Lemon is great for a casual bite for lunch, its right across the road from me in work, popped over last tuesday for a bite. My favourite dish by far is the Mexicano Extra - Melted cheddar, streaky bacon, tomato, salsa & guacomole. Service to me is very fast food, nothing special or memorable. But the pancakes taste good if that's what your after. I think next time im gonna go for one with chocolate and strawberries outside with a coffee ...

Lemon is good for lunch or a quite bite. The staff are very efficient and they have a great variety of snacks on the menu from crepes (sweet & savoury) to paninis. The only downfall is that they often don't provide enough filling (personally). This is especially the case with the dessert crepes. However, the food is fast, good value for money and very tasty. I will continue to be a regular for lunch.

This branch of Lemon is always really busy. That creates a good atmosphere, if you're happy to sit next to people you don't know. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only issue with the atmosphere is that if it's cold outside the restaurant is pretty cold too as the door is almost always open. I had the French Toast on my most recent visit and found it pretty stodgy and wouldn't order it again, but my friend absolutely loved her crepe and loved that she could get a great range of gluten free crepes. This place doesn't suit every diet (e.g. vegan / dairy free), but if it does suit your diet I imagine you would love it! The crepes are quite good value for money for what they are - very filling. It's nice that all their coffees and hot drinks are served with a little chocolate too.

I must disagree with the other comments of this place being pricey. I come here alot and aways leave full. I have a delicious crepe and fantastic cappucino all for under €10! Excellent value. Love the Power Plus Crepe. This place Rocks. Staff are always really friendly. Love this place

Deceptively filling pancakes. Good range of choices for what you want in them, both savoury and sweet. Lemon and sugar is a good safe bet and chicken and cheese is nice if you want to fill up. A bit pricey but nice for a change

I had to pay Lemon a visit as I was in town and it was Pancake Tuesday. This is one of my favourite mornings stops and again it didn't disappoint. We got in about 1230 so just beat the lunch rush which was soon out the door and down the street. We had traditional pancakes which were lovely as usual. Good coffees too. It's a little expensive for what you get, but with good tunes and buzzy, friendly staff who seemed to thrive under pressure (especially the two crepe makers) you don't mind so much. My only quibble was getting the coffees some time after the pancakes, but a minor detail on their busiest day of the year.

Really nice place to pop in for lunch, or a coffee and a treat (nutella ice waffle is delicious). The savoury crepes are really good, and they are completely flexible about adding or changing ingredients. My favourites are - Vegetarian Power Plus and the Club sandwich. The chocolate ones are all delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The staff are always busy, but very friendly. Very happy and it is a staple for any Trinity student

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad they did. The place was very busy, but my friends and I managed to get a table. Our orders were taken within minutes. The food is delicious. I got the power crepe (spinach, ham, cheddar) and it was really tasty. I will certainly be back.

The husband, 11-year old and I dropped into Lemon for a quick lunch. It wasn't our first visit so we knew what to expect. The youngest of our trio wanted a crepe with egg and bacon, the husband followed his lead, and I had a hot chicken tikka sandwich. The food preparation area looks quite industrial and the tables and benches are somewhat too close together - not a good choice for the unwary, bag-laden shopper. The staff all seemed good humoured. The system has a few kinks - my coffee arrived several minutes before my sandwich - but overall it's serviceable. Two savoury crepes, one sandwich, two coffees and a bottle of water came to €25. The husband groaned (he was paying so he's entitled to a groan) but I thought it wasn't bad.

I'm a Trinity student so this is a frequent port of call for lunch, and I love it! Smell is delicious, can't recall the number of times I've gone in for a coffee and ended up ordering food! The pancakes are delicious (my favourite being the Mexican Pepper Crepe), but there are plenty of sandwiches and salads for those who don't fancy the crepes. Coffee is also delicious and very reasonably priced - €2 for a small but very strong and tasty cuppa. When accompanied by a scone you have the ultimate treat! Prices are a bit steep considering its reputation as a 'student' cafe but portions are big and the food is nice and unique enough to justify the prices, for the most part. Staff are always friendly. Atmosphere isn't really my cup of tea personally, but the busy, buzzing, loud aura of the place is exactly what many people desire. All in all a great place for an early morning coffee or a filling, yet quick lunch.

I'm not as impressed with this place as everyone else seems to be. If you're looking to fill up this is not the place to go. You will have parted with over ten euros to get fed. Their pancakes are nice but their prices are too high, especially in times of recession! They do nice coffees to take away so I look at it as more of a coffee place or somewhere to have a quick snack. The seats outside are a nice touch.

I every now and again pop here for lunch as it is handy in the city centre and you know that you can get something delicious quickly. Lemon is always packed full of students and tourists and a bit noisy for that but knowing what to expect it doesn't matter. The crepes are lovely and the coffee is good too. My favourites are the ham and cheese - they have the most delicious cheddar - and the mexican with loads of fresh peppers. The crepe suzette is a great dessert. Portions are sizeable enough to satisfy even a big hunger. Recommend for a quick bite!

Lemon is a fun place to eat, the atmosphere is always upbeat and friendly, with plenty of people watching to be had (especially on the Dawson Street branch where you have the pavement outside full of interest and a few famous people inside). My favourite pancake is the NY...I have tried to recreate this at home many times and failed. The ingredients work together so well, and are absolutely delicious. The price in here, for a filling lunch and a coffee (their coffees are great) is still pretty reasonable, and I love the chocolate that comes with the coffees. The service is fast and friendly, it's a great place to go for breakfast and read the paper, or meet up with friends for a quick bite!

Scrummy waffles and tea! I've been visiting Lemon on and off for years. Popped into the Dawson Street branch yesterday craving something sweet. Not being a pancake fan I opted for the Strawberry Ice Dream Waffle, absolutely yummy! Pity the waffle doesn't taste freshly made, I suspect it was overcooked for from a package, however, still good. Good selection of tea's and the coffee isn't bad either. Great spot for an informal catch up for a quick sugar pick-me-up.

I had walked passed this place many a time and i always liked looking in at the decor. It always seemed so lovely and bright. They have an outdoor seating area which has heaters which means you can sit outside even when it gets a bit cooler. I had the Banana supreme with nutella which was lovely! Great combinations. The prices are reasonable enough too given its D2 location.

A very disappointing visit. Got the Complete Crepe which tasted like it had been completely dipped in butter. There were weird spots in it which may have been gone off cheese. I've gone off the place anyway, it's a bit dear for a place which is practically self service too.
Response:
Dear Reviewer, Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your visit to Lemon. In response I cannot account for a taste of butter, we use a Mature/Vintage blend of Cheddar, sourced exclusively for us. This cheese has been used for 2 years and has a distinct and strong taste given its ageing and quality. We use butter with our egg bacon and consider to be essential owing to the fact that it does not contain any cheese. All our gallettes are lightly brushed with butter as is standard in all creperies in France when serving a gallette. In relation to weird spots, I cannot respond as I would need to to have seen the crepe. That said, our cheddar is delivered 3 times a week and we have exhaustive means to ensure quality of produce. In relation to prices, price is always subjective. The greatest costs in our industry are outside of our control for example we recently had a 17% increase in rent in our South William street branch (Dawson st branch currently under rent review). The production of made to order crepes and coffee is a highly labour intensive activity, we have no microwaves, deep fat fryers, holding pans etc. Having managed Lemon and trained its 45 staff for over 10 years I can assure you that a self service comparison could not be further from the reality. Naturally I thank you for any custom you have provided and wish to thank you for taking the time to read a tiny insight to the business proper. Thanks and regards

Being a student in Trinity, this place is always suggested as a lunch place. The crepes are nice, but overpriced for what you get. Also I dont like how there is a big difference of almost a euro between take away and sit in. I understand they have to wash plates etc, but it seems too much extra to pay. I reccommend this place for a quick informal lunch as the benches are communal so you could be sitting beside strangers. Expect to pay rougly 6 euro for a crepe or totasted sandwich. Staff are very friendly. Chicken tikka sandwich is my favourite.

The smell wafting from here is delicious and it looks really nice inside. However, I don't like the layout of the tables. You could be sitting next to strangers so it's not the best place to meet up with someone for a coffee and a chat. The waffles with icecream and nutella are really something and the hot chocolate is delicious except it goes cold very quickly. The staff are nice enough too. Overall it's a nice place but it's nicer to go to when it's not too busy.

This place is always busy because it's so close to Trinity. There are better crepes available elsewhere at much lower prices but I suppose you're paying for the Dawson St. factor. The menu is extensive which is good, but coffee is poor and the omelettes are rip off. Toasted sandwiches looked big although I've never tried them.

Overrated & overpriced. This place lacks atmosphere and while the crepes are good they are vastly over priced. There are better value crepes places nearby which are just as good quality wise. The omelette my friend had was like rubber and was not worth the money. The seating outside is good but the benches only work if you don't mind being overheard.

After dinner, we wanted to end the night with a sweet note.Lemon didnt disappoint. All 4 of us found ourselves at the footsteps of lemon.I must say I have such a great weakness for their sweet crepes that I have nearly ignored the fact that they do whip up savoury versions.I suppose my sweet tooth does most of the action.Anyways, had the choc ice.If there was a word to describe crepe,it was al dente.Just the right texture and spongy..not overly. It had a decadent layer of milk buttons with a scoop of vanilla ice cream as a accompaniment.Writing this literally makes me salivate and I'm contemplating my next trip back.Friends had sticky crepe while the other had fresh fruit on hers.I was too happy in my world till I forgot to ask about theirs though all seemed happy transported into light years a way.On the pricey side considering its just crepe but well worth experience. They should come up with specials!!hint!HINT!

Came here on pancake Tuesday - needless to say was packed! Buzzing atmosphere though had to wait a while for a table - this place should really have more as it's very popular even on normal days. Had the calzone crepe with salamai and it was delicious! Crepes are huge and really fill you up - wanted a sweet one but wasn't fit for it! I actually think they are very reasonably priced for Dublin seeing how much you get - will def be back again.

This is a favourite of mine for breakfast in town. The Canadian buckwheat pancakes are my all time favourite with crispy bacon and lashings of maple syrup. Throw in a latte and you're set for the morning! Theres always a nice buzz in the place. This is cheap and cheerful at its best.

This place has a really interesting menu for all those concerned with what they put into their body! They have a power crepe with all kinda of good things in it, which I really want to try next time I head down, but alas I opted for delicious chocolate covered belgian waffles. The amount of sugar in them is truely tooth decaying, but worth every bite!! I have also had a chocolate crepe there recently, which you get to choose what kind of chocolate you want (milk, white or dark) to be melted into the filling. Delicious! You are required to queue up to order your food, but it is delivered to your table. Overall, it's a great place for brunch or a tasty treat.

There is nowhere better for a hangover breakfast in Dublin. The breakfast deal is great value and as an avid coffee fan I love that you can get an 'extra shot' free in your coffee for that little more kick to get you going. I never thought I was one for the savoury crepes or even the veggie ones but the 'power crepe' is delicious. The sweet waffles (with delicious maple syrup) and the traditional lemon and sugar crepe are winner aswell though. The service is really quick and some of the tables are long so you can fit a gang of people in too.

I love this place. It's fun. The coffee is not so great but the crepes are. Considering the cost of the ingredients, the level of decor and the self service style I do tend to wonder what exactly I am paying for though. The last time I was fleeced like this was at a similar style place on the tourist trail in Nice. That said I will be back to both places. They know that they have a product so good on them but do us a favor - remember your best customers are students and price your products accordingly. You will allways get customers like me but they are your market and they are building your business. Give a little back. Staff and service are great in all locations. Would love to see Normandy cider served alongside. You know that's how it was in Britanny when they began serving them. I had the salmon crepe last Monday. Superb but was it worth what I paid for it - NO! The cost robbed me of any enjoyment.

This place is great after a night out.It has exactly what you want for quick hearty breakfast. The menu has so much choice every time i go i want to try something different but always end up chosen their traditional lemon pancake. The coffees and hot chocolates here are lovely and the staff are always friendly and welcoming no matter how early it is or how rushed they are.my only critcism is that the place feels a little like an old school canteen.

I was there today - if i could i would be eating there 3 times a day. The crepes that they have there are more than great! My favourite would be power deluxe with smoked salmon, spinach, cheese and garlic mayo! You pay arround 6-8 euro for one pancake but they are huge, so one is absolutely enought! Great for breakfast or lunch! The best creperia in the town!

Went here this morning with the better half for breakfast. Have to say I was very impressed. We both opted for the Crispy Breakfast deal which was great at €7.55. Lovely crepe and really good coffee. Also like the fact that you can have an extra shot without an added charge. Nice touch. The staff are super friendly and extremely efficient, the food is very good and we will definately make it a venue of choice for breakfast in future. Can't believe it has taken us so long to try it.

I love this place if I want something quick and handy. It's always busy and easy to go to alone. I like the buckwheat complete (ham egg and cheese) and while nowhere near as nice as the completes in creperies in Brittany, is not a bad alternative considering it's in Ireland not France. I tried one of the beef filled ones once and wasn't impressed with the quality of the beef but what do you expect for such a low price? Cheap, cheerful and handy.

This place is well known and can be really great depending on what you order. I prefer the salty crepes from here but their sweet crepes are nice as well.If you dont like dark chocolate, beware of their dark chocolate crepes....way over the top...too much to handle for even dark chocolate lovers. And if you are not liking what you are eating, dont be afraid to ask for a little extra something you think it is missing. Might as well make sure you enjoy what you are eating.

Great place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat i have eaten here many times and would recommend all the crepes and breakfasts. Or if you would just like to sit down and have a cup of coffee its a good place to go for that. Its only downfall is that it is so popular that it is packed most of the time, but thats also a good thing because it shows how good their cuisine is and thats its got a great atmosphere.

This place is perfect for breakfast or a pit stop while shopping. Looks pretty cool with good music while you eat. Not the cheapest place to eat but the French toast is really good!

The crepes are unbeatable here. The vegetarian powercrepe is to die for. Less heavy than a bread based lunch, and certainly more tasty. Great place for a casual lunch.

For sweet crepes especially I would reccommend eating in as eating the crepes on the move is awkward and results in very sticky fingers! Friendly service but sometimes slow.

Great savory crepes if sweet ones are not your thing. Had the Smoked Mexicano which was really tasty and filling. Not a huge fan of the layout but will definitely be coming back.

This place is perfect - a haven on a hot summers day, a cosy retreat in the middle of winter. The staff are great and the atmosphere is perfect- cool without being pretentious. The food is delicious. Their toast is my ultimate comfort food fix, its buttered and then toasted on their hot plates and served up with jam. It's out of this world. The chai lattes are perfect - a lovely mid afternoon treat. Service can be a bit slow at peak times.

Come here a fair bit for lunch. Usually get the Club Sandwich or a savory crepe and it's always tasty, good coffee too. It's generally busy, especially during the lunch hours but service is fairly quick as they have close to 10 people working, so as long as you can get a seat it's grand.

I love the crepes here, especially the Baileys Choc Ice one. They are delicious, but so filling so don't plan on eating a healthy lunch with these!

those chocolate ice crepes are to die for! love this place, especially considering they offer a college discount and are situated barely a minute from tcd! generally friendly staff, though the wait can be irritating, as you get squashed into a corner with everyone else while your crepe is being made. i suppose the fact that it seems to be permanently busy shows how tasty the food is!

Great place for a light lunch, though none of the crepes seem to fill me up. The caramel machiatos are why I go there, really tasty coffee. Not much to it, simply go in and choose whatever toppings you like on it. Pretty easy to get it right as there are no real bad toppings. That said, unless you really like nuttella, then go for the chocolate one, its so much better. AS for the savoury crepes, like I said you cant go wrong, I've never eaten one I didn't like. Service is quick as well, although I would avoid lunch as it's a bit mental.

Always a good bet for lunch, though 1-2 is hectic in there. A really great place for vegetarians, and very informal. Difficult for parties of three or more to find seating, usually, but a high customer turnover means you'll be able to sit by the time your food is ready. The staff are always very accommodating, though rushed. The only real criticism is that it's quite expensive for a small meal, even by Dublin 2 standards.

The pancakes are always gorgeous. The choc ice is a favourite of mine if I want something sweet. The savoury ones are great too, last time I got the mexicano and it was SO GOOD. LOVE this place. Outdoor seating is great too.

For a quick meal, this place is pretty good. I always get the veggie power crepe and its very tasty and filling. It has excellent coffee too! The only negative about this place is that it's often very crowded, so I try to skip the peak hours. That said, it's always a very positive atmosphere...buzzy and energetic. Very nice staff!

GRILLED CHEESE! This may sound odd to anyone but an American, but this is the only place in Dublin that makes a respectable grilled cheese sandwich. it also has great crepes, but I will always return for the grilled cheese. it's a fast food place with good food, and often to loud but a nice place to grab a quick lunch or a chocolate and strawberry crepe to go.

This has become an easy favourite simply because of it's location and speed of service. The crepes themselves can be either delicious or so-so, depending entirely on if one has managed to choose a combination that works as a crepe, or not, for example the 'classic' ham & cheese is simple but excellent. Distinctly overpriced, but I'm sure that's partially a result of the great location.

A place I frequent a lot. The crepes are all fantastic if not a little overpriced - unrivalled in Dublin. I always think the sandwiches are overlooked by people who come here for the sweet crepes - the salsa melt and deli special are amazing. The lemon breakfast during the week is fantastic value. The novelty of seeing how the pancakes are made is really cool too. I hope lots more of these pop up around the city.

Simply delicious crepes...If only I worked in town I would frequent this place alot more. Their choice of crepes is extensive, they are always speedy and in the Dawson St shop there is always seats. I have never been disappointed here and have been going to Lemon since they opened some years back. It might be a little pricey but its always my little treat when I head to town.

I got a chocolate and banana crepe here - absolutely gorgeous, if a bit too filling/gooey (not really a complaint though) The staff didn't seem too friendly though, and for some reason the waitress thought we ordered take-away, even though we were sitting down, and was a bit indignant about it when we told her. As a result we had a far messier dining experience than the other customers, who had plates and cutlery.... Bit over priced too.

I really like the canteen style tables, you can sorta squeeze in. Despite the extensive menu, the Traditional does it for me. As with its sister on South William Street, your clothes may smell of crepes if you eat it. Another great shopping break spot!

Lemon...hum..Yummy crépes. I love it. Lemon is my Saturday morning destination for a different yet delicious breakfast. The kids love the chocolate crépes and the savoury breakfast crépe. The only thing to complain about is the table layout, which makes the place a bit awkward. Overall a very nice cafe.

I get coffee here most mornings and sometimes breakfast. Excellent coffee and they ask if you want it strong, food is a little pricey but I ordered an omlette last week for the first time and its HUGE with toast on the side so I think you get a lot for it. Staff are friendly and it's something different from the usual croissant to have a crepe. I would recommend for breakfast or coffee. Sandwiches are a bit on the heavy side for me but nice and savoury.

I came in here with a couple of peckish visiting tourists in the rain, and it did just the job. We had the dark chocolate-ice with baileys crepe, and a nutella ice waffle, both really yummy, a bit thick and heavy, but filling. A lovely atmosphere and decor, efficient work, would definitely come back.

Ran in here to shelter from a recent mid summer thunder storm and I was pleasantly surprised. I curled up in a corner and enjoyed pure indulgence with a traditional crepe (yummy!) and one of the best hot chocolates I have had in a long time. This place is sure to brighten up any typical Irish summer’s day.

Lemon is a real novelty place, when I have friends or family to stay from home I always take them here for breakfast or lunch. What you see is exactly what you get the crepes are lovely, usually share a savoury one and a sweet one between two so that you get a bit of both. It’s a real funky little place; there are big long benches where everyone sits together. The service is always very good too. It’s not a fancy restaurant but its great for a bite to eat whilst in town.
