I visited Chez Max recently for the first time and it went straight to my Dublin top ten! We were in a group and were seated in the lovely upstairs terrace, where the atmosphere created by the fairy lights, trees and comfortable seating was really relaxing. The French menu was nice and varied. I had the frogs legs in garlic butter to start followed by sea trout, both of which were delciious. Other favourites were the french onion soup and the steak which was really tender and accompanied by a fantastic bearnaise sauce. Service was also top notch and all in the group were very impressed.

This is a very nice French restaurant. I had escargots to start followed by chicken forestier. Both were delicious and accompanied by two excellent wines, white for the snails and red for the chicken. The music and ambience is very attractive and welcoming which for someone who often dines alone is quite important.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant. This was my third visit to this restaurant. There were three of us and we all tried something new. We had the onion soup, smoked chicken salad and the goats cheese pastry. We were all very satisfied with what we had, it was my first time to have a chicken salad with pears and it was very nice! For main course, two of us had bavette (with blue cheese and pepper sauce), and the other had rabbit. Again we all enjoyed it. For dessert I had the strawberry tart, my fiance had creme brule and the other person had the apple tart. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant and will return, so as I can keep trying out some more French dishes!! The atmosphere was buzzing, the food was delicious and I look forward to the next time I return.
