Fast food chinese with lots of seats and great value. Great spot for a chinese and favoured by those whose appetite is whet with a few drinks. Good prices and huge portions ideal for sharing. Overall a cheap and cheerful place.

As someone who thinks that generally the food in Chinese Restaurants is overpriced for what you pay in relation to what you pay for a take away of the same food. I always find that you can never go wrong in Charlies. With this Charlies being my favourite. The food is always lovely and tasty, with quick service and polite staff. Great value for money and perfect for when you want some good proper food but haven't got a couple of hours in which to eat it.

If you like cheap and cheerful chinese food then this is the place for you! Their menu offers all the classic chinese dishes and they get them out fast! Charlie's may have a reputation for being somewhere to go after a night out but it is also worth a try if you're on a budjet and would like a nice evening out. Don't expect anything much different from your local takeaway but what with it being in town you still get the restaurant experience! My favourite is the chicken chow main and they also do a nice 4 in 1 if you're feeling indulgent!

I dont think this charlies is as good as the original or any of the others for that matter but that could be because its newer and still not quite there. Nice inside though. Food is good for the price, spring rolls are as good as you get around dublin and its an ideal alternative to McDonalds or something like that. Whats not to like about Charlies, its cheap and decent food.

GREAT place to go to get food untill about 3am. After a night out and you're hungry go here. Prices are dear, especially just for a 3in1 but believe me...its well worth it.

The place isn't the nicest looking inside, but the food is fast and fills you up, however its overpriced for todays Dublin. The staff here though are very very friendly! Its perfect for that Chinese food craving after a nightclub! :)

Went here yesterday after work for a bit of fast food. The food is adequate- what you'd expect from a place like this but the prices are way too high!! Friendly staff though and the restaurant is very clean!

I enjoy the food here. That is pretty much all I can say. The place is very basic, the service is basic, but if you want some yummy chinese food late at night then this is the place. And a pretty good location too, Sometimes overpriced fancy restaurants can be overrated, and if you feel the same way and are in it for a decent meal, if not just for take-away, then this is the place to go.

Cheap eats with expensive price! The food is very poor, both in quality and taste. I swear, I ordered bbq ribs and got bones drenched in brown bbq sauce.... confusing really. I really wouldnt mind but for the price, it's just crazy!? It's truely food for when your drunk..... But then again what isn't! Then try it when stone cold sober,I think they get their chips about right!?

I love all of the Charlie's restaurants for a post booze-up snack (or feast!!). The service is quick and efficient. The staff are not overly friendly, but that can be explained by how busy the place is at night. The food is always fresh and cooked infront of you. I am yet to have a bad experience here. I do think it's a bit pricy for a glorified take away, but it won't stop me going there!

Charlies is ideal after a night out and you fancy something to eat. obviously it isnt the best chinese food as it is fast food! One thing I always notice about any food I have had from here is that it always tastes very peppery (in all charlies not just 4!) Also, for a fast food reference, it's not exactly cheap in comparison to other chinese restaurants in the city. However, it opens late and you don't have to wait too long to get your food.

I visited here for the first time after a night out with friends who visited from Cork. I was surprised to find that to get curry sauce on chips cost €2, and complained to the woman behind the counter. She snatched my bag of food back from me, and taking money out of the register, threw the cost of my meal on the countertop. My protests that I didn't want a refund but was merely shocked at the cost went ignored, and she went about her work while totally blanking me. I was shocked and after trying to speak to her for a good 5 minutes, I asked for the manager's name and number. Still she pretended I wasn't there. I asked her to stop being so rude, all I wanted was the manager's name and number which I am entitled to, and she said (and I quote) 'You're rude- Chinese have feelings too!' I was thoroughly shocked that she had made this tiny thing into a racial issue. Gobsmacked, I asked again for the manager's name, to which she replied ' I am the manager'. After a total of about 15 minutes of repeating my request, I gave up and left. I accept it is a place people generally frequent after a few drinks & they will have to deal with some hassle, but I am appalled at how I, as a customer in their establishment, was treated. Needless to say, I will never be going back, nor will any of my friends who were with me that night, nor anyone else I have told about this event.

To summarise, the service and atmosphere might be lacking at times, but the food and value more than make up for it. I am a regular patron of the place and I will definitely keep going there.

I don't have great comments about this chain of restaurants but only one good thing I could comment, it's my only favourite dish in any of these restaurants--Laksa, a malaysian, spicy, fish based soup with noodles. Reasonable price for the dish and quite tasty. Service was never good and place is full of drunk people.

cannot beat the atmosphere...the place is always full of interesting looking drunk people...food is great...always tastes nicer when they serve it on a plate instead of in a plastic container...im a big fan of the chicken balls myself..and if you drizzle a bit of sweet and sour sauce on them its delish...i once had a dream about a portion of chicken balls from charlies....BB

Seven of us visited here and while it's pretty plain, the most important thing, the food, is excellent. Everybody enjoyed their food which was very cheap. I had breast of chicken and fried rice with an orange for €9.80. Now, where would you get that? Would definitely go back again.

I've always loved Charlies. The food is always top quality. The Service is good. They're always friendly and bring your meal to your table. I think the curry sauce can be a bit too salty sometimes but I've never had any other complaints. Always a winner when your doing some hard-core shopping and need to recharge.

Not fine dining obviously, but still a favourite of mine. The sweet and sour pork is nice and sweet, just the way I like it, but I'd give the curry dishes a miss. Singapore noodles are very good, and the chicken balls, although small, are delicious. Great place to fill up at the end of a night out.

Charlies is like the place to go after clubbing nowadays. The serve asian food, in malaysian style. So it's slightly different from the usual asian food. All of them are well located around the club area in the city, which is probably why. Good thing is that you don't have to wait for long and you're bound to hit one of the Charlies around the corner. Ideal place to go when you're on a night out!

I have to say compared to Fan's on Dame street this restaurant is out of this world, my partner and I ordered food in Fans and when we got served it was muck over cooked and unedible, but we made our way to Charlie Four on George's street and the food was perfectly cooked and delicious. a definite 4 stars from us. Also SueMae is an excellent Host

Call in here about once every 10 days or so and have the chicken and hot garlic sauce or the beef and hot garlic sauce, and it is the most amazing food. I have tried other restaurants for the same dish but am never impressed so always have to go to town. So disappointing that we have to go to town for it but never disappointed. Great food, and value for money and guaranteed that we will be back.

Went there to get a takeaway. Had the prawn curry noodle. Quite nice. I usually ordered traditioanlly Malaysian food e.g. Nasi lemak, stir fried rice flat noodle, pork with radish, curry noddle & roast pork with rice. The price is reasonable too & a good palce to get a quick meal.

What to expect?? I can't believe anyone could knock this place. I mean you have to know what you're entering into before you walk in, yes that's very true but I mean value for money! Possibly the cheapest place in Dublin to eat. To be honest no it's not a sit in restaurant and I think most people venture there when on a night out (early or late) but who would go for a meal in such a bright atmosphere anyway?? Well not me anyway. FINALLY - Charlies is definitely good and I mean good Chinese food!! And for five euro for a three in one do we expect the taste to be mind blowing? Hello it's only Chinese........

Finished Salsa lesson at 21:30 -- came across this place that was open and cheap, and decided to give it a go. Wonton soup and Thai chicken curry for 11€, that's cheaper than a coffee and a roll in Starbucks. Food was unimpressive, very hot in temperature but tasteless -- or is one a consequence of the other? The Wonton soup was ok, although once you had eaten the wontons, the broth might as well have been from a packet. The green curry was watery, but you get loooads of chicken, so if you're "just" hungry and don't mind leaving half of your plate behind because it tastes like a Staedtler eraser, then this is the place for you. It's not the place for me, though.

We went here with a group of friends last Friday as all the other places were filled. I ordered a spring roll which had meat inside. I had better, but the main beef in satay sauce and rice was surprisingly nice. The athmosphere is not for a fancy dinner, but for a quick bite with friends, and the choice of dishes is wide, so will find something what you will like...

A great alternative to Chinese Take away. I'm Asian and find the food here very close to home! Maybe that's why it is not so appealing to the Irish. But this is great food. It might be a bit pricier than Take Away, but quality and hygiene beats it. Service is rather fast, and portion is a bit more than average serving. Food is closer to Asia (as their name suggests), the likes of Singapore and Malaysia rather than food from China, which is what MOST Chinese Take Away are. So they are rather different.

Nothing special about this restaurant. Food & atmosphere more like Chinese take-away quality. For the same price, you can get a better quality and quantity at the Chinese restaurants along Parnell Street.

Great only because it opens late. A favourite haunt for a come-down after a night out.

I was delighted to see them advertising a real favourite of mine - Laksa - in the window. I ordered a bowl and got nothing resembling a Laksa, it was some sort of soup with no cocunut milk in sight, the key ingredient. If I know more about asian food then the people who cook it then thats bad.

Big portions and cheap. Beef isn't the best (in fact it's more of an acquired taste). Can't fault the veg, rice or sauces. Service is quick and friendly.

Fairly average food that matches the price. Fine if you are after a quick bite of something other than burgers/pizzas but definitely not outstanding. The curry prawn mee was far too chilli. The nasi lemak was satisfactory but on the smaller side.

Hmmm, what can you say about the infamous Charlies chain of Chineses except that you would only be eating a 3 in 1 there at 3.00am on Saturday night on your way home.

Didn't like the food and atmosphere at all. Will definitely not going back as there are enough good restaurants just round the corner.

I am a big fan of Charlie’s but not this one. Went there last week and would rate this one bottom out of all four. I had chicken rolls to start and they were frozen inside although this was rectified promptly. My boyfriend’s ribs were just fat. The atmosphere was cool. I think I will be sticking to Charlie’s 2 in future.

Typical Chinese diner? Not quite! The food here varies..Depending on the order. Like most of the other Charlie’s the dishes taste similar though on one particular occasion when my family ordered Singaporean noodles it was extremely salty and some of the Malaysian dishes are a tad watered down but nothing a homegrown would not pick up. It still does it job! Lunch offers going at e8 are value for money..

Great for what it is. Cheap and cheerful and fills the stomach. Portions are huge, and you can have chips with everything (if you're a heathen like myself).

Great food for under €10 and nice BIG portions too. I've never had a bad meal here and I've eaten in it well over 20 times (sober)! My favourite "better eat something before the beer" place in Dublin! Fast, clean, friendly, consistent and great value! There sound be a Charlie's on every corner in Dublin! Ok maybe not!

It's fast food but probably the best fast food in the city. Charlies is open late and the service is quick. They also do take away but sadly no delivery as yet.

I kind of only go there after being on a night out, but it's good fast food and it's cheap enough because you can sit in too.

Chinese Fast Food can be dodgy, but this is some of the best Chinese Fast Food I have had in the city centre. It's perfect for the quick bite, but it fills a gap really well. I had the duck which was great, it tasted so nice and it was crispy but not too crispy. As long as you are not expecting the upper most, top class Chinese then this will suit you down to the ground. They also do some really nice Thai dishes....

I normally go for Charlie’s Two at Temple Bar.. The food is so good and tasty.. At least once a week I would normally go for the Kueh Teow here and to be honest it's the best so far I had! Very friendly staff and really big portion I have everytime... :) It's the best!

For a fast food restaurant. It’s quite good. 10euros for a full meal severed on the table. The best thing is it opens to very late.

The sign on the door says oriental fast food. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Until the very early hours.
