3.5i have been there a few times but Friday ws very disappointing.
firstly they tried to give me a table near the kitchen door upstairs, staff were flying by it back and forward as it was a busy evening. i asked to be moved so they asked us to wait a while (no problem) there was a perfect table for four free when we arrived and this was still available when we were waiting, we bought some wine and sat outside eventually we were called and given the table we saw from the moment we arrived!! they mislaid the first bottle of wine we bought? cant fault the food as its very good though the menu seemed to have less choice than before, they never asked us did we want dessert or tea/coffee, wasnt that they were rushing us as they were not, they seemed to just forget ! we had to ask twice for the bill as again the first girl forgot? €180 a lot for poor service.

5.0We were a group of Dublin Tour Guides out for a ladies lunch today. The restaurant is exceptional . Wonderful food and attentive service. We sat for 5 hours over our lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor is very classy and the pillar candle on our table a nice touch at lunchtime. Very good value for money for a really great meal in the city Center.

4.5Came here for a leisurely lunc with colleagues; a friday afternoon must be the 'ladies that lunch' day, glam ladies all around and only a small number of men! Staff were very helpful and very friendly and very well trained. We had the 3 course lunch which was great value! i had soup which was gorgeous, then slow cooked beef which was melt in your mouth and then we had some desserts to share! i would recommend it to anyone a real pleaser.

4.5I went here for lunch during work, pleasantly surprised when we realised there was a lunch deal - soup and sandwich for €10.50. However, this was no ordinary soup & sambo lunch combo.......it was an amazing celariac soup, the nicest i'd ever tasted and a lovely open chicken, bacon, avocado and mixed leaves sandwich. I'd say calling it gourmet soup and sambo combo would be summing it up perfectly! The staff were very friendly and attentive. We were all very pleased with our lunches, and have returned several times since! I'd recommend it to anyone!

4.0We booked Il Segreto for a lunch and requested a table on the terrace in the vain hope of a bit of sun. No sun but one of the party smoked so it still turned out fine as they were happy to enjoy their cigarette over a glass of wine. As it was a Tuesday afternoon the restaurant was quiet and we were the only ones on the terrace for quite a while. Service was excellent and very attentive, but in fairness it should have been as they were not overly busy. Can't comment too much on atmosphere because of where we were sitting but I could see the restaurant being very buzzy when full.
Food wise I thought it was just delicious. I went all fish - crab cakes to start and then the lobster risotto. The risotto was very very good, a generous portion of lobster and the perfect consistency, there was not a scrap left. Finished up with a cheese plate and lingered over a final glass of wine.
Value wise there is a set lunch menu that comes in under 20 euro for 2 courses. (the risotto wasn't an option on that understandably enough). For food of this quality it's a good deal and a great way to try the kitchen at its best when it's not under the pressure of a large number of diners.
I will definitely be back again for the risotto.....

2.0We arrived on time and were left to wait out on the very chilly terrace for 40mins for our table. They had run out of bread so we go 2 slices for our table of 12. Starters were good all round but thats where it ended. I ordered the John dory and the portion that arrived was smaller than my starter, the others were no better. Steaks were average at best and the pork belly was a disappointment. Desserts were a complete let down. At €90 per head we left very hungry and unimpressed, Service was average, and though i didnt use them all our table compalined about the toilets: not enough of them, shared, queing in the dining area and dirty. Thankfully Dublin has too many good restaurants to ever need to go back

5.0Have been here many times with friends and family. It is ALWAYS a great dining experience. The food is always superb and the staff are very accommodating when we sometimes wish to alter our meals. the atmosphere is always warm and happy and friendly with a great buzz about the place at any time. Have enjoyed weddings, birthdays, girls night out, work dinners here and everyone always leaves happy. One if my favourite places to eat in in Dublin a secret gem not to be missed.

5.0I agree with the last reviewer - a brilliant outdoor terrace. Service is efficient and friendly. On my last visit I had the Lamb it was delightful, nicely cooked. A lovely busy buzz in the place.

5.0What a lovely spot and even better to be able to dine outside on one of two lovely terraces.
We dined of the earlybird menu both had crab starter with beautiful bread served to table for mains I had shoulder of lamb with parsnip mash melt in the mouth and my guest had the chiclen dish looked beautiful and she really enjoyed as we both did.
would recommend for value flavours and surrondings and will be back
