We brought the kids and their friends here for dinner, and it's a nice child-friendly place to get decent pub food. The childrens meals are good value, although I think they should also do a kids drink and dessert option, as €3 for a mineral and €5 for an ice-cream does bump up the price somewhat. I think we ALL went for the fish and chips, which was lovely, especially the chips which are good and chunky and come in cute metal buckets!

Had been to Dakota before for drinks and loved the atmosphere. Went for meal on a busy Saturday night.Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Had the fishcakes for starters and 2 of us had the chicken for main course. The basil mash was amazing. Dessert was in the menupages deal but there was no problem changing my dessert for a side salad to accompany the main. The house white Pinot Grigio rounded it all off nicely. We were under no pressure and stayed there till late. Thank you menu pages, we will be back.

The food and service were excellent.I had the gosts cheese tartlet andf the pork and both were really tasty. The crumble was delicious. We were all happy with the food. I'll definitely go back again.

Went here for a girl's catch up dinner on Monday. Having been here before I knew the food was quite nice and they had a good selection. I seemed to have forgotten how expensive the drinks are, my tip for Dakota is get a bottle of wine to share! We got the red pepper hummas for starters and i would highly recommend it. just a nice sharing about for two people then leave yours mouth watering for more. The mains were nice, certainly better than average pub food but nothing to jump up and down about. This is by far the type of place I would socialise in at the weekends but for a Monday there was a lovely little buzz about it and suited the group perfectly. The heated seats were fantastic too! Our main gripe came from the service charge as we were a group of six this was added on. The waitress, although very nice was not the quickest at coming over to us. Two of us were left waiting for our drink orders to be taken for so long we ended up going to the bar ourselves. It wasnt busy at all so she had to reason forget the table of six people so often. It bulked up the bill quite a bit which we didnt feel reflected the level of service we received

A group of us called into Dakota on Sunday afternoon. We had been shopping and fancied a sit down a bite to eat. We were really impressed with the quality of the food for "pub grub". We had a couple of starters including the delicious chicken wings they serve...yumm. I also had the fish, it was really light and the new chips they serve are gorgeous. I would definately come back and highly recommend it. The whole ambience of the place is lovely and cosy. Child Friendly too which is great.

Went here on Sunday for lunch. It was pretty dead and a bit drafty. There is no TV upstairs for sport. There were 3 of us and we ordered the chicken, burger and fish & chips. The food was really lovely, good sized portions and reasonably priced. The only let down was I ordered a vodka and white and was charged €8!!! I'm not aware of any other pubs that charge that kind of money for a drink. I would eat there again for sure but will definitely never be drink there again.

Went here with the girls for a bite and a few drinks after work. There's a great buzz in the place and the food is excellent and very good for sharing. We had a selection of their tapas/sharing plates and we didn't need to get a main course afterwards. Yummy!!

Have been to Dakota before and enjoyed it but only getting to post a review on it following my visit there saturday night. The service here is top notch, with the waiter being lovely and friendly even though he was slammed busy. The wings and nachos were great - served as tapas or starters, then large caesar salads as mains. Would highly recommend for pub grub before a night on the town!

Whether I go here with a large or small group of friends or even on my own for a quiet pint or cuppa I always enjoy my visits to Dakota. The staff are friendly, efficient and well informed (be that about their menu or if you want to ask about a cocktail or a recommendation for a drink). Their menu is lovely, familiar options with interesting twists put on them, credit goes to the chefs because any dish I have ever eaten here has been well presented and served to me in good time aswell. The bar takes on a whole new atmosphere at night at the weekend, it has a great buzz and is a great place to start or have your night out.! I always mention Dakota to anyone who's not sure where's good to go in the city centre.

Had a mixture of different appetizer/Tapas dishes. Quality was of reasonable standard. The portion size was excellent. Also enjoyed there various cocktails. Service was a bit chaotic and the place was not overly crowded.

I was here on sat 15/10/11. The atmosphere was great, and the food was fantastic but i was a little let down by the service. we were sitting at the table for 15 mins before anyone came over to us. also it was a little slow inbetween courses. BUT i have to say it was great value and the food amazing!! For starter i had the duck spring rolls, mains had the burger and chips. The chips were really chunky and were homemade. i do recommend Dakota and i will be back and will put the service down to just a bad day.

Went to Dakota with high expectations for Arthurs day. The place was so jammed i wondered when were they going to stop letting people in. The price of alcohol was ridiculous, 5.00 for a pint of guinness that was substandard in quality. Dakota is hardly famous for its guinness so when you have a bad pint and get ripped off....2 vodkas and coke were 13.60. Its 9.10 in my local pub. Overall it was a very bad exprience and i would certainly not recommend.

We came here on a busy Friday evening for an engagement celebration for one of the girl at work. There were no tables available when we arrived, but one freed up quickly enough. We got a few of the tasting plates between us. The wings and tortillas were the favourites. Not bad price wise. Would eat here if I came back for cocktails, but wouldn't return exclusively for the food.

I had lunch here one Sunday afternoon with family. We sat outside on South William Street which was nice. However the service left a lot to be desired. Initially I went inside to inform the staff that we required a waiter. The girl inside said one would be out shortly. Nearly 10 minutes later and no sign. I had to go inside again and ask for service. Finally a waiter came out. The table was dirty which I had to ask for it to be cleaned. Even more shocking were the cups which were badly stained and dirty - we had to send one back for a cleaner one. Also one of the teaspoons was filthy - but as we don't take sugar we didn't complain. Still when the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Although only lunch it was a very tasty char-grilled chicken sandwich. Other members of my the group commented on the tasty luncheon. Overall food was delicious but the poor service meant we didn't leave a tip.

Ate here on a Saturday, were in town at a weird time between lunch and dinner so didn't really know where to try. They say you eat with your eyes, so boy were we left hungry when our plates arrived and only 6 chips hand cut and neatly stacked on the edge of the plate. Not exactly what you would expect from pub grub. I've still marked the food really high though because what we got tasted good. I had the burger and my girlfriend had the fish and chips. If the chef or owners are reading this, in order to keep your presentation pretty, you should serve a small bowl of chips between two in an instance like this, or even make the offer to do so, and your score would instantly go from a 3.5 to a 5

Popped in here for some pub grub before a show. I had a goats cheese sandwich with the most delicious home made chips. The chips were the best part of the dish although I was rather disappointed that there was only 6 chips on the plate. The sandwich was very tasty also and for a quick bite it did the job perfectly!

Always like Dakota for a break after shopping for a nice meal. However I was disappointed by my last visit. It was a busy enough Saturday around 3pm when we visited. We had to struggle to get the attention of the staff to place our order. Most of the staff were around the till area. Disappointed on this visit with service and food but will be back again.

This is the pefect spot to pop in for a casual bite to eat after a days shopping or for after work drinks and food. The atmosphere is bustling and there is a wide selection of food to choose from, light platters or tasty main courses all at good prices. It was so good I've arranged another there soon!

Dakota is a fabulous spot when you want to go to an atmospheric but not crowded bar for a few pints of some food. I went in last Sunday because my wife and I wanted to have a drink but our daughters lovely the homemade fries. The atmosphere is great and no matter how busy the place is, you can always get a seat because it is so spacious. The kids loved their fries as usual and we were able to have a peaceful Sunday afternoon pint reading the papers.

Well, Saturday lunch in an Irish pub ahs changed alot in the last 20 years - for one thing, it's not liquid! Food was really nice, and great ideas for dishes. We had a fish strew, which was lovely but slightly overpowered with fennel, and grilled salmon on a bed of curried chickpeas, which could have been more curried - but over all, very nice, and very different. Oh, and they do the BEST CHUNKY CHIPS IN DUBLIN!!!!

Went her for a friends birthday a few weeks ago. Had been before for drinks but this was the first time to eat here. Food is not bad, typical pub grub but nice. Portions aren't that big so I wasn't full after my main course but decided to fill the hunger with a few cocktails. The decor is great and the sofa's are very comfy. I'd say this place is nicer for drinks than food but sure worth a visit.

Visited the Dakota Bar with a large group of friends. First time here, and impressed with layout and decor. For a change of routine, we decided not to go for a regular meal, but chose to avail of the food platters. They're excellent value and there's quite a selection of tasty morsels on them to suit everyone - absolutely ideal if you're not inform for a full meal. Place got really busy as the night wore on. There was an Oktoberfest promotion on, which brought the crowds in as well. Will go back at some time to try out the bar menu.

I like Dakota, maybe becasue of the comfy sofas:-) anyway went there for dinner with a friend. My friend had fish and chips and I had pasta with tomato which was blant. The chunky chips however were tasty. We also tried their coctails. These were good too and reasonable priced at 5 Euro!! Will be bakc for the cocktails, not sure about the food.

I am a HUGE fan of Dakota for Dinner, casual drinks and paddys day or other type celebrations...we always go to Dakota. I have actually introduced a lot of people to this place. However, the last two times I have went in one was 8.45 and they had stopped serving food despite being on the website, and personal experiences I know it should be 9pm. I then decided Tuesday this week to change my work plans and get in early with my boyfriend and we arrived there about 8pm only to be told they had "just decided for no particular reason to stop serving food". very dissapointing considering we are regulars and a little but unfair and I just cant help wondering if it was lack of management on the night that the chef decided to skip out early...either way will be a while before any f us will go back as Dakota seem to have got very inconsistent with serving times, which is EXTREMELY important to customers.

I was looking for a nice sunny terrace to enjoy some lunch, and eventually found a spot at Dakota. The tasting plates had intrigued me so I was even more surprised to find they have a lunch special which included soup of the day, a choice of tasting plate and tea/coffee for just €7.50 - what a bargain. The soup was mushroom and pretty tasty, but I chose the squid and lime battered prawns and I was most impressed with this, not only by the taste but the size of the portion. Service was very good, all-in-all an excellent choice which I would return to.

Went here early on saturday afternoon. I tend to go here once in a while when I crave chicken wings. At 5 euro a bowl you get a generous portion and they taste really good. Me and my friend also shared the fennel and asparagus salad with goats cheese, which was tasty, but only had three goats cheese balls in it. We were both really disappointed with the chips. They are absolutely HUGE, one chip is nearly the size of a potato. Won't ever get them there again. The service was friendly and relaxed.

First time eating here in a long time and was very pleasantly surprised with the food.Had battered cod and chips which was very tasty and my friend had a burger which he enjoyed. For dessert i had the apple and blackberry crumble and as they were all out of custard it got it foc which was a nice touch. Service was ok had to try and grab the waiters attention on a few occasions and the place wasnt busy at all. Overall enjoyable food and relaxed atmosphere so will return.

I had lunch in Dakota recently and am most impressed with the deal for €7.50. The soup was fresh, homemade & delicious. Chicken wings were spicy, just the way I like them in buffalo sauce. My friends duck breast was huge & well prepared. For all of this to include coffees for the price it is one of the best deals I've come across for a long time. Will be popping in for lunch anytime I am in town from now on!

I came here for the first time with a friend. We were on the look out for a good lunch deal or early bird. We both went for the deal which consisted of the soup which was bacon and cabbage. I really enjoyed this whereas my friend was not a lover of it! Then there was a few options of dishes which proved to much bigger than I anticipated considering it was a lunch menu! My friend had the chicken wings which were beautiful and full of flavour. I had the grilled pita with hummous ans side rocket salad. The hummous was a diappointment, unlike any hummous i had ever tried before. The chunky chips were a hit! and then there was a choice of tea or coffee then also. Very good for your money worth! The waitress although was quite annoying. We wanted to eat in peace without the waitress constantly looking over as if waiting to take everything off our table. Decor and furnishings lovely. Very cosy. Liked overall!

I went to this restaurant with a friend. We where loooking for a good meal deal and we sure did find it. I absoulutley fell for the restaurant it was soooo comfy looking all big chairs and booths all the chairs are totally cushioned. it was such a comfy place that me and my friend where hard pushed to leave! I had the 7.50euro deal. WHich consists of soup, taster plate and tea/coffee. Now i tought the portions would be tiny so i ordered chips which where beyond gorgeus! The best chips ive ever had!! so the portions where actually huge we where soo stuffed when we where leaving. The only problem was the waitress she was somewhat rude. Other then that it was a great meal!

Had very nice food and wine here. good choice of wines for 16e each. We had a sauvignon blanc that we all liked. between us we had hummus, these very unusal potato cake things, handcut chips and the indian chicken bites. good value for the portions and it was something nice to go along with a few drinks.

The menu listed here on Menupages is the old menu for dakota, while it was good, the new 5euro plate menu is much better. I had lovely Tuna Spring rolls (fresh tuna!) and these Indian inspired crispy chicken balls. My friend has the prawns and calamari and it was all very enjoyable. Dakota is also great for it's wine prices (a bottle is like 16 euro!). So between 2, you can get a bottle of wine and 2 plates (which is enough really) for 18euro each! That's not bad!

Popped in here quickly with my hubby just to grab a quick bite to eat before gig we were going to and was so pleasantly suprised - the bar food menu is delicious and really good value for money. We had 2 of the €5 plates to start - I had the hummus - really good served with pitta bread (could have had more pitta though as loads of hummus) and my hubby ordered tuna spring rolls and oh my god I could eat a 100 of these - really light with fresh tuna on the inside which has been cooked perfectly, still slightly pink in the centre. I didnt know what to expect with these but they far exceeded my expectations. Came with a really nice wasabi dip - delish! Then I had steak sandwich - fab and hubby had burger with portabello mushroom - gorgeous, Clean plates all round and am defintely going back!

My husband and I went for the tasting platters as we didn't want a huge meal. Only €5, I got the pita with hummus, delicious and the hummus tasted very fresh as in they made it there. My husband got the breaded tandori chicken, he thought it was ok but way too greasy. He also got a very small coke which came to €3.20, we weren't happy about that but it is a bar after all! We will go back mainly for the €5 platter deal. The service wasn't too good, he had to wait forever standing at the bar to get a barman's attention to pay. It wasn't even busy, sunday afternoon, so no excuse. Still though would go back mainly for the good deal, we are in a recession!

Very pleasant meal for 2 Sunday afternoon. Meal was very tasty and quite good value. They do a standard price of €16.50 for house wines which was good. All starteres described as taster plates are great value at €5. I had battered calamari and prawns which were lovely and generous portion. Main course of cod and wedges was tasty. My wife had rib-eye steak which I had to share!! Service was very slow and a bit unfriendly - I had to walk to bar to request orders and ask for bill etc. Overall cost €67 + tip for 2 starters, 2 main courses and bottle of vino is good value for very fine food.

Went there for a bite to eat with my husband. Arrived at 6pm. I like Dakota at that time, as it has a decent crowd, but not massively noisy and overcrowded like after 9pm on weekends. Hubbie wasn't hungry so we shared a big, terrific steak on baguette, topped with fab carmelised onions. A small but satisfying portion of handcut chips came with it, plus two lovely dips. The waitress helped me with my sandwich order, plus recommended the choc brownie dessert. It BLEW ME AWAY! Sooo choclatey, so luscious yet crunchy with the yummy pecans. Add in four pints of the black stuff, and the total bill was 36.00euro. Definitely a treat, but I felt very happy to pay that. Overall I can say that we'll defo be back. I've heard great things about the sticky toffee pudd....mmmm!

Was disapointed to find a change of menu when I ate here last month. The previous menu with Sweet potato wedges, Haloumi cheese kebabs, Fish cakes, Battered chicken etc was super. Now it seems to be mostly deep fried stodge. PLEASE bring back the old Menu

ive been to Dakota many times but never thought to go there for food, was very pleasantly suprised with the choice & price...very very good prices. The food was reallly good pub grub food-nohting sloppy or greasy. I ordered the humours which came with lots of rocket and bread to dip into & foccia veg + goats cheese which came with the biggest doorstep chips. food was really really good, so tasty & fresh. Highly recommend here, cheap cheerful & good food!!

Pleasant. Went here with a couple of friends this week. Early on a Monday so it was very quiet. I got the chicken sandwich which was extremely filling, as was the steak sandwich. They are served with about 6-8 chips which are neatly placed in a decoration. My other friend got the fish and chips which was fine. Great wine selection and reasonably priced too. We added a couple of bottles and it wasnt overly dear. The staff didnt have much to do on this quiet night and so were quick to take away any empties

Go for the chicken wings, simple as that. They're fabulous. Lacking slightly in atmosphere but great if you get a nice enough day to sit outside. Chips are massively overpriced at €4.50 for one portion.

I always used to go to Dakota so when friends came over I had no hesitation in recommending the burgers to them. I was so disappointed. The burgers came out with cheap buns twice the size of the burger and not the focaccia bread I was expecting! Also I counted 5 small wedges that were the size of chips not the usual big wedges I was used to. When I complained to a waitress, she agreed with me that the food had got worse because of a change in chef! I will never be recommending or going to Dakota again. Maybe due to the recession they are trying to save on portions and lacking the quality they once had but then they should definitely lower their prices! Very disappointing!

I'm very surprised by the comments on the staff here, maybe i just came here on the good days, but ive been here at least 10 times and have never experienced the rude staff. granted i was served by the same waitress 4/5 of those time but i have to say she was extremely attentive and sweet. the food is better than the normal pub grub aswell. I agree with the previous comment on the chips....ah they are simply delish but expensive i really dont care though, they're def worth the expense. the bangers and mash is also a really tasty dish the cous cous and rocket salad is another dish i would def order again. i'd say ignore the other comments and give this place a try if the staff are rude and the food sucks you can tell me i told you so....

My classmates and I arrived here 10 mins after the kitchen has shut but the waitress was very accomodating and arranged for us to get food. The Dakota handcooked chips are not cheap, at e4.50 but my goodness they were tasty. worth every penny! my classmates loved the caesar salad and the chorizo dish. we will definitely be back

I used to be a regular here as I work close by and used to really enjoy the food but I have noticed things going downhill over the years, the service is poor narky waitresses and atmosphere for lunch is poor. I tried the chicken pie for the first time and to say it was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten is an understatement, pastry cap was mush contained 5 pieces of chicken some carrots peas leeks and way too many mushrooms, came out boiling, I wasnt in the kitchen but I would bet it was out of the microwave served in an oval salad/soup bowl half filled. I ate two mouthfulls and couldnt eat another bite when asked was everything ok I said no at which point my plate was removed?? I asked for the bill at which point the service improved what a coincidence. Very disappointing left hungry and very angry, not to worry I wont be back!

I am very disgusted with this place. I am not one of the person who would complain without any reason also because i work in hospitality business myself. I have been to Dakota few times I also had my birthday party there because I thought it is very nice and simple place but what I experienced recently was very troubling. The staff working in this place is extremely rude and arrogant. I was there with my 30 years old friends for non alcoholic drink on Sunday at 8 o'clock and all of us has been asked to show our id's since is not allowed to be in the bar after seven. This surprised me a little but I have showed my id immediately without saying any words as did my friends. What disgust me really was the waiter's attitude and the fact that he was checking our id's at the table about five maybe ten minutes very closely and was making inappropriate comments. Unfortunately this wasn't the first time me or any of my friends has experienced the rudeness of staff working in Dakota including the manager. I am never coming back here.

Had brunch here on Sunday and was presented with possibly the best vegetarian breakfast I have ever had in Dublin city. Service was a little slow and the door which was constantly left open by other patrons was really really annoying as it was very cold! Would return for the fry up though!

Came here one afternoon for a snack and to have a little rest from shopping so we ordered some entrees and drinks. The entree portion size was a lot smaller than anticipated, as the waitress said it was bigger than it was, though the food was nice. The general atmosphere was laid back and chilled out, which was exactly what we needed.

This place has a great atmosphere, perfect for w few drinks with friends and some food before headin out on the town. The food isn't anything to write home about and is quite expensive, the staff are a bit glum looking and not the friendliest but when this places is busy it's worth going just to soak up the atmosphere.

Myself and a friend went for lunch. I had the chorizo sausage, cous cous and feta cheese. It was tasty if a little dry and there could have been a bit more cheese. My friend had a cheese burger and wedges. The burger was huge! And i nicked a taste of her wedges which were lovely. The service was quite slow even though it wasn't busy, we waited for nearly 40 minutes and had only fifteen minutes to scarf down our food before our lunch was over. Would recommend Dakota for a lesuirley lunch. The staff are very friendly.

I have eaten here twice at lunchtime. Had the club sandwich and chunky chips and the burger. The club sandwich is very good. The service here though i found on both occasions to be appalling. Very hard to get their attention to have our orders taken. Although the food is very nice the service would put me off going back there at lunchtime.

Maybe it’s wasn’t the inventive way of serving the side order of chips or the choosing of an inappropriate bread bun?, but the chef at Dakota was distracted last night form producing good food. I ordered a burger, but the actual burger was charred, stale and tasteless. When I sent it back it took 3 attempts to do so. After much inspection by different waiters of the sad piece of meat and repeating that it was inedible, a new and tastier one came with an apology. The whole experience though made me think. Dakota is no better or worse than many other eating places in town. We need better chefs in Dublin who take pride in how they cook the food we pay to eat. Staff should learn the art of accepting complaints. Side orders should not be fanfare of a meal.

Nice and trendy but a little on the dark side. This is another one of Dublin's amazing little streets. I had wine there and the kids had fizzy drinks but definitely the bill was a lot more than usual. Haven't eaten there yet but if the drinks bill is anything to go by!!

I just had lunch here with some friends. When I walked in I wondered why the place was so empty at such a busy time - I soon found out. The lunch took about 30 minutes to arrive - not good when you're due back at work. I had the chowder, which was full of fish, but also full of octopus. Not sure if tentacles are to everyone's taste? One friend had the burger, which was very dry, and another had the bangers and mash, which were also dry because it didn't come with gravy. The food was well presented, but unfortunately the taste doesn't match up.

Was here for a Valentine's Lunch with my girlfriend. We arrived at 12:30 but unfortunately were the only people in the place (thankfully others arrived as time moved on). We enjoyed a good selection of tapas including chorizo, olives and Feta cheese with garlic toasts, tandoori battered chicken with chili & ginger mayo and a couple of other tapas dishes including a mixed salad. All in all, the food was reasonable priced and tasty. The ambience let the meal down as it was so dark and empty, we felt a bit out of the loop of the real world outside. Also had a burger here one evening about 6:30 and that was very good and juicy. With more atmosphere, I'd recommend the place more.

Came here for a quiet saturday lunch. Found the interior to be quiet dark. Service was quick and we all chose the steak with one of our group chosing a soup as starter which actualy came out 2 min after the steak. Also felt the serving could have been a little more generous with the sides. But all proved very tasty

Tops for Sunday Brunch. I have been to Dakota for meals on weekends several times as they tend to have good bites and nice soups. 2 of us decided to try it for a Sunday Brunch as our regular was backed out the door, and it was lovely. They have a nice big fry of course and a really lovely vegetarian fry with portobello mushrooms, onions, and lentil cakes with some lovely sweet potato chips(as well as the mandatory eggs, beans, tomato and a loads of toast). In a city that does not cater to the non or minimal meat eaters, the brunch menu was a breath of fresh air, and my partner enjoyed his meaty fry as well. The juices to accompany are a bit too expensive for my liking, but I'll be back for the lovely breakfast.

Fairly typical City Centre non specialist pub. Not really a pub, not really a restaurant. Menu is interesting but brief. Food is ok - more appearance than quality or content. Alright for a quick snack and a beer but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to eat or drink.

Decided to have the soup here, it was lemon chicken soup! Decided to give it a try, the taste of lemon was so strong that we couldn't drink it. When I told the waitress she said there was nothing she could do, however after about 15 minutes she came back to us and said the chef would make us veg soup instead which was nice. Other than this, the place is actually quite nice but they could do with expanding the food menu.

A great place for a few glasses of wine and tasty food after work. We order several plates and a few side orders and everyone delves in. The wine is great value, the chorizo is gorgeous. The atmosphere is buzzing. If you're lucky, you'll get one of the round tables which are for great sitting around, chatting and sharing all the different dishes. Good portion sizes, overall great value.

Just stumbled across this place as I was walking down the street. Was very impressed with the atmosphere and decor. My boyfriend had the classic cheeseburger, very good, while I had the pasta, which was a bit greasy. The service was relatively slow, but friendly.

Have been here twice the first time was great the food was fantastic but has seemed to change since then. We ordered the exact same as the last time only this time to be disappointed. Although the Caesar salad seemed bigger the chicken was over cooked and croutons stale. The bangers and mash have a red onion jam on top of the horseradish mash, which was fine the last time only this time the mash was on a bed of pesto, to many flavours that don’t go together. Really disappointing because of the fab meal the first time round.

Went to Dakota after work for some leaving drinks. My colleague had called ahead and asked the staff to reserve some tables for us @5, we arrived at 5.15 and the tables hadn't been reserved - the staff were unapologetic. We decided to stay for a while and move on as others were coming in to join us. The staff were not at all helpful - almost regarding a large group as a nuisance. The platter of finger food was lukewarm when it eventually arrived, and some of the potato wedges were not even fully cooked. Will definitely not be going back to Dakota - mainly due to the attitude of the staff

I stopped in with a friend there after work for a couple of drinks and a shared platter of food, and was very impressed by the quantity and quality of what we got. For €14 we got an overflowing plate full of different types of finger food and dips. The service was quick and the atmosphere was very friendly. We were both impressed and full by the time we finished. We'll definitely be going back.

I've had lunch here about 5 times in the past year. I've always enjoyed my food - either pasta or other vegetarian options. Very tasty, freshly-made with good quality ingredients, unusual to find this in a busy city-centre bar. My partner also enjoyed the Caesar Salad or more meaty dishes. Service has been fine and it's a great room. Good value for money in a great location. And as others have pointed out, their wines are probably the best value in town.

Had an early evening meal in Dakota last night. While their leek and seafood chowder was very good, the rest of the food was very average and would not entice me or my dining companion back again. Service was just ok and prices were expensive for the quality.

Stopped off here one sunny afternoon as the huge front doors/windows were all open, and the comfy looking seats and airy interior made a nice change from all the other more cramped cafes along the street with awkward wooden chairs. Was then surprised to find that I was in Dakota, as it's a bar I would generally not have much time for. Have to say the food was lovely, had salmon sandwiches, a toasted club sandwich and penne with salmon (not all for me!). All very reasonable. Rather slow service, was maybe 25 mins for a sandwich, but we weren't in a rush. Would still avoid it as a drinking hole, but for lunch it's a nice stop.

For a pub this is great food, I am a regular drinker here but have never been in the mood for food but considering the rain today we just popped in instead of looking for somewhere else to eat. My friend got a feta sandwich which looked good and no complaints from her, I only got a scone which I was delighted to learn was made fresh that morning. It came with jam and cream and butter and was warm and a nice big one too. If they can impress me with just a scone I will def be returning for some proper food.

Went there on a Saturday night, just after they stopped serving food, we ordered a drink (after the staff stopped chatting to each other) My friend asked for a coke with no ice, when the drinks were brought, there was ice in the glass, but the waitress left to quick to tell her! I managed to get another ones attention and she brought a glass without ice, it wasn't even put on the table, while another waitress took it away ;-/ We left it that way.... It is a nice bar with nice places to sit, but the price/quality standard is not too high.

I like Dakota as a bar (During the day at least for a quite drink) and have often been in for lunch. The food is excellent, the portions may look small but they are very filling and there's a decent selection on the menu. It's not the cheapest but reasonable considering it's location. The only problem I have is with the staff, they're unattentive, slow and seem more concerned with chatting to each other than attending to customers. I was waiting 15 mins just to see a menu. They also told me they accept American Express cards, when I went to pay I discovered they didn't which could have been quite embarrassing if I didn't have money with me.

Small portions, rude staff, dirty glass and dirty toilets. I would say avoid! Have given the place more than one chance but every time I go there is something wrong. Two separate visits - both times got a dirty glass, another time I went my wine was corked and the staff’s attitude was "don’t blame me!” I’m never going again.

I decided to have lunch on a Saturday afternoon in Dakota. The atmosphere is great and relaxed. There are loads of beers and wines available. I had the Wild Mushroom Risotto. The portions look small but they aren't at all - they are very very filling. The Risotto was perfect, just the right consistency and it tasted amazing. The staff are very friendly and promote a relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely go back for a spot of food anytime.

Good place to grab lunch, or food to accompany a few drinks in the evening. Burgers and sandwiches are v tasty and reasonably priced. Nice place for a few drinks as well.

3 minerals, 1 wine, 2 coffee, 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert, good service, pleasant staff and decent music all for €50. That’s value to me!! But all that let down by the condition of the toilets. When will publicans and restaurateurs realise that the condition of the toilets is paramount.

Although the portions are a little small, they have a great selection of foods at reasonable prices. Lovely atmosphere - great decor.
