Came here with a friends last night. Food was lovely couldn't fault it. Atmosphere was good, the restaurant was full and there seemed to be a few Christmas parties in. Service could be improved, they do not leave water on the table with you but aren't the quickest to top it up and also our bread and side plates weren't cleared away before our mains arrived. It is not a cheap restaurant but is reasonable enough. However for what we paid (€100 for 2) we were disappointed not to receive any kind of chocolate with our tea or mints with the bill.

Brilliant personal service, Hostess remembered us and went out of her way to get us a better table than we had, which was no mean feat when they were so busy. Food was really good, cooked exactly as we like. Overall a great experience

I don't normally review restaurants, however I wanted to share my experience of darwins, this was not my first visit and in the past I have always been happy with food service however last night that was not our exerience. Firstly the service was extrememly bad, very slow no one waiter seemed to be taking responsibility for our table, one of the servers was sloppy dropping food at the table. I also was not impressed with the food, it was overpriced for what we got, all steaks came with potatoes but you had to pay extra for chips and veg, the portions for veg where tiny, 4 euro for less than a handful of green beans was overpriced. Our bill came to over 200 euro which only inclued 2 glasses of wine, two starters and four maincourses. There was a large party beside us who complained to the managment about the food/service, Darwins need to sort themselves out, I will not be rushing back

I've been 4 or 5 times, for both the pre-theatre and a la carte menus. Food always great - perfectly cooked steak! The lady who owns the restaurant is very welcoming and happy to chat about the menu and food. Good atmosphere and great attention to detail. Although we hadn't mentioned that it was a birthday celebration, the wait staff overheard us mention something and discreetly asked about it, and brought a dessert with a candle for the birthday boy! Great service.

This was our 1st visit to Darwin. We were given a very warm welcome by all the staff. Service was great. Staff couldn't do enough for me when I spilled red wine on my shoes and trousers. The steak was very good and the do great wine by the glass. Definitely be back. Dolores makes one feel very welcome.
