2.5After hearing great things about KC Peaches, we decided to give it a go while in Grand Canal Dock for Tall Ships. It was understandably busy, but the chaos that ensued was totally uncalled for. There were six staff on the floor and 3 in the kitchen, which was more than enough to cope with the full restaurant as it only sits about 50 at most.
When we came in we looked for a table and were told we were second in the cue and would have to wait 5 or 10 mins, which was fine. At least 20 minutes later we were still standing waiting and looking at empty tables which we had been asked not to sit down at until they were cleared - again fine but another 10 minutes passed until we were told we could sit down. The staff were strolling around with no system, picking up one or two things from the empty tables as they passed. If someone had of just cleared the tables it would have taken two minutes.
When we were seated, I asked the waiter to take our order straight away as we had looked at the menu while waiting. He looked at me like I was crazy and said that he had other tables to serve. While we were waiting I wrote down our order as one of our party was in a rush to leave for the match in Croke Park and I thought this would hurry things along and we could see and hear everyone else around us complaining about the service. When he came back to take the order he seemed relieved when I handed it to him, quickly read through it and said he'd get us water now and coffees would be over in a minute.
Literally 20 minutes later we still had no water, never mind coffees. I caught one of the waiter’s attention and explained that one of us had to leave for the match in 20 minutes and we needed to get our food as soon as possible. When the coffees finally came about 10 minutes after that, the milk in the cappuccinos was burnt. When the food finally came it was lovely, but the entire afternoon was ruined as our friend had already left for the match and we were all very annoyed.
When I went to pay the waiter comped the coffees because of the bad service, but this was the least they could do. I thanked her for the gesture, but pointed out that I was still annoyed. The manager was standing beside her and didn’t even comment. Overall an awful experience. I always wonder at the people who leave these ridiculously long complaints on menupages, but now I understand why!

4.5Went to KC Peaches for a late Sunday brunch. The staff were really friendly and when my husband ducked out to get the papers they offered to hold off on making his coffee so it wouldn’t get cold. I had a smoked salmon bagel which came with a choice of sides, I went for the fruit salad which was lovely and fresh. Hubby went for the Big Breakfast, he was a happy man with an overflowing plate . . . I couldn’t resist stealing a taste and can report the eggs and sausage were lovely. The coffee was really good too. Overall it was a nice atmosphere, good food, good service and reasonably priced – will defo be back.

5.0went here with a friend of mine for lunch, had a quiche with blue cheese in it and salad for side which was delicious, and small soup with port cubes in it and was very nice as well. The waiter who served me gave me the price of the quiche and salad as price for small portion, which was very kind. 2 people costs around 12. good value nice good, would like to go back again.

4.0Have been here for lunch a couple of times, good salad selection and nice soup. Bit pricey but around the same as other places in the area and better food than many. I'm a big fan of their couscous.

Hi Giggle,
Thank you for your kind review, I really appreciate it. Glad you like the cou cous, I’m a big fan too!
With regards our prices it is our aim to provide good quality food for good value. We do not cut corners when it comes to the quality of our ingredients. We use ingredients that are 100% wholefoods, free of artificial additives or preservatives. We also source all our ingredients as locally as possible, our bread is from Bretzel Bakery in Portobello, our cheeses are supplied by Sheridan’s cheese mongers, we use Gubeen sausages and our coffee is freshly roasted for us by Ariosa in Co. Meath.
Again I’d like to thank you for the positive review and we look forward to serving you again soon.
Kind Regards
Saoirse

5.0This review is for the Wine Cave (downstairs in KC Peaches) but I didn't see a separate entry for it so I'm just putting it here.
We popped in here last night after some late night shopping, not really expecting much, and were completely blown away by the food. Judging by the prices (between 8 and 12 euro for most dishes) we assumed they were going to be small portions so we ordered three dishes between two of us - the colcannon, the pork medallion, and the butterbean and chorizo salad (I think it was called salad, but it was more like a 'bake').
The food took ages, and we wondered what was going on. The waiter then apologised stating a 'failure of communication' with the kitchen. I liked the honesty! He compensated us with some freebies, which was really nice.
When the food arrived, we literally couldn't get over how delicious it was. We eat out regularly and I haven't tasted anything that good in years - just incredible combinations of flavours. We spent most of the meal talking about the meal! I doubt anything we ate was healthy (too delicious for that), but it was a treat. And the portions were big too - one each would have been more than enough.
I doubt that we were lucky enough to pick the three most fabulous dishes on the menu (I couldn't even pick a favourite they were all so good), so I look forward to going back to try everything else!
Main highlight was the food, but the service was also good - despite the delay with the food we felt well looked after and well compensated. Thanks!
