Went here for the first time as a result of friends recommending the place. Not very well advertised but followed google maps till we found it. Place was packed with a queue out the door. When we got our food, we figured out why. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. The staff are more than happy to adjust the menu to suit and were very efficient. Perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon.

I've eaten here a few times and it has never disappointed. I was here for an extended brunch on Saturday. I had the eggs benedict but watched as people either side had the huevos rancheros - definitley opting for those next time. Not that my eggs benedict were not perfect, they absolutley were. He had the scrambled eggs and wild mushrooms - both dishes served on doorstop sized slices of chunky bread. He also had the quesedillas (we might have been sporting hangovers that required extra food) and these came with one of the best tasting guacamole sides I've tasted, I could have eaten a bowl of it by its self. My only complaint was that as we were by the door, it was a bit draughty from time to time, but I'd eat this food out on the street, standing up and wtih no cutlery - I love it that much.

I've eaten in Lennox many many times and have always had a very good experience. I went yesterday with a colleague for a 'meeting' (any excuse) and sampled the special, lamb patties with sweet potato wedges which was really lovely. The lunch menu is varied and includes a delicious crab salad and one of the best chicken caesar's around as well as an excellent burger, quesadilla and club sandwich. They also do an excellent brunch and lovely cakes. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent little restaurant for lunch off the beaten track around the corner from Camden Street, visited on a busy wednesday phone ahead would be the recommendation. We just about got a table as they have an upstairs area as well. I had the parma ham salad with brown bread which was delicious and very generous portion my colleague opted for the burger which again was very good and came with homemade hand cut chips and onion rings. Top notch food and service def will be back!

Popped in for Lunch as I had heard a lot of good reports about the Lennox. I opted for the Steak Sandwich (the special), which was delicious! My lunch date had the Club sandwich, which he also said was delightful, but a tiny bit dry. My only critisms were that my coffee was far too hot and I had to wait around to drink it, and further one of the waiters was hard to get the attention of, and kept ignoring/disappearing. I will most certainly be returning to the Lennox to try out their dinner within the next few weeks, and will be back for lunch.

we love this place for breakfast/Brunch. Its always busy. Absolutely packed on Sunday. The food is always good. the full Irish is one of the best in Dublin I reckon. My husband is particularly fond of the full Irish because it comes with saute potatoes. I tried the crab for brunch this time and it was really very good. Plenty of crab meat and well seasoned. our children had scrambled eggs which were done to perfection. I know that scrambled eggs are super simple but there are so many places who completely overcook them. the freshly squeezed orange juice is really good and you get plenty of it.The service was excellent especially considering how busy they were. great place I hope they start opening in the evenings.

Absolutely love this place for Sunday brunch - well worth the wait outside the door! Eggs Benedict is one of my favourite dishes...the eggs are perfectly poached and hollandaise sauce is extremely well made. The French toast with either berries/mascarpone or bacon/maple syrup is also to die for and a real treat. More expensive than your run of the mill cafe lunches once OJ and teas/coffees are added in but you get what you pay for. We will continue to return!

I was really disappointed by this place. My sister raved about for ages and we decided to go. While I appreciate that it was Sunday lunch time and that we would have to wait, there was a guy on the front desk that completely ignored us. We had to approach him. After roughly 15 minutes, we got a table that had emptied just as we left. That was fine, we ordered, but my food was very bland. I was just very disappointed by the entire experience. Our teapot was only half filled and when we asked them to fill it up, we were ignored two more times, this also happened when we asked for milk. I don't think I will return. The interior is gorgeous and really nicely laid out, but the price, the service and the food was lousy!

I have been to lennox on many occasions, usually for brunch. I find the food here outstanding. The french toast with bacon and maple syrup is to die for. As are the eggs benedict. Poached to perfection! I find the service good and the staff are always very pleasant. People who say the service is slow are just knit picking in my opinion. Yes you have a bit of a wait at the door when you arrive, that's how good this place is people queue out the door! And it can take a while for your food to arrive but if you are queueing at the door then you have probably realised this place is full and there may be a bit of a wait. Also I find that it is brunch and so I personally like to take my time. I'm glad my food is not being thrown out to me 5 minutes after ordering it and then being thrown my bill as I swallow my last mouthful! This place is really superb. Keep doing the excellent job that you are doing!

Came here for sunday brunch and absolutely loved it. They have lots of vegetarian options so if you're vegetarian this is the place for you. The food is cooked to the highest standards and the service is excellent. Expect a queue as it's very popular. I would recommend the full Irish- top class!

This place reminds you of home.. food is made in a very homely manner that even the gorgeous smell from outside the place is unresistably inviting. Had the lennox burger with two other friends for quick lunch and it was exquisite. Unfortunately, what was suppose to be quick lunch turned into quite a wait for food but it was worth it!

I loved this place. Have been going there at weekends for almost two years but the past two visits have really been a disaster service wise. The food is still delicious, coffee and cakes are lovely and when you actually do order the service is prompt and always accurate. However, there seems to be a lack of management in the restaurant now. Last saturday morning we waited for 25 minutes just inside the door waiting for a table. You generally do have to wait here but it was kind of ridiculous. Many tables were vacated in this time, the tables were not cleaned or set up quickly enough we thought. They sat several groups of us at the one time and took an order from another group that were behind us in the queue. When we queried it with what seemed to be the manager he told us they were there in front of us even though we were looking at him for 25 minutes at the top of the queue. Bring back the guy at the front of house... He had it all sorted out previously... I hope for their sake they iron out the service issues...

Ate here for Saturday brunch recently. Lovely cosy cafe and the food was great. I had the scrambled egg with smoken salad and tomato, while my boyfriend had the irish breakfast. Both meals were very generous portions and the food really was delicious. Will definitely be going back there

Literally just back from a work lunch here with a group of 13! I have to say it was a very enjoyable experience... We had the majority of the top floor to ourselves and the staff were on hand for the entire meal. We decided to spoil ourselves and go for a 3 course meal each :) I started off with spiced prawns and they were thoroughly enjoyable. The majority of the table went for the soup which looked very nice and I was quite impressed with the generous servings of 3 different types of thick sliced bread accompanying it. For main course I opted for the quesadilla's along with a few of my colleagues. The rest of the table either went for the fish+chips and the homemade burger. To accompany my quesadilla's I chose sweet potato fries which were very nice. A bit of a hold off till dessert but I decided to go for the chocolate brownie+ice cream. Probably the best choc brownine (v.rich) but still quite enjoyable. Accompanied by tea, the meal was very pleasant!

Live close by Lennox and I LOVE wandering round on a Saturday or Sunday mornig. Always delicious food, perfect for brunch, which is when I mostly avail of the place. Would love them to try dinner but then they'd never be closed! The place isn't huge inside and there are frequently queues to be found ~12pm on the weekends but they smartly provide outside tables with blankets to keep you warm. I find it very hard to resist their eggs benedict/florentine but have recently started brancing out - the burger is great (the relish reminds me of Bick's burger relish from years ago!) and their salads are a bit different from the standard (crab with grapefruit/crispy pancetta with warm fig and sugared walnuts...) My only criticism is that the service is sometimes either quite slow or a little stand offish but equally alot of the times its grand. Highly recommend.

I go here regularly, so not sure if this counts as a bias. I go because the food is consistently good, and simple (i wish other restaurants would take the example from here), with work colleagues I go for lunch, and the burger, the club and fish and chips are staples in our rotation, and are really really very good. Of course there are many other fine choices!. The staff are friendly, efficient and generally busy. At the weekends, I love nothing more than hitting this spot for brunch, where the choices are again all so good, and as you laze awhile reading the papers, you're transported to that nice place, and that's what this is. I kept this a secret from people for a while, but think you ought to know, this rocks. If I was to critcise anything, and I'd rather not, I do wish the trialled opening later in the evenings, as I for one would be there.

I ate her with my partner and a couple of friends for Sunday brunch and found the cafe to be lovely. We sat upstairs. Nice atmosphere and decor, if a bit sceney. Food was very good but not fantastic value but worth the extra few quid. I had the eggs benedict which was very tasty. Staff were friendly but a bit scattered maybe they'd had a late night the previous evening. Overall I was impressed and I would return.

This is a real gem of a restaurant. Great for brunch or lunch. I haven't tried it for dinner yet. The food is excellent and it's great value for money. The staff are lovely but in my experience, they can be a bit unattentive after they give you your menus. To be fair they do seem to be constantly busy, with ques out the door on weekends.

Have heard great things about this place, so decided to visit for a late brunch. The place is small, but very tastefully decorated. First impressions of the brunch menu are: not cheap, and vegetarian options are extremely limited, so my friend had to ask for the mexican eggs dish with the meat removed, which the friendly waiter obliged. I ordered the club sandwich, alas, the sweet potato fries were sold out! The club was tasty, but the bacon was a little over-done, and I thought it was over-priced at 12 euro, coming with a small garnish of rocket. May give this place a second chance, but there are several better-value options nearby, so won't be rushing back.

I enjoy fairly regular visits to Lennox Cafe, almost always on Sunday mornings. My first advice is to get there early! 10am is the perfect time. Any later and you'll be saddled with perhaps a 30 minute wait for a table. That said, the breakfast/brunch food is top notch and prepared with care and attention. Eggs are always perfectly poached or scrambled and the French Toast with Bacon and Maple Syrup is excellent. The venue is small and tables are very close together. Watch out for those patrons that think being in possession of a child's buggy is a licence to behave like you rule the world! Service can be slow and the door/seating policy is positively chaotic. Breakfast with coffee will set you back about €12.00 Lennox is a lovely venue with nice decor and really nice food. If the servers out front could smile a little more and match what's going on in the kitchen the place would be a total winner.

This place is the victim of it's own success. It's so good it's always busy but it's only a small place so the service suffers. Don't get me wrong it's worth it but don't expect to be in and out. The food is fantastic but my advice is pick up the sunday papers, chill and enjoy the food.

Nice decor, and atmosphere, food is very tasty and all freshly cooked which is lovely for lunch. Eaten here heaps with work but on this occassion the service left a bit to be desired (slow and quite short with us) and seems price have had a slight increase too. The don't take reservations given it's size is understandable and menu hasn't changed much in over a year. Avg about €12 for one course lunch. Ideal location for brunch at weekend or a late lunch when they aren't under pressure.

Sunday afternoon we dropped in for 'afternoon T'. I've been dying to try this place out as it has a real inviting look about it. We had some fab cakes and coffees. Those type of cakes that look smallish and ordinary but taste divine. Checked out a few plates passing by and will definitely return for brunch. Everything looked so fresh. It's a small upclass cafe, furnished with real taste, making it very homely and inviting. The waiter staff were very friendly. I do have one complaint, it's very pricey for what you get. 10cent off €15 for 2 x coffee and cake. Doesnt mean I wont be back to try out the brunch mind you.

I was really impressed with the Lennox Cafe. The food was really excellent and so reasonable. The service was also probably the best I've had in a long time, despite the fact that they were so full they had a queue of people waiting. My only criticism is that the noise level was quite high as it's such a small room and the tables are really packed in, but I suppose you have to do that to make any money in such a small room. A small price to pay for what we got. I'll definitely be back.

I can only agree with all the previous postings. This place is a little gem! I live quite close so go quite regularly - Sunday Brunch or tea on a Saturday. I love the food, I love the atmosphere but most of all I love the wonderful service. The last thing they do in the Lennox is rush you. I poppoed in a few Saturdays ago at 16.45 they close at 17.00 so I was just grabbing something quick. The waiter explained - they stop taking orders at 17.00 - they dont close - so he insisted I took my time and ordered a full meal. Again yesterday at Brunch there were queues of people waiting outside -- we were obviously rushing our meal as we felt sorry for them - the waiter insisted we relax, enjoy have more tea - when it was their turn they wouldnt be rushed.

Love, love, love Lennox Cafe, especially for weekend breakfast. The place has great atmosphere and a real continental feeling to it. The Eggs Benedict with Minted Hollandaise Sauce and the French Toast are fab! The interior is cool blue and aqua in tone with a cute collection of cups and saucers on display. Service gets very slow when the place is full but is generally friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and food is well presented and tasty. A gem of a place!

As I live in Portobello, I have eaten at Lennox Caffe a lot of times. The food was always fabulous: whether it is hamburger with home made chips, salmon salad, glorious quesadillas, fish and chips, mixed leave salads or one of the gorgeous cakes - name it. Service is fantastic: yesterday I was in the mood for a fruit salad after lunch. They didn't have it on the menu but in two minutes it was on my plate and it was perfect. Espresso is great and worthy of Italy. Good value for money altogether. And you can enjoy the Irish summer wrapped in a fun leopard-patterned quilt on the terrace - funky and useful in cold climates. Meet you on the terrace to watch the passing of seasons..

"Great food, Great place, But...." Lennox cafe is the only restaurant where, when you order a full Irish breakfast, it does'nt include Tea or coffee. This is a pity because with the breakfast priced at 9:50, it brings it up to 11:70 when you include coffee and for breakfast in a cafe even as good as this one that is just too expensive. The food, service and decor are top notch, and I would go as far as saying that anyone thinking of opening up a cafe should visit Lennox to see the standard that should be set. It's a nice treat to go here..... but Tea and Coffee should be included.

This little café is nestled in the heart of Portobello, just up from the Bretzel Bakery and is the perfect spot to sit outside and watch the world go by. The food is delicious, I definitely recommend the mixed leave salad, with juicy figs and crispy parma ham. Desserts are worth a try with Creme Brulee topping the list. Finish it off with a glass of sparkling prosecco. A place to be recommended to while away your Saturday.

Had a very nice brunch here yesterday. Food is very simple but very well executed. Service is friendly. Only slight gripe is that it's a little cramped. Depending on which table you get, you may have to keep getting up to let the people beside you in or out.

Lovely little place - truly a proper brunch restaurant. It's small and cozy with loads of newspapers in case you want something to read. The food is spot on and very tasty. The salmon and scrambled eggs is quite tasty as are the egg soldiers and the full Irish. They do lovely mochas, just too bad it isn't free refills! The prices are on the higher end for brunch. You likely will have a long wait for a table as it's constantly full but at least you have lots of cakes to drool over while you're waiting. Try not to sit next to the door as it's really chilly with everyone coming in and out.

Hidden gem. Worth the walk out of town. My first time here and can't wait to go back. Nice decor, good service. Tables are packed a bit close and you risk a wait or sharing a small table with someone you don't know. Food was beautiful and reasonably priced for beautiful presentation etc. Had the fish and chips and was gorgeous, lovely desserts. Don't live anywhere near this place but will definitely return again and again despite the inconvenience - much much better than most similar or more expensive places in city centre.

I live beside the cafe, and love it. Every time we've eaten here its been beautiful. Both Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch. Service is always great. Tight enough seating area. And don't go hungry as you may have to wait to get seated as this place is so popular there is usually a queue out the door. Smoking area outside too.

I love the Lennox Cafe & Bistro. The poached eggs on spinach & ciabatta is sensational - eggs perfectly cooked, delicious hollandaise & a generous amount of spinach. The coffee is as good as any I've had in Dublin, and the china tea cups are just lovely. Buzzing with well heeled locals, the Lennox is also pretty good value. Destined to become a regualr brunch venue. Get there before 13:00 and pop into the Bretzel down the road & stock up on excellent bread and onion bagels.

What a find, after months of saying I must try Lennox I finally made it last Sunday & am now kicking myself that I didn't try it sooner. The place is a little goldmine, I loved drinking tea from china cups, the menu selection was great and the food was delicious, I'll definately be returning!

I live right beside this place so I go fairly regularly. I especially like their breakfast (the Lennox Breakfast). The sausage and bacon taste like butcher quality and not just the usual rubbery ones you get! It also comes with an egg now you like it, served on ciabatta bread with a few little potatoes, tomato and puddings. Probably the best thing about the fry is that it's good food, cooked properly and not drenched in oil so it doesn't feel like you're eating a fry, it's almost healthy! Have had dinners here too which were also good and reasonably priced, portions maybe a bit small would be my only minor complaint. Also a good place for celebrity spotting, have been sitting at the table next to Pat Kenny more than once, and others too!

I live only 2 minutes from The Lennox Cafe and just stumbled upon it on a Sunday afternoon. What an amazing find! On entering we were seated immediately and shown the menus. The decor is cream and duck egg blue. They have beautiful china tea cups on the ledge at the window, the seats were very comfortable. The Manager (i think?) informed us what the specials were, they all sounded so tasty, from calamari to salad nicoise. The scrambled eggs come with either smoked salmon or wild mushrooms. I couldn't decide which to have, so i asked if I could have both! My partner had the poached eggs with spinach, both came on ciabatta bread. Both dishes were very tasty indeed! The salmon was the best I have tasted in a long time! The service was very attentive and friendly and value for money it is up there with Maia on Shelbourne Road and Dylan Hotel. I am looking forward to being a regular brunch visitor!

After taking a stroll down the canal, I happened upon The Lennox Bistro, which I had heard of, so I thought I would give it a go! A busy little bistro, buzzing with a diverse crowd of South Circularites. I waited 15 minutes and was seated at a table with a complimentary Independent and weekender!! It was mid morning so I focused on the Breakfast menu, which had eggs of every variety, poached, scrambled & baked, all organic of course! I decided to go for the Lennox Irish Breakfast which consisted of 2 perfectly cooked pieces of Bacon, 1 perfectly poached egg nestled on a piece of toast, half a tomato, sauteed potatoes, black pudding and the worst sausage I have ever tasted in my life. On three occasions i thought I had broken a tooth due to the large pieces of gristle that I discreetly pulled from my mouth ( I am still wondering what sort of meat it was made from)! Along with my organic breakfast I had a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice, beautiful, but at €3.50 a glass, why shouldn't be!! In total my bill came to €13.00, which I believe is very expensive. In saying that, I will go again, (not for breakfast), but for lunch as the menu is quite varied. All in all, a nice addition to the area, with friendly staff but a tad on the expensive side!

First impressions were good - clean, crisp exterior with tables and chairs arranged on a little patio in the hope of a sunny day. Second impression was also favourable - a warm welcome from what we took to be the manager and a quickly rearranged setting so the three of us could be fitted in on a busy Friday lunchtime. Although small on the inside, it is perfectly laid out to maximise space - you will however hear your neighbours conversation! The décor is chic and relaxing - cream & duck egg blue. No great surprises on the menu and it does have something to suit most tastes. We ordered the Lennox Fish and Chips, the Lennox Beef Burger and the Pan Fried Mackerel together with a sparkling water, still water and tap water. My only gripe (small) is that we waited a little over the time we had to spare on work day lunch. However, it was worth waiting for - two large, juicy mackerels on crisp ciabatta with a respectable size side salad were devoured in minutes, the burger was homemade, juicy and perfectly cooked, two decent sized fillets of fish in a crispy batter were delicious and the chips that came with the burger and fish were crisp on the outside and floury in the centre. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the desserts but had two decent coffees to finish. All in all a very good first visit and I look forward to going back.

I was here yesterday for breakfast with my beau. I was very disappointed, having heard great things. I will say though that my partners full Irish was bang on and the sausages were fab! I ordered the poached eggs with Bacon on Italian Bread, and specified Hollandaise on the side. My first dish had to go back as the hollandaise was all over it. When it was re served, I cut into the eggs which were both hard poached. I tried to get a servers attention with no luck, so I just ate (or tried) The bread while crispy at the crust was terribly soggy in the middle, not just buttered. The bacon was disappointing as it was quite bland. The vinegar in the Hollandaise was all that I could taste. Half way through my second egg, I noticed a very large piece of shell. I didn't eat any more after that. To top it all off, the latte I ordered was lukewarm. The staff seemed to be over stretched and for the most part were good and were balancing a lot. However, when clearing the dishes, mine still had half the food on it, and there was no attempt to ask whether everything had been alright. I hope that it was just an unfortunate day and that a second visit would be better. Lovely decor and the tables outside were great for reading the Sunday papers.

I had the Poached Eggs which come with a choice of wilted spinach or crispy bacon on toasted Italian bread with minty hollandaise. I couldn't make my mind up on one or the other so I had both and... It was scrumptious! Very More-ish! Coffee was also very good. The atmosphere is very relaxed... I’ll definitely be back!

Once again delighted. A very chilled and excellent quality lunch. Really fresh ingredients, well executed and good service. Coffee is particularly good and the food arrived in good time. Everything was made to order and this was evident in the quality and presentation. I would recommend the Ultimate Caesar with Anchovies - must be within the top 5 Caesars in Dublin. The Antipasto is also great as a shared sarter between 3 to 5 people. Now one of my regular haunts.

I had brunch there a little while ago. The food was very good, but I thought it was a little expensive - poached eggs with spinach cost €9.50 plus €1 for the bacon, i.e. €10.50. The service was good, but the seats and tables are so small I was unable to unfold the newspaper I’d brought to read. The table next to us had to pass us our food. The atmosphere is good, and the decor pleasant and quirky, but I felt too claustrophobic to really enjoy it. I think I'd rather take the money we spend on our mini brunch and go crazy elsewhere instead!

Went for lunch in group of 7. Took a fair while after our order but with 7 orders not a surprise. There were significant oohs and aaahs when lunch arrived .....caesar salad was great, burgers and fish were favorites. highly recommended.

I was brought here for a surprise breakfast and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff attentive, friendly and efficient. Tried the eggs benedict and the consistency of the eggs was perfect..
