Before I go any further... I love this place! I have dined here so many times over the years and although have told plenty about it, I've never written a review. Like all the other times, my lunch here a few weeks ago was great! I hadn't much time so went for the 10 minute lunch promo they do which is... get your food in 10 mins or don't pay. I got the beef and mushroom stew with mash potato. This is so good and tastes like home cooked comfort food like mamma used to make! The service was bang on and I was in and out within 30 mins and all for just a little over €10. The guys here have defo got it right... the atmosphere is cool and the servers buzz around but in total control and always polite and approachable.

Ate here with a menu pages voucher. Was just delicious. The pork belly was exceptional. We felt the desserts were the least enjoyable party of the meal. All the options were a slice of pre-made cake/tart.

We come here every couple of months. The menu does not change very often. Although it is quite nice. The early bird is good value, but the dishes we like are only on the a la carte. I had duck medium well and it was very overcooked and sliced up. My friend had the same dish previously and it did look (whole breast) and taste better. For desserts there are only big cakes available. Nice atmosphere though. We ll still give it another go though

Great Night out. Went here with a group of work colleagues, everyone raved about the food, the rib eye steak was cooked perfectly and the homemade desserts were fantastic. What really was the icing on the cake was the great atmosphere created by the team there. Best value for your money restaurant you will find in the city centre.

Went here last Sunday with Menu Pages voucher in hand that my boyfreind bought. Have had lunch here a few times but never for some reason at night. It has a reputation aa a great party place. When we arrived we were promptly seated by one of the waiters, nicely in the window table I might add. We ordered Bruschetta & Pork Belly for starters, the pork belly was to die for, really well cooked fat had pretty much eveporated from it and it was marinated in some balsamic jus. I had the Sea Bass and he had the Prawn Linguini, presentation was great and the taste even better. Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake & Mud Pie for dessert and we both agreed that we had found a ''new haunt''. Definetely worth visiting

Went to Boulevard on a Friday night in March with two other couples. Have been here before and never dissapoints to be "just the tonic". Food is real comfort fresh with great flavours, I had the tiger prawns for starters they were big juicy & nicely cooked for main course the Carbonara was just scrunptous if not a little on the large side. My partner had the pate & asked for more toast to finish & the Rib Eye steak. We skipped on desserts but they did look great on the presentation plate. We will definetely be going back here.

Went to this restaurant as part of the menupages deals, and turned me off using the deals ever again. Reservation was good and easy. On arrival were shown to a table that we assume is for people on the deal list, was closed to the counter and fridge! We were given menus, placed our order...then informed we couldn't have that as we were given the wrong menu. Apparently there is a different lesser menu for the deal customers, which wasn't explained when we bought the deal( beware of other deals that may do the same). We got the impression that the food for the deal customers was second rate( I guess they have your money already!). Pate was runny, Prawn main course was terrible. Steak main was good,if a little too much fat.Apple crumble dessert was as if heated in a mircowave and not edible. Lemon dessert average. Save to say we will not be returning. I hope that they rethink a few basic elements of the restaurant, because it is an ideal spot for tourist, but perhaps that is the problem. Tourist won't be back and so why bother!!

I went here for weekday lunch with two friends. I't often packed but I wasn't expecting much from the menu. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the food, portions and value. I got a sandwich which came with a small salad and chips - for €9. The service was really good, too. We had a nice bright table beside the window, lots of room, and our food arrived promptly and exactly how we wanted. I'd definitely recommend it as a pleasant, good value lunch place.

Went here with the menupages voucher (€40 for 2 starters, 2 mains & 2 desserts) on a Sunday evening. We were left waiting for about 20 mins before anyone came to take our order and the place was not busy. Staff seemed to intentionally avoid passing by our table or making eye contact. When we were eventually served we ordered 2 drinks, only one of which arrived. When we asked for the 2nd to be brought the waiter snapped "what do you want?". Seemed very rude. We were informed there would be a €5 supplement per rib-eye steak or €10 supplement per fillet steak. We opted for bruschetta & prawns to start, Chicken & lamb for mains and chocolate meringue & chocolate sponge for dessert. The food was decent but nothing special. Staff really let the place down. We were left waiting a long time after dinner for the dessert tray to be presented. When we asked for the bill the waiter said he would bring it but then proceeded to get his coat & bag and leave the restaurant. We had to ask again for the bill which was brought promptly. I know we had a voucher but I thought the idea of giving discounted prices was to entice people to return and pay the full price. I would not return due to the poor level of service.

Bought a discounted voucher online and used this last night. My husband read a bad review and was dreading the visit but thankfully didn't mention this till after our first course was over. I had prawns for starter and was delighted prawns were generous in size, very tasty and fresh from what I could tell would have liked maybe one or two more. My husband had bruschetta which looked slightly disappointing but was very good in flavors. Mains we had supreme chicken and I had the chefs special of pan fried cod. Both were served similar on a bed of mash, not being a lover of mash we ordered a portion of chips and these were' to die for' chips really tasty. Couldn't say much about either main they were good. Dessert was raspberry crumble and Baileys cheesecake, Yum but we are easily pleased with cakes.Service was good but it was Monday night after all so it should be anywhere. My only problem with service was I mentioned to the waiter I was off chocolate and my dessert came out drizzled in it..I still managed to eat it but my job could have been made easier if he listened. Overall the meal was delicious and I would go again but I would be reluctant to pay full price as I think there is much better value out there!

Starters: 3 rubbery tiger prawns, definitely not fresh, from a can? Warm goats cheese sat like a pork pie on a bed of leaves, microwaved? Mains: Overcooked, Organic, pan fried salmon, farmed?, on top of 6 unpeeled potato's, I kid you not, with a few stringy geen beans strewn about. Pan fried sea bass, farmed? on bed of mash was best dish of evening. Deserts: The bought in chocolate cake was marginally better than the house made cheese cake but not by much. Two brandy's and one decaffe rounded off the evening, the regular coffee which was ordered never arrived. The slightly insipid Chianti Dabruzzo was overpriced at €26. The service was friendly but the staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than looking after the customers. We were on one of the now ubiquitous special deal vouchers. The question Dublin diners ask themselves nowadays is not , would I come here again? but rather, would I pay full price for this meal? The answer for me on this occasion has to be a resounding NO!!!

I went here for lunch. Service was nice and prompt. Food was good, but not amazing. I had a Caesar salad, lots of chicken and ham in it, which was good. I would go back, but maybe for an evening meal.

Haven't been here is months, then dropped in before christmas. Pizza was soggy, not a good sign. Waiter changed it for me without question. That indicates it could be an ongoing problem. It is a bit crammed. The food is fine, average really. But you get what you pay for. Cracking good earlybirds in the city centre, in the middle of it all. Not every place can turn out excellent food. Food comes out fast so would pop in again if I was stuck and didnt want anywhere fancy.

A bit too crowded and crammed, the lights are a wee bit too dim. Food is nice, not an extended menu, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm a vegan and I got choice of main dishes without meat/dairy, v good sign that they cook their food fresh and from scratch. Service was extremely good, we were given special offers and good deals not on the menu. Super-handy location, we were only asked to vacate the table long after the bill was paid so we were also given time to chillax after dessert. Nice.

Myself and some friends visited this restaurant. We were seated immediately and service was very good. Food was good and presentation was excellent. Atmosphere was lovely really got us into the christmas sprit. A little pricey as we weren't offered the early bird menu although our booking was at 6.30,

I was very disappointed with my experince in Boulevard Cafe.Having made a booking that was for the pre-theatre menu on the 7th of December I was annoyed to find the Christmas dinner menu the only menu on offer when we arrived. The website stated that the pre-theatre menu was still available on the 7th of December however the manager insisted on arguing with me that the website said it was only the christmas menu for December.Eventually getting the main menu, we were informed we were only allowed the a la carte menu as the pre-theatre menu was not on offer. This enraged me further as it was agreed when booking that the time I had booked for was within the pre-theatre schedule. The manager was un-cooperative, rude and sarcastic when speaking to me about the issue.Service was slow and we had to ask twice for a drinks menu and then wait a further 20 minutes before being served drinks. The food was lovely, unfortunately the poor service and rudeness of staff and lack of effort to make our evening enjoyable will ensure i would not recommend this restaurant.

The service was good for a very busy restaurant. Nice choices on menu. Started with duck pate very tasty and had beef & chorizo hot pot for main and finished with nice medley of deserts. Nice bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Good atmosphere if a bit loud, hard to have a chat with your companions. What I liked most was the food but we had booked for the early bird but on arrival were told it was suspended for month of December despite that their web site says it is suspended from 8th Dec to 31st Dec. Because of that I would not recommend it to anyone

I recently dined here on a girl’s night out (hens). I must say it was wonderful we were quickly seated. The atmosphere was fantastic. The waiter was very prompt and had us up dancing at the end of the night. It was nice to dine in a lovely restaurant were the food is delicious but also inexpensive. I cannot fault the food or the staff it was all perfect.

Had visited Boulevard Cafe on a number of occasions and as before the early bird menu offered a nice selection of food at good value. We booked for Sunday 6.30pm and restaurant was nearly full when we got there with a nice atmosphere. Quality of the food served was good, but the evening was spoiled by two incidents that were avoidable. Firstly, one of the waiters who was obviously frustrated at something made a comment when passing our table - it was not directed at us but nonetheless was audible and inappropriate. Secondly, at about 8pm, two guys carrying a large ladder came into the restaurant, had a chat with the owner / manager and then put up their ladder close to the table where we were sitting and started removing items from the walls to make way for the Christmas decorations! While the restaurant was quieter than earlier, I felt this action in particular demonstrated poor regard for customers on the part of management. It should have been done when the restaurant was closed. and it just took from what had up to then been a pleasant evening. Before we left, I spoke to the owner who apologised for the comments made, but didn't seem to feel that people climbing ladders in a restaurant beside customers trying to enjoy their meal was a big deal. The waiter in question then came to us and apologised for his comments. We came away feeling disappointed with the experience which was a pity given the quality of the food.

Never dined here before but would recommend it to anyone, Great value for early Bread. To start we shared Bruschetta which was nicely flavoured, in mains i ordered rissoto, Found it little bit dry and very little asparagus, salad garnish was bit dead too. My partner enjoyed the salmon 100%. Waiting staff was very polite and cheerful. We enjoyed our evening. Thankz a million.

Met my friend here for a early dinner. There was plenty of choices as it was a dine in dublin restaurant. They offered three courses for 25e. We both had the goatscheese starter which was quite nice. I ordered the rib eye steak for main -even though it had a 5euro supplement charge (not happy with that at all, its a 25 euro menu i personally think its cheating to slap on a 5euro charge). It wasn't very nice in all honesty. My friend had a tiger prawn chilli pasta dish`. My steak was ok, I've had better. My friend really didnt ike her pasta, it was a huge plate of pasta with a oad of massive prawns( i know tiger are supposed to be big!) but it was just way too much. In fairness to them though, we shared a beautiful cheesecake-it was amaretto and blueberry INCREDIBLE! I was really impressed with the service! pity about the mains :(

We go here for work lunch regularly, the lunch menu is really good value, most options are around the ten euro mark. The chicken pitta wrap is my personal favourite, comes with wedges on the side and is really tasty! The place can get noisy so not somewhere to go for a quiet lunch, you nearly have to shout to hear each other over everyone else! Its always wedged and to get a table for four or more you have to get there about 15 mins before the lunch rush at one!

This restaurant has a lovely décor and the service was very attentive, although this would be expected on a quite Saturday afternoon between the lunch time and evening rush. Unfortunately I found the food mediocre at best and not particularly memorable.

Met two girlfriends here for lunch, both of which had been here before. One had the caeser salad, the other had the Boulevard special and I had Chicken pita. They were all really nice. My dish was fairly standard so wish I went with something else but it was still quite tasty. For dessert, we shared a cheesecake. The other two were drinking wine but I had to stick to water since I was going back to work. Would love to go back for dinner sometime as it seems like a really nice place and the food seems good. Service was really good too.

Ate here for lunch with a friend. I found the service good at the start of the meal but as the restaurant filled up it wasn't great. We had to wait both for desert menus and to order deserts. Again we had to wait for the bill and then to pay I had to go to the front desk This is something that really annoys me. The servers that we dealt with were fairly pleasant. For mains I had a very tasty beef dish whilst my mate had a chicken salad which she enjoyed. For desert I chose an amaretto cheesecake again very nice. The atmosphere was buzzy with a good mix of diners. My only gripe about this restaurant was that the diner beside me was incessantly speaking loudly on his mobile phone. This is hardly the restaurants fault but it did take from the dining experience. Overall based on todays visit I would return for the food.

Went here and had the early bird. My partner opted for the pork belly starter and the duck for mains. I had the bruschetta and tiger prawns with penne. Had a lovely bottle of red to wash it down, was all delicious and good value also @ €17 for 2 courses! We were the first ones in there (was around 5:30pm) but the place soon filled up!

Visited here at lunchtime. The tables had begun to clear so there was plenty of room, we had our choice of good tables. Went for the beef bourgignon and the boulevard chicken... yum to both. Lovely friendly service and refills offered on the coffees! Haven't seen that in a long time. Don't know why it took me so long to come back! Will be back again..

i ate here on monday night with my boyfriend and was initially very impressed, the interior adn atmosphere of the place is wonderful. unfortunately the food and the service in this restaurant is a let down. we felt far too rushed in ordering our food and for both my starter and main course i was brought the wrong dish (the waiter did not take the time to write down our order and obviously mixed things up). when the food eventually did arrive it was very dissapointing. i had the goats cheese salad for my starter which was just an undercooked lump of cheese placed on top of some tasteless rocket with some onions ont he plate. i had the carbonara pasta for my main and it was wholly underwhelming. i would say that the place is good value in that we got two courses for €17 but i wouldnt say that the food we recieved was even worth that much. i will not be returning here

Ate here last night with the girls. Food was delicious....had the chefs special which was a very tasty plaice. Excellent value for money with 2 courses for €17. The waiters were very friendly and nice but I felt a little unattentive (not bringing water, couldn't get their attention, not clearing plates away etc).....perhaps down to the fact that they appeared to be understaffed. Great relaxed atmosphere, the whole group thouroughly enjoyed their meal and will definitely return.

My girlfriend and I went for the early bird here on a Monday and were very impressed. Obviously fantastic value, but there was no sign that the meals were any smaller than the a la carte. We share a blue cheese and pudding salad which was excellent, and then I had a Tiger Prawn Linguine. Probably the best prawns I have had in a long time. They were huge, and very absorbed the flavour of the dish beautifully. My girlfriend was also very impressed by her Beef Bourguignon, not really my favourite but she was happy. When I asked about desserts, a slice of each was brought out on a plate so that I could actually see what the food looked like. This was a great idea and really helped, even if it was hard to choose. My only disappointment was the Mud Pie which wasn't as good as I had hoped. After the prawns though, anything would be a slight disappointment. All in All, we really enjoyed our meal.

We ate in Boulevard cafe at the weekend. We ordered the Cajun Chicken Caesar Salad and the Chicken Fillet with Salsa. The waiters were nice initially and smartly presented. However I was not impressed when my lunch was served by someone who arrived in street clothes, jeans and tee...? The Chicken fillet was served with a very tasty salsa but what really disappointed me were the frozen style packet potato wedges which were on the plate! Really awful. The whole dish was far too oily for my liking. The Cajun Caesar was poor. The chicken was coated in Cajun spices after it had been cooked and sliced. The chicken was not warm as we had expected but cold... the dressing was not a good quality Caesar dressing, there were no anchovies or egg either, the lettuce was not Cos but baby Gem or similar. Saying all that, Boulevard café is not an expensive restaurant but, the most irritating part of my visit was when I questioned the frozen wedges the response I got was, well you don't have to eat them! The Boulevard is a cheap restaurant by city centre standards but I won't be back in a hurry and will spend my hard earned money in a restaurant that appreciates its customers.

This is a very good restaurant casual in heart of town. The food is super and always good value, seafood expecially. Desserts are great as well and all the staff very friendly. Can get very busy at weekends though so book well in advance ideal for early bird or pre theatre venue.

Went here today with 2 work colleague for lunch. The menu looked intriguing and we thought the idea of the lunch 'if not eating in 9 minutes, eat free' was a great idea. So away we ordered and one of my colleagues decided to time the wait time on his phone, just in a light hearted way. We ended up waiting 18 minutes and my colleague pointed this out to the waiter who was unbelievably rude and walked away from the table. My colleague then called him back and told him he was shocked at how rude he had been and the waiter told him 'not to be so anal timing it'. We were utterly disgusted. The presentation of the food is nice but overall I found teh food quite average but the place was left tainted from this waiter's rudeness. I won't be going back here in a hurry especially when they advertise 'eat in 9 minutes or eat free' and don't even stick to it!

Went here for my work Christmas party. We had a party of about 12 and the meal was a real success. They gave us one long table near the bar at the back of the restaurant - the tables are quite crowded so it's a bit awkward to walk past all the tables to go to the bathroom. The service was really good - they didn't rush us and we all got our food together. I ordered goats cheese crostini to start, salmon for my main course and the trio of desserts were gorgeous to finish off. It was a really busy night too coming up to Christmas so I was really impressed with the service and quality of food.

Went here for lunch yesterday and have to say I wouldn't be in a rush going back. Had mussels in some sort of sauce, the mussels were cooked well but the sauce was not nice at all! Quite bitter and oily, not very pleasant. Caesar salad was ok, although it didn't have any croutons which I was disappointed about. My boyfriend has the cajun chicken pitta and chips and enjoyed it though.

We dined here on a Thursday night and availed of the €60 deal - 4 course meal plus bottle of wine. I had the Goats cheese for starter and the daily fish special for mains which was cooked to perfection. The staff were very helpful and attentive. While there was a full restaurant we did not have to wait long for our meal and there was no urgency with having to vacate the table. I will definately be back.

Went here for lunch with colleagues...Food was really lovely...very tasty and very nice portions! Only small downside was service was very slow, had to tell the waiter we were on a lunch break as waiting nearly 20 minutes for main course, other than that, well worth it

We have eaten here a good few times over the past few years and it has allways been good. Last time out i had the chicken wings to start and the Lamb shank for mains . Both were beautifully presented and tasted devine. I t was during last Decembers shopping frenzy after the first lot of snow ,we called in on spec the place was buzzing and the Manager was more than accommodating and we were seated in minutes. We will definitely return here.

met a friend here recently for lunch. Am delighted to have discovered the place. The set menu lunch is great value-main course and tea/coffee for a tenner. Service was friendly and personal, and efficient. Had the pasta of the day and my friend had the caesar salad-both were lovely and the chicken in her salad was really juicy and tasty. Will def come back. really good value.

I went here with my sister to have a pre-theatre dinner. We both opted for the chefs special of pork medallions which was beautifully cooked and very tender. The service was excellent and the staff very attentive. It was very good value. The restaurant was quite busy for a Wednesday night and the atmosphere good. We will definitely be back here again.

I had passed the cafe thousand times but never thought of stepping in. But i was absolutely delighted and satisfied after visiting it for the first time. The foods were in generous portions but at reasonably prices, and of course they were yummy!! This is definitely a good place to have lunch for those who want to have a break from their crazy shopping. The only (but minor) negative i had was that we were rushed to leave as it was getting very busy.

Browsing around town last Saturday we were passing The Boulevard Cafe & was surprised that it was so busy, decided to give it a try. I had the Tiger prawns which were succulent & a perfectly cooked Fillet steak, my better half had goat cheese crostini & sea bass, Food flavours & presentation were fabulous, the service was attentive and there was a great lively buzz. With a decent bottle of wine we found it excellent value for money & will definetly be back.

I had a lovely experience in the Boulevard Cafe on New Years Eve 2010. We got a table for four at very late notice. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and pleasant despite the fact the were working on New Years Eve. I commend them for their graciousness and cheerfulness. I had the mushroom risotto which was just divine. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water. My friends had the vagetable ravioli, the lamb shank and the chicken which they all enjoyed immensely, there wasn't a scrap left on anyones plate. Also we had a couple of sides of the handmade chips which were just perfect, and ideal for a bit of soakage in the stomach for the night that was in it. We had a nice Sauvingon Blanc with the meal. We were in no means rushed by the staff to leave, however we stayed just an hour and a half as we wanted to make a move on the the pubs for the festivities. I would liked to have stayed longer and had dessert as the atmosphere was great as was the background music. I will definitely be going back to the Boulevard Cafe soon as the overall experience I had was just excellent.

There was nothing about this restaurant that really stood out. It was all fairly average. The staff were nice and service was good but the food wasnt great and the options werent great. My friend had the vegetarian risotto which she was not impressed with. All in all I dont think I'd go out of my way to go back here.

Chefs, please note - when you are offering a vegetarian option, do not include an ingredient that is sourced from a dead animal! Parmesan cheese contains rennet, which is sourced from the lining of a calf's stomach, and is NOT vegetarian! Why wouldn't you offer Grana Padano Parmesan cheese instead? I was charged €40 for a meal of brushetta (which I have to admit, was decent), "vegetarian" risotto - which by the way, wasn't fully cooked, so if I didn't already consider it inedible due to the non-veggie ingredient, the undercooked rice completely wrote it off. Dessert was a spoonful of cheesecake, a spoonful of sorbet and a small, very small, oh-so-small piece of Christmas pudding. Not a very compatibale combination, all served one one plate. The €40, by the way, doesn't include the cost of any drinks. The meal was a complete write off, and to top it off, we recieved really appalling service. I gave good marks for atmosphere because it is a pretty "space" and the Christmas music made for a pleasant atmosphere. So, nicely painted walls + good CDs was the only thing this place had going for it. What a shame! Never again.

Went here for the "Christmas Lunch Menu" for €25 - plus 12.5% service on groups of 6 or more. Probably the worst value for money I've experienced at lunchtime in Dublin, no cooked starters except soup, all just easily assembled course such as pate, or goats cheese. Main courses were VERY small portions, my turkey and ham was laughably small, this was probably a blessing in disguise as it was like a poorly reheated school dinner. Others in the group had steak (€5 extra), all said it was grizzly and badly cooked. Then came dessert, no choice at all but a plate with a "portion" of Christmas pudding and Baileys cheesecake, each was no bigger than a matchbox and easily the smallest dessert I've ever been served, everyone else's was just as small. Service was slow, it took 2.5 hours to serve a 3 course lunch! Coffee was cold. The manager came over to ask were we all returning to work but showed zero interest in whether we had enjoyed our lunch or not. There are dozens or other places in Dublin city centre that offer much better value for money. I won't be going back again, ever, even for free.

We had a Christmas Party here last Friday night & the food was wonderful & the service even better! I had the soup & the rib eye steak. I had wonderful things about the goats cheese & tagliatelle from the rest of the group. The only criticisms I had was that I ordered my steak well done & it was more in line with what I would describe as medium..and a better selection of beers would be great! Keep up the good work guys!

I enjoyed a lovely meal here with 3 friends. The service was really good and not at all pushy despite one of our party being 30 minutes late. The goats cheese starter was excellent, as were the prawns. Seabass was delicious with a very generous portion, tiger prawn tagliatelle was extremely light and tasty. Desserts were extra tempting because a waiter brings over a plate for you to see before you order! Even if you didn't want one it was hard to resist after that. All in all an excellent meal, I would definitely go back.

Has been quite a while since my last visit, so brought my mum & sister, the food was excellent I had prawns, my sister goat tartlet & my mum has a wheat & cheese intollerance which was great as they were well able to faciliate her with no issue, she had duck started and the chef special sea bass with mash & the most delicious stuffed pepper, I had the same, my sisiter opted for the carbonara, which was very tasty and not smothered in sauce. We managed to share a desert chocolate mud cake but was a bit heavy for us, I suppose after a really good starter main course and two bottles of wine, we were being very adverterous. The food is really good, and great atmosphere, the staff were very helpfull and understanding. Unfortunately our first and second choice of wine was not available, however the wine we opted for was really good, the waiter stated if we didn't like it it wasn't an issue, but it was really nice. Good value for money for a great meal, wine and service in a very relaxing environment. Well done!

Enjoyed a family weekday lunch here, staff were friendly and efficient, menu choices to suit all and food was well presented with adequate portion size. The only gripe were the toilet facilities which are located downstairs, which is not on for anyone with restricted mobility.

Was here with work colleagues for a little party, was fairly empty but atmosphere was ok, Waiter was very friendly and helpful, if a bit forgetful as had to remind him to bring our drinks twice before we got them. Had the goats cheese tart which was lovely but portion was too small for me!! Desert was ok...all in all wouldnt return as I feel there is more value and quality elsewhere in the same vicinity.

This was honestly the worst attempt at evening dining I have ever witnessed. Reservation messed up at the door. The temperature was very stuffy and uncomfortable for all. My family had eaten full dinners before 2 very late "hot" pots arrived, which were cold on arrival. The dish itself, after a re-heat was the worst attempt at a hot pot i have ever seen, dry and minimal (unless one considers a lump of potato a meal) The worst part for me was yet to come. When I approached the manager regarding this abismal show I was told "These things happen" with a shrug. Not very forthcoming. As this was a very important occasion for my family and also my birthday I left very upset.

Perfect location to meet up with friends for a chat and beautiful food. 4 of us dined here availing of the early bird which was excellent value. Two courses for 17Euro. Everybody was very impressed with our main courses 3 of us chose different pasta dishes (I personally opted for the parma ham ravioli which was very impressive). The other dish was the fillet of atlantic cod which was beautifully presented and delicious. On our waiters recommendation we chose that one of courses would be desert as opposed to starters. A sample selection of deserts was brought to our table allowing us to let our greedy eyes decide! Each was truly yum! Would definitely recommend here, food and service were great and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

Ate here using a menu points voucher and found it a lovely restaurant. The service was very good and they were very polite even though we arrived 20 mins late for our booking. However, it was an early booking and they weren't very busy.As we didn't have much time as we were goin to a play we decided to just have a main even though their 2 course early bird is very good at only €1 more for a second course aswell as the main.We both had the vegetarian risotto with asparagus and it was delicious.Risotto can be difficult to get right or just taste so-so but this was one of the best I've tasted.Even with drinks the bill was very reasonable due to the voucher of one free main. Will definitely be back again.

We were a group of 10 inclueing a couple of friends we hadn't seen in 22 years and everyone was delighted with the choice. Friendly and efficient staff, great food at good value and so convenient for us all. I don't often go in to the city for a meal but if doing so again would be quite happy with Boulevard Cafe.

I called in here on Sunday evening with a friend of mine. Restaurant looks very nice and clean. The menu I think has a good choice for the early bird - Mains with Starter or Dessert - €17. we both had the bruschetta which was very tasty with the pesto dressing. I went for the Raviolli and my friend the carbonara. Both delicious and very big portions. Waiter came around with pepper and parmesean. All in all nice place, good food, prices not bad. Atmosphere was a little lacking. Would go back again

The all-night early bird @ €17 is great value and with wine @ €19 it's a really affordable place for a meal out for everyone. The starters of goat's cheese tartlette and pork belly were thoroughly enjoyed. There was no skimping on the goat's cheese, there was enough to last till the very last fork of salad and it was served on a sweet onion tartlette with rocket, pine nuts and dressing. The pork belly didn't last long enough to get a taster but there was lots of mmms coming from that direction - always a good sign! Unfortunately the mains of ravioli & beef bourginon(?) looked dry & tasted dry too, they may have sat under a heat lamp a little too long. They were still eaten up and the best part of any meal - dessert - was delish too. With two three course meals and a bottle of tasty chilean red the total bill was €67 - bargain!

Went for lunch here with my friend to a very empty restaurant! The menu was vast: I had a BLT with fries and my friend had a wrap and fries. The fries were not the best BUT the salad was fabulous and the value was excellent. I read a review that portrays the place very differently on a Saturday night. Perhaps it comes alive at weekends.

Visited this restaurant for the first time with a friend on the 28th of August. I had booked our table beforehand as was recommended by the member of staff who dealt with my phone call. We chose the special offer of a course meal for two - starter, main course, desert and either tea or coffee + a bottle of excellent house wine for €60. Our waiter named was efficient, friendly and an asset to the restaurant We were very pleased with the standard and quality of the food and the service we received. Would recommend this restaurant and if they keep this offer on I will return.

It was a quiet Sunday evening when I visited Boulevard. Although there was not many people inside, there was still a bit of atmosphere. Very nicely decorated, would definitely visit again on a busier night for a bit more buzz! Food was great, and very prompt! We both had steak. One was ordered rare, hard to get done right in Ireland, but this one was perfect. Also some of the tastiest chips I have ever had!

Very quiet on the night that we visited, however the service was spot on and food well presented and tasty. It would remind you of comfort food, eg breast of chicken on mashed potato ect. I had the brushetta and duck which was accompanied by red cabbage with ham through it. very tasty all round. would go back if it was a bit more lively.

Went for dinner here last night utilising the menupoints Free Main Course offer. Super dining! Though the decor is questionable in places, the food is delicious. Seriously succulent fillet steak, crispy moreish chicken supreme and the pork belly to start with a sticky balsamic sauce just flaked away on your fork. There is a perfectly adequate selection of wine and the staff are attentive, if not a little overly flamboyant at times! Highly recommended!

I was here on a wednesday night with a menupage voucher for a free main course. On a weekday the place was pretty quiet. We got a table in the back. I asked the waitress if i could order any main course on the menu but she didn't know. She spent a while talking on the phone and then after that she got back and said that we could order anything except for the fillet steak. Also it was not possible to use the voucher and order the pre-theatre menu. We ended up ordering the rib eye steak and the duck confit pizza because it sounded original. The steak was served with a small bucket of fries, and peppercorn sauce. The steak was served medium rare but to me it wasn't very tender. I had better steak. The pizza was bland with pieces of duck confit and sweet red onions. Overall I was disappointed by the whole experience, and the food wasn't that great. I won't be back anytime soon.

The portion sizes are a good size here, and its real comfort food too. I had the chicken supreme - which was roasted chicken breast, served on a huge pile of smooth creamy mash. The service is nice and friendly, and they seem to have a lot of regulars, which is always a good sign. Good deals to be had too. I like this restaurant.

I went there on Friday for a friends birthday. We all ordered the early bird special for 17 euro each. However when the bill arrived we had been charged 23 euro a person. They staff had also miscalculated how many people had eaten steak (at a 5 euro add-on). The overall bill was more than 100 euro more than it should have been. When we pointed it out to the staff they told us that the bill was correct. Eventually we had to show them using a calculator before they admitted their mistake. While probably an honest mistake, it was lucky that we spotted it and we were disappointed at the attitude of the staff when we alerted them to the issue. The food was nice and the atmosphere fine if a little cramped. But nobody in our group will be going back.

A few of us gathered here for dinner and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The service was very good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, the food was yummy and we felt it was good value. We'll definitely be back and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I along with another couple went in for an early bird on a Thursday evening so atmosphere was starting to pick up.For starters we had the Pork Belly which more or less melted in our mouths, the brushetta could have done with a little more garlic but the generous topping of fresh tomato made up for it. For mains I had the Smoked Chicken Arrabiata which I couldn't finish because it was such a big serving. My wife had the pan fried cod which was cooked to perfection. The rib eye steak which my friends had were cooked as required and were faultless. So along with a nice bottle of Chilean White and Spanish Rioja, the extremely friendly and courteous staff, and the fact we had a 2 for 1 which we didn't realise worked for an early bird until the waiter told us, it was a very enjoyable and cheap meal out.

My fiancee and I went here to take advantage of the buy one get one main course free deal which was incredible value. We both had fillet steak which I ate with precision as it was so delicious, cooked perfectly and came with lovely homemade fries and salad. I am not the biggest steak eater unlike my fiancee who is obsessed and we were both impressed. we had a lovely bottle of chianti (wine menu is quite expensive) with it and macchiatto's to finish which came withthe best biscuits. The staff were amazing, one guy in particular who was so friendly and down to earth, polish guy (cant remember his name, oops), the music was so happily unexpected and refreshing for the surroundings but fit so well, acoustic and soft nirvana, led zeppilin songs and such genres. Will be back again.

Was here the other night with two friends. had a really enjoyable night. Food was excellent and very good value. We availed of the early bird menu which is two courses for €17. Super value! Food was really yum and service was very good. We were not at all rushed and made to feel we could take out time. House wine was nice too. Booking is necessary so you don't miss out! Will definitely be back!

Came here last week with my friend for dinner. we used our menupages buy one main course get one free voucher which made it extremely good value for money. the staff were very friendly and accommodating and agreed to make me a veggie pizza even though there wasn't one on the menu. We enjoyed our food but i think the pizza base was a bit too dry and chewy. Not many vegetarian options but all in all a pleasant experience. will return

Myself and two girlfriends went to this restuarant last night for a girls' night out. We had not been to Cafe Boulevard for a few years, but always liked it for the atmosphere. However, last night surpassed our expectations. From the minute we walked in, we were looked after so well. Our table was not ready, so we had to wait at the bar, but the waiter was so nice we did not mind. He and all the other waiters there were so entertaining! Our waiter was so funny and witty, had is in stitches laughing most of the time. After having a lovely dinner (the ravioli with parma ham and rocket is lovely) and the house wine, both red and white, were excellent, at only €19 a bottle each, we will be back, for the food and service. !

I ate here on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. There were no free tables when we were leaving which is always a good sign. I was very happy with my meal. I had the Bruschetta to start and the Parma Ham Ravioli for mains. Both dishes were really tasty. The service was very good. We were asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything a number of times during the meal. Overall I was very happy with the restaurant and will be back again.

Had lovely dinner here with 2 friends on a busy Fri night.Bruschetta was fab-generous portion of beautifully flavoured tomatoes. Sea bass was very tasty but a bit on small side. My friend's beef was super.apart from a girl singing at loud volume at end of night from her table, it was a very enjoyable night.

Super spot for a hen party or if a lively atmosphere is what you are after... We were one of 3 hen parties in the restaurant last Sat, so word has obviously got out! Service is prompt and staff excellent, with the exception of one surly staff member, who asked us to close the restaurant door and remain on the kerbsite, while he spent 8 mins seating other customers ahead of our party.(.Prompt seating of large parties should be a prerequisite at any time, and thankfully it wasn't raining) Food was delicious and came quickly- prawn starter is to die for and the seabass main is sublime also..35 euro is a little steep though for a set group menu, especially in such 'deal friendly' times...There is a wonderful waiter who doubles as a DJ later in the night and he is the biz! Fabulous personality and keeps a party atmosphere going- he had the brides to be dancing on chairs and the rest of us dancing too!.. This may not be the best environs if a quiet 1st date restaurant is what you are after! All in all- lovely restaurant and food, despite the initial kerb crawl inflicted....!

I got the goats cheese starter which was gorgeous. For my main course I had the prawn pasta which I found bland and the pasta more like noodles. Great value menu. The staff were nice but were chatting to each other very loudly I could barely here the person i was with. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the staff were singing loudly to the music. I just felt this was a little poor.

Prompt service and good location. However menu needs to be updated. The menu on menupages is dissimilar from the restaurant.I was somewhat disappointed that the salmon didnt come on a bed of rissoto but a pile of spuds.Elegant and neatly piled like a structure it looked but taste wise, wasnt extraordinary.Lunch deals are amazing with most mains around e10.They offer green thai curry-very much varied and contemporary menu compared to the usual european fare. Was a nice change and interior was rustic and cosy.

Visited on Tuesday night with a friend. We arrived at 6.30 and were greeted and seated very promptly by a very friendly cheerful waiter. We were quickly offered something to drink while we looked through the menu. Good choice of starters. I ordered the pork belly which was very tasty while my friend had the goats cheese tartlet which was equally good. For mains, I ordered the chicken supreme which was well portioned, piping hot and delicious. My friend had the smoked salmon pasta dish, outstanding was his verdict on this dish. This was all washed down with a lovely bottle of Selini. We shared a dessert which was raspberry cheesecake, definitely homemade and delicious. All the while we found the service friendly, efficient with some light banter thrown from a very entertaining waiter, who without being intrusive, made our experience all the more enjoyable! It's always good when the waiter can anticipate what the customers needs are and in this restaurant, this was done to perfection! My evening in Boulevard cafe was thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended from this diner!

Visited Boulevard for my partners birthday party on friday night, 10 in total attended and everyone agreed that it was a fantastic evening! The food was exquisite, although my steak was slightly undercooked for my liking, it was extremely good quality and absolutely delicious! The waiting staff were extremely attentive, as soon as we arrived we were brought drinks. We were given ample time to decide what we wanted from the mouth watering menu and the meal was very relaxed. After our meal, the staff ensured that everyone had a night to remember, with great music, dancing and drinks flowing, this restaurant goes that extra mile that makes it unique and memorable! We will defineately be back and I highly recommend it to anyone!

I ate here with 2 of my friends and to be honest I would be in no rush to return to there anytime soon. I found the place very rushed and I couldn’t enjoy my meal. The starters were very mediocre for the 3 of us we were not overly impressed. I had the smoked Duck which was a rocket salad with 4 tiny little slices of duck which was so disappointing. One of my friends had the tartlet and she wasn't overly impressed either. As soon as they had taken the starters plates away we had our main courses straight down in front of us. We had no time to let the starters settle. I found the main courses the same, nothing I had was bursting with flavour and was just ok. I had the special and my friends had the steak and Chicken which you couldn’t go far wrong with but they weren’t overly impressed with it either. If you wanted a very quick bite I would say it’s the place to go but if you were looking to relax and enjoy your meal don’t go there. I found the staff very rushed which made me even more uncomfortable and uneasy in the place. We were in and out of the place in less than an hour for a three course meal that’s way too overly rushed.

Very disappointed with the meal I had here with a large group last Friday. Menu was a €35, 3 course, set menu that added €5 supplements for the only two dishes worth having. A menu is either a fixed price set menu or it isn't, so please make up your mind. Any venue that can't offer a quality three course offering for under €30 is still living in the Celtic Tiger era. The wine was truly awful.€22 Montepulciano that is undrinkable. I'd gladly more for something palatable. Not going back, ever.

Went here for lunch just after christmas. What seemed to be an extended french family occupied two large tables and they told us it was the best food they had eaten yet on their visit to dublin. The food is indeed very good as is the excellent service and it didn't break the bank being so soon after xmas. We found it hard to leave and lingered over a glass or two of wine before feeling sorry for the friendly staff. Will go back and often

Always wanted to try this. Nice decor and general look to the place. Prebooked and arrived on time. Food was very good and good value. All was fine until we were given the bill without asking for it, our water jug was taken away without asking, as soon as my scarf was on we were handed our coats with still a glass of wine left. Tables were rearranged around us with really destroyed the atmosphere and left me with no desire to return. We were put under pressure to leave and will never go back. Pity as the food was good.

Decided to spend my menu points here & I enjoyed the experience so much I have been back to the restaurant numerous times for lunch in the last couple of months! The food is excellent quality & the presentation is wonderful. The staff are attentive & very helpful. While I have eaten various dishes I keep reverting back to their delish salmon! They are very reasonably priced.

Overall, I had a very nice dining experience here. The choice and value on the early bird menu is excellent. My only complaint is that the mashed potato was very bland - the rest of my meal was lovely so this just let it down slightly. The atmosphere and staff are definite pluses.

Went here (Exchequer St.) with my boyfriend for my b-day dinner. We had the evening value meal for two which is great. You still can select from a good part of their menu and you get a bottle of wine with it. The wine was o.k. and the food was great. The service was also very good. Overall a very enjoyable and yummy experience.

Visited here with a friend on Sunday, the place was busy but we had no problem getting a seat. I had the Cajun Chicken Pita which came with homemade chips, very tasy food. My friend had the special of the day and it too was fabulous. The staff were very nice and there was a nice buzz in the place. Nicely surprised so am pretty sure we will be back...

Had a group christmas party here and we had a set menu. I had the steak and it was melt in the mouth. Loads of christmas cheer around the place and the staff were in a fantastic mood. There's loads of choice on the menu and the wine menu is fantastic. The only thing was we had to wait for an half an hour for our table when we had booked months in advance but this is forgivable in the festive season!

Visited here on a busy Saturday afternoon with 3 friends. We didn't have a reservation but were welcomed in to wait and given the menus to browse while we waited for our table. Really friendly service - our waiter was great fun. The menu is not so exciting but I must admit the food was really delicious. I had a lovely salmon fillet with vegetables and a more than decent glass of wine. Excellent value as well. I will definitely be back

I had lunch here with two others and the food was very tasty. The staff were friendly but our table really seemed to be overlooked as they were setting up for a large party coming in. We asked a good few times for coffees after lunch, extra drinks and the bill. It’s a pity the staff seemed too preoccupied preparing for future customers then focusing on the ones already there!

Two of us went there today for lunch, the food looked good, but unfortunately it never arrived. We had to leave 35 minutes after having placed our order, as we had to go back to work. The restaurant only had another 10 customers so I didn't expect such delay with the food. Lunch time is precious so I will not go there again.

Overall Cafe Boulevard was very average. We were a group of thirty on a Christmas party. We had the Christmas special lunch menu for €25 ahead. The restaurant was full and buzzing for the entire time we were there and taking that into account the service was very good. Very efficient and friendly staff. A couple of little things though - from the menu on the web site they say there is duck confit salad and fish cakes as starters. Neither option was on the menu and instead was replaced with a very boring caesar salad. I had the pork belly and it was beautiful - the soup and bruschetta were very basic, plain and average. In relation to the main course again on the menu it stated a €5 supplement for the rib eye steak - however on the night printed on the menu we were charged €7. I think we all felt a little cheated by little things like this. I choose the Boeuf Bourgignon - which again they claim was a house speciality. This was the most disappointing - it was more like stew - there were carrots, not traditional and certainly surplus to requirement in this dish. The meat was even alittle dry if that is even concievable for a glorified stew and it lacked a serious punch of flavour. The turkey dish and the risotto was again bland and boring. The potatoes with all the salmon dishes were very cold. On a positive note one of our vegetarians did not want rissotto and the staff very kindly produced him the most beautiful smelling ravioli dish. Overall, disappointing and just very average.

I came here for dinner with my friend, using the menupages offer for one free main. we shared bruschetta to start and had a bottle of trebianno d'abruzzo white wine. I had the fillet steak before and it was delicious so i went for that again. I was a bit disappointed as i'd ordered it medium and it was very well done. My friend liked her chicken supreme. with the voucher it was decent value and very cosy for a christmas night out

I visited here today with a group of friends and we found the service to be absolutely terrible. The management was the rudest we have ever encountered. At one point, whilst trying to give my order they actually rasied a finger in my direction and told me to wait. Their attitude was bordering on being aggressive. I've never been treated like this in a resaurant before and I was shocked to say the least. I let it go as I was on Christmas lunch and didn't want to ruin the day. The food was very average and the service was very slow. It could be down to the time of year but get more trained staff, it's not rocket science. And as for the management, disgusting, and in this climate they won't be around for much longer if this is their general attitude to paying customers. Much much nicer places elsewhere.

Visited this restaurant for a double birthday bash with friends. Perfect for a girl's night out. The atmosphere is fun and cheerful, with cheezy music perfect pre-curser to put you in the mood for a night. The food was really tasty with a wide selection of choice. Although two of my parties main meals came half an hour after everybody elses, we were soon cheered up by the array of desserts that were to follow. Delicious and Big Big portions.

Lovely little restaurant. I went here with 3 others for the early bird menu on a monday night. We were 30 minute late and even though the restaurant was very busy, we were told to take our time. I did not expect the early bird menu to suit all our tastes however there was a great range of food to choice from, including any pizza or pasta from the menu. Our total bill came to E130, which included 4 early bird plus 2 extra dishes, 2 bottle of house wine and a soft drink. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The food was to die for, very tasty and served piping hot. We each had a different dish and we all cleaned our plates!! I highly reccommend "Boulevard Cafe".

I went there with my colleagues. Altogether there were nine of us and we were all seated together at a long table which was great. The food was good. We couldn't make up our decision about the desserts so waiter brought us two different cakes to help us choose from. We spent a nice evening there and were all happy with the food and the service.

I ate here with a few friends for a birthday recently. It was a Tuesday evening and we booked ahead and they were happy to offer us the early bird menu even though our booking was at 8pm. The food was only ok, the staff friendly but the service needed a little polishing. I don't think that I would go back again.

Went here for my birthday lunch and the food was amazing! Service was great and the atmosphere was cozy and laid back. We got the early bird special, you can't beat €16.95 for a starter, main and a glass of wine with tea/coffee, at least not at this quality! I will be back, may even be my new place to meet for lunch!

I ate here as part of the dine in Dublin week and was impressed. I choose Boulevard as unlike some restaurants taking part in the Dine in Dublin week, the menu was quite extensive. I had the bruchetta and the Sea Bass both of which I was very happy with. I was delighted to see the Sea Bass on the special menu as it is normally expensive. The potatoes that accomplied the fish were yum. The restaurant was very busy that night and they seemed to be down one member of staff as the service was quite slow all night.

Had lunch here with a friend and it was lovely. The menu was nice, simple but enticing. The staff were friendly but the service was pretty neglected. We had to ask for the menus a few times after been left sitting looking around for about 10 minutes? Then we had to ask someone to take our orders. I didnt bother us too much as we werent in any rush on the day but if they tightened this up then it would be a good place all round. At the mement, it's good but falls down on,not service per say, but length and time taken to get service!

Nice place for sunday brunch, good enough choice on the menu, but salads a little pricey for what they are. Chicken pita or steak sandwich much better value. Atmosphere lacking until it was more than half full. Staff friendly and left us chat for ages after we'd finished.

Although a buzzing atmosphere, we found the service here to be rushed and impersonal. We felt pressured into ordering and the mains came too soon after the starters. As for the food, we had the bruchetta to start which is all about the quality of the tomatoes - unfortunately in my opionion they had not selected quality produce. The chorize penne pasta tasted like something I could have made at home, seriously, it was really bad!!! As for the chicken supreme, it was a bit dry, there was very little sauce and the roast potatoes were greasy. Overall, we wouldn't consider going back here and was dissapointed that our fellow reviewers had misled us in to going here based on 4 star reviews.

Went here for a quick lunch on my own, the service was very quick and friendly. The foor was so gorgeous..I would have preferred it to be a little less salted though, maybe ask for this in advance. The home cut fries are amazing, and the whole thing was very filling. I will definately be going back.

Had lunch here with a friend yesterday availing of the menupages voucher from my menupoints. I had the Boulevard special and he had the parma chicken. For starters I had the goats cheese tartlet and he had the summer beet salad. The sauce in the boulevard special was lovely and the chicken was very moist. The goats cheese tartlet was also nice. My friend was very satisfied with his meal as well. The waiter that we had however was not very friendly. He also didn't know what the voucher entitled us to and he came back and said it was only for a free main course however it should have been both a starter and a main. When the bill came the starter and the main were both taken off so we were happy. I would definitely eat here again as the special for €16.50 is good value.

had lunch here recently, have walked by this place on plenty of occasions and was never drawn into the place, but it was recommended to me so I went and now I'm so sorry that I walked by it on all those occassions. I had the nicest risotto ever, it was just fab. the service was great, the choice on the menu was great and the atmosphere was lovely. i would definately recommend this place.

I have passed by this place so many times and eventually ventured in to meet friends last week. It has a great atmosphere and their mediterannean pizza is one of the best I have ever tasted. The waiting staff are very cheerful and efficient. Highly recommended

had a brilliant night's crack here last weekend celebrating a friend's 40th. We got a lovely welcome from the minute we arrived in the door. There was over 20 in our party and the food arrived very promptly, everyone was very happy with their meal and were raving about the desserts - they really were delicious! The music was great and the crack took out, we all thoroughly enjoyed the night. We stayed in a hotel in town that night so we decided to go back for lunch the next day! We had a very enjoyable lunch there also. We will most definitely be back and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had my Dad's 50th birthday here with a party of about 30 people. We all had a great night and the food was really lovely. I would really recommend the duck! And the desserts were delicious! Everyone was pleased with the service, the food came just in good time and they were all very friendly. The atmosphere at the end of the night was great as we danced around the floor! Would recommend to anyone.

Came here on Friday nite with work, very squashed & grumpy waiters! food was ok but would expect more for the price, by 9pm there was only 1 choice of desert left for us all! the idea to get everyone up dancing at end of nite is good craic but would rather spend the money we paid on decent grub & service. Ok for a group but i wouldnt be eager to go back.

In a nutshell: Bad food, poor service and greatly overpriced. I used to really like this place but it has obviously changed ownership of something. The pasta dishes are bland and tasteless obviously put together at the lowest possible cost. You would have to look hard to find the meat. The person who seated us was very nice and interested. However, the waiter who took our order and served the food was awful. The bill for a 2 brusetta, 2 past dishes and a bottle of white wine came to €80. Never again.

Will definitely be back. Went here with my girl freind & another couple last saturday, have heard great things but never got around to going. We had the tiger prawns, bruschetta & goat cheese for starters, seafood pasta, steak & two other fish dishes, I must say we all thought the food was exceptional, particularily in that the place was buzzing and the service was great. It is a very much relaxed informal setting, I think it was the Gipsy Kings music in the back ground. There was a few different occasions being celebrated at other tables, I think most of the guests in the restaurant sang Happy Birthday along with Stevie Wonder, this is a fun spot with good food.

The words tight squeeze come to mind when describing this place!! It was a real squeeze to get past other diners on the way to the bathroom and even though we had booked a table for 14 I think they gave us a table for 12. The food was fine, nothing special. There was a great atmosphere though and the waiters were great.

Went with a group of 22 on a Friday night....you'd think they'd appreciate our custom as there were only 6 other diners there for the duration of our stay but the service was poor, the waiter very grouchy and not very welcoming. Don't know if the recession was the cause for lack of custom or the staff.... food was ok..nothing special

Was here for a hen night wih a group of around 12 people. Wasn't that impressed with the food, it was only alright. We ate from a set menu. I had steak for mains, and it was well done, and not tender at all. I had asked for medium rare. The sides were lovely though. the service however was excellent. Our wiaters were lovely, and couldnt have been more patient and fun. They cleared up around us, and only kicked us out when they were leaving. Great atmosphere - ok food

i went here with a group of 12 people on a monday night... as i expected the restaurant wasn't that busy... probably due to the recession.... that or the grumpy waitor we encountered. the food was fantastic and we would all have paid the bill without complaint if it wasnt for grumble. none of us could fault the food or the wine. all the plates went back almost clean but it was like we were being served by our grumpy aunt nora who'd slam the plates down on the table and almost tut if anyone asked for pepper, drinks etc. but having said all that... by the end of the night this waiters bad mood was nearly comical. would i go back??? yes i would, but with more requests for grumpy nora! :)

A lovely midweek treat! I planned to use my menupoints here and was also told that the early bird (2 courses for €20) was available all night. We both had steak which was served with a generous portion of chips and a delicious pepper sauce. From a great selection of desserts we chose chocolate cake and fruit crumble: both delicious. Extremely good value, will definitely be back soon.

Used my menu points to have dinner here on Wednesday which made it great value. The food was really lovely, mostly cooked to perfection, aside from a portion of overcooked chips. Didn't try the desserts, but they looked delicious too. The service is a little on the slow side, but friendly.

I had lunch in the Boulevard yesterday, it was my 3rd visit and my husbands first. As ever I couldn't fault it. Food was simple and well presented, and great value for money. If I had one small criticism it would be that the specials should either be displayed or mentioned by the staff without having to be asked, otherwise the service was faultless. My husband is planning a return visit very soon.

Went to the Boulevard Cafe on a Saturday night for a romantic meal with my other half. We'd visited before and had really loved it there so decided to return. The Boulevard cafe is a hustle-bustle place but the last time we were there the restaurant was so full of hen nights it made it impossible to hear eachother! It was so loud it was incredible, and then the dancing started on chairs so it was time to leave. The food was delicious and really well presented but if you're interested in a quiet meal on a saturday night, I wouldn't return here.

Went there on a Wednesay evening, was not expecting the place to be so busy due to the big 'R'. Got the last table in the restaurant and ordered off the early bird menu. Have to say the food was incredible, perfectly cooked and appropriate portion sizes, left feeling satisfied without over-indulging. Had the goats cheese tartlet to start and the salmon for main - salmon was perfect and the lemon-dill sauce was gorgeous. Great value for money, will definitely be back.

We ate here last night, a busy Friday night. We didnt have a reservation and we got a table, no problem. The waiter was very friendly and the food was very good. I had the Barbarry Duck and really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was very lively but not at all boisterious or loud! The only tiny grievence I have is that my sister order a side of Fries and it didnt come with the main cvourses - we had to ask for it, it was arranged fairly quickly and the waiter was very apologetic. I will def be going back here :)

Absolutely love this place! If were shopping up this end of town we always try and get here to have a meal. Fillet of beef is my auld reliable and cannot be faulted. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the place has a real lively atmosphere. We were able to book this place for a hens night a couple of years back and normally resturants shy away from gaggles of drunken hens but they facilitated us and kept the wine flowing all night. Pricewise I think it's very reasonable for the quality of food.

I often eat in here with friends at lunch and its always buzzing. The food is wholesome and good value for money. Some dishes can appear a little small but ive only experienced that once or twice. What makes the visit more enjoyable is the decor, its well designed for a cosy out of the cold feel, almost needs a big open fire to complete the look.

We had out work christmas party here. It was very crowded and everyone was squeezed in. We accepted that it was probably just because it was christmas and they were very busy that night. Apart from the cramped conditions the food was delicious. I was actually so surprised because of how busy it was but each course was just bursting with flavour. I will definitely go back at a less busy time.

A treat the Sunday before christmas turned into a disaster as we were home within 2 hours of entering Boulevard Cafe completely disappointed with our experence. Pizza was off the menu this night meaning the menu was cut by a quarter, we struggled on and chose 2 starters and two mains each.. none of which were exciting or had any flavour let alone any kind of true Italian flavour. The restaurant is clearly trying to cut costs by using poor quality ingredients. Waiting 20 minutes between two poor starters and mains just added to the frustration of the experience. Finished by a poor and over priced bottle of Pinot Grigio. We wont be returning!

Christmas evening menu - very poor value for money. The duck salad starter had about 3 tiny pieces of duck! Brusque service - very much a 'Get them in, get them out!' approach. Perhaps better at other times, but wouldn't rush back. Would expect better for €40 with a 12.5% service charge!

We were a group of 6 that all have had great nights in the past in Boulevard Cafe so we were really disappointed when we ate here for a Christmas night. Firstly our table wasn't ready when we arrived and we had to stand beside a couple who where been asked to leave to give us our table - how embarassing. The set menu appeared to be lovely but the Duck Salad was sparse and the dessert was miniscule. We were aware of the 12.5% service charge on the meal but I am disgusted that we where charged 12.5% on the drinks that we ordered (when we could actually get a waiters attention to order one as they were to busy dancing!) When I rang today to question this again I was informed that it was 12.5% on all of the bill and was rebuffedl. This is one place I will not be visiting again as the service on the meal did not warrant the 12.5% never mind the charge on the alcohol.

Disasterous experience. They had to create a table in the middle of crowded room, even though we booked 2 weeks ago. They had no chicken wings left OR dessert at 7.30pm on a Tues nite.........the mind boggles! Food took forever, service was woeful! It tasted great was cheap and cheerful..............but don't go if you're in a hurry! Certainly wont return.

Was here for girlfriend's birthday in a party of 8. Varied food options all around. Had buffalo wings and a steak which were both delicious. It's a very friendly place, staff are happy to help and always within sight. When 11pm hit, the lights dimmed and the music was turned up and ABBA started blaring. The mainly female diners slowly but surely all got up to dance until close at half twelve as christmas and 80s music played out. Great atmosphere (even with the dislike of the music choice) which lead to a great time. The place itself felt a bit squashed but nothing overly uncomfortable. Would defintely recommend this place for a female group, you probably couldn't do better as more or less all the girls seemed to love their food and love the dancing even more. That said, the food and service will not disappoint the men either,

Have eaten here on a couple of occasions, both times I was distinctly unimpressed with the service, I found the staff to be slightly sarcastic and disinterested. Food is fine but quite pricey and portions aren't great. Good place for groups, however I wouldnt visit here for a romantic dinner.

I booked a table here for my mother and my two teenage nieces and all of us were delighted with the food and the service. Our waiter 'Bubbles' was a character from another world and added to the atmosphere in the restaurant. We found it very spacious, service was good and we weren't rushed which was nice. The food was really good and reasonable, will definitely go back.

Ate here on a Saturday night with a group of about 10. Everyone enjoyed their meal, ordered from a set menu. By the time it came to leaving we were all in a good mood to kick off the Sat. night dancing as the atmosphere was great. Defitinitely a great choice for a celebration for a group althou we were a bit squashed we didn't mind.

I went as a party of six and therefore had to pay 12.5% service charge. I would not have been leaving a tip of this size had I had the choice as often the waiter was more interested in dancing to the music with his colleagues or listening to what others around him had to say, than concentrating on our service. Only ordered two starters. Soup of the day and the prawns. Both excellent, the only downside was the soup did not come with a bread roll or any side. Mains - Portions were quite small. 2 had carbonara which was reasonably bland, 3 had duck which was a small portion with a small potato rosti on the side, and 1 had chicken. The chicken was the best dish, it was tasty and a good size portion. Had to order several sides to bulk up the dishes. Desserts were considerably better than the mains. Ordered Apple and Berry Tart and also the Baileys Cheesecake. Both delicious. The meal was pricey considering everyone felt the main dishes were not up to much. This place might suit small eaters, but not for me!

One of if not my favourite restaurant in Dublin. Atmosphere always electric, fun friendly and fast service, menu has a great selection to cater all tastes and food is well presented and delicious. Went here with a large party for a suprise birthday on a saturday night and there was not a single feature i could fault on. I will be back again.

Ate here with a group of 11 on Saturday night, they tried to squeeze us around 3 small tables (that would just about fit 6people comfortably), we were so close to the stairs, that one member couldnt move his chair to the side in fear of falling down the stairs!! We complained to the manager on duty and ask to move to another table, but he was not very accommodating, so a second member of our party then complained again, and this time they found us a 4th small table to add to what we already had. The place was extremely busy, and there was a good atmosphere. The food was good, but the service was slow which didnt reflect on the prices being charged!! If you are looking for somewhere to eat in comfort this is definitely not the place to go!

Have eaten at the Boulevard a couple of times and have enjoyed the experience on each occassion. The food is presented well, is certainly fresh and has appealing flavours. Good atmosphere, feels 'a bit special', but in no way stuffy. Very comfortable environment and cheerful staff which trsnfers to the clientele so you catch people at different tables asking eachother how they're enjoying their meal! Recommend for a nice evening out, whether with a date or a friend. Intimate and warm.

Went here as a party of 8 and got a nice spot inside the door. Cannot fault decor or atmosphere....very pleasant and there was a nice buzz around the restaurant. Some of my party were not fans of the service as there was a decent wait between starter and main course, personally however I like this as you are ready for the main course when it comes. We had the early bird menu but the staff were flexible in terms of letting us choose some main courses from the a la carte menu. Food and value for money overall very good.

Boulevard cafe has a different feel to it from others. It looks somewhat more posh. The food is definitely good. Try their pastas! Their drinks are standard, with the usual coffees you name it. Overall a good place to chill, esp to have lunch with a friend who you havn't met up in awhile since the atmosphere will probably do the job for most peeps.

This restaurant was very good overall. The med veg soup was very nice and all the starters were appealing. Our waitress was very good but her colleague seemed to be very annoyed about something as she crashed and banged cutlery to such an extent we had to ask to move tables! Even when we moved she didn't refrain from her loud attempts at percussion!! Nevertheless, the value for money and quality of food is very good overall

nicely decorated spot with good views of people walking up and down exchequer street. Very attentive and prompt service. The food was very good, apart from the dessert, which was a little disappointing after an accurately cooked steak and delicious duck. Good value though.

I came on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was quiet so the service was very efficient. The manager was very professional and courteous. Starters were a little disappointing and the presentation was poor but the main course made up for it. I had the duck while my friend had the fillet steak. Both done as asked medium rare. The desserts were extremely disappointing again. Cakes which looked as though they were sitting in the fridge for ages, dry and cracked through. Overall, not a bad experience but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere considering the prices they're asking.

This restaurant has great buzz and atmosphere, I ate here last Saturday night with 5 other people and it was absolutely marvellous. The staff attentive and welcoming, the menu simple and delicious. I had Bruscetta to start, divine, followed by the Sea Bass, a favourite of mine, cooked to perfection, all others in my party had similar reactions to their orders. Highly recommend Boulevard Café.

Eat here on friday afternoon for lunch. The first thing that i noticed was the emptyness of the restaurant, there was only one other table there and there was no music playing or anything, very dead, as we were out for a celebration we were quite dissappointed. Going from that the lunch menu was quite limited with comparison to the dinner menu, there was starter and main for 15.95. Had the portobello crostini for starter which was gorgeous and my boyfriend had the blue cheese and black pudding salad which was lovely also but quite small. For main I had the chicken supreme. One word, awful. Was basically a breast of chicken, some mashed potato, broccali and carrot with a spoon of sauce around the edge, was so dissappointed. My boyfriend had the salmon which he enjoyed. To finish there is a desert tray that you can pick deserts off, i had banoffee and he had the chocolate cake, both of which was nice! Would be hesitant however to return as there are far nicer places in the vacinity!

We were here on Friday evening after work and from the moment we arrived until the time we left we were pestered by the waitress. Every few minutes she was over reaching in over the table filling up our glasses with water, wine etc - we were trying to have a conversation and enjoy our meal however this made us feel very uncomfortable and we really weren't sure whether she was trying to be helpful or trying to get us to finish up and leave. The food was ok nothing special - we had bruschetta and pate to start, no taste off the tomatoes and bread was soggy. For mains we had pizza's and chicken dishes - which were ok but again nothing special. Dessert again only ok. I will not be returning to this restaurant as I don't like being rushed when out for a relaxing meal with friends.

Boulavard Cafe has been one of my favorite Italians over the years. Their pasta is lovely and its quite reasonable also. Its quite a hussle and bussle restaurant which is what I love - regardless of whether its a Monday or Friday night its always busy.

Went here on a Friday evening with a group of 15. I ordered the bruschetta which was nice but very small. My main course of carbonara was quite tasty but the menu certainly did not leave me in a dilemma as to what to choose. Overall, I found the atmosphere/decor nice, the service good, and the menu limited (no pizza, only one pasta dish and no ice cream on the dessert menu!). I enjoyed my evening but would not return nor recommend this restaurant.

Arriving on a Friday night can be hectic. We pre-booked for 7.15pm, but unfortunately we had to wait another 20 minutes for the table. A group of three, we ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara, Penne al Pollo and the Roast Breast of Duck. Due to the large group at another table, service was rather slow. We received our dishes ten minutes later and they were worth the wait. My Penne al Pollo was very light, creamy and full of flavour. I really enjoyed it. The pasta was cooked al dente and the chicken cubes were also cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the dish included mushrooms, and I'm not their biggest fan However, i ate a few of them, and i understand they give flavour to the dish. Karl's dish was perfect for him, and Mom's was very impressive, with its presentation. After the dinner we ordered desserts, i had the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake, and Karl ordered the Strawberry Tart. Both desserts were very fresh and tasty. Though it was Friday and full, i enjoyed myself, and do recommend the Boulevard Cafe.

Ate here on Tuesday evening after being dying to go here for some time. Had a table booked for 7pm but we were running late so when i rang to let them know, a very friendly man said it was no problem. The menu isn't very extensive but we found main courses to suit us and we were very impressed. There is a lovely ambiance in the restaurant and service was great. On let down was the wine, we went for a bottle of the house merlot and it was the sharpest red wine i have ever had!

Have been to Boulevard Cafe twice, for a hen night and a birthday party! its such a great place for a party, but you have to get the late sitting! the food is lovely, but its the entertainment after the meal that is the best! belting out classic girly tunes, dancing on chairs, its so much fun! great place for a hen night or girls night out in Dublin!

I really enjoy this restaurant and have been there on several occasions. I have to say I have never been disapointed. The food is simply delicious and the staff are friendly. The chef even made a change to one of the dishes, after the waiter over heard my friend saying she would rather the pear salad with goats cheese, instead of blue, which I thought was very kind of them especially that the restaurant was full that same evening. Although the restaurant is not very big it has an atmosphere and buzz that can not be created. It is just perfect for catching up with friends or a friday night meal with your partner it just has that relaxing mood about it and the food is worth every cent. Definitely one to visit.

The deserts are to die for. I love the interior decor. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and at times intimate. Although on a Friday or Saturday evening it's buzzing. The staff are always smiley and friendly. I've been eating occasionally in Boulevard Cafe for at least 5 years and has never let me down, either for lunch or dinner. Pizza for lunch is delicious and for dinner, they do a dish with spinach, ricotta and sundried tomato wrapped in filo pastry and it's just gorgeous. For desert, I would recommend the strawberry cheesecake or the chocolate cake (which is light enough to finish the whole portion).

On returning to Boulevard on a quiet Monday night after a break of three years, I was very disappointed with what I found. We were practically the only people in the restaurant, yet service was slow and unhelpful. Portions were very small and the food was not of the best quality. Disappointing - I won't be back.

Went here with family and friends and had a great night. Tables were very close together but that was not a problem. However, subsequently went here with a first date which felt a little awkward as we were seated in the middle of the restaurant and we actually joined in conversation with people on both sides of our table! It's a great venue with really good food, reasonably priced but don't expect privacy if you want a romantic meal for two!

Recently went here for lunch with a girlfriend. We were having a girly day of pampering etc. so this was the perfect place to start. Atmosphere was great. We just walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon without a booking so I think we were very lucky to get a nice table near the window. I had a vegetarian option panini with salad my friend had chicken cesar salad both were lovely. And two nice big glasses of wine. I fully recommend this place it's fab!

Got off to a bad start here, after turning up at 8 we were told we had to vacate the table by 9.15 for their second sitting - we were quite clear this wasn't going to happen given that we hadn't been told about it when booking, and managed to be left alone for the whole evening, did put things on edge slightly though as they never actually told us we could stay so we weren't sure. The food was of a great quality and smartly presented, portions quite small but fine if you are having several courses.... the desserts were huge so beware!

Three of us had been to Boulavard before a few times, also heard great things about the service but to be honest we found the waiting staff abrupt and too in your face. The waiter messeed up on the wine,we were told neither the red or white were available, the white was then only avail by the glass!!The staters were ok,mains ok too but sides were tiny for the price they charge!Overall we were all disappointed and doubt we'll be back

I've been to Boulavard once. I had heard great things about the service but to be honest I found the waiting staff abrupt and arrogant. I felt that they were doing me a massive favour by serving us in the first place! The duck was nice but when I requested I would like it cooked slightly rare the waiter sharply informed me that it had been cooked already...The wine was ok but we were waiting ages to recieve it. A cute French style restaurant ok food but could do with friendlier staff...

Had a meal here very recently and decided I’d have to give a short review. I don’t agree with a lot of the good reviews this place has been given. The place was full of hen parties and the waiters came under pressure very soon that resulted in poor service. The food was pretty bland, most members of my party thought same. Mistakes were made with the orders that left one person waiting for their main course until almost everyone else had finished theirs. The waiter didn't seem to care. The house wine was standard vins de pays, but wasn't too bad. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

I love this restaurant. Not only is the food great but the service and eye to detail is the best I've had in ages. Always welcomed back on each visit, I enjoy a great meal for great value in the middle of the hub shopping area of Dublin. If I ring ahead, they will always oblige me with a table even at short notice. I have never been disappointed here and the staff and proprietor have a special way of making me particularly at home. I don’t mind waiting, as the buzz is great in this restaurant and a glass of wine and a chat makes the time fly by. Well done to all concerned. It's one of my top 3 venues in Dublin.

After reading a number of positive reviews, I took the Gorgeous Blonde for an early evening meal. The bruschetta was very tasty and the rigatoni was fine. The wine was excellent as well. However, I was unable to see anyone in the place under the age of 30 (other than ourselves). The noise level matched. Great if you don't want to be able to hear each other - perhaps not such a great idea if you are looking for a quiet and leisurely evening out.

Attended with a party of 15 people - service was oustanding. Everyone is still talking about the amazing food and service a week later and say they will never forget it. Those who had the steak said it was the best they ever had (parties included overseas guests). Would recommend this venue to anyone.

Had a pleasant, though over-efficient, Saturday night meal here recently. The restaurant was full when we arrived at 7pm, with a good atmosphere. We were given a wine menu that was dog-eared and had seen better days, plus it had a large chocolate stain! The food was reasonably good, but both the main course and dessert arrived very quickly, plus the waiting staff were a little to over-eager in topping up my wine at every opportunity. We had the table until 9pm, but we were finished and left shortly after 8pm! It all felt a little rushed.

Very relaxed atmosphere. I went in on a Friday at 6, well before the crowd. It did however get busier at 7. The waiters were friendly and did not rush us to move.

Have been to Boulevard Cafe a couple of times, not for the food but for the brilliant atmosphere. The waiters are all great, very friendly. The music is great & its a great place for a girlie night. The food is ok, nothing to write home about but the atmosphere & dancing makes up for it.

Enjoyed a lively evening here for a christmas party, we had the 9.30 sitting which was great as we were in the restaurant until after 1. Food was good, service was a little slow but with a group of almost 30 that can be expected. Great atmosphere.

Very nice food, making me hungry thinking about it. I went as a party of 6. We were all happy with our meals and enjoyed a good chat as we soaked up the calm atmosphere.

Recommended by a friend, we tried it for lunch. Of the three of us, 2 courses were returned. Service was apologetic but insincere. One of our party almost broke a tooth on a piece of stone embedded in the potato wedge. Perhaps it was just a bad day for them, but i would be slow to go back.

Had lunch here on a Saturday during as busy day of shopping! Very impressed with the set lunch menu. 2 courses with tea/coffee for about 13euro. The only thing that bothered me was that two of the items I would have first chosen were not available. However, my second choice was lovely- black pudding with apple pancakes to start and then a chicken dish with potatoes for main. I think the items change regularly but I would go back again.

Myself and some girlfriends book here for dinner last Saturday. When we arrived the room was full of other women i.e., hen parties. We were seated at a nice table , ordered wine, and they then asked us to move (over to a table near the bar/desserts) we did so happily as we were just there for a chat and a catch up. The food was excellent, I went veggie on the night and had the goats cheese starter which was v tasty and the Tuscany parcels (lovely but very very filling). We had a lovely night catching up. Staff were very very friendly but then came the hen party singing etc. The lights were turned down and Dolly Parton 9-5 blared out of the speakers and all hell broke loose. This is a fun place if you want a hen party. I'm sure they don't have them every night and I would like to try it mid week and spend a little more time after dinner finishing my wine and having coffee etc. I will try it again, but not on a Friday Night!

I went to the Boulevard Cafe on Saturday night gone, we had our Christmas do. It is a great place if you are looking to celebrate a Birthday, Hen night etc, it is really good fun. The waiting staff really do know how to party and they are all very friendly. This was our 3rd Christmas do there in the last 4 years, I think at this time of year I would be going for the craic and the atmosphere not necessarily the food, while the food is good, it can be served in a bit of a "splash dash" way. I understand that the staff have a lot of people to serve and to try to do it as efficiently as possible but something suffers when restaurants have 2 sittings in a night. I was disappointed with the choice of desserts again this year, all heavy stodgy Gateau's no simple Apple tart or fresh fruit salad, overall though a great night, music was pumped up after dessert and we danced happily around our table wrapping up at 2am on Sunday morning.

What a disappointment..decided to go here for lunch yesterday. On the first glimpse the menu looked quite promising but turned out to be nothing less than a disaster. The goats cheese tartlet was barely visible and the cheese too overpowering. My boyfriend's cod was so bad that he left more than half of it on the plate and the same happened on the table next to us. To top it all off our service was far from attentive leaving us waiting for our main for more than 30mins after we finished our starters and even charged us for our coffees although the set lunch had tea/coffee included. Maybe that was only the case for filter coffee but then that needs to be clear on the menu. Won't be back that's for sure.

Had my birthday celebrations here on Friday and I have to say it was a really great spot. Service was friendly and they even provided an ice cream cake complete with candles! Starters and mains were very good. I was particularly happy with my confit of duck and the fish was excellent. Dessert was a bit of a letdown with the Baileys cheescake declared as nothing special and my banoffee pie being mostly spray cream on a digestive. What I really loved was the fact that we were left the table until after 12 while listening to cheesy 70's pop. Aaaaaaaahhhhh birthday bliss.

Food is good here; I had the Bruschetta to start & the seafood pasta. Both were delicious but the portions were far too small. Unusually, in place of a dessert menu, a sample of each dessert was presented on one plate, a rapid description given by our waiter. Personally I prefer a traditional dessert menu. I had Baileys cheesecake, nothing special, did not taste of either Baileys or of cheesecake, could not be compared to the rest of the meal. Service was abrupt and rushed; we were forced to order before we were ready. On booking, we agreed to give back the table by 20.30 but even though we had loads of time, the impression given was that they just wanted us to eat up and leave. I didn’t notice any atmosphere in the restaurant to comment on.

One of the best things about Boulevard Café is the desserts which look gorgeous and taste just as good, the banoffee pie in particular. 3 of us went there last Tuesday on recommendation from other friends of mine. We had the garlic bread between us to start and it was simply divine, warm and juicy and really good. We tried the Penne Guilleamo, Pizza Bianco Verde and a Thai Chicken pizza for our mains. I had the Thai Chicken pizza which was well presented with sizable pieces of chicken and peanuts in the sauce which were most unusual and really good. Both of the girls were also delighted both with their choice and with the level of choice on the menu, there were so many things we would have liked to have tried. Feeling pleasantly full but indulgent we couldn’t refuse when presented with the dessert menu. The staff were most helpful in advising us on our choices and most attentive during the meal. Boulevard Café was a really nice restaurant and one I will be returning to as soon as possible.

A Friday night out here is an essential especially if you have something to celebrate. The night starts off as a normal night with great food and service. However around 11.30, the staff dim down the lights, raise the music and everyone has a great dance and a great time!

Highly recommeded - location is fantastic for shoppers! I have been here on numerous occasions. Great value for money. I just love the atmosphere here - great buzz! Staff will go out of their way for you. I brought my friend here for her birthday and they arranged a free little cake with candles on the house and even played happy birthday for her. Very sweet. Food is fantastic too. Pizzas and pastas highly recommended. I just love their starters too. They cater for everybody.

I just love to sit back and watch the action in this place. The staff are always friendly and helpful no-matter how hectic things seem to get, especially on Saturday lunches when all of Dublin seems to be trying to get a table. My 3rd time back, last weekend, was very enjoyable. This time, it was for dinner. I had the goat's cheese salad while my date enjoyed a bruschetta with a slightly different and very tasty take....I STILL say mine was better!!! I hate to be boring, but I order steak when I am out because I can't cook it at home AND make it tasty. MMMmmm. Heaven. My date had the duck and he loved it!! We shared a banoffi, fresh and home-made tasting. They actually present you with the dessert tray for you to select your sweet. Nice touch, though soooo tempting. Oh, and on my latte, there was a heart design. I'll keep going back.

What a great place for a birthday!! I went there on a Friday night with a group of 10 friends to celebrate my birthday. Firstly the Maitre D' was very accommodating in allowing us to squeeze an extra person onto our table. Our coats were taken by the waiter and a wine order immediately. They have the lovely Oyster Bay SB on the menu. We were all happy with our food, I had fish cake for starter which was tasty, but a little dry. The steak was lovely, and the portion size was fine but if you like it med rare, then order it rare. After a delicious Lemon Tart dessert, it was Happy Birthday time. The lights are dimmed, the music gradually gets louder, and everyone celebrating their birthday is invited to stand up on their chairs and the whole restaurant sings Happy Birthday, while a cake and candles is brought out. What a treat! After that the music stays on and we all danced while the very patient waiters worked around us. Even the staff seemed to be having a good time. The set dinner menu at €34.50 was good value, and although it was a little crowded, I would definitely go there again.

Went here last week. Unfortunately the restaurant was full of hen parties so it was very noisy but the main disappointment was the food. The starters were bland, the salad had no dressing, the pasta wasn't coated in sauce. The desserts were a little better but we definitely won't be returning.

Went here last week for a birthday dinner and it was on the whole an enjoyable experience. We had booked but were left standing at the bar (in the way of the poor waiters) for approx 25 minutes. No apology nothing, which, even though Im very easygoing, I took as rude. When we did get our table, the lovely waiter who showed us there and gallantly took our coats lessened the blow somewhat. Noone here has mentioned portion size. I had salmon, which was lovely and came on a 'bed' of mash. There was literally a tablespoon of it. I wouldn't have minded ordering sides but there was only a salad or chips. No veggies. It was my friends birthday and in fairness they did make her feel special, being extra attentive to her all night and making a grand show of bringing out her cake. Lights off, music up and the whole restaurant singing. The lovely thing about this place is that the staff genuinely seem to be very content and professional. They do not secrete the stressed vibe that so often comes off staff in places like this. Boulevard Cafe is well staffed - the waiters were all utterly charming. The Maitre D could take a leaf out of their book. Desserts were uninspiring., I saw a tray of individual Banoffee pies sitting out for over an hour on the bar before they were returned to the fridge. Cheesecake was fresh cream with fruit blended through it. The food was fine in general. The waiters and the location make this place shine

A firm favourite. I've been a frequent visitor here over the years and I always leave happy. The starter and main lunch for about €15 is great value. The food is inventive and well presented. The ingredients are freash and expertly cooked. And the desserts are to die for.......mmmmmmm. The staff are exceptionally friendly, even during busy periods and the speed of service is usually pretty good. And the best thing about the place is the rapidly changing menu. Rarely have I seen the same dishes twice in a short period of time. I love trying new dishes in a place where I know the food will be good no matter what I order. Really recommended.

Recently went there with four other friends, (two of whom went quite regularly and enjoyed it every time,) expecting a lively night. It was a lively night all right but not quite what we expected. We arrived at 8.00pm for our booking and were left standing at the bar. After 30 mins, the barman who overheard our complaints informed somebody of our predicament. 20 mins later we got a cramped table beside the desserts in the way again of the not so happy waiting staff trying to serve desserts to the other diners. After all that, the food was quite good if not a bit delayed. Having worked in the trade before I knew on this particular night it is was case of overbooking which points to bad management in my humble opinion. After all that, I won't be going back!!!

Came here recently on a work night and had a great time, the music and dancing is novel, really suitable for a night out with a group; wouldn’t be my ideal on a date though! The atmosphere was vibrant and fun and the food was of a high quality. The menu, although it didn't bear much resemblance to the one online, was varied and everyone enjoyed their meals, so it ticks most of the boxes for me, I’d go again.

I've eaten at this restaurant on several occasions over the last couple of years and has established itself as one of my firm favourites. There is always a bustling, energetic ambience, which creates a vibrant, city centre atmosphere that compliments the dining experience. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, providing an attentive but not overbearing service. The food itself is simple but more than adequate. There is no attempt at haute cuisine but the chef allows the high quality ingredients to speak for themselves and succeeds in producing delicious, flour some dishes. Whether it be a break for lunch during an arduous days shopping or a romantic meal for two, Boulevard Cafe will not disappoint.

Singing, dancing and carrying on. This place was quite a surprise. A friend and I had dinner here some time ago; the end of last summer and it was quite interesting. Really busy, we had to wait an hour for a table. We were sandwiched between two other tables with barely room to breathe, however the food was amazing. The salmon was cooked to perfection and there med. chicken was gorgeous. That even was a Saturday and there were two parties of 'hen nights' in and also a family gathering. At about 10.30 the lights dimmed and the music came on, the waiters were dancing and so were the customers. The food was amazing and so was the entertainment. I don't know if this is or was common practise, but I'm not sure that it would suit everyone. It was a fun evening and everyone was cheering, dancing and laughing.

Back in the office on a very miserable Friday afternoon, just had a lovely lunch there. Had the lunch menu goat’s cheese salad, followed by quiche and my friend had the steak sandwich. Very simple tasty food and inexpensive. Fast and friendly service and lively atmosphere. Recommend banoffee for dessert. Great value at €32.40. A lovely start to my weekend.

Having eaten here a number of times (evening sittings), thought I'd give it a whirl for lunch. Disappointment is the only word I can come up to describe the bland and scarce food. I have always liked this restaurant, but the food today tasted of nothing (salmon starter, pork mains, beef starter and chicken mains), and I am flabbergasted at the portion sizes - tiny beyond belief!!! I wouldn't go back for lunch again and I think I may be off put enough to not go back for an evening meal again either.

Has lost some of is atmosphere - used to be a real lively buzzing place! Don't like the set menu for large groups and if it's your birthday be prepared for 'Celebrate' on the stereo system!! Food good but not amazing would recommend the Thai noodles with Prawn and they have a really good house salad! We had no problem getting a table without having pre booked on a Thursday evening - which makes me wonder as previously you had to book a week in advance!

Absolutely Crap! I had lunch in the Boulevard cafe yesterday and it was terrible, I order the pasta of the day which was overcooked and the sauce was bland, my friend ordered the boulevard special which was just sandwich chicken with mayo, very imaginative! The service was slow and not efficient if you only have 1 hour for lunch! Would definitely not recommend this place

Had a really disappointing night there. Food was poor quality e.g. my "lasagne" was dry and chewy and tasted like it had been reheated. The pizzas were small and the " bruschetta" was just tomato on regular brown bread because they ran out of all other ingredients (but only told us this when it was on the plate in front of us!) My fiancé ordered steak and got steak only -there was no potatoes; vegetables or chips brought out or offered with this course. We were also given 10mins to order and eat our dessert before we were moved off the table. After that visit, I will not be returning!!!!

I love this place. Great menu, great food: can never decide what to have off the menu! Fantastic service from cute, friendly waiters. Food always arrives promptly and with a smile. Desserts are delicious - the Gateau Diane is amazing. Fantastic for a quick bite with friends, early or late, or an evening out. The prices are low enough to justify a midweek dinner, just because! Best value in Dublin, I say.

Have had 2 very good lunches here, reasonable prices and a high standard, Friendly staff and relaxed surroundings. Ideal for going in when passing by or needing a break from the shops. Also seems ideal for a mid-sized group for dinner where you can let go a little over a few bottles of wine; unpretentious surroundings and good fun.

I went to this restaurant last weekend for my friend's birthday. I had heard good things about it so I was looking forward to going.... Firstly, we were not allowed to order off the main menu - we were each given a set menu "since there were more than 10 of us". We were not told this in advance of booking. After some discussion with a less than obliging manager, a few of us managed to order pasta & pizza dishes from the main menu. When the 'main courses' arrived, we were left speechless. The portion sizes were a joke. For in excess of €15 you expect to be contently full after the meal, and yet we joked (only mildly) that we would all head to a fast food restaurant afterwards. This, not to mention the fact that the 'cannelloni' was most definitely reheated lasagne, and the steak arrived overdone, we were then informed that we had '9 minutes' to order dessert as our table was needed for a second sitting - a fact that also hadn't been brought to our attention at the time of booking. We made our complaints known to the manager, yet she did nothing in real terms to smooth it over. Knocking off a bit of the bill would have gone a long to making us happier - its just plain business sense to keep the customer happy - yet no such idea was mooted. A piece of cake was brought to my friend for her birthday, and we all got a glass of champagne... but this was done more out of damage control than as a kind gesture. I thought it was absolutely disgraceful they way we were treated. They happily took our money and kicked us out just as soon as they wished. Twelve of us ate there, and none of us will recommend this restaurant to our friends and families.

The lunch menu here is excellent; it's really great value and delicious! I've always enjoyed my meals here. I have often popped my head in the door during the day to find the place completely full so it might be a good idea to book a table in advance, especially if you're going in a large group. I pleasant restaurant with a wide menu and great desserts. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. It seems like a suitable place for anything from a romantic dinner to a large group meal. The decor is a little tacky but everything else makes up for it.

Great place for a birthday party or a night out with the girls! I recommend the late sitting as they pump the music up in this place and you can even get up for a bit of a dance! The food is simple, but good! The atmosphere really makes this place though!!

If you are looking for a middle-of-the-road restaurant, I would suggest here. The food is not amazing but I could not imagine any one walking out bitterly disappointed either. Nice range of food and the service is unobtrusive.

Have been more than a few times and have never had a problem. Love the variety of the lunch menu which seems to change regularly. Was there late one night and couldn't believe the fun we had, ended up dancing and singing.... Lovely friendly staff and they seem to know lots of their customers which is always a good sign, even recognised me on my last visit. Think it will become one of regular haunts

Ate here twice, the first time the food was gross, some duck pizza. Second time I was with my Mum, was a bit put out that the waitress kept calling us "Girls....Hey Girls, how are you? Well, Girls, have you chosen?, Girls, was that nice?", I'm 27, and my Mum is 62. Bit patronising. We were asked to move during our meal to a different seat, which we didn't mind too much. Food arrived, much nicer than last time. When it came to desert, my Mum and I debated over ordering one, but relented, we joked with the waitress that we would start our diet on Monday. As we were walking out the door, the waitress shouted, "Good luck with the diet "girls"...absolutely mortified, the whole restaurant looked around to see the two fatso's walking out the door.

Atrocious don't know how this place stays in business. After asking for water, the waiter brings it over and there's particles floating in it!! Amazing. Even more amazing when it showed up on the bill as "mineral water." The food is rubbish as well - had the fish and chips, didn't think it was possible to make such a mess of such a simple dish. The people who populate it most lunchtimes must have no taste buds whatsoever.

I had lunch here yesterday - the sandwiches were tasty and compared well in price to similar establishments nearby. The free coffee re-fill was appreciated, as was the interior decoration. Get there early at lunchtime, otherwise it can become crowded and noisy.

Perfect place for lunch...with a greatly varied menu, service is excellent and quick especially during a packed lunchtime. Always service with a smile too which seems to be coming a rarity these days! Coffee top ups too for those who aren’t in a rush! I recommend the Chicken Pitta - its fab!

Have eaten here a couple of times... food excellent, atmosphere can be extremely lively, especially at a late sitting! Service good, however waiting for our table for a while and felt a little overlooked! Good for groups - especially hen nights it seems!!

Had our Christmas lunch here, food was delicious but the menu was quite limited. It was a set menu with 3 courses (I usually prefer to have the option to only have 2 or 3 courses), however it was Christmas week so this is understandable. The staff were in great spirits and very friendly. The atmosphere was really nice and I would definitely recommend it and return.

Well I always like the food in here, it would be hard to get the menu wrong though! Staff are usually nice and friendly, only thing that really annoys me about this place is that they try to cram as many people in as they possibly can and I HATE that about eateries. Generally good though, so I suppose I would call it average.

My meal here was marred by some awful service. After being hassled into choosing desert, I was asked to move tables mid-meal with an offer of "a drink" as compensation. "A drink" would barely assuage my annoyance over our server's continued rudeness, but certainly didn't make up for this interruption. Criticism (or what little of it I could deliver) was not well received. The food, in so far as I care to recall, was mediocre: a lamb shank with some veggies that did little to excite. There are far too many other options in this price bracket to reasonably consider going back. Why settle for 2nd or 3rd best? It's your money...

Heard good reviews about this place. The food was good, except for the pesto poured on everything.

Great fun restaurant, always has a great atmosphere in it, staff are always friendly and join in group parties. Food is lovely, pizza and pastas, it’s in a nice area off Grafton Street ideal for a city centre night out.

Have had a few meals in this restaurant, was never madly impressed by it! Service a bit slap dash, food is average and they don’t seem to appreciate positive criticism! Need to pull their socks up to compete with restaurants in the area

Cosy, comfy and delicious. Service is always great, steak is a little pricey for what you get but the chicken/pasta dish is delish. The Diane dessert is amazing, I wouldn't have ordered it normally but the waitress suggested it and it was yum. It's one of those places you can return to again and again and always know it'll be great.

I had a great lunch here. The Chicken Caesar is delicious. My friend had chicken club in pita bread with wedges. The service is very professional and friendly. The bill for 2 lunch courses, one desert (yummy gateaux Diane), 2 cranberry juices and 2 coffees was ˆ32. It was great value especially considering that some restaurants in this area have "Saturday prices". I’ll be going back for more.
