Place has gotten bigger, but still the same in terms of food quality. This visit justified why I keep going back.

The place was packed and we were siting on high stools. The food is ok but nothing out of expectation. The service was slow and we never got the water which the waiter said he was going to bring us.

Darwins continues to remain one of my favourite restaurants and my visit on Friday night yet again proved why it's one of my favourites. I haven't been there in a few months but was greeted like I had been there last week by the waiting staff. The food again is top class steak was mealt in the mouth and the Christmas party season certainly didn't effect the waiting time. The customer service in this restaurant is top class and the most attentive of any other restaurant I have been in. Darwins you never fail .... Another fantastic night.

We visited this restaurant on Friday evening and we brought friends to celebrate a very special occasion. We were so disappointed . The waitress was very scatter brained giggling and laughing for no reason. very odd. There were 6 of us 5 of us ordered the Calamari as mentioned on the menu " 4 Calamari rings ' I hadthese before and they were beautifully presneted and cooked . however , we recieved a plateful each of dried up greasy tiny Calamari absolutley disgusting and disappointing. The six of us had the Rib eye steaks , nicely cooked with a minute size of mash potatoe. Given the cost of the steak it is a bot over the top in cost for very little value. Overall very disappointig especially as it was a special occasion. We wont be back.

A group of us went there for dinner on a Wednesday evening and we had a wonderful meal. On entering the restaurant we were warmly greeted by the staff and shown to our table where we started off the soiree with a lovely bottle of Californian chardonnay called "Menage a Tois"; this came highly recommended by the sommelier and it really was an excellent apéritif. The décor is very striking and Darwin's "Origin of the species" is depicted on the walls, so you may look at your predecessors while enjoying your dinner. The whole idea of the place is that the meats are fully traceable and are personally selected from the in house butcher's at the rear of the restaurant; the origin of the species can be traced! We decided to choose from the A La Carte menu and for starters we ordered a mix of the pan-fried tiger prawns and the buffalo mozzarella; both were beautifully presented and mouth-wateringly tasty. As we were there for the steaks we ordered a combination of different cuts; the New York Strip loin, the T-bone and I had the fillet steak with béarnaise sauce which was perfectly cooked (medium), it was juicy and delicious. My friends also praised their steaks remarking how they were cooked exactly as desired which doesn't always happen. We had a very agreeable red to accompany our mains called "Le Tire Bouchon Rouge", a French Merlot which complemented the steaks very nicely. I should add that there are seafood and vegetarian options available also. For dessert, which was divine, we shared a Darwin's dessert plate for two and an Eton mess. The selection of desserts we sampled were simply fabulous; if you're a chocolate lover like myself you will relish the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream. The Eton mess with winter berries, ice-cream, meringue and raspberry sorbet was as good as it reads; just gorgeous. To finish up the evening we were given shots of sambuca on the house; much appreciated. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience; I highly recommend it!

Staff were brilliant. Food was lovely, fillet steak was lovely but got a few chewy bits which was unfortunate. Lovely overall, would def return.

I Love this restaurant one of my favourites, not sure what went wrong tonight the service was not up to its usual high standard. Our main course was a 20 min wait between starters, when we got out main course I was nearly finished by steak by the time my side of veg came out. Usually the service is top class in this restaurant. Putting it down to a once off as the food was its usual high standard.

Wow. What a perfect evening it was. From the warm greeting from one of the owners to the professional yet very friendly waiting staffs, and to the very good quality food, the evening was faultless. It used to be a antique shop the owner said, the atmosphere is great. Had duck rillette and wild mushroom risotto for starters, rib eye and fish stew for mains and shared de-constructed cheesecake. All were very well presented and tasted great. With a 45 euro bottle of red the bill came at 96 euro. Me and my friend were saying why didn't we come to this place before. Will be back soon and definitely recommend to anyone who likes fine food.
