Gibson's Deli & Bakery 3.5 star review: This place looks lovely, and is great to stop in for a cup of tea and a sandwich whilst strolling through town. It's atmosphere is the thing that attracted me and didn't let me down. The sandwich I had was perfectly nice

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 3.5 star review: went here for breakfast/lunch. lovely little cafe decor and atmosphere are top notch. food and service less so. ordered cinnamon french toast and blt with tea. french toast came first and blt came about 5 minutes later. why they could not have been brought at the same time is beyond me. meant one of us were nearly finished while other one had to watch and wait until the blt arrived. not really satisfactory. french toast itself was nice but cinnamon was absent except for pinch over whipped cream on side. blt was just ok. little bit overpriced and service issue let it down

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 4.0 star review: While I was really impressed with the pretty decor and atmosphere of Gibsons, i was dissapointed with the service my daughter and I recieved on the day we visited. I ordered coffee and cake for us both, the waitress promptly brought the coffees but we were left waiting 10 mins for the pastries.my daughter's cappichino was cold by the time they did arrive and she told the waitress this. She returned 10 mins later with a shot of hot expresso to heat the cappichino instead of just bringing a fresh one! The staff appeared to be very distracted and i overheard customers at the next table commenting on the poor service also. It was such a pity as it is such a lovely cafe and the pastries were delicious.

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 4.0 star review: We had the most delicious and creamy scrambled eggs for breakfast here on Saturday morning. Great coffee & country toast too and the tiny cupcakes served with coffee are scrumptious.

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 4.5 star review: I haven't eaten here but they do a good take out coffee. The place looks great and the waitress was very friendly to us, if just a tad busy with all the orders. I had a cappuccino which had a lovely mildly bitter aroma with good foam of about 1?. My Hubby had an Americano which was very hot, so maybe some cold water on the dresser would be an idea. A little pricy but a well made coffee and the take out cups are cool :)

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 2.5 star review: I had lunch here with a friend last week, I work nearby and passed by many times and have admired it, unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. On arrival the waiting staff ignored us so we seated ourselves. We were given a clipboard menu which appeared to be very small, maybe 5 or 6 choices tops. We asked the waitress was there any specials and she told us no, the menu was it. I asked her what the girl at the next table was having and she replied it was one of the specials! We eventually got this menu and both picked the chicken and avocado salad. It came promptly, but was awful! We could not even slice through the avocado with our knives. After some time we got the attention of the waitress who then disappeared. We eventually told another waitress who came back out to tell us the chef said that they were perfectly ripe and that was that! We showed her how we could not even cut them, and soon before our salads were finished a sliced avocado appeared. No sign of a manager around to speak to. No bread comes with the salads which would have been a nice touch. The service was terrible and there is definitely a language barrier. For such a nice restaurant in a good location, it was a real let down. There are so many other spots offering better value and service this is one place I won't be returning to.

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 5.0 star review: This is a delightful little spot. I got lunch here today. The atmosphere is very quaint and European, almost old-fashioned. The food is also delicious. I had a New Yourker sandwich which was great value at €6 and very filling. The staff were also very friendly. My only criticism is that it's quite small and cramped. This however lends to the snygness of the place. All in all, a great little spot for lunch.

Gibson's Deli & Bakery 4.0 star review: We have been to Gibsons a number of times as it's a great place for a classy soup and sandwich. The cafe is warm and cosy and despite it being small, there is never too long a wait for a table. The soup is good quality and the sandwiches are delicious. We have also been for brunch where one time we had the misfortune to have our order forgotten but the management provided free drinks in apology. The hot chocolate is very good, as is the croque monsieur. I would highly recomment recommend this cafe for brunch or lunch.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
