Have eaten in cafebardeli some many times but not recently, until went for an early dinner with work colleagues. Cannot fault this place - the menu is great, ever changing specials, excellent wine list. On this occasion, I had the bread and dips to share, followed by the tiger prawn pasta, which was so tasty and loaded with prawns, was so full after, could have just had the small portion really!

This is a wonderful restaurant and brilliant for a date. The atmosphere is very classy and the decor rustic while they maintain their prices relatively low. The food is simple pizza/pasta and their salads are always very interesting. Any salad with roasted vegetables is a sure winner. The portions sizes are very generous and they give you the option of ordering a small salad or a large one. The small salad fills me if I share a starter. The wine is good and available in half litre and one litre carafes which is a nice touch!

I ate here for the first time at the end of July. I love the place! Food was delicious, service was excellent and it was great value for money. I will definately be returning. The desserts are to die for. I would recommend the Chocolate cake.

Went here yesterday evening for dinner. Got there just after 6.30 so we got seated straight away, it does get really busy later on though so we got there just in time! We both had the spaghetti with the tiger prawns - possibly the best prawns I've ever eaten and there were loads of them! For desert we got the desert platter thinking we'd like a "little" taste of everything - what we got was enough to possible fill 4 people - it was great value for 10e, considering a single desert is about 7e. The service did slow down a bit as it got really busy but we were in no rush so it didn't bother us. Will definitely go back again!

Went here last Friday night with the other half and 2 mates. We've been here before and it always does what it says on the tin. All of us had the chorizo in red wine to start and it was absolutely delicious, although very filling. For mains 2 of us had the smoked chicken pasta, which was nice, but not as creamy as I remember it from before. However the portions were huge and I came nowhere near finishing it, so if you are looking for a big feed, you won't be disappointed. The others both had pizzas and cleaned their plates, so I guess that speaks for it all. One had dessert and we all had espressos. We must have had at least 2 bottles of wine...maybe 3. Anyway, the bill came in at 90 Euro per couple including tip, so fair enough. Service was efficient and friendly. There were loads of people there, so the atmosphere was buzzing, but I think some of their other venues like in Ranelagh and Grafton St are nicer.

Ate here on a Wednesday night. Place was quiet however the food was very good. We just had pasta and dessert. I tasted all 3 pasta dishes and they were all very good. I had the prawns and spaghetti, pasta was cooked properly (al dente). The tiramisu was pretty good although not excellent, too much sponge and not enough marscapone but thats a minor quibble. The house Italian red was light and drinkable. Didn't have any problems with the service but as I said it was quiet. Will definitely be going back., EDIT: Have to revise down my rating on the food by have a star. I returned here twice in the meantime. The food was good but some of the dishes are not as good as others. However I still think it's quite a solid resto

No problem getting a table and being seated. The atmosphere very laid back and relaxed. The food was excellent and of very high quality. Only negative would be the service was a little slow but nothing to be getting annoyed about

I love going here for lunch. It's really affordable and always tasty. Love the mixed bread starter and the Broccoli, Feta and Chick pea salad, always order it! The chocolate brownie is amazing, great for sharing!

I have eaten here regularly for the last couple of years, it's always a laid back eat out option. Last few visits have been really awful though. Food has lowered in quality in my opinion, and I think they are spending less on their products or something. Staff not been great either so I'm afraid I won't be frequenting here anymore. Lots of nice early bird options around these days though so I won't be stuck for somewhere else at least.

The salad here are gorgeous - love the broccoli, feta and hazelnut one. It's comfortable if you get a decent seat by the wall and if it's not too busy - can get loud. Staff tend to be quite efficient and friendly so generally good all round and not too bad price wise (medium salad is €8 and it's loads - you wouldn't need a large). Probably more a place for lunch - I would go on a romantic date or anything... not cosy enough

Had to wait a while for drinks order to be taken, despite the place being quiet for a saturday night. Service was friendly though. Food is adequate, and fairly priced. we had pizza which was okay. We ordered a large salad to go with it, and that was pretty good, too(beetroot, walnut, cheese, bacon). I'd avoided cafe bar deli for a long time, it used to get so busy, but overall I think i'd still give it go, and will probably be back sooner next time.

I over did this place when it opened, then it became the place for large groups on a night out so tried to avoid outside of that. So really welcome the menu shuffle. I can bore of pizza/pasta offerings quite easily but their salads have always been fantastic but I was delighted to see "real food" as an addition like spannish stew stew, and chicken stuffed with spinach on mash. They now offer a whole coeliac friendly menu too, which is great. as good value as it always was too.

went here for a quick bite after work on a Friday, got seated no problem, and service was very good. Had a goats cheese pizza and a morracan slad to share with my friend, both very tasty. It is reasonably priced, and great for a casual tasty meal.

Ever since the recession hit hubbie and I been reeling in our lushness and frequenting places for good qualitycheap eats. Cafe Bar Deli on George's Street had fast become a favourite with a good variety of starters, excellent salads, pizza's and pasta dishes. They also did excellent specials which included dishes like moroccan tagine's... hearty, comfortable sort of dishes. Went here last Friday night and was really dissappointed. The menu is completely pared down... what once had great choice for every palate has been scaled back considerably. The selection of starters is completely unappealing with most of my favourites being axed..... and they had no special main dish on which leads me to believe that has been axed too. Boo hoo.... it's Friday and I don't know where we'll go!! By the way service was as good as usual and the place was buzzing. Toilets need serious attention though.... always rate the facilities!

Went back here for the first time in over a year at least. Sunday night and the place was very busy. The tables are very close together and as a large table we were a bit cramped. Everyone had pizzas and overall were very happy with both the quality and the price. Table wine was awful stuff though! I had the spicy sausage pasta and it was fine, nothing to shout about but pasta rarely is! Would go back here again for a cheap and reliable mid week or Sunday feed.

Visited here with 2 friends last Thursday evening. The restaurant was almost empty. Nevertheless, it took 25 minutes before a waiter bothered to come to our table to take our order. I had a goats cheese pasta special and when it arrived (about 5 mins after the order was taken), the pasta was so overcooked that it had actually fallen to pieces in my plate. The pine nuts listed on the specials board were nowhere to be found and the sauce was bland. My friend had a pizza which she described as being just as bad and my other friend wasn't impressed with her meal either. It didn't even work out to be that cheap - €15 would get you a veggie pasta dish in even the priciest establishments in town. Nothing could ever tempt me to come back in this place again as long as I live. Yuk!

Very handy spot for a quick bite or for an afternoon chat. Salads are very fresh and good especially the one with feta cheese and broccoli and I liked the pizza as well. Even if at first the big open space might look like a railway station waiting room, after a couple of visit you realize that it actually has its own appeal. I'm a regular on saturday afternoon, and i will not change this habbit

Have always heard sooo much about Cafe bar deli and was extremely curious but very disappointed. Tables are tiny and my pizza was tasteless. I got the wholemeal base but it was extremely dry maybe a bad choice on my behalf as my friend really enjoyed her pizza and it looked so much juicer and tastier than mine. The early bird has very little choice and three other tables opted away from the early bird when we were there, cunning ply !!! However the waitresses and waitor were very nice.

I love Cafe Bar Deli for an impromptu eat out. They're never too busy, and if you're left waiting on an unreserved table, it's only for 10 minutes or so. The staff are always milling around but easy to flag down. The food is always delicious. I love Italian and they've made a gorgeous little haven on Georges street. I love the half bottle Carafes they give with wine, which is also gorgeous. Olive entrees are delicious too. Will definitely return for more.

Managed to get a table here after most restaurants were full on the saturday night. Got a great table up on the balcony looking over the restaurant. I had the caesar salad with the chicken and bacon. Chicken was overcooked and as a result very dry. My friends had the prawns which I was told were very good and the mussels with pasta which were also delicious.

Met a friend here for a quick lunch and cofffee. We both had the medium goats cheese pizza which was adequate size and delicious as always. There are lots of new items on the menu which I am keen to try but the goats cheese pizza is always so good I find it hard to change! Service good as always.

We had a quick and fast dinner here. Dinner was two pasta dishes and we had a bottle of their house Malbec. The pastas, (Paparedelle with chicken in sundried tomato sauce and Pasta Arabiatta) were very good and portion sizes "dinner size" were more than enough. The wine was pretty bad, but I guess thats our fault for choosing it. Service as always, was excellent. Prompt, friendly and super efficient. On the critical side, it seems to be the place was a little quiet, and thats the first time I have seen it quiet. Whilst dinner was spot on, I cant help but feel paying 15 euro for a pasta is a bit much these days. The worst thing for me though was the state of the toilets. They were dirty, and soap dispensers on the wall were discontinued, with bottles of handsoap on the sinks. They still had the "two euro" price tag on them from the two euro shop across the road! I wonder have they taken their eye off the ball in terms of managing this place.

First Customers here for lunch on Saturday the 27th. This meant that service was relatively quick. Had pasta arraibiatta which was very tasty but as I was quite hungry I found the portion size small. The Chai latte I ordered was very good too. Although the restaurant wasn't packed it was very noisy as there were a lot of babies crying. I found it to be a good place for a quick casual bite and for that I would return.

Yesterday, a friend and I met for a post-work meal. We wanted somewhere central and nice, not too expensive. This is exactly what we got at Bewley’s. The service was friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout. The famous tea-room décor doesn’t disappoint. I had the Hawaiian pizza. It was generous and really lovely. My friend had the penne, which was creamy and served with just the right amount of Parmesan. The steak sandwich I’ve had on prior occasions was also yummy. The hustle and bustle of Grafton street add atmosphere and it’s so central! Highly recommend for a similar lunch/quick dinner meal.

I normally love this place and was thrilled when I found out they were doing the ticket Thursdays with Dublin bus, meaning we could order a main course and get another free. But I can say that I will never go back even if they were giving out free food. We walked in with another couple and were seated at the same time downstairs, it took 15mins for the waiter to take our order and then another 20mins for him to bring our starter, the bread and dips, which he only remembered after I inquired as to where it was. Meanwhile the other couple which sat down at the same time had received their main course and had paid and left by the time our mains came out. My pizza was nice but my boyfriend's one looked like a dogs dinner, it was meant to be the spicy beef. There were half cloves of garlic in the pizza and onions seemed to be the main ingredient. Absolutely horrible. The waiter only apologised for the long wait after I said it to him. Just like the reviewer before said they seem happier to talk amongst themselves then actually look after customers. I will NOT go back again.

Cafe bar deli is a great place for catching up with friends. The food is usually well priced and tasty, I have never had a bad experience here, bar from tonight. Three of us ate here tonight, we were left waiting to order for twenty mins. We shared the bread and four dips to start which was really tasty, 5 big slices of crusty bread and 4 bread sticks came with the dips, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, pesto, red pepper pesto and another dip we couldn't make out but was lovely all the same (bean based????). There are no descriptions of the dips on the menu. We then all got medium salads, this is one of the things i love about this place, you can order different size salads, meaning you're not too full and it doesn't cost alot!!! I had the feta, sugar snap, hazlenut salad. I nearly always have it, its delicious. But today was dressed in a dressing that contained mustard, i hate mustard and would have ordered something else if i had seen this on the menu (it was not on the description). We shared an ice-cream sundae, which consisted of soft-scoop ice-cream, loads of fudge sauce and loads of chopped hazlenuts.........not amazing. I finished with an espresso which was prefect. The fact that noting is properly described on the menu is very annoying. Also the service was not great, firstly the wait to order, then another wait to ge tthe bill and another wait to pay only to be told that the credit card machine was down, no appology or prior warning. I wanted to let the manager know of my small complaints but she was nowhere to be found. Staff were much more interesed in chatting amongst themselves than actually serving tables. Its a pity because I really like the food and overall value of this place.

Cafe bar deli is a great place to catch up with friends- its always buzzing and the food is great. My girlfriends and I recently availed of the 15 euro menu which can't be beaten on value. This offered a choice of 2 starters, 3 mains & 2 desserts. For starters we chose the bread and dips which are always yummy. Unfortunately the gluten free bread was frozen so I had to choose the soup instead but this was a minor blip. The girls had pizza for main course and the staff were happy to do the pasta dish with gf pasta for myself. Likewise for dessert they offered me gf chocolate fudge cake even tho' it wasn't on the set menu while the girls tucked into huge chocolate brownies and icecream. With a litre of house wine at just over 20 euro you can't go wrong. A great place to go for a mid week treat!

I had a very disappointing meal here on saturday night. 7 of us ate here and i was the only disappointed one, so perhaps I just made the wrong menu choice. For starers I had "Baked field mushrooms with chilli ricotta & rocket" which was ok but a bit bland. For main course I had the crab, buttered leeks and creme fraiche pizza which was horrible. It was completely smothered in the exact same sauce that was served with my mushroom starter. A giant mess of sauce. No taste of crab off it at all. I quested with the waitress if I'd received the right pizza but she said yes. I also complained afterwards that it was horrible and was offered no discount. I barely touched it. I would've asked for a replacement dish except I was completely put off eating by it. Definitely wont be back.

I've eaten here many times over the years, and always recommend it to visitors as a cheap & cheerful option, but I must concur with other reviews and say it isn't what it used to be. I had an early visit here, and it wasn't busy, yet the staff (including the 'Supervisor') were hard pushed to find a smile. They took my favourite potato & rosemary pizza off the menu some time ago, so I ordered a tomato/mozzarella/basil with an extra topping of potato. It arrived with 10 measly little slivers of potato (approx 1 per pizza slice) and 2 giant basil leaves. I thought this was a little mean. It was also a tad dry, but it took me ages to get the attention of a waitress for some oil. To get a small pizza and beer for under Euro15 is still an achievement in this city (unless anyone can offer any other options?), but I absolutely draw the line at 7 quid for a brownie. What's that about?! I also must agree with the comment regarding the toilet facilities, which are poor bordering on the point of horrible. Malodorous, with ill-fitting locks on the cubicles, no hot water and out-of-order handryers - these need serious updating. Could definitely do better.

Response:
The potato & rosemary pizza was my favourite as well, I was very disappointed when it went. Potato on pizza works suprisingly well!

Visited Cafe Bar Deli fairly regularly over the past years, mainly because my friends love this place. I personnally feel it is overrated: the food is good, particularly the pizzas, but the place is always packed, you cannot make reservation and service is slow and not very friendly. And it's fairly expensive if you have wine with your dinner. Not the place I like to go to if I want a stress free evening.

Ate here with a friend before heading to a gig in the Olympia. Having left Dublin several years ago I had fond memories of Cafe Bar Deli however while this is a cheap and cheerful option I was quite disappointed overall. We shared a garlic pizza starter which was good and my pizza was definitely edible. However, my friend ordered the tuna salad and I found it inedible. More disappointly were both the service and the facilities. Will definitely not be back. Far too many other cheap and cheerful options that surpass.

Ate here one Friday night after work, a group of us were heading out so we decided to go and get something cheap and cheerful before we went out! As we were heading somewhere "cheap and cheerful" I didnt expect 5* food and service but I thought the one thing I could rely on in these recessionary times was value for money. I have eaten in all the different Cafe Bar Deli's around the city and I always enjoy the experience but I certainly will not be rushing back to this one. The food was good, I did enjoy it but the service was terrible and the bathrooms were horrific! We all had starters, I finished my starter first, the waitress came to remove my plate whilst the others where still eating, I tried to explain to her that my plate should not be removed until the rest of the party had finished their dishes but that fell on deaf ears, then one by one as the rest of the party finished their dishes she removed their plates until finally there was only one person left eating! Just as this person put her knife and fork down the mains arrived before her plate had been removed. I must add that the place was by no means busy and there were a lot of empty tables which I believe is very unusual for Cafe Bar Deli. Trying to catch the waitresses attention also proved very difficult. I was very dissatisfied with everything bar the food. Would not recommend to anyone.

Terrible service and overprized pizza. We had a quick pizza yesterday afternoon and left never wanting to come back thanks to terribly poor customer service. Waitress was too busy finishing her shift to care about cutomers. The pizza arrived without requested olives and with walnuts that I specifically asked not to put on. After complaining the waitress took pizza away, but returned 10 minutes later with a now completely burned pizza. Also the gorgonzola and thyme were missing. After complaining again was offered a new pizza which arrived 10 minutes after my husband had finished his. No offer for a drink on the house. We used to come here a lot but service and food is seriously slipping in last year. There are too many better restaurants to bother with this again.

It was Saturady afternoon in town, but the restaurant was fairly peaceful. I ordered the calzone with pork and caramelised onions in it and it was very tasty. It came with a bit of rocket on the side, which was not dressed so not much of a side. I would always recommend CafeBarDeli, but do find that it is a bit on the pricey side for the kind of food on offer.

I've been to cafe bar deli a good few times because the food and service is reliably good. It's particularly good at accommodating groups. Lat time I was there last monday I had the linguini with lemon oil and aubergine, it was good but the aubergine pieces were a bit big and tough. My friends all got pizzas which looked a bit small to me. I particularly like the pizza with creme freche and paprika (can't remember what else it comes with). Also house wine is very reasonably priced, and comes in liter or half liter caraffes which is good for groups. I always get the browny. The staff is always very friendly and easy going and provide great service.

Good Value But Dirty Toilets The food was fine for a quick bite. There were about 5 tables being used in the whole resturaunt and all 5 of them were beside the window to show outside people that it might be busy. It was fine but it felt a bit squished. We got a small pizza and the goats cheese salad. It was great value and the food was tasty enough. The service was quick and efficient. The only real downside was that the toilets were filthy. All the cubicles had paper or wet paper on the floor or hanging out of the bowl and there was soap all over the sink that looked like it had been there a while. This took away from the dining experience....I don't see any excuse for dirty toilets when there's almost more staff than customers.

My husband and I went here after we had dinner at another restaurant, having a bit of a sweet tooth. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 cappiccinos and 2 of the mini chocolate cups. Great price for what we ordered, however just a warning, they are VERY rich, we actually couldn't even finish it and decided next time to share that particular dessert. Other than that, the service was great and the rest of the restaurant looked alive and packed. Will go back for dinner as I've never been.

Busy for a Tuesday night -- we were lucky to get a table! Had the Margaherita pizza which was good! We had ordered a selection of breads to have with our wine but eventhough we asked for it twice our pizza arrived & still no bread! While there was absolutely no rush to get us out (which I like) I think that was more to do with the fact that the waitresses were huddled together chatting everytime I looked around to get someone's attention. Focus was not on the customer - Missing bread, water, napkins, bill - service was not good this particular night.

Regard CBD as my home from home at this stage as eat here once each week usually on Sundays. The food is consistently good , the athmosphere chilled, and the staff always very friendly. If you like pizza's and pasta you really can't go wrong. The parma ham and rocket pizza and taglatelli with chicken are just two of my favourites, and the selection of wine has recently expanded, great value with the dearest one at €31.00. In short , for a great night out that won't break the bank, not to be missed , Aiden.

Had lunch here with my son on Friday. The food was very nice. This is the second time I've eaten here and his first. I had the special pizza with goats cheese and he had a plain Margaherita pizza. He did not like the pizza as much as some other places if I am perfectly honest. However, I love the food here and the waitress was very friendly which makes a nice change. We also had the breads and three dips to start. They were lovely as well and great value for €6. They came with two lovely hummus dips and a sweet pepper dip. There were three different types of bread also on the plate; brown bread, white bread, and breadsticks. A small pizza and a coffee for €10 lunch special...good value. Be warned however, if you order a cappuchino instead of a coffee they will charge you for both the pizza and the cappuchino separately. This is why I gave a 3 for value.

I went here during the Theatre Festival in May and once again, top of the class! It is so unassuming yet the food is always delicious and the staff are great. I had one of the specials which was smoked haddock and pasta which was actually divine. It is always the place we turn to if we can't make up our minds and I will continue to go back again and again.

I went here last Monday at around 7, I’m quite a regular and was excited to see the menu had changed a bit! However I ordered the new salad with rocket, watercress, green beans, ricotta, some sort of meat (name I can’t rememeber) on top with mint dressing. To be honest I was very unimpressed, it was quite bland and not very much of it. The dressing was sparse. My friend got the broccoli and feta salad, which I usually get, and I was very jealous, she thought it was lovely. However, she bit down on a bit of what she described as gravel…really did look like a small bit of stone, but it was near the end of her meal. She told the waitress and she dealt with it very well, was apologetic and took the salad off the bill, which we were not expecting. We shared the chocolate brownie for desert. It was as usual rich and divine, the ice cream was gorgeous. As always it was good value too.

I was in cafe bar deli in cork a few years ago and I ordered something that I really didnt like so it always put me off going there again. However a few weeks ago I went with a couple of friends who are regulars there and I really enjoyed it. The have a great vegetarian spaghetti that was really tasty. They have a have a great bread selection with dips and olives too which is an ideal starter to share with friends. This is a really nice place to eat from time to time and I would definitely go back

No matter how many times I come here I dont understand why people love it so much. I have tried so many dishes and still cant get it (by the way, I dont choose to come here, its my friends). The salads could be amazing because they have a great choice, but something is missing from them. The pastas aren't nice, more tomato based ones please and the pizzas, well there are just better pizzas out there. The service last time I went was pretty bad. If it wasnt for the Maitre D, then it would have been absolutely shocking! Will be trying to persuade my friends to go somewhere else from now on.

It has been a while since I visited Cafe Bar Deli on Georges st and have never ventured to any others. I was a bit worried as it was favourite lazy lunch with the girls place, people could pop in an out get a snack or a coffee with the staff not batting an eyelid. Luckily for me nothing has changed, the portions are still huge, the salads are full of flavour, the staff are still pleasant without being overbearing and it is still great value for money. Everyone should try it.

I have been to Cafebardeli so many times...my friends and I just love it!! I am never disappointed...the food is great, the service is great and it's great value for money too. I love the fact that you can just walk in any time and sit down and have something to eat, it has a very friendly welcoming atmosphere. On my most recent visit I had the tiger prawns to start (wow they were hot) and the smoked duck and butternut squash salad for my mains which was delicious...i've also had the chorizo pizza recently which I thought was fab. I am a big fan of the bread and dips but sometimes the bread isn't the freshest that's the only negative thing I have to say...

I might go here again and again to have the starter with salmon, crab and prawns on soda bread... mmm... Pizzas and pastas are decent, service is nice and well, the location is superb. I do find the Grafton Street restaurant more atmospheric.

Went here for a bite to eat with my mother during a day of shopping on Saturday. I'd been to the one in Ranelagh so knew what to expect. We ordered a pizza (sundried tomato, rocket, parma ham and parmesan) and a salad (smoked duck, butternut squash, mixed leaves, pumpkin seeds and a lovely honey and balsamic dressing) to share. Both very yummy, really moreish. Really hit the spot. The interior of this restaurant is really cool and the service was very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

I like this place and like to go every couple of months. Last time (about month and a half ago), dessert (ice-cream) wasn't great, very powdery and tasted funny but I've had it before and it was fab. Dessert therefore was disappointing. I love their bread starter with dips - hummus etc. Selection of breads to start is fab and this is a great starter to share. I always go for the pizza and I love it.(Big variety) My advice - starter and mains (pizza) and skip dessert. There are cheaper places to eat but I like the food here and atmosphere.

Ate here on thursday night, second time in two weeks. Head and shoulders over Cafe Bar Deli in Grafton Street - or is that just Bewleys I can't work it out. The menus are different, there is a much nicer selection on the menu in Georges Street IMO - e.g. they have a new sizzling prawns starter that is gorgeous (although not enough prawns!) and is served with bread which is great for mopping up the gorgeous sauce and a lovely pear/blue cheese/spinach salad under mains - both dishes were right up my street so I had them both times and will be back again soon for more! Tables a bit squashed, we were so close to the family of 4 beside us that they had put their water jug on our table ; ) No biggie, just demonstrating how close the tables were. Better atmosphere than Grafton Street as well, possibly because it's smaller. Anyway, will be back!

I love Cafe bar Deli as there is always some thing on the menu I like. Its very reasonable and busy so the atmosphere is always pretty good too. I like their Cajun Chicken Salad as well as their pepperoni pizza. This is what we had the other night. I ordered the soup of the day- potato and leek- and it was very substantial. it came with some lovely bread and I was fairly full after eating that. we had some coffee- i skipped dessert as I was stuffed- and the bill was a very reasonable € 55. I dont think cafe Bar Deli is for gourmets but what it does, it does well. The staff are always very friendly and the place has a buzzy atmosphere. This one in Georges st is my fave too but they are all good.

I love this place, simple great food. Salads are generous and yum. Pizza is great. Deserts are ridiculously big, enough for 4 people, seriously. So I don't think they are worth the 7 euro unless you have 4 people to eat them. We shared the new coeliac chocolate last week, but it wasn't exactly to die for. My advice, eat a medium salad or pizza, skip the dessert and have a bellini instead! Or an icecream cone! There is also a waiter in there, I've been served by him a few times, and he is so bad. He doesn't look at you half the time unless you jump out of your seat. But apart from him service is usually great, and I will definitely be back again and again.

Was there on Friday evening with a group of people! I have traditionally been a big fan of Cafe Bar Deli despite the fact that you can't book a table unless it is for big groups! We were down stairs in the basement and as we didn't eat until nine by the time we were half way through our meal we were the only table left and while we had good fun among ourselves it was rather subdued generally! The service was good and waitress friendly and efficient! We ordered two bottles of the house white and red wine. The white was fine but the second bottle of the red was no better than vinegar and I am no wine conniseur! I had the trout salad which was yummie and the rest of the group were generally happy with their food! However at €35 a head for the four bottles of wine between eight, a main course and some shared starters it wasn't as good value as I remember - maybe that's because other eating houses are dropping their prices in these difficult times!

There are huge salads, tasty pizzas, a nice starter of bread with dips, and a lovely pasta with chicken and red peppers. However, the service can be a bit iffy - we asked for a few minutes more to read the menu and were forgotten, and had to wave at a waitress to get our bill. That said, normally the service is good and cheerful - would recommend it! (The chocolate brownie is amazing..)

I went for dinner on Saturday night to Cafe Bar Deli George's Street for our girls Christmas dinner with 13 of my girlfriends and I have to say I was extremely impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, not one unhappy customer among the 14 of us, which would be unusual for such a big group of girls. The service and atmosphere were also excellent. We ate lots and drank plenty of gorgeous wine and the bill ended up being only €32 each for everything. I would highly recommend Cafe Bar Deli to anyone, especially if your booking for a big group.

Ok, went here on saturday nite with a bunch of girls and not impressed whatsoever. Firstly the service was terrible, we ordered wine and the person serving was pouring it into coke glasses for us, when we asked him for wine glasses he said, they're only for upstairs we use these downstairs, we told him we wouldnt drink the wine from a coke glass, after a bit of arguing with us, he went and got us glasses. We were constantly rushed with our order, the food was very basic, prawn starter wtih bread was lovely, but the mains... seafood spagetti with spicy sauce was tasteless and plain. I had to add about 6 spoonfulls of parmasan to give it any taste at all. I'd not recommend this place, nor will i return.

Went here with friends for my birthday meal. Unfortunately this branch is the CBD i like the least. We were seated in a room off the main dining area which was FREEZING! Food took quite a while and just wasn't very tasty. It's a shame because I usually find CBD a reliable place for delicious and reasonably priced food in a comfortable atmosphere. However, my experience has shown that each branch varies and this isn't the nicest one.

I always enjoy a meal in CBD! I think its good value and quality food, the pizzas are lovely (I tried one of the best ingredients combination ever in CBD and I cooked it at home where it has become a regular: blue cheese, black pudding and caramelised onions!) The cous-cous and roasted salad it another must, and the pastas are also lovely, with the added bonus of being able to order gluten free or wheat free for the same price!

have been here a few times before but was there today and must say the service really isn't great. Although the food was brought fairly promptly after we ordered it (not too soon but not too much of a wait) we had a long wait before we could actually order anything and then had to ask for the bill three times before we could leave. The food was fine, and I must say the chocolate brownie for dessert it huge but service really needs to improve

I've been going to CBD for years, and always found in a reliable place for a quick, quality bite. However the standard of the food has really declined. My pizza was burnt, the toppings were not nice - ingredients were cheap. I did not enjoy it one bit and was sorry we had bothered popping in. The prices have also gone up, so all round thumbs down. Won't be back unless they go back to sourcing quality ingredients.

I went here with a group of girls even though it's not somewhere I'd usually choose. It was very busy so the service wasn't great at all. We were waiting for over half an hour on the bill. They've changed the menu again so this time I had the penne arrabiata. It was tasty but the portion was a little stingy. This was compensated for with the chocolate brownie for dessert. It was huge and I barely managed to get through a quarter of it. Maybe the waitress could have told us the size instead of 4 chocolate brownies going back to the kitchen half eaten. It's good value for money but it's not high up on my list of regular restaurants.

I used to love cafe bar deli, but the last times I've been in the one on grafton st & the one on george's st I've been disappointed. I had the tomato pesto pasta on my last visit to the george's st cafe & it just wasn't good - very sour - what's going on? there is no point in it being reasonably priced if the food's not good!

I was really disappointed in this as the first time was so good, We were pointed to a table by the waiter and had to wave to get attention to place an order, it continued like that most of the time, it was a quite time and lots of staff but nobody paying attention, one girl then started to spray cleaner on the table near us, there was little fly's around, the pitza was only half the man compared with my first visit, pasta was on the cold side of warm, nobody offered the dessert menu or offered tea / coffee. Took more waving to get the bill. I waved goodbye, I will wait for the reviews to get better and the fly's to leave before heading back,

still one of the most consistently good places in town, I've taken too many risks with new places recently and keep on coming back here because you know what you are going to get and the menu choice is always very good and varied.

I found the service lacking here on my last visit. I was in a group of 5 and it took a long time for the waitress to get the order right. We had garlic bread for starter which was basic but quite greasy. I had the mexican salsa pizza, which was a little soggy and nothing too exciting. Most of my friends had pasta dishes which were bland. The Grafton Street branch has a much nicer atmosphere.

Very average. When Cafe Bar Deli first opened it was something new in ireland and was good because of that, now its poor. The food quality has dropped the usual when a place gets going they start to cut cornors to the expense of the quality. The bread was stale which is sloppy, the dips were not fresh, I wonder if they have a central production unit where all the dips are made by some guy out by the airport. Pizza just ok, nothing great, the base was wet and the dough had no salt in it. CBD has had its day in my view.

Really lovely pizzas and the green brocolli with pine nut salad is yummy. Great location too. It was a bit cramped. And if anyone says they cant finish the chocolate brownie, they're just not trying hard enough;)

This is my favourite of all the Cafe Bar Deli restaurants. The relaxing atmosphere coupled with the polite service and high quality food leads to an enjoyable dining experience. I would highly recommend the pasta with the Toulouse sausage with the garlic pizzetta followed by a chocolate brownie. I've been here more times than I can remmeber and always find the food to be very tasty.

One of my favourite places to eat. Every time I go there the service is excellent and the food is served relatively quickly. My favourite is the mediterranean vegetable salad with cous cous and hummous. The first time I ever had this I ordered a large and seriously couldn't manage half of it and had to ask to take the rest home with me! The vegetables were lovely, especially the aubergines. Their starter of different breads with dips is very good, as are the cruditées. Their pizzas are also amazing and the wine list is good. Very nice place to eat out, but sometimes I was seated a little too close to other people for my liking.

Really like this place for a quick informal meal. I had the goats cheese and beetroot salad the other night and I LOVED it. the bread and dips starter is also fantastic, but enough for two sharing. service was really excellent, atmosphere very good. the only bad thing is the toilets are a little bit grotty.......

This place is great, the food is really packed full of flavor and the decor has a nice charm to it. Service can bit a bit hit and miss...one of those places you keep trying to catch the staff as they run by your table. I alway get a couscous with roasted veg in pesto- yummy!

Ok this place is the business. Great pasta, great garlic bread and the most fantastic ice cream sundae dessert. Staff efficent it gets busy so you should book ahead. I sometimes just go with a mate and have a carafe of house wine and THE DESSERT. Warm chockie sauce, little biscuits and whipped ice cream and a few nuts, who could ask for more. Their chicken pasta yum yum and it's not bad value. But unfortunately the one in Cork is not the same, the taste isnt there and the dessert is a big no no. Only the one in Dublin is cool.

This is a reasonably priced restaurant for a quick bite. We only had an hour and a half to grab a bite and this place fitted the bill. 2 main courses and a bottle of wine came to approx €60. I had the mozzarella, parma ham, sundried tomato pizza. It was fine - thin and crispy however maybe an over abundance of parma ham making it quite salty. My dining partner had the toulouse sausage with penne - this was delicious and I would order it myself on a return visit. I appreciated the fact that the waiters automatically serve water once you are seated. This small touch could be imitated by many other establishments in Dublin leading to a much more pleasant dining experience. I will go back to Cafe Bar Deli - overall its a nice experience.

Have eaten in both the George's Street and Grafton St branches of Cafe Bar Deli and would have to say that I have never been impressed with either.Grafton St prob shades it as it's a nicer decor and good atmosphere.Always get dragged here by friends (typically female).Food is bog standard & overpriced. When Cafe Bar Deli started the value was good for basic food but if anything food standard has dropped but prices have risen.I suppose that comes with opening more branches as complacency kicks in.

Had a great quick meal here just before going to the theatre one Friday night. I was dreading having to eat fast food somewhere but managed to get a table here at just the right time. The food was gorgeous, filling and tasty and just what we needed. The tables are right on top of each other so I wouldnt recommend it for an intimate dinner but for a fast, well-priced meal its great!

I ate here recently for a late lunch on a Saturday. The service was good - there when needed but not in your face. The house red wine was absolutely fine - just perfect for a light lunch. The atmosphere was busy but not packed. Have eaten here previously for lunch and dinner and both times we've sat there as long as we liked with no pressure to leave. The food is excellent - as long as you like Pizza! Very good value and a great location. Will be back again and again..

have been here many times, its a great reliable place to grab a bite in Dublin city centre. Always a good atmosphere at night, during the day it can seem a bit cavernous. Only gripe are the seats upstairs, its really smoky there from the grill directly below, so if you are seated there asked to be moved.

I came here with a group of workmates for a farewell dinner. We had booked a table and were shown to our seats straight away. The starters came promptly and the wine was delicious. The main courses took their time arriving out and there was a slight feeling that we had been forgotten about. I got the pizza with goats cheese. Absolutely splendid. Highly recommend it. Colleagues of mine tried other pizzas, and whilst they enjoyed the food, sometimes the restaurant can go a tad rocket crazy. So beware! Enjoyed my evening here and fantastic value for money.

Overall, a quick and easy bite to eat, helpful staff, laid back and good buzz. Wine from tumblers though, does not do much for me, but adds I suppose to their casual nature, so why not! Look, go here for a quick bite to eat, that wont break your bank. Original menu, credit for that. Very casual place, simple menu, no hassle, just go and enjoy it!

When a restaurant loses your booking, it's never a good start. Thankfully, a table was found and we had a selection of pizzas, pasta, beers and a good bottle of tempranillo. The service was quite harried and we were given one pizza free as it arrived a good 15 minutes after the rest of the food. We didn't stay for desserts, it didn't seem like a place for lingering to be honest. Good value but would be enhanced by an extra waiter/waitress or two!

Service is not great or over friendly but at least this means I don't have to leave a tip!! Food is quick (when you eventually order!!) and pasta and pizzas are tasty! Great selections for veggies! Georges St is better than Grafton Street and perfect for a quick post shopping bite to eat! Good wine too!

This is one of the few places in town that has a sizeable selection of salads on their menu. I had a goats cheese, bacon and beetroot salad, my friends had the nicoise salad. Good size and lots of everything in them, not just lettuce! Good value for a decent lunch. bread and dips are good too.

We sat in a window seat and it really added to the atmosphere watching the hustle and bustle going on outside on a chilly Friday night on Georges Street. The service was spot on and the food yeah that was fine, everything fresh and plenty of it. With a few bottles of cold beer, it was'nt a bad night at all. No problem going back.

Pompous! Pompous and more pompous! We've been here a fair few times over the years and have never found the staff to be very friendly or particularily helpful. We've gone for the food and never expect too much of the waitors and waitresses, but the last occasion will definitely be our last. We arrived in around 9.45 for a quick bite to eat on a Tuesay night after an evening class. We were shown to our table and before we had a chance to look at the menu we were faced by a very cross-looking waitress. We asked her if she could give us another minute or so, and were abruptly told that the kitchen was about to close. If this was the case we wished we had been told this before we made ourselves comfortable. We felt rushed and were made feel as though we were an inconvenience to her. The food transpired to be very disappointing and it's a pity we didn't get up and find somewhere else to eat that night. As we ate - we were sharing a very dry pizza and a large salad our waitress kept watching us from a slight distance. We got the distinct impression that herself and another waitress who were having a quiet natter and laugh were talking about their customers and wishing we were all gone...they were busy having a quiet moan about something anyway. Are the staff who are recruited into branches of Cafe Bar Deli hand chosen for their rude and pompous and unfriendly attitude - whatever it is they certainly seem to think they are a cut above the work which they are doing and a cut above their customers. We certainly won't be going back

Went here with a group of four on tuesday night. The food was fantastic as always, try the pizza with mushrooms and cashel blue cheese but the service was terrible. We were sitting for nearly half an hour before anyone asked us if we would like a drink and when we ordered the bill we had to do this twice because after 15 mins waiting there was no sign of it!!

I love this place; the food is reliably good, the service fast and its great value. It’s not exactly gourmet, but you're guaranteed a fresh tasty meal. On our last visit Little kit and I had the bread and dips to start, yummy! The bread is good and chunky and the dips are delicious. I had the chicken pasta with peppers in a cream sauce for mains and Little kit had the spiced lamb salad. The salad wasn’t one of their best, but was serviceable. The pasta was very rich, and very tasty. I’d have it again, but perhaps to share next time. All in all another successful dining experience.

Can't recommend this place more highly! I've been here loads of times and to the one in Ranelagh too. The garlic pizette is lovely for a starter as it's light and had a lovely flavour of garlic and rosemary. For mains I usually share a salad and a pizza with a friend which is a good idea as you get to have a bit of both. The pasta dishes are excellent too! For dessert the chocolate fudge sundae is amazing but you will probably have to share it between two! It's not the place for a romantic meal but great to meet up after work or at the weekends with a few friends. Great food and value for money.

Went there with a few friends on a Tuesday night. We were told that the table had to be vacant by 9 to then find out that half of the restaurant was empty. Not a pleasant start. Service was slow and unattentive. The food is always nice but I simply can't enjoy my wine when served in long glasses, the cutlery was quite ridiculous too. They said they didn't have steak knifes! Reasonably priced but service is a joke.

This place ain't worth the money, had a really bad experience here recently. The food was mediocre and the service absolutely awful. The waitress practically threw the food at us and never attempted to crack a smile during our whole time there. Very unfriendly and very unhelpful. And why, oh why, can't they use proper wine glasses instead of making us all feel like we're three years old by using tumblers. Will not be going here again or ever recommending it.

A good old favourite after shopping on a Saturday. I adore the Egg tagliatelle with cheese, chicken and tomatoes. Also, they have a great range of pizzas which are excellent value for their size. The service is always reliable even though they always seem to be so busy. The desserts are simply gorgeous especially the nut sundae. Although, not the place for a relaxing dinner as it's always so packed it's perfect for a quick meal before heading home.

First of all, we had to wait about 20 minutes later than the time given for our table. The tables are too close together. The wine is served in a tall glass rather than a wine glass. There wasn't enough dressing on the caesar salad, which was mediocre at best. Frankly I find the pasta dishes extremely bland in taste. The service is half-hazard and overall this restaurant does not make for a pleasant night out. I will not return again.

Pleasantly surprised with the food this time as I have found Cafe Bar Deli to be a bit 'hit or miss' in the past. Food sounded better on the menu than what we received but still good value for the (very reasonable) price. The Argentinian red wine was lovely and service was excellent and very friendly. Only complaint was the overcrowding and noise - felt a bit like were in a cattle market!

A little disappointed as we had heard great things about this place. Still it was cheap and the food was ok. I liked the antipasti for starter. The pizza was basic enough. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was buzzing. I think I would go back and give it another go.

Looking for great food that wont cost? Cafe Bar Deli is a MUST! They were great with the kids - my 3 yr old ordered her own meal (as in, something that wasnt on the menu) and they had NO problem accommodating. Any parent will tell you that kids always ask for whats "not" on the menu, and not a lot of places can cater for that! I want to recommend the Nut Sundae Icecream - I had a "When Harry Met Sally" moment! To get out of a restaurant for under 70euro in Dublin for 2 adults and 2 kids (having had wine and coffee) is vertually unheard of in Dublin. Can't recommend enough (love the Ranelagh branch aswell)

I went there last night with some friends-have only been once before. We were down in the basement-great atmosphere. It was a little hot coz there was a fan blowing right into our faces though.Food was lovely-really tastes so fresh and great quality. My only problem was the staff-we would have been lucky to get our waiter to crack a smile. While the service was most efficient, not the friendliest.Amazing value for your money though-would highly recommend.

A group of 5 of us went there last night and the food was lovely. We all got pizzas, which were very tasty. There wasn't much room on the table for all the food, so when the 5 pizzas came out, there were elbows everywhere! I think it would've been better if they'd used a pizza cutter before bringing them out. Chocolate brownie for dessert was delicious, would recommend it. Service was slow, but we weren't in any rush. Good meal all round

Visited on a cold rainy Thursday evening with my husband and 2 friends visiting from Holland. Unfortunately we had about an hours wait for a table but eventually we were seated. The place was packed so a good atmosphere going. Declined from having wine because I can't abide sipping wine from a thick tumbler. We shared the bread and dips with olives for starter. Really tasty. 2 of us had the pepperoni pizza, really nice. One had the pizza with spinach and my husband a new one, Chicken with a spicy type of creamy creme fraiche. Everybody enjoyed themselves. The only annoying thing is not being able to pre-book your table.

Went with the boyfriend earlier, I had the new choice of salad which was the Spicy lamb with rocket - not too bad at all. The waiter who served us was rushing us through our meal and forgotten my boyfriend's starter, though he later apologized for this mishap. Otherwise it's a mediocre yet reliable place.

This is a great place to meet friends after work. The service is efficient and the food is tasty enough - nothing to write home about, but for the money it is good value. I have had the pasta dishes and the pizzas before and will continue to go back, my friends the same. The atmosphere is very pleasant and is a favourite meeting place.

A safe bet for some good value casual dining. The service is always good and the food is simple and enjoyable. The pizzas generally seem to be much better than their pasta dishes. Their salads are great. Overall, one of the better casual eateries in Dublin's city center!

Funny an earlier reviewer said it perfectly when they said that "sometimes you feel you eat here too often". It's definitely because it's simple, good food - a bit of a no-brainer really. Pasta/Pizza and Salad - not very exciting as always pretty much the same menu but tasty and reasonably priced too.

Sometimes I feel I eat here too often, but yet it never fails to impress! I met a friend for lunch here yesterday, and the spaghetti bolognese was a perfect hangover cure! (I'm sure the glass of wine helped too!) We shared some garlic bread to start, it was crispy and tasty, and the hummus had a lovely taste (cumin or coriander??) to it. The spag bol was really tasty. The service was excellent as always, the order is always delivered in minutes. Yes I will be back again.... great value for money as usual!

Such a great old reliable if meeting the girls after work for something quick but tasty. I love the salads, and if you're not calorie counting, the chicken tagliatelle in cream sauce is delicious. It would be good if they varied the menu a bit more, but it' great value and always reliable.

Fine for a less pricey (for Dublin, that is) bite to eat. My salad nicoise was great. The toilets were woeful - I've seen better at festivals.

Mixed feelings after visiting Cafe Bar Deli. My first visit at lunchtime - was on a late lunch, and so it was quiet. My friend sat beside me on the couch instead of opposite, and was told by the rude waitress that that chair was needed for another table - there were only 5 other diners there at that stage. We said that if the table was needed we'd have no problems moving. Only to be left waiting for 30mins for the waitress to take our order. When the food did arrive it was tasty and good value. Used our cutlery for the starters, and was told by the same waitress that we'd have to use the same cutlery for our main course because it was lunch time...does the dishwasher not work at lunchtime? Visited on another occasion with friends and found the service to be excellent - the complete opposite to my earlier experience.

Decided to pop in here after Friday evening drinks. Too tired to go home to cook dinner, this restaurant always delivers! There was no wait, and we were led to the mezzanine upstairs - a little cramped for my liking, I prefer the high-ceiling ground floor. My fiancé and I shared a bottle of rosé and the smoked mackerel pâté with yummy Guinness bread to start. We both ordered pizza for mains and shared them between us. One with capers and anchovies and the other with salami, olives and red peppers. Both were superb. We ended with a chocolate fudge sundae with two spoons, which is to die for. I would consider coming in for this alone. Cafe Bar Deli never lets you down, the food is always of a high standard, and very reasonable. The menu always changes regularly, so even us die hard regulars never get bored.

Great spot for quick, tasty eats! You would be hard pushed to find such a decent, reasonably priced meal in the city. I am a firm regular, who enjoys eating there with friends and my partner, at least once a week. The pizzas are always fresh, crisp and delicious. Although I do not normally eat the pastas and salads, those that I have tried, have been great. Perfect place for lunch, catching up with friends, or before heading out on the town.

This a fab place for a quick bite to eat after work or when meeting friends etc. It’s very reasonable as well. I love the feta salad, it has broccoli in it, which if I am to be honest I thought would be disgusting but turned out to be the nicest salad I had tasted in a long time. Their pizzas are very tasty. It’s worth a visit.

A good solid reasonably priced place. The pizzas can be a bit sickening, but only because they are so big. The bases and light and crisp, with good, fresh toppings. The pastas are competent but can be slightly bland at times. The salads are fantastic though, especially the roasted vegetables with couscous. Desserts are all very very good. The antipasti is slightly over-priced but otherwise few complaints. The staff are efficient, and it’s a good place to go with friends for a quick meal.

When are people going to stop raving about this very mediocre, over-rated place? I cannot understand its popularity - it is 3 star MINUS! First of all, I lived in Italy for a while, and I can't stand the way Irish people pile all kinds of stuff on top of pizzas. If the ingredients are fresh and the base is delicious, you don't need a pile of crap on top. In Cafe Bar Deli, the pizza comes out with a mound of toppings on a fairly tasteless base. The pizza looks like it's been ladled onto your plate, and any restaurant that overloads your plate is compensating for mediocre ingredients. The broccoli salad - kind of thing you can't get wrong - just isn't that nice. I had a hideous salad there recently - can't remember the name of that dish, but it had orange juice squirted all over it. Tasted like they'd made it up as they went along. The food isn't dreadful, it's average, but I'll never understand why the place is so popular. I also don't like getting wine in tumblers - works well on the continent in cute tapas bars etc., but not here! And does anyone else feel like its still Bewleys, and they're going to bring you a sticky bun for dessert? Or that they're in a dining-hall?

Its a reliable pizza, pasta and salad restaurant. I recommend the pizza with minced lamb and mint sauce if you're not too much of a purist. Good food, cheap enough and in a nice central location. Can't go far wrong.

The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable and the service (while a little slow on our visit) was friendly and helpful. Cafe Bar Deli is an excellent place to meet a gang of people after work or before a night boozing; its cheap, the servings are generous, and it’s very quick. As a criticism the tables can be very close together so you often feel as though you are having dinner with strangers!

The food well what can I say, if you like to go for the healthy option the salads are really tasty and they also do the best garlic bread hummus combo, Pizza's are great too, I would def recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a reasonable place that serves great food.

Great value for money. Good food, generous portions and the mixed bread starter is highly recommended. Always feels lively and buzzing. CBD wouldn't be the place for a leisurely evening meal but ideal for a bite before going on elsewhere and perfect for a casual lunch. Particularly like that you can order small portions from the main course menu (leaving room for dessert).I noticed last week that they've started serving the wine in the bottle instead of the jugs - a big improvement now bring on the wine glasses instead of tumblers!

Had a meal there last night, and everything about it was lovely. I used to go here all the time but hadn't been for the last 6 months or more. I think they may have taken menupages reader’s advice because the menu has indeed changed. There were 2 new starters, 2 new mains and one new desert. We had vegetable crudities with home made dips (a chilli type of humus, and a tzatziki with cheese). For mains we both had pizzas, one of the new ones was field mushrooms with blue cheese and was delicious. They have a great selection for veggies too - much better than most pasta/pizza joints. Have loved it here every time. You don’t have to book, and there's always a happy, busy bustle, and service is with a smile.

I do like Bar Deli but can understand some of the criticisms here. The menu is extremely limited and hasn't changed in years as far as I can tell. That's a drawback and they really should introduce some new dishes. The pizzas are imaginative though and tasty. Agreed that the service can sometimes feel a little rushed and overall the place seems cramped and cafe-like. The value for money is ok. Overall, it's good for a quick bite before continuing with whatever you are doing for the evening, but is not conducive to lounging around and having a leisurely dinner.

Ate here a week ago and have to say it's really bland. I've just come from the UK where there are some god-damn-awful pasta chains. This wasn't as bad (well ok the service was) - it's just the food arrived too quickly to make me comfortable and it tasted - not bad exactly, just.....well.....ordinary. A bit like a Ford Focus - it gets the kids to school but you wouldn't brag about owning one. If you are in town and want a quick and unscheduled feed - it does what it says on the tin. If you want something else - go elsewhere!

So nice to find a relaxed unpretentious place to eat in the city. Great Food loved the Selection of breads and dips Great Salads and huge portions. Perfect place for a quick bite alone or with friends or even a good place for a leisurely meal. Ps They don't take Reservations but if you don't mind waiting you can have a drink at the bar reasonable priced drinks to.

One off the best options if you haven't booked a table for the night! The menu suits most people and I really like the option to have two different salad sizes. I quite like the fact that the wine is served in tumblers, personally I think that it adds to the casual, laidback atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff are usually very good, but I think turning tables over is a priority in such an inexpensive haunt.

Bar Deli's is an old reliable. Really good value and tasty bites. The bread and dips are a really nice starter, the salads are fresh and interesting, some of the pizzas are delicious and some are a bit over the top. I really love the egg tagliatelle, it is so delicious. Bottom line is, you can come here any time of day, get a table quickly and get your meal really quickly.

Great for a quick bite. The coeliac-friendly pasta choices and the beautiful salads make this place a regular haunt for me. I wish that they would serve their wine in proper wine glasses though as the tall glasses that they currently use take from the experience.

This is my favourite Cafe Bar Deli and there was a time I went there every week or so. Its not gourmet food but its easy to see why its so busy. The food is quick, tasty and reasonable. I like the rocket pizza and the chicken Caesar salad. I also find the staff are always very friendly and quick to get you whatever you require. I don’t like the silly wine tumblers - some of my friends have said they will never order wine there because they don’t like the glasses- and I think it would help if they sliced their pizzas but these are minor gripes. If you are hungry after work and want to meet friends for a quick cheap bite, this is the place to come.

Ate here last Friday night with a group of friends and the service was absolutely terrible!! The waitress we had was the most unfriendly, unhelpful waitress we've ever came across...yawning as she took our orders, don't think we saw her smile once! Food was average but nothing I would rush back for at all. Wouldn't recommend this Cafe Bar Deli to anyone.

Quick, average food. If you're looking for a bite to eat and haven't got much time to spare then Cafe Bar Deli isn't a bad place to grab a quick bite to eat. It used to be an old Bewley's and still retains some of that charm, but the food is fairly basic. I grabbed a quick dinner on Friday with a friend before heading to a party. I had the mixed meats pizza, since I like a little chilli on my food. It was way too busy though and the cheese didn't sit well on the base. My friend went for the Caesar Salad, and she thought it was OK. It’s probably a little over priced given the quality of the food.

In town a few weeks ago, and checked this out with a friend, must say I enjoyed it. Its right in the centre of town, nicely located on Georges Street, they have a nice wine bar, we ended up waiting there for about 20 mins for a table, of course we had a nice bottle of red while we were waiting, wine isn't cheap, however if you're out for the night, and want to enjoy yourself, you need to put your hand in your pocket, & they have a nice selection. We both went for pizzas and they were fine, would defo recommend it.

Just popped in here for lunch yesterday, the food was delicious, I really enjoyed it. The service is some thing to be desired though, they all seem so unhappy! Will return simply because of the great value and because I have always enjoyed the food but a little friendly-ness wouldn't go a miss!

The atmosphere here is not as good as in their restaurant on Grafton Street and tables are very close together. I felt like I could elbow the couple next to me! However, service is good. My roasted vegetable with cous cous and hummus salad was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. The great thing about the salads is they come in medium or large so they are suitable however hungry you are feeling. The medium one was sufficient for me and was excellent value for money.

Like all C-B-D outlets, this one provides the same simple, reasonable food with little fuss. As a place to go for a casual bite or with a youngish group prior to a night out, it hits the spot fairly well. Some dishes are notably better than others and I think the pizzas are over-rated. However the pasta tastes good and the quality is consistent. The buffalo mozzarella starter is very pleasant. Never quite get round to dessert here. The downstairs toilets in this branch are a let down and need work and more regular cleaning (no excuse for this). Service is efficient if not charming. Still can't figure out this chain's aversion to proper wine glasses (as opposed to tumblers) either.

I have been there several times, and I find it is an excellent “Cheap and Cheerful” spot for a mid week bight with friends. Do not expect miracles with food, however prices are reasonable, their salad range is excellent, and for the healthy lovers, they even serve gluten free pasta and Spelt Bread. Down side? the wine is not for wine lovers – but then, who can afford an expensive bottle of wine every day…

The food here is always good, service is fast if somewhat brisk at times. The wine list could do with being varied occasionally! Otherwise a great value for money restaurant/bistro that offers a chance for me, the salad loving fussy eater and my husband, the pizza lover a chance to both have what we want for dinner!

Car Bar Deli serves us good value dinners of pasta, pizzas and salads. Lunchtime prices are the same as dinner, so while dinner is reasonable, the prices are too high for a lunch. Not in quite as grand a building nor quite as nicely decorated as its sister restaurant on Grafton Street. Good desserts too.

Disappointed is an understatement, I have eaten in Café Bar Deli on a number of occasions. This was my 1st visit to the one on Georges St, and I certainly won’t be going back. The service wasn’t up to scratch, it was busy but this is no excuse we had to call the waiter and ask for drinks and then again to take our order. We both went for Pizza’s and oh my god when we got them were we sorry, they were saturated in oil, I actually soaked up the oil with my napkin and talk about OTT with the garlic, and I love garlic. We both left more than half a pizza behind. To make matters worse we both felt ill after. Such a shame as I liked going here.

I was in Cafe Bar Deli last night and had a great pizza. My friend had a salad, which she thought was delicious. The medium serving is quite large. I think this restaurant has a great selection of food, the only down side is that they will not seat your party until everyone has arrived. They can be a bit rude about it as well - as I saw what I thought was the manager speaking to 2 other girls while I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Would go back for the food though.

The food was very nice and it was good value for money, the menu was not huge but covered a lot of areas. We visited early on a week night and it was not too busy however I guess it could get a little cramped when the place is full as there is not much space between tables. A small peev, was that the pasta dishes were served with Parmesan already grated on them, it does say this on the menu but I thought they would have asked for your preference and added it at the table like most places, it's not really a criticism just a reminder to ask for the plate without Parmesan if you are not a huge fan of it.

Was very disappointed with my last trip to cafe bar deli. I had eaten there before and while the food is never extraordinary, it's always quite good at the price. The pizza that I ordered was only warm when it arrived and was also moist and tasteless. The service was quite confused and our table was looked after by 5 (!) different waiters in the course of one meal for two. Strange. Won't be in a hurry to return.

I have eaten at Cafe Bar Deli twice and each time I found it to be a really great experience. The menu is extensive and offers a good selection for vegetarian diners like myself. The portion sizes are certainly enough to satisfy even the biggest appetite. But it's advisable to leave room for dessert, as these are excellent too! The restaurant itself is a lovely building. It's nicely decorated and feels comfortable even when it's quite full. Finally, the staff are attentive and really make the experience complete!

Great place and I think its far superior to the Grafton St and Ranelagh outlets. The Georges St. establishment has a far better atmosphere. Buzzy and convivial. Really good quality food for the prices. They really know how to do pizzas, the salads are among the most substantial and morish in Dublin and the 2-person bowls of pasta are great with a carafe of wine and good company. If you can't get a table, no problem just sit at the bar and watch the world go by. Great place to relax with friends over a cheap bite to eat. Surely destined to become almost as much of a Dublin institution as the buildings previous occupants?

Great value for money. Food is not amazing but you get what you pay for. Ideal place to bring somebody who resents the expense of eating out. We had 2 salads, half a bottle of wine and coffee for under €40.

Great place to grab lunch when you’re shopping. Wouldn’t be my first choice for dinner though. Really good salad selection I’d recommend the feta and broccoli myself. As a reputable desert fan I’d go with the chocolate brownie - definitely plenty for 2 to share a challenge for 1 unless you’re like me!! The staff are like the venue itself generally flat-out busy but I’ve never had to wait for anything ridiculously long. Big place for families especially at weekends - so if you've been out on a rough Saturday night definitely avoid at all costs on "Fundae Sundae" with all the kids etc... Overall though good value for money and great for a quick in and out lunch!

Great Food, Reasonable prices .... but the staff can be very unhelpful. We went a few weeks ago and the place was literally empty. Yet when it transpired that we would only like to have a coffee we were not allowed to sit at any of the empty tables but were told to hog down at the bar. This was a disgrace and done in an appalling manner. However, the food is very good especially the salads and desserts. So apart from rude/stubborn staff you should go and try it.

The service was prompt, the food fine, and a good cafe style buzz to the place. Myself and a friend were after a quick bite. We ordered a salad each - the medium is a good size for something 'light' to eat - and then shared a dessert. Nothing outstanding, but for what you pay it's just right.

I had a nice leisurely Sunday lunch here with friends and it was perfect as there weren't many people around. I have eaten here on a weekend night though and it's a completely different kettle of fish. At busy times it can seem very cramped but when it's not so busy it's a delight. The food is always top notch and they offer something for everybody. Price wise it's great too.

Great value lovely food. The food is fabulous here, great place for a casual meal for two or for a group. Some of the best pizza around. When you are feeling a bit healthier the salads are great. Its great not to just be restricted to just a Caesar salad. The two in town have a slightly better atmosphere than the one in Ranelagh but all three are great. Never had a bad meal here.

One of the best places to go for a good cheap meal if you’re in a hurry in Dublin. The food is excellent here although the atmosphere is a bit nicer and less rushed in the Grafton Street branch. I have tasted almost everything on the menu and it is all wonderfully fresh and well prepared. Only downside is that its so busy sometimes you feel like you are being rushed from the table but I keep going back and there’s no better recommendation than that.

It’s a really great place to go before you head out on the town. The staff there are always helpful and friendly. The food is top quality and great value for money. Service is incredibly quick and efficient. It works out far cheaper then a take away and the food is much nicer.

This isn't as good as the Grafton St Cafe Bar Deli. There's more space in the Grafton St branch, and I've found the atmosphere friendlier there too. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Though I miss the broccoli & feta salad (which was to die for) they at least vary their menu every now and then.

Great for salads and pasta and the portions are pretty big. I would agree with the previous reviewer, the menu could do with a bit more variation I have eaten here 2 or 3 times and between my friends and I, have tasted everything on the menu. Also they don't take reservations so if it's busy (and it usually is) expect to be left standing around in the bar while waiting for a table. Cheap too

Consistently high quality food. Cafe Bar deli has a great atmosphere and pleasant staff. Although they are always very busy the cope with the rush. Food is cheap in comparison to other restaurants nearby. Pizza's I find can be a bit on the oily side however I tend to always go for another dish. Portions are very generous. Only downside is that they take no bookings and waiting area is very small..

As always the food in Cafe Bar Deli (Georges St) is really good however, at times service can be quite slow and also certain staff can be a little rude (or at best disinterested). I was glad to see that the pasta al Salmone was taken off the menu as it was a little too oily! Pizzas are some of the best available though.

Still one of the best place to eat in Dublin: great pizza, pasta and salads. I recommend hotly the chicken Caesar salad and the huge brownie. The prices seem to have increased a lot lately, I hope they will know where to stop...

I can't shout enough about Cafe Bar Deli - every time I go there it seems to be better and better. Not only does it have the best pizza in the city bar Steps of Rome, but it has a delicious range of pastas and salads to keep the most awkward of eaters happy. Good looking and efficient staff make this place a joy every time.
