charm but the quality of the food had declined. The portions were small (having ordered the same dish on a previous occasion I was disappoined as it did not compare in flavour, or quantity) . My boyfriend felt the same. There was no side order with the dish (despite being advertised on the menu, I checked online after we left as I was wondering had I imagined it when it did not arrive with the mains), and the Tiramasu would not be the best I have tasted. We had purchased a voucher for the meal. Had we paid full price we would have been peeved with regard to value for money. Would not be in a hurry to return.

Maybe this place is hit and miss based on the reviews thus far. This was definitely a miss for me. Food was very basic. Had a meal deal so value for money in a sense, but if I had to have paid full price for this meal I would be even more disappointed. Staff were friendly. Bizarre little place, I like art but the enormous nude mural on the wall seemed out of place next to the glowing red lights!!! Quesadilla's for starter were unexciting, chicken fajitas were tasty but chicken seemed like it was just heated up. Dessert was inedible. Never had such a dry, chewy tiramisu before and my partner struggled through a sloppy mousse! Won't be returning anytime soon.

I love this place! I went on a Sunday evening with my family and we got there in time for the early bird menu. Great value! There was a good selection on the menu and they didn't scrimp on the amount of food to make up for the price. We were all stuffed and very pleased. Will defo go again.

What an awful experience, we chose to pick off the Christmas menu as the original menu didn't offer much different. I chose the Tiger Prawns in garlic butter and was served six pieces of rubber drowned in garlic, my partner went for the tortillas and dips and when they arrives looked like they'd been squeezed out of a tube, they went well with the broken tortillas though (sarcasm). After such a dismal starter I wasn't holding out much for the main course and they didn't disappoint. We both ordered the chicken tostadas and the chicken was hard, I think we arrived a day early in order to get yesterday's cooked chicken. It was served on a mountain of mixed salad leaves which filled out the plate well but neither of us finished our plate, we ordered side dishes of fries and garlic bread and although frozen the fries turned out to be the highlight of the meal. It was followed by two generic desserts which were passable. We wont be back !!!

Myself and my husband ate here last saturday - we had a deal for 2 cocktails, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts. We had the Dragon Slayer for cocktail which was yummy and had for starter i had the Nachos Grande - Truely DEVINE, and my husband had Gambas Al Ajillo which were lovely, could not fault either dish. For main we both had Burritos, i had chicken and my husband had the beef. I felt the chicken had been cooked a few times as it was stringy texture so wasnt great so the main dish was quite a let down as was the dessert when compared to the starter. Not sure I would go back to be honest, Nice atmosphere, OK service but jst the main and dessert seemed to be lacking effort. Might go back and get he Nachos tho and have the large portion and jst leave it at that.

I dined at the Mexico to Rome Reastaurant on Saturday evening the 17th of December with my wife and our 6 friends.Being it been a busy Saturday evening the week before Christmas and parties being on we were seated very quickly and found the atmosphere to be warm and comfortable,we ordered of the Christmas special 3 course menu which was a 3 course menu for just under €22 which we found to be unbelievably great value for money and had a wide range of choices of food on it. The staff were very pleasant as always and welcoming and the service was 100%.as it always as we visit the restaurant as often as possible The location is very central and of easy access and the seating and atmosphere was brilliant. We liked everything about the place and would definately be dining again next Christmas and throughout the year (2012) at The Mexico to Rome and would highy recommend our friends and other member's of our family to dine there in the future..

Recently bought a deal for here. Food was ok, not very tasty, very little seating but right off Temple Bar so good location. Staff were friendly and service was good. Dont take a seat near the door though as it gets very cold with the breeze coming through either when someone comes in or goes out for a smoke (which happened quite a lot when we were there)

I did not leave overtly happy having eaten in this place. The italian side of the menu is not great and the pasta dish I had was very bland and tasteless needing lots of extra parmesan (which was just normal cheese) and black pepper. I think they should just stick with the mexican and do one thing well instead of trying to please everyone. Nevertheless this place was busy the night I went in lots of people going for the early bird special. As previous poster mentioned the lack of a seating area for arriving people makes the tables at the front very awkward and cold with breeze from door. Overall I would say this place relies on tourists and not regulars as the footfall is huge in the area.

This place has a pretty cheap early bird special with quite a few choices. While the dishes aren't overly authentically Mexican, they're still tasty. Nothing fancy, just some comfort food which I'd recommend after a cold walk around the city.

Bought the deal for myself and 5 friends. Went at 7pm on Friday (note deal is not worth it if you are going before 7pm as the same offer is €13.99 at the door). Food was fantastic, served very promptly with great portion sizes and flavour. That I'm afraid is where the compliments end. The service was terrible - we were asked to leave table by 9.30pm but waited almost 30 mins between each course - we left on time because we couldn't get any service, drinks etc. Felt like we were an inconvenience, maybe because we bought the deal however nobody was servicing the front of the restaurant and other complained and left also. In addition to this, crowds of people came in on a regular basis to get a table. They stand in the middle of the floor which is directly over your table, often holding the door open. The worst part is no one came to greet these people for ages so some of them stood there for up to 20 mins (wouldn't be me...) only to be told there were no tables and so left. Such a shame the service and management of poeple was so poor as the food was very good - not one complaint. We could of spent so much more on the cocktails had someone come to serve us but we ended up drinking the water jug dry before looking for someone. We wouldn't go back based on our experience.

Arrived for a 7 30 reservation and was shown to our table only to be left there for at least 15 mins without even being asked if we would like a drink. Ate here using Menu Pages Deal which was great value and included a "cocktail on arrival" but there was no offer of the cocktail from our server so had to ask when we could have it..The restaurant was busy but the staff did not appear to be very happy in their work. Our server did not smile once while we were there. Food was lovely but atmosphere was not very pleasent. Maybe they shouldn't opt into any Menu Deals if they handle the the business it can bring .Don't think I would return unless the service improved

Can't fault this place! Been here a good few times now for the early bird, such good value and you get such delicious grub in a really chilled environment. Went with two friends and sat there for the whole evening and didn't feel anyone pushed by the staff to leave, service was great and felt really welcomed by the whole team working there! We got our free glass of wine by mentioning menupages so were happy out! All in all a great evening out, definitely the place to go for a tasty meal, preferably the early bird for value reasons, would have to recommend this restaurant to all!

I was here for the first time for a friend's birthday, she is a regular visitor and loves the place. We were beside the window looking out to the quays which is great if you like people watching but there's more private areas if the thought of strangers catching your eye while eating puts you off. There was a three course special and we all went for that.three courses for just over €20. I went for the prawns which were tasty and the goats cheese salad got the thumbs up from others. My steak for the main was rare as requested, it came with chips and I made the mistake of covering them with the ketchup that was on the table, it tasted cheap and artifical and I couldn't eat rest of the chips. The desserts of chocolate and profiteroles were ok. The service was patient as some people were late so there was alot of waiting and faffing but once the dishes were ordered meals came out pretty quickly.

I love this place! Love the interior, food and its good value. Given TB location there's always a good atmosphere in mexico to rome. Our server was lovely. Ive been here twice- only with family and once on a date. Everyone was happy. Maybe Im biased since I am a big mexican foodie.:) Will return soon.

My friend and I had dinner here because we both liked Mexican and Italian food. We both got the 19 euro 3 course meal deal. It was good value 'cause the food was lovely. Although, my friend did complained a bit about her prawn starter, as there was only 3 prawns in it, which was very small to her. I got the nachos myself and it was nice. We then got the Canneloni and carbonara pasta's which were both good. But the best part was the dessert, we had the profiteroles and chocolate cake, they were delicious. Next time, would love to try more of their Mexican food though. The service was good too, atmosphere was alright. It is a little bit darker inside. It's a nice, little quaint restaurant. Would go back next time.

I brought my family here to celebrate my son's Leaving Cert results, the restaurant was busy, but the service was very good. The food was beautiful, we ordered from the early bird menu and everyone was very happy with their meal. The staff were lovey and friendly and it was great value for money. We definately recommend it and I will be back again.

Myself and my girlfriend went for some grub here on a Friday night just before meeting friend for a few drinks. We weren't very hungry and so we just got three starters between the two of us. We had the Nachos Grande, I wanted extra Guacamole which was no problem, they did however charge for this. We also got the baked potato which was yummy, loads of chilli on it. We ordered the deep fried brie which is kinda standard fare really. The service was very good, although there was only three groups of people in the place including ourselves, so I couldn't say how they would perform if under pressure. I quite liked the atmosphere of the place, it's quite dark, but that appealed to me. It's more suited to a romantic meal for two rather than a group though. I probably wouldn't go back in a hurry-but in saying that there's very few places in Dublin that I do return to on a regular basis.

They have changed the lunch specials at Mexico to Rome since the last time I was here, it's 9.95 for two courses without a glass of wine, but it's still really good food at very good value, for lunch time anyway. If you want you can get the wine for an extra 3, They have added a new starter which is a potato skin loaded with chilli and cheese and this was really excellent. Fancied a burger and the cheddar cheese burger is very good cooked just the way I like, but if you like enchiladas, they do those really well as well. My friend got the minute steak and loved it. Recommended!!

Had intended using up some MenuPoints in this restaurant, but there were plenty of special offers on so we decided to hold off and use the points in another restaurant at a future date. There were 2-course and 3-coures early birds, different combinations of offers, some with a glass of Stella Artois, and others with wine. We were brought a jug of water as soon as we were seated, and on mentioning MenuPages we were given a free glass of red wine. I had the Tiger Prawns in garlic and chilli, they were juicy and succulent and perfectly cooked. Service was prompt and staff friendly. There was a steady stream of diners in and out all evening. Toilets were clean and tidy and the meal was good value. Don’t forget to mention MenuPages and get your free glass of wine!

There are so many special deals going on in this restaurant that the mind just boggles – not surprised the waiter was as confused as we were! They’ve plenty of offers in the window and lots more when you actually sit down. We didn’t have a booking but had no problem getting a table in the early evening. Rather charming little place. Looks small from the outside, but it stretches out the back towards the River Liffey at Wellington Quay. It's in a lovely location right on Meeting House Square. It was a really warm day so the door was open and we could hear (and see) what was going on outside We had Brushcetta and Garlic Bread for starters – absolutely delicious! My main of chicken breast in creamy wild mushroom & white wine sauce was equally as good and was served with a crunchy side salad. It was rounded off with a bottle of wine, a shared dessert and two coffees.

I had a very nice lunch in this restaurant on my own recently. I decided to have a burger which was delicious. It was free as I had redeemed some Menu points. Because I mentioned menupages they gave me a free glass of wine. It was after 2pm and they were very quiet. Waitress was very nice and helpful. I will definitely visit again. Nice way of trying new places.

Dined here in the afternoon and found it great value . It was quiet on a tue afternoon. The value menu at approx 14 .50 was limited which was not a problem considering price . I had meat balls which were really tasty and well spiced my friend had the burrito burger which was also very tasty . All in all a good experience and we will be back to try the full menu

Slap bang in the middle of Temple bar in a busy Thursday night...I was thinking this isnt going to be the best idea Ive ever had...I was wrong... Youd expect them to take advantage considering their location is in touristville and most of their custom is one timers, but no... Mexico to Rome was just perfect for us, nice buzz inside, seated quickly, attentive waiters and very, very nice food. huge choice on the menu which seemed to focus mostly on mexican food....was very pleasantly surprised. Will definatley pop back in again here...well priced too.

Went here for a much needed dinner after the mini marathon. The early bird offer is fantastic with three courses for 14.95 and if you mention menupages there is a free glass of wine. This was great value and the food was tasty and wholesome. I couldnt fault the food and there was a good choice on the menu. The atmosphere was very quiet and at times I felt like we were being rushed and the courses were served very quickly! In the heart of temple bar it is a great location. For value and food I would return here!

I like this little restaurant in the heart of the city centre. The menu hasn’t changed since my last visit which is my only complaint. But I enjoyed my meal none the less. I drank a lot of wine and we were given a round of Irish coffees and sambucas on the house so my exact recollection of who ordered what is a bit fuzzy. But I do know that we all enjoyed the food and there were no complaints. Overall this was a very good meal. The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was good too.

This restaurant is located in a very busy/touristic part of dublin (Temple Bar). My husband and I dined here on a saturday night. There is no parking in the area only at the quays. I liked that they sat us at the back of the restaurant - there was more atmosphere and looking out the quays. The service was a bit dry and delayed. We went for the set menu (fridays and saturdays after 7 pm) euros 23 for a 3 course meal. I got the prawns in a tomato sauce, beef burrito (beef was a tiny bit overcooked for my liking) and the chocolate cake. Overall the food was good, nothing amazing. I would probably come back to this place with a group of friends or a girls night out, not for a romantic dinner though.

Headed in here last Friday for their 2 course meal + wine for 9.95. Was expecting something quite pedestrian, given the location and price. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. We were seated to the back of the restaurant in a nice bright area overlooking the liffey.. There were 15 main courses to choose from and a few starters. There were even 3 mains choices for us vegis. We both choose bruschetta as a starter. The bread came down lightly toasted and warm with an abundance of chopped tomato, basil and garlic. It was mouthwateringly delicious. Our main courses of vegetarian burritos arrived. The vegetables were very generous stuffed into the burrito, which was struggling to encase them. This was accompanied with a very tangy spicy sauce, absolutely gorgeous, no nouvelle cuisine here. The lunch menu also provided for extra glass of wine for 3 euro, so of course, we had to be bold and have another one!!. This deal is Monday – Friday 12 – 4 and at the weekend’s the deal still goes on, but the wine is extra. Fabulous place, highly recommended, cant wait to go back.

My husband and I ate here for the first time ever amd won't be back. The menu looked nice online and the early bird seemed like a good deal. I had a look at their own website before booking and noticed that it said: If you mention Menupages you get a free glass of wine and profiteroles - so I bore this in mind. Our table was at the back of the restaurant with a walkway and the kitchen pass dividing us from the front area. This meant that upon arriving and leaving we had to squeeze through and past staff which was quite strange and uncomfortable. We felt like we were in the way. The food arrived quite quickly but it was bland and the portions were very small. When I asked about the free wine and profiteroles for mentioning menupages I was made to feel cheap by the waitresses reaction. She gave me a look and announced quite loudly that she would check to see if that deal still stood even though I had told her that I had literally just checked the website that very day. We got two small glasses of wine but the profiteroles never arrived. I certainly wasn't going to ask again. We left quite hungry and will never be back.

I have been to this restaurant a good number of times over the years for its variety, which is handy with a large group. The latest visit was last week. The service was fine initially but then dropped abit towards the end of my visit.I had to ask 2 people for my bill, which annoys me. Also this time i opted for The early bird menu.Garlic bread was literally nothing special, soggy white bread covered in cheese really. It had no crisp on it at all. Main, i opted for the Burrito, that was lovely and the house wine. Overall it was nice food as always but maybe standards have dropped a little from past visits, But i would recommend to friends

Came here for the lunch time deal. Had bruchetta to start with and chicken burrito for main. Both were very nice. Portion of bruschetta was slightly small but that's to be expected for the great value deal. Soft drink or glass of wine is included which is generous. Not michelin star food but came out full and satisfied and didn't feel ripped off! Would definitely recommend!

Sunday evening dinner here from the early bird menu. Quesilladas and Nachos Grande were very good. Chilli burger for main was excellent, as was the mushroom pasta. Desserts were also brilliant and a great tasting half bottle of wine

Came here for lunch as the €8.95 for 2 courses + a drink seemed far too good to be true! Not too busy which was nice as I only had an hour for lunch. There is not a huge choice of starter (how could there be really) but the Bruschetta was delicious. Fresh tomatoes chopped with basil and garlic, really tasty. Quite a large choice for the mains which you wouldn't expect at a very reasonable menu cost. I went for the chilli burger - messy but amazing!! The mains were just the right size aswell so you didn't slip into a food coma but still got good value for money. Definitely be going back here, there were a few other pasta dishes that I want to sample!

Ate here as I had a menupages voucher and I have to say I really did not enjoy my experience at all. Firstly on seating the server took my friends jacket to hang it but neglected to take mine. The service was unsmiling throughout. The staff spent the time talking amongst themselves up the stairs away from the dining area the customers seemed to be the last thing on their minds. For starters I had a chilli jacket potato which was fine except for the vast amount of kidney beans that were in the chilli. My friend had a starter of prawns which she enjoyed. For mains I ordered scampi and chips which were awful the scampi being burnt and dried up. The chips were tasteless. My companion declined a main and desert. I chose a strawberry cheesecake for desert which wasn't very nice at all. My drink needed a refill however by the time I was asked if I wanted another I had finished my main course. The atmosphere was alright nothing special. Based on todays visit I would not return here again.

I can't really fault this place for what we were looking for at lunchtime on a Saturday. We were seated quickly and served quickly & friendly throughout. We went for the €9.95 meal deal (starter, main & glass of wine/soft drink) Not much choice but not bad either. The starters of garlic bread and bruschetta were very tasty indeed. Small but enough to fill a hole. I had fish and chips for main. It was supposed to be cod but definitely wasn't. Having said that....it was the crispiest deep fried fish i've ever had, tartar sauce delicious and chips were average but all very pleasant. BF had a chicken enchilada with a side of guacamole (€1 extra). Although very delicious a bit sparse on the plate....would recommend to the restaurant to put a small side salad with it to balance the plate. My glass of red wine (waitress gave me a glass of water too which i didn't ask for but a nice touch) was very small but for a lunch all the proportions were just right. I'd go back to try the full menu....cheap, cheerful and tasty.

Was here last year and enjoyed my meal however was there few weeks ago and has gone down hill since then. We were seated at the door and of course the draght was very uncomfortable, moved table not to the liking of staff which I found somewhat rude Plenty of other places to eat and drink in Dublin with competivite prices these days but I was suprised at the differnce in what a year can make though.

I popped in here to avail of their early bird with a friend. We were seated in the front (even though there were plenty of seats out the back) but thanks to their big curtain across their main door there was no drafts :) I went for guacamole with nachos and my friend got their buscetta for starters. One would have been enough as the portions were very large. For main I had a veggie burrito which was just ok, really you could have made better at home. My friend had the lasagne which she said was great. The wine was the real bonus of this meal; we had a Malbec from Mendoza for 20euro.

Great value early bird menu with lots of choice for mains. Would have 3 courses but we needed to go to a show nearby. We were waiting a while on a friend but the staff didn't push us to hurry which was nice. I had bruscetta and a burger for mains. While my friends had pasta and prawns. We were all happy with the experience.

Went to Mexico To Rome with two friends on Thursday at 6.30. With no booking we were still seated immediately and menus arrived promptly. Drink orders were taken but when one of our friends were running late they didn't pressure up to order and just left us to peruse the menu. We went for the Early bird, great value at 13.95 for two courses and 14.95 for three courses, with a glass of wine for €3 it was a winner. There was lots to choose from in the main course section and we all has brushetta to start with lovely flavours and fresh tomoatoes. For mains I had the prawns and while I could have done with a few more the prawns themselves were tasty and full of flavour. My companions had the burger and pasta with no complaints either. All in all great value with lovely service and good food, would highly recommend for an evening in Temple Bar

I had the Early Bird in Mexico to Rome with 5 friends on wednesday. The food itself was fine but the meal was tainted by the attitude of the staff. After having a dour waitress serving us for themere hour we were there, on receiving the bill we had been overcharged for wine. When we informed the waitress instead a a quick apology and amending the bill, a full blown argument ensued whereby the manager and hostess insisted we had ordered wine we hadn't. We were mortified by their insistence, but knew the 6 of us couldn't have all got it wrong. If I get the urge to have moderate Mexican and Italian food in one night again, I would be more likely to fly between Rome and Mexico in one evening than I would be to return to that restaurant.

This place is an absolute hit. As the name implies the menu is a mixed selection of basic italian and mexican dishes. Lunch is a home-run altogether with a starter, main and glass of vino for under a tenner! Been loadsa times for good, informal, tasty food and will surely be back again before long!

This is one of the best restaurants in Dublin! The food is delicious, portion size is perfect, service is excellent, there is a lovely atmosphere and the value is excellent! I went here for lunch on Friday afternoon, it was such a nice lunch and we even stayed chatting for a long time after we finished and felt under no pressure to leave as is often the case in other restaurants. It was such a good experience that I had lunch there again on Saturday with some other friends and will definitly be going back very soon!

Came for Sunday lunch €8.95 deal for starter, main and glass of wine. Starters fairly basic with a choice of 3, mains are a bit more substantial. I had Mexican Chilli burger which came only with fries and was very tasty. No salad garnish however which would have complimented the burger and added some colour to the meal. Serviceable glass of red. Overall, nothing spectacular but at this price there is good value in the deal and I would go again.

Have been to this restaurant many times, especially for their early bird menu which is fantastic value. Visited most recently on New Year's day, this was one of few restaurants open in town that day. I had bruschetta to start followed by the funghi pasta with a side of french fries, with a glass of house red. There was a special offer on for 2 courses plus a glass of wine for something like €15, excellent value. My 2 friends also ordered from the special offer menu and we were all more than satisfied with our meals. Perfect place to go for a casual lunch or dinner for a great value meal.

First visit to the Mexico to Rome restaurant and I have to say what a little diamond in the rough. Service was excellent very quick for all courses, Food was amazing left with full bellies and big smiles, Location and atmosphere was good in the heart of temple bar so not far to walk to carry on the night. Not much I didn't like the best thing I can say is I will be going back. There January special 3 course meal for just €20 is a great idea in these hard times

I came here with my partner for the early bird which at 13.95 for two courses was amazing value. We shared the bruschetta and quesadilla to start both of which were quite tasty, I then had the steak with although not cooked perfectly was still quite good. Overall, very good experience and I would readily go back for another visit.

Wandered in there on a friday evening, didnt have a booking so we were told we'd have an hour for dinner.Which was absolutely no problem.I placed an order for rissoto which was 14.50 and a beer.My friend simply ordered a starter of deep fried brie,6.50 and a beer as he had eaten a big lunch. To my shock the waiter told us that there was a minimun order of 10 euros and asked us if we realised it was friday night!!!He told us that he would have to check if he could place the order.without answering us our drinks arrived. The food was dismal the brie was packaged brie and only five small nuggets.I had been expecting a lovely rissoto dish for that price but was very dissapointed,it was very bland with only a three pieces of mushrooms. The 'parmesan' which was really grated cheddar cheese arrived as I was half way through my meal. The food here is overpriced, not fresh and the staff leave alot to be desired.I will never step foot into this place again.

After managing to battle through the icy roads and foot paths we eat here on Saturday night just gone, our booking was for 8.30pm for 4 people, we arrived and were seated at a table for 6 and not sure why!! The staff were nice and friendly but it was a cold night and where we were sitting was in direct flow of the air conditioner, we asked if it could be turned off or at least down, but the waitress seemed to pass us off saying she thinks its broken and nothing they could do. A little later they did seem to lower the air flow but not so much as we were still cold. Our starters were all lovely we had the potato skins, bruschetta and chicken wings, all went down a treat and much enjoyed. Main courses were a little disappointing, the veal and the lamb although tasty were served plain and without any sauce or veg, the steak fajitas was loaded with onions. All in all it was a pleasant meal but not anything to write home about and I’m sure not one that will stay in my memory as good meals often do.

I have visited here about twice, the first time for lunch with my boyfriend and the second for dinner with a group of 15. the lunch was really nicely priced at 8.95 including a glass of wine and I had the goats cheese burger and brucetta while my BF had the cheeseburger and garlic bread. While the two starters were nothing to write home about, the burgers were nicely cooked and very filling. The service was a little spotty though. One server acted like were were just annoying him, while the other was nice but overly efficient to the point where we were wondering if she was a robot. (deposit plate here) The 2nd visit was very nice, we took advantage of the early bird special which offered a very wide selection. I must say I was really impressed by how much you could choose as most places only gives you beef, chicken and veg option. we ordered several items off the menus (there were 15 of us, how could we not!). Everything came out quite quickly and while it was nothing to write home about, it was nice. That said, all those who ordered steaks were not asked how they wanted them, and they all came out well done. They were still very tasty, but my friends were disappointed because they felt it could have been better medium rare. My meal was nice, a beef burrito, but when my friend ordered hers as spicy, it came covered in dried chillies and then became just too spicy. would have been nice to been able to control the application of chillies. as for the service, we were treated nicely, but it took several requests for a jug of water to appear, and our waiter seemed constantly confused. when I asked for a glass of red wine he asked me when I wanted it.... (it was Monday, I wanted it then and intravenously.) Overall, it was a good meal, ok service but an amazing value. With my free voucher for a free glass of wine and free dessert, the whole meal (mixed dips and beef burrito) came to 13.95€ a very good deal these days! I will visit again, but not rushing.

We chose to eat here because the menu looked good and varied, and they also had a few nice wines on the menu on the website. The wine list in the restaurant didn't have the nice wines listed on the website, and the wine we got was disappointing. Starters (ribs, chicken wings, dips & nachos) were ok, nothing special - cheese was a bit scarce on nachos. Two of the mains were good - fillet steak & burritos. The veal was tough and the sauce with it was 'slimey'. The fourth main was a disaster - 'fillet' steak was returned because it was well done instead of medium rare, the replacement was cooked right but was definitely not a fillet! At best, it was a poor sirloin - sent that back too. On the plus side, at least they left the uneaten steak off the bill, and they also gave us desserts on the house, which was nice. The service was good and polite, but because of the food, I wouldn't return.

Had the early bird of 2 courses for €14 which is good value.I had the nachos and guacamole for starters and my companion had the quesdilla. Both were delicious and large portions. We both had the veg buritto for main which is one of the best in Dublin.I've had this meal several times now over the last couple of years and am pleased to say the quality has not deteriorated at all in that time. The portions are huge and the flavour is superb. The burrito is full of veg and plenty of jalapenos, with extra jalapenos and a chilli on top if you want to increase the heat even more.Plenty of sour cream and refried beans on the side makes it a great meal and very good value. The only negative point I will make is that when I asked the waitress if there was any special offer for Menu Pages customers she said no! Their Menu Pages profile states that if you say you are a Menu Pages customer you get free profiteroles and a glass of wine. When I politely pressed her on this matter she stated that I needed to have a print out page from Menu Pages.I was disappointed by this response as I visited at the correct time and this was my first time asking for this offer despite having eaten here several times.I will be back however as the meal iself is good value and tasty.

This place is always busy, and for good reason. The early bird is amazing value, 13.95 for 2 courses, with a lot more choice than you'd normally find on an early bird. We had the tortillas and the fish cake to start, the salsa verde with the fish cake was fresh and unusual, the quesadillas very freah and tasty also. For our mains we chose Chilli con Carne, and the Gambas Pil Pil with garlic bread, both were well cooked, with plenty of spice and flavour, it was a huge portion of chilli, the portion size of the prawn dish could be larger, although it is exactly as described. Nice also to have a choice of half bottles of wine. We found the service very friendly quick and personal, felt a little hard done by that we couldn't avail of the free glass of wine and profiterole offer as we hadn't printed out a voucher from Menupages but everything else was so good we're only glad of an excuse to go back!

A friend and I went here for an early bird - we got '€11.95 2 course' offer from diningtreats.com. I had the bruschetta to start which was nice but a bit soggy in places unfortunately. My friend had the garlic bread which she enjoyed. I then had the chicken in mushroom and white wine sauce with side salad - I enjoyed this but too much dressing on the salad in my opinion so didn't finish it. My friend had a lasagne type dish with canneloni which she liked. We had a bottle of Sangre Torres which was very nice and brought the bill to €45. Overall, good value, atmosphere and service but would not be rushing back for the food.

A group of seven of us ate here on a thursday night where it was surprisingly busy. We were all impressed by the wide array of main courses available - there really is something for everyone. I don't think there was one complaint about the food or drink from anybody. Definitely a restaurant to visit - great value and fantastic food!

Went to Mexico to Rome with the boyfriend recently. Had one of the lunch specials. Prices aren't great for what you get. The food is nice enough, but completely unremarkable. The service was good though I have to say, a little bit slow but our waitress was very friendly and nice. All in all, it's alright, but not somewhere I'll be rushing back to

In spite of a decent menu, in the papers, MtR did not live up to standards. Both our mains- beef fajitas and chicken with ricotta & spinach- were ok dishes that we could have easily cooked ourselves at home, and it'd have tasted pretty much the same. Guess that is not what you are looking for when you go out for dinner.

My boyfriend and i eat here last night. I really liked there menu as there was a lot of nice dishes to choose from. We got a free glass of wine and profiteroles for mentioning menupages which was a nice touch. We both got the chicken with spinach and ricotta cheese which came with a baked potato. We really enjoyed chicken but the baked potato was black/ brown and slushy inside, it was just horrible! I don't know how they could serve that. Even though we didn't like the potato my boyfriend kept eating his and proceeded to eat mine too so we couldn't complain after they were eaten. for dessert i got the creme brule which was nice and he got the free profiteroles.

Went to Mexico to Rome last night & chose from the special menu - €21 for three courses. Food was excellent, meatballs and Salmon were particularly delicious. Generous portions and good quality food. Good atmosphere, there was a hen party there which were quite loud at times but did not affect our night overall. Will def be back!

A freind recommended Mexico to Rome so one monday evening two of us decided to try it out. I'm glad we did the food was glorious and the service fantastic. we skipped the starters and went for the lamb cutlets that were priced at 16.50, so cheap! They were cooked to perfection with a side of mashed potato that was also pretty delicious! The steak was also delicious with potato gratin on the side and a nice side salad. washed it all down with a lovely italian beer with views of the liffey. it has a nice decor inside but may be lacking atmosphere.

Went here for the early bird last week and enjoyed it. The food was tasty not very fancy but hearty. had the beef burrito, nachos etc. Only fault was that it was not very spicy although it had said on the menu that it would be. good place if you are on a budget and want a good sized dinner.

Went for the early bird with work collegues on a Friday evening, the food portions were smaller than expected but once we started to eat, the freshness and incredibly tasty food was delightful. The portions although initially looked small were perefectly sized, the flavours were superbly combined and among the 11 peolple who dined, there were no complaints, wine was good and value wise we would definitly return for more

Went here on Wednesday night for a romantic meal for two. Atmosphere etc. in this restaurant is really nice & it is a great 'date night' spot. Value for money was really good, particularly as we had a MenuPages voucher! However, the food and service were a little disappointing. I had nachos to start which were delish and then Tagliatetelle ai Gamberi for main. The tomato sauce with the pasta was sort of sweet & tasted almost like a stir-in sauce. Most disappointing was dessert - creme brulee with cinnamon. Creme brulee is my favourite & i love to see it on a menu. I don't know what came out, but it was not a brulee. The top was soft, not crunchy & the creme was lumpy. Also, it tasted of coconut, not cinnamon? It left a really poor last impression... The first impression wasn't great either - a slightly grumpy waitress who was clearly too busy to look after the entire section. I had heard great things, but sadly my own experience of this restaurant was disappointing.

This was my second visit here. We availed of the early bird menu on a Monday evening so we paid 13.95e for a starter + main course. I had the garlic mushrooms for starters which consisted of a huge bowl of mushrooms in a creamy sauce. The portion was far too big and while i usually like garlic mushrooms I felt that the dish was overpowered by the garlic. I physically wouldn’t have been able to finish the dish. The vegetable burrito was much nicer though. Overall the staff were friendly and efficient and we had a nice amount of privacy at our table.

Went to this restaurant on a Wednesday night, it is split in 2 parts and we were seated in the back part facing onto the quays. The front part faces onto Temple Bar. The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant. I ordered the prawns in chilli for starter and it was lovely and hot and quite spicy and for main course I had the Tagliatelle with Chicken/Mushroom in a white wine sauce with parmesan and that was lovely. Portion sizes were bang on. The dessert was profiteroles and cream and that was quite nice. I asked for ice cream which they don't have which I thought was odd but not a huge deal. I ordered tea with my dessert but this didn't come until after I had 90% of the dessert eaten. The downside for me was the level of service and while this was bearable when the restaurant was full it didn't improve as the restaurant emptied. There was one lady serving our section and she had a lot of tables to manage early on. When we arrived, we were not offered a drink until we asked for one after ordering our meal and it took a significant amount of time to attract the attention of the staff to order dessert after the main course plates were collected. The restaurant is lovely and overall it was good value for money.

Lovely restaurant! I really like the ambience here, and the staff are efficient, but don't hassle you too much either! The range of starters and main courses on the menu is really impressive, and I reckon there's something for everyone! I ordered the carbonara last time, and I did feel like the portion was quite small, and a little dry, but I've been here so many times and had a great experience, it didn't put me off!

Second visit for me here and decided not to get a starter due to experience of the size of the main courses! I had a burrito which sufficiently stuffed me but left room for dessert! Not too expensive with just the two courses and will be returning for both the food and the service

My wife and I were out in the city at the Saturday afternoon at the docklands maritime festival and after we decided to come here to eat as we’d been here before and liked it. This was the first time we were seated in the upper area, it’s comfortable. Just as we were about to sit we were informed that they needed the table back in two hours, this was not an issue for us on this occasion but I would prefer to be told this before being shown to my table, just in case I planned on staying longer. We went for the early bird menu. All of the food we had was very tasty; we have always enjoyed the food here. We mentioned menu pages last time we were here and received the menu pages special offer of a glass of wine and profiteroles. This time we mentioned menu pages and were told we couldn’t have the special offer because we didn’t have a voucher even though this website still says ‘Free glass of Wine and Profiteroles when you mention MenuPages’. So if you happen to be out for the night and want to avail of this offer make sure you run home first and print the voucher before going back out to have dinner. Also you should be aware that you will now be charged a service charge of 10% whether or not you receive good service. Btw service was ok but by my reckoning did not deserve a €2.90 tip. After coming to this restaurant many times over the years this is the first time we left feeling a little disappointed. With such a variety of excellent restaurants now giving great early bird offers this experience has moved M to R a good few steps down my list.

The lunch menu was very good value .There wasn't a whole lot to pick from from the starters but i really liked how the starter was small which didn't make me too full before the dinner. I really enjoyed the main course it was very tasty and it was just the right amount. Overall I thought the place was very good and would go there again.

Came here for lunch and was very disappointed. The lunch deal is very good value, 2 course & glass of wine for €8.50. The Bruschetta starter was tasty enough, it then took over 30 mins to get main course. My burger was a cheap one that I would say was precooked and then heated up, it was pink near to the surface but then not in the middle. Not the sign of a good quality burger. My friend's pasta was tasteless. We had to throw it into us to make it back to work in time. Service was very good however.

Went here last night and was delighted with the restuarant. We had a tapas experience with the early bird menu. Mushrooms in garlic sauce (tasty), steak with rocket salad, gratin patotoes and brie cheese. We had chicken wings aswell and brought some of them wrapped up home. We had a bottle of Rose wine all for €60. It was lovely having all them out together. Also, don't forget to mention Menupages for free glass of wine and Profiteroles each. Will definately be back

Was here midweek with 4 others, chosen because next door had a full house. I was never big into mexican or italian food to be honest and the food here did nothing to change my stance on this issue. Its simple dishes with various sauces mixed through like most other italian style eateries. Had meatballs starter (fine), steak fajitas main (fine). Not overly pricey considering its in temple bar, quality is fine but wouldnt blow you away. Would be fine for a quick sit down and chat with friends but not for a night out to dinner so to speak. Staff are very friendly and attentive. I always tip in restaurants but here they had a service charge automatically built in which i disagree with, if the service was poor you still get charged. Service was good though but its the principal.

Had early bird special with a large group from work. Atmosphere was nice but music played very low and bearly audible. Service was quite good to begin with however large time period between starter and main course and some mains came out about 10-15mins after other people got theirs. Didn't feel they could cope very well with a large group. Food was quite average and potato portions extremely small with main course. Was left hungry after main of salmon with potatoes and salad. However not the worst restaurant i've experienced. Previously eaten here with my partner and found the quality of food much better than this.

I went for the Early Bird here with 2 friends on a Friday evening. We booked our table for 6pm and were told that the table needed to be vacated by 8pm which was more than enough time for us! From the minute we walked in we felt as though we were completely rushed to finish up and get out! At one stage my starter was taken away from me when I wasnt even finished or looked finished for that matter!! The food was only alright, again felt as though it was rushed and just slopped together! All in all we could not have expected much more for an Early Bird for €13 I suppose but it was quite a disappointment when for a couple of euro's more we could have went somewhere else and received a much better deal!

Came here for the early bird menu, as my boyfriend wanted Italian but I wanted some Spanish/Mexican cuisine instead - handy for us this establishment serves both! Boyfriend had the Garlic Bread and Pasta, while I had the Gambas al Pil Pil. We had Prosecco to accompany our meal. My prawns were cooked to perfection with good balance of flavours. The boyfriend's Pasta was al dente. The location was very central and the atmosphere was very conducive for a table for 2. Service was prompt and efficient. All in all we had a great experience here and would definitely come back.

Came here for a birthday dinner last week. We decided to avail of the great value early-bird menu - 2 courses for 13.95. We arrived at 6.50pm so were just elligible for the deal. Starters of bruschetta, guacamole and fish cakes were all devoured in no time, the fish cakes being a particular hit with my sister! I opted for the salmon main, which comprised a massive fillet, more than I could finish, served with roasted cherry tomatoes, and baby potatoes. My only complaint was the potatoes were slightly under-cooked, other than that it was a delicious dish. my fellow diners ordered chicken dishes (burrito and mushroom sauce) and each were happy with their choice. Service was a little slow at times, but very friendly and efficient overall. Would definitely recommend the earlybird option, and would consider returning for the a la carte.

went here for the special lunch menu which includes a glass of wine, i was on my own but felt completely comfortable, this place has a good atmosphere and was packed with people, i had the mixed olives to start and the cannelloni, i love olives anyway and the cannelloni was lovely too, the free wine was quite palatable too. i felt so comfy there on my own that i had a second glass of wine, i would recommend this place and will be back again with my other half sometime, great value, great food, great atmosphere

Went here for a birthday dinner with my sister, was pretty crowded but we had booked ahead so we were seated quite quickly. I ordered the chicken burrito while she had the venison. The burrito itself was alright but when it arrived, it wasn't very hot and I was too hungry to complain so just ate away. My sister enjoyed the venison and we also availed of the free glass of wine offer which is a nice touch. The desserts were lovely also but my main course turned me off a bit so I won't rush back for the moment.

Went here for a pre Valentines meal to avoid the rush. Had the set menu, €21 for three courses so overall not bad value. Lovely atmosphere, although the music switched from romantic and relaxing one minute to very loud new age noise the next! I'd highly recommend the potatoes in bravas sauce, and the vegetarian fajitas were lovely and spicy. On a slightly negative note, I wasn't too impressed by how we were greeted and served- very abrupt and a bit rushed even thought the place wasn't that busy. Overall though a really nice meal, very good value and nice for a casual romantic night out

i went here last Sunday with my partner and got the early bird menu. it was only €14.00 each for a 2 course meal. the portions arent huge but you get what you pay for, just enough. it is in an ideal location to have a few drinks somewhere after and the service is very good. its nice to have the option of either mexican or italian. i would reccoment this place to anyone on a budget thats looking to go for a nice meal.

Go here for lunch frequently. Great value at €8.95 and new loyalty card is an extra incentive! large selection to choose from and alll very tasty. Service is prompt, ideal when you have an hour for lunch! Not as impressed for an evening meal, arrived at 7:30 so missed the early bird, turned out to be expensive enough, totally different staff to the lunch staff and I did not find them half as friendly. Food still very good but a little over priced for a la carte. If I miss the early bird again I will be heading for somewhere different next time!

I have been here 3 times in the last month, due to the amazing 8.95 for 2 courses lunch offer including a glass of wine which is well worth it. Add another euro, and you get a bottle of stella - can't complain! It's always busy when we are here, great location in the centre of Temple Bar. The food is good, wholesome food - don't expect fancy or expensive ingredients, just tasty and cheap. The Bar end of the restaurant is a bit cramped, and low ceiling doesn't help, but generally the darkened room and low music is fine. i agree with the other posts re service - they do tend to just leave you to it - but some of us like that. Think maybe service on entry could be better - nobody minds being left alone once they've ordered. Perhaps offering to explain some dishes for the tourists too. I'd definitely recommend it though, and i'll be back soon!

I ate here with two friends last week. I had been to Mexico to Rome before and thought it was nice so I was looking forward to another visit. However I have to say as a dining experience I would not recommend this restaurant and I don't think I would go back. The place was not very busy however we found the service extremely slow and inattentive. We ordered an extra side dish with one of our mains and they forgot about this dish. By the time we got their attention we had nearly finished our meal. The food was very average, I had a pasta dish and to be honest I'd make a nicer one myself and I'm no super chef! WE all found the food very bland and the choice on the menu is a bit limited. They don't even have many items on the menu for desert so we just didn't bother. All the same this place is not expensive so I guess you are getting what you pay for...just average food and average service and in a handy location for going out after a meal.

My boyfriend and I ate here yesterday after being convinced by the amazing value of the early bird poster outside - 2 coourse meal with a glass of wine for 8.95! This is without doubt the best-value recession-friendly menu I have come across yet. It was reasonably busy (surprised it wasn't heaving due to the price!). We were shown to a table but were waiting for over 5 minutes to be handed menus. I got the brushetta for starters, and burger and salad for mains. Both were delicious, as was the glass of white I opted for. The only thing the place loses points for really, was that the waiter wasn't that friendly...quite abrupt, no "thank you, goodbye" when leaving... But I wouldn't let that put me off, I'll be back for another lunch very soon :)

I went to "mexico to rome" last night, and it was a very good night. I had a tapas for starters, which was lamb meatballs in tomato sauce, and then i had enchiladas for the main course. Be prepared for the enchiladas, they can be a bit messy because you make them yourself, but you are always given fresh napkins and plenty of cutlery to cope. For desert I ordered the Torta chocolate cake. It was divine, I would go back just for that! The staff are very friendly, and the place itself has a nice atmosphere. The only problem I found was the lack of space between your chair and the one behind you. Other thatn that it was a great night.

I have to say my only complaint about this place is there is so much to choose from on the menu that ordering can be a prob but ill be returning lots of times so intend to sample all i can as going on the experience myself and my husband had here last week its all good we both had brusetta and buritos which were really good and good value, only down side we had to try hard to get anyones attention when we wanted anything -even the bill and i've still a bruise on my arm from where i hit off toilet roll holder in what has to be smallest toilets ever and i'm 5 ft tall and 7stone so unless ur tiny hold it till later.......

Can't praise the staff here enough-after pleading for a table with a lot of restaurants for a last minute booking I got through to Mexico to Rome and they took pity-they managed to squeeze us in although it wasn't actually a squeeze-we had a great meal at a very reasonable price and the atmosphere was great-a very busy night but service was excellent-for a recession busting meal in a handy location, and friendly staff- it's a must. Was never here before but will definitely go back

I wasnt expecting much from this restaurant given that it is in the tourist trap of Temple Bar, but we actually had a nice meal here. I had a linguine with white wine sauce and it was very tasty and my chocolate cake dessert was gorgeous.

we had the two course lunch meal with a glass of wine for only €8.95 and i have to say i didnt expect a gorgeous meal for that price but it was lovely!! I thought it was very tasty, the portions are small, but just the right amount so your not stuffed walking out the door!!! My partner enjoyed it too although his only complaint was that his fish 'was a bit anorexic' however the batter was delicious!! Will definately return here next time i'm in temple bar

One of my favourite spots in Temple Bar- 13.95 early bird is unbeatable. Love having a mexican starter and an Italian main, what a fusion! Great chicken dish here, smothered in mushroom sauce, can't remember the name...

I ate in here for the first time a ew weeks ago. Got the early bird menu for €13.95 for 2 dishes. The food was delicious. Had the fishcakes and chilli. So nice. The portions were very big. It is a little crammed in here though and the tables are very close together. I was a little disappointed that there was only 2 of us yet they applied a service charge to the bill. It was either 10% or 12.5% cant remember which. Besided that, i really emjoy this place.

I had previosuly been to the restaurant and had the early bird menu, the food was good and it was great value. I was left a bit disappointed this time. I had the brie to start, the breadcrumbs were very hard and I think it had been cooked in the over straight from the freezer! Sauce for my main chicken dish was bland and the chicken tasteless, my partner enjoyed his fajitas though and the staff are very friendly and provide good service.

Great value, horrible service. You can't beat €13.95 for two courses of decent food but the service was horrific. We had to ask to order the food, drinks and coffee and go up to the kitchen to ask for the bill.

I would highly recommend this place for the lovely food and the excellent value. There was a great selection on the early bird option, however I decided to go with the evening menu...which was super!! We were a party of four people and we equally enjoyed our meal..and in times of recession, this place is the place to eat!! 4 starters, 4 main courses (not early bird option) and 2 bottles of wine for EUR116.00! I'll be back!!

This place is great value, if slightly lacking in atmosphere. We had the early bird and everything was wonderfull. There is a good variety of dishes on the early bird menu and for €13.00 odd sure you can't go wrong. Love it. Will most definatly go back.

I wouldn't return here. Went with a friend who had booked the table in advance. However, on arrival, we were "greeted" rather abruptly by a man who I assume was management. He didn't even take our name. It was busy enough even for early evening. We were seated in front of the door, but we didn't ask to change because it wasn't cold(although this could be a problem in the depths of Winter!) We were served by 'management' and I wish he had been more welcoming- even when we ordered it was as if he was on auto-pilot. I'm not saying I want a red carpet rolled out, but it seems that some people open restaurants thinking it's all about the food and speed of service, when for me, friendliness comes first. I had the fishcake with salsa verde to start and my friend had ciabatta, which she enjoyed. I liked the fishcake and the avocado in the salsa verde, but I felt the dish needed a little spicy kick or even a wedge of lemon I could squeeze over it- the thin sliver which featured was more about presentation. I'd picked the veggie burrito because the early bird didn't have a lot of other options for me and I liked the sound of the refried beans & sour cream with it. My friend really liked her salmon. The burrito looked really good, but the taste wasn't really anything special. We didn't want to have coffee or dessert-didn't really feel like I wanted to linger. The bill came with service charge-a bugbear for me because I feel I should decide if I want to tip or not depending on the quality of the service. Later, my friend commented how she'd loved the food but thought the service left a lot to be desired in the friendliness department. I'd also agree with the reviewer who commented that the decor is, in reality, pretty bland. Oh, and if you do try to call the restaurant, don't expect to talk to a real, live human-it's one of those irritating automated jobs and then an answering machine, which really just sums up this place for me..lacking the human touch and lacklustre.

We got the early bird last night. I had Nachos and Salmon while my better half went for Feta salad and chicken Burrito. This was the first time I had eaten here in a while. And although the experience was pleasant, I think the food wasn't wasn't as good as previous visits. My girlfriend seemed to agree. Anyway, whether it was a bad night or not I will wait and see. I will return to this place in the future.

Went here on saturday for the lunch special for €8.95 and have to say you couldn't fault it - there was 4 in our party and I know the starters are limited but in fairness thought it was great value for money, we did order deserts - we sat there for nearly 2 hours was able to relax between servings place had a buzz about it. Will definitely be going back

While it was good value I will be in no hurry to return. We had the early bird which was delivered with such speed we had no time to relax and felt we were being rushed out. The fish cake was ok but to me tasted shop bought. The tomatoes on the bruchetta had been taken from the fridge and were very very cold. The spaghetti bolognese was fine but nothing exceptional. The service was fine and fast but could have been a lot friendlier.

Ate in here with my girlfriend on Saturday evening. As it was early Saturday evening we just walked in off the street and didn't have a booking. I went for the early bird and my girlfriend ordered from the a le carte menu. We both had nacho's to start and they were really tasty. I had the 4oz Rib Eye Steak with salad as my main. The steak was quite plain tasting and there was no real taste other than olive oil off the salad. My girlfriend had a vegetarian pasta dish which she thought was nice. The main problem was where we were sitting, which was right infront of the door, so everytime the door was opened we got blown out of it and it was a bit disruptive, with people waiting to be seated right by our table. I would go back again, I would just order something different as a main. Good value for money, overall.

I ate here with my boyfriend before a show in the Olympia. We opted for the early bird which is €13.95 for 2 courses. I also mentioned Menupages and got the glass of wine and free dessert as well so we got starter, main course, dessert and glass of wine for €13.95 each! Amazing value! I got the nachos grande for starters and my boyfriend got the fish cake. Both were very tasty, no complaints! I then had the beef burrito for mains. When it came out first I was a little disappointed as it was just 1 burrito with some refried beans but no rice or anything, But the burrito was stuffed full of beef and veg so was actually really filling! Boyfriend had chilli which he really enjoyed. We both had profiteroles for dessert, small portion but just nicely finished off the meal. Really enjoyed this place, atmosphere was buzzing, staff were very friendly. Will definitely return!

This has to be one of the best value eateries in Templebar! The starter and main early bird for €13.95 is great value considering the range of dishes in the selection. The atmosphere here was great, nice art on the walls. The service was fast considering the place was busy. I had the quesidilla to start and the gambas pil pil, both were very tasty. I choose tiramisu for dessert but it was a little flavourless, I also sampled the chocolate cake which was delicious. I plan on revisiting to try some of the other dishes.

A nice little restaurant, it can feel a bit cramped but our waitress was kind enough to move us to another table with more space. The early bird menu is good value and the variety of dishes makes for an interesting meal, I had nachos for my starter and canelloni for my main and enjoyed them both.

Went here last night for the early bird and i'm giving it top marks! €13.95 for starter and mains which were big portions! I had nachos to start which were plentiful and the carbonara which was nice and creamy if a little too salty. Also, thanks to menu pages, we got the free dessert and wine - wine was just ok but the profiteroles were lovely! The waitress was very efficient and even though it was really busy, asked did we want to wait a while between mains and dessert if we were a bit full! It's nothing fancy but if you want great service and value for money, this is your place!

I went on Sunday at eight pm with my partner and was suprised to see that we could still get the early bird for a price of €13.95 for a two course meal. This deal is available all week long. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly. Because it was the early bird I found our portion sizes to be quite small but this is to be expected for such an inexpensive meal. However taste was not compromised. We had brusetta and nachos grande to start and the prawns and beef burrito for mains and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It came to €50 and this included a bottle of wine. You couldn't get better value on a sunday evening in Temple Bar.

The early bird at this restaurant has to be the best value for money in Dublin. I visited here over the weekend as I had heard about the fantastic value for moeny the early bird is. They give you a choice of a starter, main course, desert and a glass of either red or white wine for €13.95 x 2 + service charge of 10% total for the two of us was €30.00. Staff were great and the atmosphere was also very good. Would highly recommnend.

Ate here for the first time this evening as I had been told about it by numerous people. I had the early bird for €13.95 which was a starter, main course, desert and a glass of wine. Execellent value for money, not to be missed. Service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was great. This early bird is one of the best value for money in Dublin and especially Temple Bar. Highly recommend.

I went here for a birthday party with a group of twenty. the menu is extensive and i found that i wanted loads of the startrs but had less choice for the mains. they all the basic mexican, spanish and italian dishes but not many extras. the food was good but not fantastic. However the portions were huge, for starter i had marinated seafood and it was lovely, and for main i had salmon. when i ordered the waitress asked did i want anything side order as none came with the salmon but i didnt want a huge meal so i said no. thakfully as my salmon consisted of three huge fillets. everyones portions at the table were huge. It was also very reasonable as the bill with lots of wine and cocktails only came to €55 and that included paying a share of the birthday girls meal.

Went for the early bird here because I had never been, but the food was not great. The portions were small and not very warm. The price is good but the food is definitely sub-par and not very exciting! Nobody really checked on us throughout the meal and we literally only had 1 minute between the courses. The starter came out 2 minutes after ordering, which itself is never a good sign as how can the food be cookeed in that time?! Price is good, but that's all that's good!

I had a grat meal here recently. I had the gambas for starters and the chilli con carne for main. I thought the portion sizes were adequate and the food is so tasty.I would definitely retirn.

I've eaten here a good few times and have always enjoyed it. Last week I went with a group of 6 friends for the Early Bird which is amazing value at only €13.95 for two courses. I opted for the quesidillas to start and they were delicious. I usually would go for a burrito for main course as they're very tasty but for a change I chose the prawns. They were nice but not as good as the burritos! The service was great, we weren't left waiting at all even though it was pretty busy that evening. As we booked through menupages.ie we also got a desert and a glass of wine free. If you're looking for simple, tasty food and great value then it's worth a visit!

Stumbled on this place by accident, when I was in Temple Bar and needed a late lunch. Their lunch deal is crazily-good. Food is good and good-value. Nice. Should be back there soon.

Visited here with a friend last night. We both ate off the early bird menu and we both ordered the bruscetta to start. It was really good. I had the pasta carbonara and she had the pasta fungi as a main. Both were heavy on the cream and the cheese so they were nice but not exactly the healthy option. We both agreed her glass of house white was nicer then my glass of rose proscetto which was good if a tad sour. An overall enjoyable and quick meal.

I went here for the much buzzed about lunch special today and quite enjoyed the meal. The list of mains was very varied, with about 20 choices, ranging from burgers, burritos to pastas and salads. I opted for brushetta which was served on garlic bread which was unusual i thought but turned out very tasty. My dining companion felt a little hard done by with his own small portion of garlic bread though. Chorizo cassolette (served with yet more garlic bread), recommended by our waiter was tasty and what seemed like a small portion actually turned out to be very hearty and filling. A chicken burrito for my friend was enjoyed greatly. Top it all of with an okay glass of red and €8.95 each turned out to be very good value for a big lunch with a very varied menu.

The price is good but the service and food are a bit sub-par. We found the garlic taste too strong in the bruschetta and left us with long after-taste even after we finished our lunch. Pollo ala Romana was okay, but salmon was a bit too sweet. Presentation of food could have been better, look like they were prepared in a hurry. We also regret to say we didn't really like the service, we wish our waiter could smile more and a bit nicer. The interior was not interesting, quite bland actually. It was better in the photos.

Myself and a friend had the lunch menu here. Appeared to be great value but in reality it wasn't that good. Portion sizes were quite small. Food - not great. Obviously the atmosphere was not great as it was an early lunch. Good service. Has the potential to be a lot better if it got the food sorted.

i booked a table here for myself and a friend, we went for the earlybird for €13.95 which was super value and we got the free glass of wine and free dessert my mentioning menupages, the place was buzzing and was packed, my friend had garlic bread for starter and i had the nachos, bith were very good and decent size portions. I had the chicken burritos which were very tasty but you only got one, my friend had pasta with mushroom which was also very tasty. This place is perfect for a tasty bite to eat and in a greta location smack bang in the middle of Temple bar. Keep up the good work.

I decided to visit Mexico to Rome on a quiet Saturday before we went to the cinema. We booked our table ahead and it was wise as the place was already very busy (Temple Bar, no surprise). As we were a bit earlier we have chosen their Early Bird menu - €13.95 for a starter and a main course – bargain!! I had a fish cake and fried prawns in olive oil, garlic & fresh chilli served with garlic bread, I also ordered a side of chips but I could not finish them. The food was served very quickly and it was tasty and well presented, the waitress was really friendly and looked after us very well. We were sitting on the back of the restaurant and before I didn’t realise that the place is so big! I enjoyed it a lot and for the price we paid it was a perfect spot if you just want something to eat in a nice place for very little. I will definitely come back soon.

Met friends here for dinner on Friday night. It was busy but the staff were really excellent. Food arrived quickly, It was nothing out of the ordinary and you get what you pay for. The portions were on the small side which meant sides had to be ordered if you wanted to be full. The food was tasty enough without much heed paid to presentation. I particularly liked the idea that you could see the staff cooking the food. Its good value for money but nothing special food wise.

went for the lunch meal for 8.95 euro. we were happy with the service. there was only 2 staffs working at that time, it was busy with the restaurant half full but the staffs were attentive & friendly. for the starters, it would have been better if they have more choices on the menu. we both went for brushetta, it was nice. for mains i had the salmon & my friend had the meatballs with rice. the servings looked small but it was just enough to fill our stomach. wine was a bit on dry side too but we have no complaints for the 8.95 euro we paid each.

group of nine of us ate here for the early bird, six adults and three children. The early bird was great value although the mexican options were much nicer than the italian options. everyone enjoyed their food and was happy with the choices on offer and the restaurant was packed for a Tuesday evening so nice buzz about the place. Our waitress was really, really nice and very good with the kids.

Went in here spur of the moment before a concert when we saw the early bird special. The three of us got the nachos for starter which were a generous size if a little bland. I had the chicken pasta for mains while my two friends had quesidillas. Both main courses were very tasty and althouth the service was a little slow i would recommend it for lunch.

Visited this restaurant yesterday for the 1st time.Found the €13.95 earlybird offer very reasonable so myself and 3 friends decided to give it a try. All 4 of us were extremely happy with the food.To start 3 of us had Nachos Grande. They were very tasty and the portion size was perfect for a starter.Another friend had the garlic mushrooms which also tasted very good. For the main course 3 of us had the chicken burrito and 1 had the rib eye steak. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would definitely go back again.Friendly service and value for money is a certainty.

Went to Mexico to Rome with some friends for the Early Bird Menu. There was great choice and the price was very reasonable. Could have got a bit more in the main on the early bird but it wasn't that much of an issue. Would definitely visit here again.

I love Mexico to Rome and have eaten here many times and the early bird special for €13.95 is great value with great choice. 2 of us had dinner here on Wednesday and had the 2 course for €13.95 as usual our food was lovely. There was a 10% service charge on the bill, is this new or have I just not noticed before? I did not leave a tip this time as I will not be forced to double tip. I really dislike establishments that do this as I like to leave my tip and know that the staff who looked after me get the tip, not the restaurant. I won't be returning to Mexico to Rome for this reason, it really angers when restaurants do this.

I went here with 2 friends for a late lunch. The quality and service of the food was defintely worth the €8.95 that we each paid for our lunch deal. It consisted of a starter, Main and glass of wine. Brilliant! There wasn't much choice with the starters but the mains made up for it as there was nearly 20 different dishes. I went for Garlic Bread for starters, very soft and lots of flavour. My mates went for the Bruschetta topped with Fresh tomatoes and they were very fresh and tasty. I also had the Mexican meatballs with Rice as a main, this was gorgeous with a nice spicy tomato sauce. The wine was easy on the pallet also. The staff in here were very attentative. The place wasn't very busy so we got very good customer services. I would defintely go back here for a nice recessiontastic lunch.

I really like this restaurant. I went there recently and ordered off their excellent early bird menu. I'd recommend their Funghi Al Aglio as a starter, the serving is huge and the taste it mind blowing. I'd definitely go back again to avail of their early bird menu, well worth every Cent spent.

I tried this restaurant after reading good menupages reviews. It was the worst meal I have had in a long time. I wasn't expecting it to be great considering we went for the cheap early bird but there wasn't anything to like about the food or service.

Not overly impressed. I went here yesterday with two friends and we tried out the €8.95 lunch menu. Choice of starter is slim: garlic bread, bruschetta, bowl of olives. We all went with the bread which was slightly burnt and greasy. Two of us got burgers (neither Mexican or Italian cuisine!) and one got mexican meatballs served with rice. That dish was slightly bland, burgers were standard. Not bad value all for that price, red wine was fairly decent. Wait staff were attentive. No major complaints.

Went here last night with a few friends to celebrate a friends birthday. We decided to go for the early bird and we not dispponted. The food the great. There was so much to choose from even though it was an early bird and the waiters were more than happy to answer any questions we had. While the main courses are not that big the starter is probably about the same size so they compliment each other perfectly. The service aws great really prompt and once we mentioned menupages we got a complimentary glass of wine. Even though it was starting to fill up and we were finished we were never made to feel in a hurry to get out. We decided to have some chocolate cake as well which is to die for. This place is definately worth a visit.

I have been here a few times but this time I wasnt too happy with it. The waitress was very rude. We were put in a table in the middle of the floor sitting beside each other as apposed to facing each other This was very awkward both when talking and for eating due to the lack of room. I had to move everytime the waitress wanted to get to the people on the inside. The food was ok I am beginning to think that all their food tastes the same! Got the choice of the early bird menu even though it was past 7pm which was good. Overall its average!

THE best early bird in the city, FACT! And I had such a good experience there that I would definitely come back anytime and would be more than happy to pay full price. The selection on the menu is huge for an early bird. I had the nachos (gorgeous) and the burrito (REALLY nice). They come out plain (i.e. no garnishes) but isn't that what you want? You get your money's worth and if you go with 20 quid there's plenty left over for wine! Staff very efficient and atmosphere created by a packed restaurant with everyone enjoying their food.

2 of us arrived without booking at aprox 5.30pm and were greeted without any fuss and seated at a nice big table. The waiter remembered our faces and welcomed us back. We mentioned menupages and he arrived back with 2 complimentary glasses of wine. We both had nachos grande for starters which remain our favourite starter here and we both had the spaghetti alla carbonara for main coarse which is to die for, it is so rich with flavours and really filling, so much so that we didnt have room for desert. I would highly recomend mexico to rome for great food, service and value for money.

I like this little restaurant in Temple Bar. Yes its full of tourists but the food is good and the portions are a nice size. Its good because they could probably rip people off being in such a central location. The managments manners arent the best but the others waiters are very helpful and friendly. We got the early bird and it was very good value for money but it would be better to go monday to thursday because you can get a free glass of wine and a free desert those days if you mention menupages. My only complaint was we had to ask for a wine cooler for our white wine, which was left out to warm up, and i hate seeing a manager popping out for a ciggie during service but besides that no other grievances.

Had earlybird here on a very busy Friday night. Booked for half 6& were told we'd have to leave by half 8. We thought this would be plenty of time but the service was quite slow so we were just finished by half 8. The food is quite nice. Not a great choice for veggies- one Italian& one Mexican maindish. They have also tried to squash in as many tables as possible so there's a fair amount of excuse mes and pushing when anybody tries to get in or out.

Went here with my partner on a Sunday evening. Very nice spot, they even do early bird on Sunday which is very unusual. We got our free glass of wine each when we mentioned Menupages. Wine was very nice & good size glasses of wine. Atmosphere good, place busy which is always good sign. I had garlic bread to start - it was ok - too much of it & not the tastiest. My partner had the nachos & they were delicious. I had cannelloni for mains which was ok but I'm not the biggest fan of pasta soaked in cheese so admittedly it wasn't the best choice of dish for me. That was my only gripe - early bird menu is limited enough. My partner had a pasta & sausage dish which he loved. We also got a free dessert when we mentioned Menupages - we were quite full so we shared a chocolate cake which was divine. I had a coffee and the whole bill came to 34 euro!!!!!! Unbelievable value. I will definitely be back & I'm dying to try out their other menus. Tapas would be good here.

I ate here with a group of 13 people total for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. The food was also lovely. The only bad thing I have to say about it were that the portions were a bit on the small side. I would like to go back and sample some more of the menu!

We were delighted to see that even though it was after 7 when we were in the restuarant the early bird menu was available all day, for 14 euro. And because we mentioned the menu pages we got a free glass of wine and a free dessert each. So the whole delicious meal cost only 30 euro! The food and price was great.

Went here on a midweek night in April. They seated two of us at a square table for four, a bit of a poor start. I'm not a huge fan of sitting at adjacent sides or corners of a table for four when only two are dining. Maybe they anticipated an order for fajitas to justify a need for extra workspace? I went Mexican, opting for the chicken burrito, while she chose to go Italian, ordering the Pasta Alfredo. Both our mains were delicious, we demolished everything bar the crockery. I asked for a hot chocolate when we finished dining. I was surprised when it arrived in a teapot. The waiter quickly corrected the mistake and all was well again. We weren't rushed to leave and the bill was a pleasant surprise when we called for it! Verdict: Outstanding value for money, great food, I'd let the minor slip-ups with seating management and tea instead of hot chocolate go. 4/5

Went here with two friends last night (Thursday) for the early bird. Got there about 6.30 and the place packed up really quickly. The word is out. Excellent value for money. The early bird includes starter and a main for €13.95 plus we mentioned menu pages and got a free dessert and a glass of wine. the house white was fairly descent. The meal was so filling and portion sizes were definitely value for money if not better, Be ware tho in case you only bring €13.95 with you to the restaurant there is a service charge. Only minor though less than €1.50 per person which wouldnt begrudge paying for excellent food. I had the fish cakes and chicken burrito and would definitely recommend.

Went here with a friend for the early bird as it looked like great value for money and had a really good choice. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. The portions were small and plain and my mushroom pasts was tasteless and uninspired. It left me thinking that spending a few extra € whould have bought me a much nicer meal in an Itilian restaurant.

Me and my brother ended in this restaurant a saturday afternoon after many hours sightseeing. Wery good athmosphere, great service, although they were very busy, they gave us a table inmediately. We were only 1 minute to 7pm, when the early bird promotion finishes, but they were very flexible and gave us the promotion. I would definitely go back to taste other of their delicious dishes.

I have eaten here a few times and really enjoy it. My boyfriend often works late, when he gets out of work early we always head out for a bite to eat and manage to end up here. Its a nice small and cosy restaurant, has great food for great value. I always select the nachos and chicken and mushroom as my main. The desserts do need a bit of work, having the profiteroles, the portion was quite small and was very cold, like it had been frozen. I will continue to dine here and skip dessert.

I really love this restaurant. It's not the first time I've been there, and it won't be the last! The lunch specials just cannot be beaten for cost, quality, and portion size. I've pretty much stuck to the Italian menu, though the Mexican dishes certainly look yummy! The bruschetta or fishcake starters are to die for. The main courses are always piping hot and very satisfying, I've never had a bad dish here. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the service is quick, and there is a nice atmosphere despite its small size. It definately pays to ask to be seated in the back section, away from the constantly opening front door.

Ideal for pre-show bite... We booked a table to get the early-bird special before a show at the Olympia. It's excellent value and the service was efficient

I went here for dinner a little while ago for dinner after work the place wasn't too busy so we didn't need a reservation. We were seated next to the door which they kept open so I had to put my jacket back on. The food was very nice and the service was good but next time I go I wouldn't accept that seat. This is a good place to visit for any occasion.

I've always wondered how Italian and Mexican food would work side by side on a menu with some Spanish Tapas thrown in for good measure and my answer, much like other reviewers, is surprisingly well! I finally got a chance to try out Mexico to Rome on a rather busy Thursday night in celebration of my birthday. After an unique walk through the open kitchen, we were seated in the back section facing the Quays. The tables were very close together and this helped contribute to the incredibly lively atmosphere. Whilst waiting for our meal we were close enough to strike up a conversation with our dining neighbours. So be warned, if you're looking for a quiet and secluded meal you've come to the wrong place! The food was top notch and obviously well prepared despite the restaurant being completely full on the night. My burrito was not only absolutely delicious but also very reasonably priced. On top of that, the wonderful diversity of the menu meant I could have Italian styles whilst still keeping it Mexican for my main course. Also the drinks on offer were equally varied and aplenty so everyone was kept happy. The staff also made the effort to 'check in' on our meal at various stages to make sure everything was okay. This is always a welcome addition to any dining experience. All in all, my experience at Mexico to Rome was an overwhelmingly good one and I'd well recommend the it to fans of both Mexican and Italian Cuisine. And don't be fooled by it's central location, the establishment is by no means a 'tourist restaurant'!

I really liked this restaurant. They got the simple things right. The food was tasty, the service was friendly and efficient and it didnt cost a bomb. The one thing that blotter the copy book was the service charge included for a meal for 2 people.

What I really love about this restaurant is the fact that it is really great for a group of people. The food is great, and everyone can order what they want chosing between mexican and italian food. What a simple but great idea. You can even mix the two if you are so inclined. We had a great night here, food was great and service was friendly.

My wife and I fancied a nice lunch but didn't have much in the way of spare cash flying around.... I give you 'Mexico to Rome'. This is not the first time that I have eaten in this nice, quiet little restaurant. The menu is fairly extensive but that is really not important. The reason to go is the lunch specials. For (I think) €8.50 you can pick up a lovely, large and totally satisfying main course and either a glass of wine or a big glass of soft drink. The food is well prepared, nicely presented, piping hot and quickly served. There is also a two course lunch special which is tremendous value as well. If you want a quick, hot tasty meal that will not set you back much more than the price of a sandwich in the Spar next door this is truly tough to beat. I've knocked off a few stars from the 'service' score on account of one waiter who was a bit too business-like. I enjoy a bit of friendly banter in a small cafe/restaurant and he was all about getting the plates out and back in again. This may actually be a plus point for some people; I prefer a slightly more human touch. This however is my ONLY gripe. Go there and give it a go.

I love this restauarnt. I have been there a few times with friends and we all loved it. A great selection on the menu and reasonably priced. I organised a work night out for 14 people there and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and everyone loved the food. They have good lunch specials too.

Had a meal here last Saturday before a show.. I got nachos for starters and they were lovely, my BF had the brushetta, I had carbonara for main and felt very full after it, I couldn't finish it!! The other half had a burrito which he enjoyed. The early bird special is exceptional value for €13.95. The only slight negative point we had was that it was a little too dark, I like to be able to see what im eating (being the fussy eater that I am!) Overall we both really enjoyed our meal (and wine!)

Ate here one thurs night after xmas shopping. It was really busy & they told us to come back in half an hour. When we returned we got a table at the back of the restaurant. Its a nice place to eat, very packed but not cramped. The service was good. The food was alright. The experience was fine but I wasnt overly impressed with anything & I dont think I would return for dinner.

I visited here yesterday with a friend. We went for the Early Bird which looked like a good deal. The Early Bird menu is fairly long with plenty of choice. I also quiet like like the combination of Mexican and Italian because everybody will find something to their taste. We both had bruschetta to start and burritos for mains. We both enjoyed our meals with no complaints. The service was friendly and efficient. This place is nothing spectacular but for the price it represents good value for money. I was surprised to find an unexpected service charge but, if I remember correctly, it was only 10% so thats not a big deal.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I organised a a meal for ten close friends here last Saturday for my Birthday, and I can not thank Andrew the manager and all his wonderful staff enough! They all made it the best birthday EVER! From making the reservation, which went from a table of 16, down to 12, down to 10, Andrew was so helpful! In this day and age of cutbacks and recessions, it's so lovely to see really great customer service in action! We were a lively bunch and the restaurant was packed, but when one of my friends dropped their fork, a waitor appeared at his elbow as if by magic, with a newly polished fork straight away! It was incredible! And so the amazing mind reading talents of the waiting staff continued throughout the night! The food was delicious, with a really tasty tapas menu, that catered for everyones tastes! And at the end of the meal a round of ten delicious shoots were passed out courtesy of Andrew as it was my birthday! I can not rate this restaurant highly enough, thank you again for a truelly memorable night!

This is a lovely place and the early bird runs until 7pm which is really good and this menu is quite extensive and compared to the regular menu there is great savings to be made. The food was delish and the service was really good, I went mid-week and the place was out the door always a good sign. Highly recommend Mexico to Rome.

very unusual combination - mexican & italian menu - however it does work quite well. I had the bruschetta and a maxican chicken dish, my friend had the carbonara, we equally enjoyed the meal. Only downfall about this place is that its very small and cramped.

We went in only by chance, the waiters were really nice and accommodated us although we did not have a reservation made for that night. The food was all right, portions were quite small, we both had the Tirimisui for dessert as the other option was only profiteroles, desert was not great only edible. The bill was just 60 euro, starter, main course, deserts and coffees which we thought was very reasonable, although we were hungry after a couple of hours after.

heard about this place a few yrs ago but always thought the concept of having both mexican food and italian food in the same restaurant was weird and coulnt possibly work! Anyway went here recently with a friend when I saw they had an early bird menu for 13.95 for starter and main course, very good value! The food was lovely! We both had bruscetta for starters, some people may find it too garlicky but that's exactly how I like it! I had chicken burrito for main and friend had cannelloni, both lovely, couldnt fault them really. Washed down with a glass of wine each (can buy half bottles of wine here). We were sitting downstairs by the window which I liked, quite small but cosy, not too cramped or anything. Would go back

Our booking wasn't on the list when we arrived, not a good start in a restaurant. We were fitted in though and had a lovely meal. Staff were attentive and polite, food was nicely cooked. I'd go back but only for a table for 4 people. The table for 2's seemed very cramped.

4 of us had a very nice meal in Mexico to Rome on Saturday night. I advise booking for a Saturday night as it was very busy and there was quite a long queue waiting for tables. I had the quesidillas for starter which were a little dry but still quite tasty. For main I also stuck with the Mexican and had a chicken burrito. It was fine - not really an authentic burrito but again it was tasty and I ate it all. I also got the side of rice which we all shared and was also very nice. My friends tried the tostada and the enchilada, and said they were delicious. Dessert choice is limited and I shared the profiteroles with my friend, if I had to choose again I wouldnt bother. We had several bottles of wine which delayed us at the table however the staff were charming and did not seem to mind us taking our time. They did ask us to move to a smaller table so they could accommodate other customers, but they requested very nicely and were incredibly polite. The manager also gave us a round of shots on the house as we were paying the very reasonable bill. I will definitely go back to Mexico to Rome and maybe try the Italian cuisine. This is a very nice restaurant, the staff are lovely and the food is fine.

I've been here twice now, and although the food is ok, its not somewhere I'd be rushing back to. Both times I've gone for the Mexican options, and although they have been nice, there's not much of a kick to the dishes as you woulf expect from Mexican cuisine. Having said that there is a nice atmosphere and staff have been friendly and efficient both times. You could do a lot worse.

I was there on a Sunday really early and the rest was totally empty. We were 3 and we ordered mexican for starter and italian for main course. The mexican food is not very mexican (I stomach appreciated that) and the Italian was really good. Being in the heart of Temple Bar I expected some tourist restaurant with small portions and bad service... but not, I was wrong. The portions are very well and the service was very professional. I'll repeat for sure! Good option!

I went back to try out some more great food & I wasn't disappointed. I had gorgeous sauteed mushrooms in a creamy sauce for started which was fab. My main course was the chicken in cream & white wine sauce which was also gorgeous. Did not have dessert was was full but if I was staying around dublin for the night, i would have stayed there & had my dessert & some wine.

Great value early bird. Cheap for Temple Bar and good for late lunch. Service is slightly neglectful to say the least and not due to staff being busy at the time. Food is good and at less than e15 for two courses can't complain.

Caught the early bird last night which at 13 Euro for two courses isn't bad value for temple bar. Food was tasty enough nothing special. The gambas was pretty disappointing though, small and pretty tasteless. I would probably stick to the Mexican if I went again. Service was fine except when waiting for the bill!

I recently dined in Mexico to Rome with some friends and certainly have no desire to repeat the experience! I chose the nachos with a guacamole dip to start and asked the waiter if I could swap the guacamole dip for salsa and sour cream but was told I couldn't (I think there was 10c in the difference in price!). For my main course I had chicken in a white wine and mushroom sauce with "side salad". I asked for a side order of portion to be told they don't do chips, just mashed potatoes! What restaurant doesn't have chips on the menu?! The main course was pathetic looking. Side salad is right - I was given a bowl of lettuce with a SLICE of tomato and cucumber hidden somewhere within. The chicken looked as though it had been beaten to a pulp as it was no thicker than a slice of ham! As I was still starving I ordered dessert (of which there were 3 to choose from). I asked for the apple pie but asked to have ice cream instead of fresh cream and was told they didn't do ice cream. I started to think that maybe I was being set up! The waiting staff were indifferent in the main apart from one waitress who was very friendly and professional. Very disappointing in every way but, thankfully, the Elvis Presley Show in the Olympia afterwards more than made up for it!!!

Disappointing Overall. Was here last Saturday evening and was not impressed with the food. I had the Mushrooms for starters which were nice, but not something you would rave about. For mains I had Fajitas which were very poor. The platter was sizzling, but the chicken pieces were just too smothered in sauce so, it was really like having some sort of Spanish stew. They also didn't serve any salad, or cheese, which I thought unusual. Their salsa was very plain and very processed tasting. On a positive note, I found the service very good. I Asked to sit at a different table(I was initially put right in front of the door) and was accommodated even though the place was busy. The waiter we had gave us a complimentary shot of 'sex on the beach', and was generally really friendly attentive through out. It's the sort of place I might pop into for a bite to eat if I was in a rush, but I wouldn't come back for a meal of any significance

Went there with my fiancee for a dinner. Had sea food and tortellini. The meals were really nice and not bad value. The restaurant was really busy and it was quite early. I'm not sure if we will come back as we prefer quieter places for a nice conversation - not feeling the pressure just eat and leave.

I ate here for the first time yesterday. On first impression,I was greeted with a cute, bustling eaterie.I ordered from the lunch menu and found it a tough decision as there was a really good selection! Eventually I opted for the Mexican chicken burrioto. Costing good value at €9 including a glass of wine/soft drink. The burrito itself was delicious,my only complaint being the lack of side accompanient. I felt hungry again after a few hours and think the dish would benefit greatly if served with a side salad or fries.Other than that I liked the atmosphere and did'nt feel rushed by our waiter at any point. My companions seemed to agree and I hope to return again.

I had heard mixed reviews about this place but on a recent girlie night out on a Saturday night we tried here. I was well impressed, it was very busy but we got a table with no reservation. Service was excellent, food was gorgeous and extremely good value. All in all it was a good choice, good cocktails, good selection on the menu and good atmosphere. We weren't rushed at all even though there was alot of passing trade looking for tables.

I loved this restaurant!! I came here with a gang of girls a few months ago and had a great night. The food was delicious, huge portions and even though there was a Q out the door for tables, they didn't rush us and allowed us to continue ordering drinks. Fabulous cocktails! Great for a girly night out.

Every time I visit the capital it is my tradition to visit Mexico to Rome in temple bar and have been doing so for some time. The place itself is very trendy and buzzing with atmosphere and a welcome treat either after a long days work or shopping. I was there last Friday night with friends, our waiter was very cute and willing to please. we were seated almost straight away, although the place was busy. The food as always was fantastic, prices very reasonable too. perfect for couples or a girls night out.

This is perfect if you are looking for something tasty before a night-out/show in town. The food reflects the price range. The service was excellent. However, the restaurant is a bit cramped so if you are looking for a relaxed evening, this would not suit.

Thought this place was very mediocre. Food felt like it had been pre-cooked. Had Early Bird. Both courses very average.Service ok but nothing great. This place only does well because of location. If it wasn't in Temple Bar and reasonably cheap it would struggle.

Was part of a group eating here on Friday night for a friends birthday. The restaurant was very cramped, and we were placed at tables against the window (in the rear), but as the tables went from one wall to the other it was very difficult for those on the inside to get out, tables had to be moved, etc... Anyway on to the food, I had the calamari to start and it wasn't bad, but the portion was very small, with lots of lettuce, and a little dipping sauce. The main course of Chili Con Carne was very mild for me, and there was no option for a hotter version, very strange for a Mexican restaurant. A couple of the people had the chorizo starter which was excellent. Thankfully the wine was flowing and we had a good time. Finished with coffees which took ages. Overall the bill was expensive, and the experience less than satisfying. I would suggest that they pick either Italian or Mexican food, and concentrate on mastering one cuisine!

I had the most amazing food here... it was a while ago though but I presume they haven't changed chef! I got a burrito type wrap and it was divine from start to finish. It was well worth every cent. The only thing was the space...the restaurant is very cramped and its hard to have a private convo as you can here all the conversations around you.

Quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant, upon entering, the waiter setting a table just inside the door decided to try and avoid making eye contact in case he would have to seat us eventually after a few minutes and he had finished fiddling with the table he came over and brought us through to our seats. When we sat he went to fetch the menu's which he left on the table, the menu's left where 2 wine menu's and 1 food menu, for 2 people, looking good so far. Now I know people make mistakes but this guy was just totally uninterested. At this stage I should have trusted my instincts and left but I didn't, how I regretted it. The food was poor at best, the decor of the restaurant was poor and the service was... well, at least in McDonald's you will get a smile.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Lovely waitress and even lovelier food! Early bird is great value. The idea of having Mexican and Italian food in the same place is something of a heaven for me! I'll definitely be back!

Came here to have dinner with my gal-fren in May. I must say the food is good, service is not bad but portions are really small.. If only there were more! :) The place is quite small or perhaps there aren't enough tables. But it is worth a visit! I had prawns, and enjoyed it.

We arrived here about 6.30 on a Saturday evening and although it was fairly busy we were seated straight away. We had the early bird menu which had a good choice and was terrific value for money. Although the portions weren't huge the food was delicious and we had no complaints.

Had the early bird here and it was amazing. Nachos with chili for starters and these were gorgeous. Then I had the chicken burrito which was also very good. The place was packed too, which is always a good sign. I'll definitely come back.

The restaurant was packed but at 14 euro a head for a very nice early bird what can you expect! I had the crab cake and the prawns, while tasty there was a definite taste of more from it, I enjoyed the meal but there wasn't much atmosphere but it was quite early.

I went on Thursday evening after work. There were 2 of us and we took the early bird menu which was excellent value at €13.50. There is a decent choice on this menu. I went for Nachos and then a burrito. Both were decent without being spectacular. Portions were adequate, I wasn't stuffed after the meal.

Found this restaurant while walking through Temple Bar and found the idea of a mix of both Mexican and Italian food interesting. However first impressions were not good as we waited by the door to be seated while two waiters stood by having a chat and seemed annoyed that we were interrupting! We didn’t have a reservation but as there were several empty tables we would have thought they would be glad of the custom. The food did not fare much better than the service. I ordered from the Mexican side of the menu while my friend opted for Italian. We both found the food bland and unexciting and opted to have dessert elsewhere. Perhaps instead of attempting two cuisines they should first try to master one. Will not be returning.

I really enjoyed this restaurant, and everything is fairly priced. We started with a plate of nachos to share. Nothing too spicy, with a slightly tangy cheese sauce on the side. Then some chicken fajitas which were still sizzling when we were served. Very romantic restaurant but probably not the place to take young children!

Had dinner with my friend on a week day. Both of us tried the gambas Pilpil which is highly recommended as a Chef's special. Portions looked scanty!! Alas, King prawns are dear. The dish itself was tasty having been drenched with oil. All in all, I wanted to try a new place. However it didn't score high points..

Excellent Early Bird menu, and the best value of this menu type I've seen in a long time. I had the fishcake to start and salmon with lemon butter sauce for main course. I really enjoyed the food. We shared a plate of nachos which I thought were a bit poor to be honest. I had a glass of house red wine, which was very nice as house wines go. The service was very good, friendly and efficient. The decor is very nice, modern but cosy. The toilets are obviously cleaned regularly, which I always take note of. We will definitely return to try more dishes.

Good place for early bird menu. Was there with my husband & both of us enjoyed the meal. Had the fish cake & nacho as starter. Main courses were prawn & pasta. All of them were lovely. Also, the waiter & waitress were very friendly. We will go back again to try other dishes next time.

All in all, not a bad spot. The service was friendly. We had ordered a table for 8 & arrived on time. The place was pretty full and when we finally got our table we were given 2 tables to squeeze around which was pretty cramped and so one of us was almost sitting in the entrance. The food was ok, nothing to rave about but the cocktails made up for that which was lacking. Not the cheapest if you want any of the meat dishes as you still need to add on the sides.

I had been wanting to try this place for ages, a fusion of two beautiful cuisines. The prices were fine for my budget and the restaurant had a buzz about it and staff were friendly. That's all very well, but I really didn't like the food. That seemed to be the general consensus amongst the group, bland and badly made classic recipes. The chilli was so so mild it hardly seemed like chilli at all, and the jalapenos were lacking in any flavour whatsoever. The starter of guacamole was decent enough, but it was just a splodge of the stuff on a plate with a few shop-bought tacos surrounding it. So disappointing!

Went here after work with few friends. Got a table handy enough even though it was quite busy. Three of us used the early bird menu and there was great choice and value for money! The food was gorgeous, one of the others did not use the early bird but was still good value! Would definitely recommend it, nice spot with friendly staff and lovely food cheap and cheerful! I am returning with few different friends next week! Good spot!

I went to this restaurant last night with a friend. I booked the table through menupages and it worked out great. The restaurant was busy but our table was waiting when we arrived. We both ordered off the early bird menu which I found to be excellent value at €13.95 for 2 courses. Large portions and the food was delicious. We ordered both Mexican and Italian and both were excellent. The house white wine was delicious also!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant

This restaurant is great to start off your night. Food is really nice and the portion sizes are just right. The chicken burritos are delicious. The place itself is a bit cramped and we had to walk through the kitchen to get to our table which i thought was a bit strange! If you are lucky enough to get a seat near the window there is a nice view of the liffey. great for a night out with friends but i wouldn't recommend it for a romantic meal for 2. Food is great and reasonably priced!!!

Been here a few times for lunch, usually order off the early bird menu as there's a much better selection than the lunch menu without it costing an arm and a leg. The pasta portions are always huge and you can't help but finish off every bite even though you know you shouldn't. Had nachos and carbonara off the early bird menu. My only fault would be that they used tortilla chips with a cheese flavour for the nachos which took away from the taste of the dish, grated cheese on top would have been much better. The waiter that is on during the day couldn't be friendlier. Would definitely recommend.

I went to Mexico to Rome for the early bird menu.Didn't think it was great value for money unless you had a pasta dish as the meat dishes came with a very small portion of rice or potatoes. In terms of the quality of the food it was good value but I wasn't full when I left which was very unsatisfying. The staff were really friendly though.

13 of us had dinner in Mexico to Rome on Friday night. I had eaten there previously and wasn't overly impressed but was very pleasently surprised to see that things have really improved there. The restaurant has had a make over making it a much cosier atmosphere than before. Food was good quality and the service was excellent. Price wise very reasonable as well. Only negative thing was that we were a tiny bit squeezed in at the back of the restaurant but half expected that this would be the case as its quite small inside.

I've come here a few times because I've always gotten a seat usually. The food is delicious but especially the Profiteroles, come just for those at times. The first time I came, I got Gambas pil pil, looked small when it came but perfectly sized after you've eaten because they are filling!! Some of the waiters are very very good and then others aren't but the hostess is very friendly and welcoming!

I had lunch here saturday and I just love their lunch menu it is so reasonable. I had nachos with guacamole to start which were fine for nachos. Then I had the beef burrito which was very good, it was huge but just enough for lunch full of kidney beans which I like. I have been here a few times for lunch it is my favorite place in town for an early bite will definitely be going back.

I took an overnight shopping trip to Dublin last weekend with my boyfriend and I booked a meal here in advance so we wouldn't have to succumb to awful hotel food! I thought it was fantastic! The menu was excellent, the portions were plentiful, and the service was great. The place was absolutely packed too, which is always a good sign. 10/10 I'll most definitely book this place every time I go to Dublin from now on.

We had the early bird in here on Saturday after seeing a matinee in the Olympia. 2 courses for €13.95. Not bad at all. The food was good, not amazing but not terrible. But very good for €13.95! The guacamole appetizer was not the best I had a little bit too spicy. I had the Burrito for my main, again it was not the best I have had, just ok. We found the food to be overly spicy, but the service was good and we like the fact it overlooked the River Liffey.

Food is not great, reasonably priced given the location. Ok for lunch but not a meal with family or a partner. They SERIOUSLY need to sort out the seating - not intimate at all as people are sitting on top of each other, shouting - trying to have a conversation. At the end of the meal all you want to do is get out!! Oh, and when it's busy, you have to stand on the street waiting for a seat...

They really need to do something about their seating arrangements. Everyones on top of each other and continuously having to move to let other customers sit down or get up. The food is alright, nothing to shout about and the atmosphere was just bland. We sat near the back of the restaurant but it looked like there was more of an atmosphere near the front. Okay restaurant for quick food, but not somewhere i would like to spend an evening.

Nice little place, had the early bird special so was good value for money, €13.95 for a starter and main meal. So with starters, meals, deserts & 4 drinks came to €64. Very good value. My boyfriend has quesidillas to start and I had nacho and then he had prawn pil pil and I had Carbonara. Prawns were a bit small for a main course (and a man!) but were lovely none the less. Excellent service, really prompt without being intrusive. Would definitely go again!

Lots of variety, with Mexican & Italian tastes all rolled into one menu. Dined here with family & we all ordered something different from the menu. I had the Quesidillas, which were tasty & filling. Everyone at my table was happy with their food. Quite a busy little place, with tables everywhere. Good value too.

Nice restaurant. Tasty food and they do a really good early bird too. It always seems to be packed which I think is a good sign but then it's usually tourists so I don't know if that's good or bad. The Italian food is nice and the Mexican starters but I once had the Vegetable burrito which was extremely spicy and I wasn't given any guacamole or Sour Cream to cool it down which I thought wasn't very Mexicany!?!?! Otherwise, it's a grand place to go!

The dining room is cramped (espeically at weekends) and the food is a bit over-priced. Combining Italian and Mexican may have been too much of a challenge for the kitchen with neither style being particularly well executed. Bland, pricey, with dessert being it's only redeeming factor.

Had the early bird menu, was really nice. Bruschetta was just perfect, not too garlicy. Penne fungi was lovely, bit on the small side though. Very, very nice waitress. Definitely book as it was quite busy! Second time eating here - was just as good only the table wasnt the best. All the people kept brushing off my friend as they walked by so eventually we had to ask to move

Have been here three times in total. It was my favourite restaurant as the fajitas were amazing but the second time I went we were rushed and I found a chicken bone in my prawn fajitas! I showed it to the waiter and he just brushed off some excuse and gave us free tea n coffee. (Shouldn’t have paid for fajita). Even after that I went again and got the early bird menu - but I did notice it was quite dirty around the plug sockets beside my table and on the skirting boards. Don't think I'll be going again after my experiences. But did love the atmosphere and food - what a shame!

I went for dinner here once for my friend's birthday. It was nothing special but an enjoyable dinner was had by all and we all left satisfied customers.

Busy restaurant, very cosy and good food. Nice mix of Italian and Mexican. Recommended for a fun night out. Good location in the heart of Temple Bar. Service was good and not rushed. Wine recommended was good and complemented the food. If you like Mexican, this restaurant offers a good choice. Our seats were above the kitchen so you could catch a glimpse of the cooking methods. Overall it was good.

Have been here several times and really enjoyed it. The food is good, if sometimes a little bland. The service is great, and it's all quite reasonably priced too. Two starters, two mains, one dessert and a bottle of wine is about €60, which is amazing! Also the early bird menu is great too, if you're heading to a show or anything near by. The place is usually quite busy at peak times, but they will always accommodate you as best they can!

Came here with a visiting older brother and had a very good meal with very good service. It may have only been the early bird menu, but it was hot, tasty, well presented. This is the 3rd time I have eaten here in 4 months and as usual the quality and value was good.

The portion size has decreased in the past few months. Also the food seems to be a bit more rushed. However, it’s reasonably priced and good for a small meal when you're not too hungry. Plus, Starbucks is close by for a good coffee and dessert!

This is a great restaurant to go to with friends as no matter how picky they are (and there’s always one!) this place has such a variety to choose from that they will find something they like. The service is good and the food is delicious.

I was very impressed with this restaurant. They have two menus, one for Mexican Food and one for Italian. Offers great choice as you can mix and match. The food was authentic and very good. The service was good but the Atmosphere wasn't great purely because people were constantly coming in looking for a table (A good sign!!). One thing that caught a friend of mine out was that all the dishes come without side orders, and they don't do chips and only have 1 type of potato, 1 type of veg and salad as sides, not a great selection. Overall, the food prevailed and I can highly recommend this place.

Went for the Early bird, so can only comment on that, as opposed to the full menu. Between a table of 3 we had salad, crab cake and garlic bread for starters, and salmon, fajitas and prawns in chilli and garlic oil for mains. The food itself, while not fabulous, was certainly edible, and although portions were extremely small, I guess for 13.95 a head, that is to be expected. Service was pleasant but rushed. This is a perfectly adequate restaurant if you fancy a quick cheap bite, but don't expect any more than that.

Booked a table for three here for the early bird menu and was very disappointed with the table we were given. We were stuck in between two larger parties and we did not have room to move. The food we got was lovely but the portions were very small. We were all still hungry after three portions each!

Was here with my boyfriend and two of our friends and have to say was very surprised. We choose this place purely because two of us love Italian while the other two love Mexican. We had an amazing time and did not notice the time fly by. The food was amazing and the portions were not overly huge but managable. Can't wait to go back here!!!!

I was so disappointed with this place. The food was awful, I had beef fajita and I actually saw them heating it up in the microwave. Not only was the food terrible but it was way overpriced.

Was here once with a friend and vowed never to go back. Nothing stood out about the meal, apart from the fact the food was bland, dry and not worth paying for. Maybe we got them on a bad night, but I won't be going back to find out.

Myself and two friends dined here yesterday evening, I had been looking forward to eating here for so long but I hate to say I was very disappointed. We got the early bird menu and the main courses were tiny! I was not satisfied at all so got a dessert simply to fill me, which wasn't great either, maybe their normal menu give more generous portions? My advice would be to steer clear if it’s a good feed your looking for!

Ate in Mexico to Rome last night with 8 other girlfriends. We all chose the Early Bird option which we thought was great value at €13.95. I had Bruschetta for starters which was very nice and I had the Beef Buritos for mains, which basically contained a flour tortilla, beef and Mexican sauce with salsa on top, a few vegetables would have gone down nicely with it!!!! As it arrived on its own I asked for a side portion of chips only to be told that they didn't do chips only mashed potato!!!!!!!!!!!!! A Mexican/Italian restaurant with no chips but mashed potato instead - I think enough said!!

Myself and my husband ate there on St Patrick’s Day. We went for the early Bird option, starter and main course for €13.95. I had the crab cake but it needed a nice salsa to go with it, my husband had the nachos' so you can’t go wrong there. We both had the beef burrito for mains and it was tasty but not what anyone in Mexico would call a burrito. Wine list was very limited and expensive. The service was very fast, too fast maybe. All in all it was good but wouldn’t rush back.

I just LOVE this place!! When anyone suggests a cheap but good dinner I always suggest Mexico to Rome. The food is fantastic and I love that you can mix and match as well, I would highly recommend the nachos for starter and the Carbonara for main. As long as the service, food and prices stay the same I will keep coming back for more!

Possibly my worst dining experience to date. The waiter was rude and spent more time chatting up his co-worker than looking after customers. The food took an hour to arrive (or not as the case was). They forgot to cook my starter and so it never arrived. There main was cold and had to be sent back and the dessert menu was limited to say the least. No apology was given and no compensation for my missing starter. The salad my fellow diner received had an unexpected protein boost, as three green flies where counted lurking among the salad leaves.

Mexico to Rome is a brilliant fusion of two different worlds. One of us tried the Italian and the other took the Mexican route. The bruschetta and nachos for starters were amazing, one of the nicest bruschetta I've had so far. Our main courses were equally delicious. Unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert, but with attentive staff and quick service we will be back again.

Definitely worth a visit I went to this restaurant one Saturday nite with my friends with no reservation. The atmosphere was lively at the door so we decided we liked the feel of the place before we sat down. We were not queuing for long and the manager seemed very efficient in ensuring we got a table fast. Sitting at the front we were able to take in the lively atmosphere of temple bar. I had the nachos and Mexican beef burritos, the combo of chilli and cheese was superb, my friends tried the meatballs and fajitas. Everyone agreed the food was really scrumptious and the service was a welcome change from rude staff often encountered in temple bar. The prices were very reasonable and everyone agreed it was the perfect dining experience before a night out.

Another Temple Bar fixture, this restaurants offers a nice varied menu of dishes from around the world, but suffers the fate of every other Temple Bar restaurant - overcrowding! There is a constant flow of people in and out the door. Otherwise the food is for the most part good and at a reasonable price. It serves its purpose and is a grand place for a bite.

Booked a week in advance and still seven of us were squeezed into a table to seat five. Waitress was rude and I felt the food was very bad value for money. We were still hungry when we were leaving (portions very small and quite tasteless). Would not recommend this place at all. There are too many good restaurants in this area for them to think they can get away with this kind of bad quality.

I was in Mexico to Rome on Saturday night.... didn’t book. It was mad busy.... got a table after 5 mins...the staff fly around the place, but looked after us really well and chatted and laughed with us. We both had nachos dips and fajitas and beers...service is fast.... and the food is really cheap...e60...no sitting around waiting forever, its what I like...in and out!! Its not a posh place...its easy going. Great place to going before going out. Defo going back again.

I found the service to be very poor in this restaurant. We were left standing at the door for ten minutes before we were even approached although the waitress made it quite clear she had seen us. We then had to wait a further fifteen minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. The food was mediocre, certainly nothing out of the ordinary and I would not return again.

Three of us had the early bird there last week, it has now gone up to €13.95. I had the crab cakes to start and a fish salad for mains. The crab cake was great but wasn’t mad the fish salad. We managed to sit on the Liffey side which is nicer and not so cramped. The girls had burritos for mains and there wasn’t a lot to them for the price that we paid. Also they added service charge to the bill which I believed was need necessary as there were only 3 of us and it was the early bird. The staff were nice to us, I wouldn’t be rushing back but if some else suggested it I would have no problem going.

Enjoyed the food in this restaurant, had the Mexican Steak which was gorgeous, my friends had the Burritos, which also got the thumbs up. We had to wait about 30mins for our table despite making a reservation, which was disappointing. Nice restaurant but a bit squashy!

Hmmm, a bit disappointing. The food shows very little authentic Mexican knowledge, I get the impression this is just an Italian dressed up. Nachos were mediocre and overpriced for what you got; service was average; the Italian dishes on the whole are quiet nice though, as is the view of the Quays when sitting at the back of the restaurant.
