Had lunch there last week with my sister. We didn't want a big lunch or anything too expensive so this was just perfect. We managed to get a seat beside the window, which was really nice. Lunch was only EUR10, it was great. We both really enjoyed the food, staff were friendly and efficient, would definitely recommend it.

I have been in Boccaccio for first time. my meal was very disappointing and I won't be back. Both my wife and I had Funghi Trifolati, which was completely tasteless and cold. Then we took two pizzas. They weren`t actually good as well, like took them out from fridge left them for ten minutes in oven, one of the worst pizzas in Dublin. Waiter was good. Sadly our local Italian has been crossed off our list. Don`t be duped here.

Four of us went to dinner in this restaurant. We had a generally good experience, but not great. The atmosphere was okay, but marred by many not-nice Easter decorations. The service was good, but not overally nice or attentive to filling our water. The meals were fine, but rather lacking in flavour. The one decent sized meal was the pizza, which was quite good. The three pasta dishes ordered were relatively small. Prices were reasonable, around 10-13 euro. The appetizer was tiny. We agreed it was fine, but not a place we would be returning to, unfortunately.

About 30 of us went here for our Christmas dinner and it was a very mixed night. Considering it was so close to Christmas the place was very quiet (apart from us) which meant the service was excellent. Not a single person got the wrong dish or was forgotten about- we were looked after without being intrusive. The food, perhaps because there were so amny of us, was a bit hit and miss. My veggie ravioli was beautiful but my colleague's pork was completely raw in the middle and had to be sent back. We got a fixed price menu which included wine and would have been very good value had the food been just a bit more consistent.

I used to love this restaurant and go there every weekend. After not being there for about 8 months, I returned and found the place had completely changed. The food was terrible, the pasta was served within a minute of ordering, obviously not fresh. Worst of all was the staff, the waitress actually started insulting my boyfriend when he didn't pronounce a bottle of wine correctly. She then threw everything at us and wouldn't come back over even when we were obvioulsy looking to order something. Unfortunately I wouldn't recomend this restaurant any longer.

Terrible experience - will not be back. I reviewed Boccaios about a year ago and gave it 4/5 stars based on it's simple tasty Italian dishes and nice atmosphere, times have defintiely changed. I ate here with a friend on Thursday and on arrival were given some bread. The bread was stale so we sent it back and got some fresher bread. Not a great start but we didn't mind. Unfortunately things only got worse. We had a shared Vegetarian anti-pasti for a starter - for 10 euro we got what was essentially a plate of unappetizing, unfresh olives - with a few bits of small vegetable thrown in. It was really disappointing. We still held out hope for the mains, as both of us had eaten these dishes in the restaurant previously and were looking forward to them. But this was the worst part of the meal of all. I had ordered the ravioli which I had eaten here before, but was served a completely different dish. Instead of tasty, freshly made ravioli (which used to be the case), it was frozen and reheated, it was probably the worst meal I have had in a resturant in a very long time. I didn't eat my dish and the waiter asked did I like it - I told him no and why but nothing was taken off the bill. We left very very disappointed at seeing what used to be a nice resturant serve terrible food, and not being bothered about it at all - will never be back again.

Went here yesterday evening with my boyfriend. We got the early bird special. (€15 for 3 courses between 4pm & 7pm). Choice wasn't too great (3 starters, 5 or 6 mains and one dessert) but in fairness for the price we were paying it was fine. Service was quick and efficient and food was served up to us quite quickly. We had the bruschetta and the garlic mushrooms. Bruschetta was quite nice, if a little dry and the mushrooms tasted nice although they were little more than thinly sliced button mushrooms in a garlic and herb butter. For mains we had the chicken and mushroom pasta and tomato and onion pasta. Both quite nice. Dessert was like a chocolate and custard sponge effort. Standard enough, still tasty. We had a bottle of house wine too which was very nice. All in all not a bad spot for an early evening meal on a budget. One real complaint would be that the tables are quite close together (some people had to get up from their seats to allow someone else to take their own at a neighbouring table. Don't expect 5 Star Italian Cuisine and you won't be too disappointed. Would more than likely eat here again.

The menu has lots of choice on it which might be the only plus to this place. Also the waiting staff were very friendly. The food was possibly the worst Italian food I have ever had. Bruschetta was dry and tough with a scraping of pesto, cold cheese and raw mushrooms. And it was tiny. Primavera pizza was dry and tough and impossible to cut. The parma ham was nice but the mozzerella was tough and chewy. Their Desert menu was those pre-bought frozen deserts you find in Chinese places. Not impressed. Atmosphere was nice though with a floor show from the waiters half way through the meal.

Myself and three friends visit Boccaccio's on a friday for a birthday. Earlier in the day I had left in a cake and asked if they would bring the cake out after our meal and they had no problem at all!our meal was delicious, one person had steak which he said was pretty good while the rest of us opted for pizza. The pizza was delicious and service was great!we also tried some brushetta which was nice enough but lacking in some flavour. In the end they came out with the cake, candles lit up and sang happy birthday in italian. atmosphere in this place is definately a high point!i have eaten here many times and will go back again!

We went there for a traditional Italian dinner, the atmosphere was OK but nothing spectacular. It was a bit pricey and the portions of pasta were a bit small. The Scallopinna al ferri were nice but again pricey.

Had the lunch special for €8.90. There were two of us. I had the tomato and rice soup. It was ok nothing special. Needed a bit of pepper to bring out flavoring. The pasta with chicken was ok. Again nothing special. The bread that was served was getting stale. It was not a soft inside. It had been sitting open for some time and was hard and dried out. This was definitely a case of getting what we paid for. Actually the overall experience was disappointing.

Great service and good value to be had at Boccaccios. Only complaint was the small portions of some pasta dishes. Limoncello at the end is a really nice gesture, nice place for an informal bite.

I have been here before & enjoyed my meal - however, last night it was a different story! Firstly, they have their early bird menu printed on a garish coloured plastic sheet. The menu isn't very explanatory! With just a word explaining each dish, IE: Fungi. We both opted for the "fungi" which turned out to be a plate of tiny cooked mushrooms - no garnish, and they looked and tasted as if they were out of a tin. Next up was the Pollo Milanese. I was expecting a chicken breast in a creamy sauce, wrapped in parma ham, which pollo Milanese is in other Italian restaurants. Not so here! It was bread crumbed chicken, served with a few fries, and a tiny side salad. The chips were greasy, & the side salad was predomitely large carrot shavings (do not like) for the desert, we got a small piece of cake, downed in baileys. It was soggy & not very appetising. Having a look at their a la carte menu, it was vastly over priced - a chicken dish costing €17 & a prawn dish costing €26!!! On the up side, the service was very good, the waiters were nice and friendly. And when we said we didn't want any tea or coffee (which was included in the €15 early bird menu) they brought us a shot of lemoncello - which was nice. This is a place to avoid if you're looking for a nice, good value early bird option. There are plenty of other restaurants around that actually offer you a better early bird menu!!

Used my menupoints here for dinner with a friend. The waitstaff were very friendly and let us choose our table after not being happy with the one in the middle of the floor that we were shown to at first. Food was ok, I had the special of the day, pan fried veal with potatoes and corgettes in a gorgonzola sauce. Not something that I would normally put together but the sauce was delicious. The bruschetta, pasta, tiramisu, and house wine were also good but nothing special. What was special was the service. The waiters were very friendly and efficient. After we order limoncellos to finish our meal with, they brought another round on the house! Nice service with a smile is rare in Dublin. I'll go back just for that

This is the worst Italian food I have ever had in my life! We had quite a large booking 30 people and they only sent 1 waiter to take our order, no one ordered starters just main courses. We sat down at 7 and didnt get our main courses until 10, some people got served before this, nevertheless it was all over the place no organization. I ordered a pasta with broccoli, chilli and garlic. There was no broccoli or chilli in site, but I was too hungary and fed up at this point to send it back. We were sitting with Italians and they were disgusted with the food. I feel bad writing this review but not only was the food horrible the staff were really rude. I have eaten better pasta out of a packet.

We booked a table for 8 for a special birthday celebration. The range of starters were very good however the food was not so tasty. The lasagne and raviolli were so light they were to die for. Desserts were nice enough too however the service really let this place down. One of us ordered soup which eventually came when everyone else was finished even those eating mussels. The dessert for one of us came without cream so it was whipped away and came back when we were all finished. Coffees were served all wrong cappucchinos instead of lattes and waiter insisted they were lattes which evenually came later. Was very disappointing and will not b e back.

I had a really bad meal here recently. How can an italian resturant make a mess of pasta & tiramisu? The penne alfredo (which I've had before) was congealed & very salty. The first piece of the measly amount of chicken in the dish was all gristle. My boyfriend had some kind of breaded chicken served on a helping of a dried-out cheese sauce & was less than impressed. Both meals tasted as if they had been sitting under a hot lamp for a while before they were served to us. I took the waiter's advice when it came to dessert & was that a mistake? I had the chef's take on tiramisu. It came layered in a brandy balloon & tasted of sambucca! The sponge biscuit layer was dry & didn't appear to have been dipped into any kind of liquid. The evening was a disappointment-even though our previous visits to Boccaccio were always good.

This is a real taste of Italy in Dublin and one of my favourite places to eat in the city. You come to Boccaccio's when you want a fun and atmospheric dining experience; the staff sing occasionally, the service is excellent and the food is as close to Italy as you can get in this city (especially for the price).

Myself and partner went here for an early dinner before going to the theatre so it was an ideal location. The service was good and we received our meal quickly, this was an advantage because we were in a slight hurry but had we not been i would have felt a little rushed however the food was lovely and the price is extremely reasonable for the city. Not a fancy place by any means but good for a qucik bite, I wouldn't recommend for a romantic dinner.

I visited this restaurant last night and first of all I was in a bit of a rush because we were going to a show, I told the waiter this and he was very obliging to deliver our drinks straight away. The food was UNREAL! We ordered the ravioli and Fettuccine Pasta. They were very fresh as they waitress told us they are made fresh in the restaurant and this was definitely reflected in the taste. The place was very good value and was well worth it. I will definitely be going back, can't believe we had never been here before! We would liked to have stayed longer as it seems like the type of restaurant you could relax in.

Ate in this restaurant for an early bird on Saturday the 11tth. €15 each for a four course meal, very good value for money and the portions although not huge were adequate in size but tasty. One negative is that the atmosphere in the restaurant was good but the staff appeared to be very busy in their service and attitude, in other words it was not a relaxing visit. If you like this type of atmosphere then do not hesitate to visit.

Had lunch here, great value lunch menu for 8 euro for pizza with drink. Staff are a little meandering and my pizza came down with one wrong topping but was quickly replaced. The pizza was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed. However, when the bill came down the drinks were charged as additional. This is the second time this has happened and although they rectified the bill immedately and pleasantly, I don't understand why a point has to be made on each visit. A pleasant, central restaurant with nice atmosphere and good food.

Better than I had anticipated but I wouldnt be rushing back. A group of us went here for dinner mid week, they do an excellent value early bird menu with 3 courses for 15euro, I had a very nice Bruschetta to start followed by the calamarri with salad for mains, though it was more of a garnish than a salad. we all laughed at the margartitta pizza that my friend got, it seemed to be missing the cheese.while the other friend was fishing for the fish in the pasta dish. It appears this resturant is taking advantage of the resession, I had ice cream for desert which was delightfull but the coffees were tiny. If your not too fussy this place is fine, but there are better Italian resturants for the same price.

No thank you, the only good thing I can say about Boccaccio is that we had a table in the window and had a fantastic side show that is Dublin city centre on a Saturday night. Obviously the fashion police were on a night off. Back to Boccaccio. I should have know there was something wrong when we entered - Irish cabaret style traditional music on the tape? The waiters/ess were friendly and the service was okay. We shared stuffed mushrooms (2 medium sized). I had the veal with mushroom sauce; what a disaster, the mushroom sauce was awful, the meat was rubbery and tasteless, the salad was limp with no hint of any Italian dressing, come on, this is supposed to be an Italian restaurant! In their front window they have a framed article by Paulo Tuillo, unfortunately it was too high to read so I don' know that Paulo had to say. I do know that you don't have to have Paulo's knowledge of Italian cuisine to know that this is a second class (imo) restaurant. Won't be back

If you are looking for a high class Italian don't go hear, but if are looking for a good value, enjoyable place for dinner you can do well here. The food is usually very good - I've had one or two visits when the standard wasn't great - but in general its good. The staff are good fun. They rush around, make comments and jokes, and if you are there later in the night, they sing too!

This place is is far too cramped and the service is all over the place - no waiter seems to have their own tables - everyone seems to look after every table which means you lack the personal touch. Had spaghetti bolognase which was short on the meat - if I wanted spaghetti with tomato sauce I would have asked for it! Desserts are ready made and well over priced.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and was very pleased with what I found. I ordered a penne dish with king prawns which was simply superb. My dessert was ok but the sponge could have been a little lighter. The staff seemed to be in great form and this was accentuated by a table beside me who beckoned the waiter to inform him that they were thinking of using the restaurant as a backdrop for a film. I also really liked the Italian music which the waiters were singing along to.

I will not return to Boccaccio. We were a table of six on a not so busy Sunday and service was incredibly bad, having to shout numerous times for attention from the wait staff does not make for a relaxing dining experience. The food was good apart from one dish, the penne was like dried rubber and our drinks were thrown to us like we were playing catch. Very disappointing!

Its an alright place, there are better places, its just handy if you work where I do in town, food was nice but wouldnt go mad about it, its actually pretty good prices though, will go again but wont go outta my way to, its loud enough but i like that, people are nice there, there are bus-stops outside and people kind of just stare in, its kind of uncomfortable.

12 of us from work ate here last Friday-it's a fun, inexpensive place where the food comes quickly to the table. Not the place for a quiet table for two!! The free round of limoncello after the meal went down well with us!! Would recommend for Xmas work parties.

I will not go to Boccaccio again. It's not so awful - there just are so many nicer places in this range. The service was slow and really random, the food was average or poor and the decor a bit depressing. Starters were good, but then the pizza was greasy with hardly any toppings and the gnocchis were a bit dry - but the sauce was lovely. But as I said - there's no need to return.

I have been to Boccaccio three times. Twice with a birthday party and last Tuesday with an old friend for a chat. Last Tuesday's meal went very well. Service was pleasant and cordial and the food was fine. Nothing special, not a huge amount, but enough and fine and priced accordingly. The setting too is fine and certainly very convenient to the centre of town and some nice bars around for after-dinner drinks. Generally a great place for meeting up with friends. The birthday-parties are a different matter altogether. If you let the staff know that it is a birthday party they will make a huge fuss over the individual, will help you with a cake if you bring one in and are very good at making the occasion special. If you are very shy, make sure you friends don't mention the 'b' word out loud!

I go there on a regular basis, with friends in the evening or for lunch. Nice relaxing atmosphere, a real Italian feel. They also have a great lunch menu at very affordable prices. Great value for money! It can be a bit crowded sometimes though, would be a good idea to book if you want to get a table at the weekend.

This is a good place for a lovely meal when you're on a budget. I went in a party of 8 and we all got starters, mains and desserts and 5 bottles of wine and came to 35€ a head. Great value!! The food is great, atmosphere and service good.

I visited Boccaccio restaurant last Monday as was meeting two friends in town after work. When we arrived it was quite full, there was a large party of at least 15 people and for a Monday night I thought that looked promising. We were seated and after a little while got our menus and ordered some wine. The staff seems to be a bit flustered because of the big party so we were prepared to wait a while to order and for our meal. We only had a main meal which was a pizza, chicken with cheese sauce and the grilled tiger prawns on the spit. In fairness the food was good, we all cleaned our plate and ordered coffee. But overall I was disappointed, the place needs a good clean, especially the toilets and the over friendly Italian waiters interrupting your conversation constantly(why do waiters think that when ladies dine out together we love being 'chatted up' cos we dont)could be done without.

My wife and I visited this restaurant about 6 times over the last 2 years. We keep coming back because of the friendly staff and distinctive Italian ambiance. We recommended it to a number of people with excellent reviews. However, last week, we were very disappointed. My wife's main course was cold and for some reason the waitress was constantly rushing us to order - remove our dishes and get the next course down. It was a Friday night but no time limit was on the table. Hopefully this was just a once off.

Back to Boccaccio again and enjoying the most attentive Italian service by the staff. Food was really really good- my Tuscan colleague kept licking his fingers with the bresaola and the goat's cheese and approving everything all the time. One of the best most authentic Italian experiences in Dublin without any doubts!

This place is great for a budget meal - does the staples of pizza and pasta fairly well. It can be very busy and the service is a bit inconsistent (but friendly) - I'd recommend it for a casual dinner but wouldn't go out of my way to go.

Was here for an early bird meal with a work group before drinks. This would not be my cup of tea really, great if you are on a budget and not fussy but otherwise steer clear. The place could be a LOT cleaner and the service was a bit haphazard. Early Bird menu fantastic value and if you stick to things that you can't really go wrong with (ie pasta/pizza) you will be fine. But if you are looking for somewhere to spend an evening in, look elsewhere.

My family and i went in here for a meal. They got all our orders mixed up, and couldn'tr understand half of what we were saying, but it was great. I would go again, and hopefully they wouldn't mess our orders up. I had a Margerita pizza with sweetcorn and onions, which was class, and my friends all had margaritas too. It would make my top twenty restaurants.

I was here over a year ago, on a Sunday. It was not busy and after 20 minutes of watching the waiters standing around chatting, we gave up on getting menu's and left. This time, we had a voucher from a friend. We went on a Thursday, if was busy enough. We got a window seat and that was pleasant. We paid over 30 euro for a bottle of wine which was not very nice. For starters, the goats cheese and asaparagus was very good. The plate of antipasta was pretty bad, a bland mix of meats and the smallest portion of cheese possible. Mains of Penne mari e monti and Tortilini Bocaccio were both limp. The prawns in the pasta were tough and chewy and the sauce which smothered the tortilini was more akin to a Sunday Roast gravy. The biggest killer was the bill of almost 100 euro. Plenty of Italian restaurants do it better and cheaper. The must rely on the passing tourist trade as the location is the best thing about this place.

Not a bad choice for an easy-going night out, but not for gourmands. The food is presentable - just don't expect cordon bleu! My ravioli was a waste of €13, a tasteless (frozen?) pile of stuffed pasta, drowned in an unappealing sea of tomato sauce. I tasted my partner's lamb steak and it was gruesome - again, I wondered if was a frozen steak. There's plenty of atmosphere, some of it unintentionally created because the space is squeezed to the max. I couldn't believe the live karaoke performer, singing Italian and Irish ballads. You had to shout your orders to the waiter! If you dislike loud noise or live music at dinner, avoid this place.

Have eaten here on two occasions and both were very different. The first time, I booked for New Years Eve dinner. Aftr much ringing around of restaurants and asking questions about menus we got a booking here with a non restricted menu. When we arrived, we were shown to our table in the busy resturant and given a set menu each. I said to the waiter that we wanted the standard menu. He didnt understand and got someone else over. Turned out, I had to speak to the manager. I explained I had asked before I booked if there was a set menu on the night or the normal one. She was very rude, would not look at me and said she would never have said that, and that I was lying!! I told her that a man took my booking and that we would be leaving. I decided to give it another go for a group dinner. The manager on the night was a lovely gentleman who made sure everyone was well looked after. the place was noisy, but it didnt matter as there was a group of us. All the food was fantastic and the wine beautiful. Talk about two extremes of expierience!!

Was looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful for Sunday Lunch with hubbie and kids, easier said than done sometimes in Dublin. We came across Boccacio and they had a very good lunch deal, pizza with soft drink fo 8 euro and pasta dishes for 8 euro, so in we wandered. I was going to be good and go for the pasta but hubbie and I decided in a moment of weakness to go for pizza. The girls decided on pizza and soft drink and we ordered half a litre of wine with ours. The pizzas came down and mysteriously most of the toppings were wrong, even though the waiter had written them down. My daughters black olives were a mixture of black and green and she positive hates green olives, my other daughters sweetcorn and onion pizza arrived down ungarnished by sweetcorn but the biggest problem was my husband's olive and mushroom pizza came down as an olive and ham pizza. I informed the waiter that we were all vegetarian and asked for my husband's pizza to be remade and correct other pizzas. The pizzas came down a few minutes later and sure enough, they had only endeavoured to take the ham of hubbies pizzas and loadsa bits were still on. At this juncture, we were feeling quite irate and asked for a new one to be made, the waitress seemed confused when I asked for mine to be reheated when my husband's was ready, eventually, I said rather loudly that I wanted to eat at the same time as my husband!! A few minutes later, two newly baked pizzas arrived. They were delicious as was the wine, but really it took so long to get everthing right. I liked the atmosphere in the restaurant and the food and thought it was really good value. Maybe some new staff were on that day and it was just a bad day. I would return and hopefully, the service will be better.

I just loved this restaurant which I booked for a group of six of us last Friday night. If you like Italy and want an atmosphere of a real Italian restaurant then this is the place for you. I would particularly recommend the goats cheese starter. The night passed so quickly it was tough to get us out of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning, as will the other members of the group.

I don't believe what these other people are saying about Boccaccio! I've been here twice. Myself and my girlfriend ate here tonight and it was lovely. My girlfriend had the tortellini boccacio which she really enjoyed and I had the pizza primavera, very nice. It was early in the evening so the atmosphere was fairly quiet. The service was perfect and overall we had no problems and would certainly go back again.

Had dinner here with a group of people from work - 9 in total. Thought the decor looked cheap and a bit tired. The staff were ok but you had to ask a few times for drinks, bill etc. We were told when we got in at 7pm that they would need the table back for 9pm which we weren't told on booking. One girl spent a while chatting to a customer instead of getting things for us so thought that was unprofessional. Also I was a bit slow with my starter of bresaola and they took away every one's plates while I was still eating which made me feel rushed. The food was ok, nothing amazing and price reflected that. Overall it was ok and I might go back if in the area and stuck for a restaurant.

Good value food, not the nicest but not the worst either. House wine was quite strong. We went the weekend after valentine's day and it was very tacky, plastic hearts everywhere and horrible decorations. Too crowded there was no room whatsoever.Very cringe when they all sang, glad the wine was strong...

Way cheaper than the €€€ would indicate. Nice staff and good atmosphere in the place. Chips were crap, but only a fool would order them anyway. Pizzas are good. House wine was a bit rough.

Have been to this restaurant quite a few times and always get a good meal. I agree with other comments though that service can be a bit touch and go and it can be a little crammed. However they always seem to pull it out of the bag with good food and friendly staff who can advise on wine and food. The early bird menu is excellent value. We will be returning.

Ate here recently with my mum who was visiting. I had booked but when we got there they seemed a bit unorganised and didn't seem to have my reservation which put me off straight away!! However, I have to give them their due, as they redeemed themselves in serving a lovely meal in a friendly fashion.

I LOVE this little gem of a place, I have been loads of times and have recommended it to everyone I know. The food is authentic and scrumptious, especially the stuffed mushrooms starter or bruchetta. On busy nights the entire staff stop everything and SING for a few mins which always makes me smile. If you love Italian food then check out this place, plus it's romantic!

I have been in this restaurant twice and always end up sitting somewhere in the middle of the floor with the waiting staff having to squeeze to get past you - Not a very nice experience. The food was ok, not fantastic and the last time I went, we spent about 20 minutes trying to get someone's attention so that we could get the bill. I won't be going back.

Having heard great reviews about this place I was disappointed. The place was pretty empty, yet we were all crammed in front of the window. The house white wine was very sweet and not really appropriate for the meal. The food was ok, although my boyfriend ordered the Mussels in Garlic & White wine sauce to start, and what he got was Mussels in lemon sauce. My Calamari was good however. For main course I had Sea Bass, which was beautiful. My boyfriend opted for Fried Fish, and got a plate of prawn shells, heads and tentacles and a few calamari rings. The side of vegetables never appeared, and nor did the singing chef that everyone raves about. The only redeeming quality of the dinner was the Tirramisu and Profiteroles - both excellent.

Went here last week with 2 friends. We were very hungry when we arrived. Ordered each a lovely pizza, they are really Italian, very thin base. I loved the one I ordered (quattro stagioni). Would certainly recommend this place. We all 3 shared a dessert, profiteroles, with a glass of wine. We had a great night out, a shame that we missed the singing (this should happen every night at 21h, but by that time we were gone already)

Ate here Sunday lunch time. First time here and it wasn't busy. We had a choice of deciding from the lunch menu and the main menu, plenty of options on each, which is great. I had a dish from the lunch menu, Farfalle Arboria - it was delicious! Not too filling, yet a decent portion - just right! The staff were really good and friendly, and Italian, all of which we were pleased about. I would recommend to anyone, and as Italian is my favourite food, I have tried Italian restaurants more often than any other type.

Ate here on Friday after work. Had stuffed mushrooms to start. These were lovely until I got to the cheese in the middle which was still a little cold. Then had Calzone for mains which was nice and tasty. For Dessert I had Strawberry cheesecake which I was disappointed with. It was in fact lemon cheesecake with Strawberry syrup on top. My boyfriend had Profiteroles for dessert which were gorgeous. All in all it wasn't a bad meal but it also wasn't great.

Ate here just before xmas. Good selection of food at reasonable prices. Enjoyed the pizza I ordered - desserts were very tasty too!!!! Half way through our main course I noticed a bit of commotion up around the bar area - all of a sudden the lights were dimmed & the singing commenced. I never laughed as much. I thought it was for someone's birthday but I couldn't see a cake & the waiters were moving through the restaurant signing, clapping, dancing. Everyone was involved towards the end of the song. It was quite an experience!

i went with a friend to boccacio on jan 30th and the place was packed, consequently despite having a reservation, we were made to wait before being seated. the service was very friendly when it finally arrived, but too often we were left trying in vain to get the attention of passing waiting staff - possibly due to the location of our table, squashed amongst other revellers against the side wall. the wine we ordered was very sharp but we regrettably didn't have the confidence to send it back. for starters we ordered cozze alla marinara and stuffed mushrooms, both of which were very tasty. as mains we ordered fettucine alla bolognese (as recommended on this site) and calzone. the bolognese was lovely but the calzone was too bready and lacking in filling. the meal concluded on a high note however, when the floor staff (both waiters and managers) turned up the music to an italian song and proceeded to dance, clap and sign their way around the restaurant, genuinely appearing to enjoy themselves. overall a little disappointing given the recommendations, but worth another try

I visited boccaccios recently for the first time for a friends birthday. I found the food to be delicious and good value and the service was excellent. The staff entertained the restaurant by marching around and singing with their pots and pans which upped the atmosphere. Would definitely go back again!

I visited this restaurant last Saturday with my boyfriend and I found it to be ok. It was very busy and really noisy so not ideal for a romantic meal out. But I would recommend it if you're looking for somewhere to go with the girls/lads or if it's a birthday (the waiters sing to you!) because the place is very lively. The service could've been better. We had to wait a while before we even got our drink order taken and had to ask twice for the bill. The food was fine. I had stuffed mushrooms for starters. Very tasty & huge. I had the fillet steak and it was perfectly cooked and served with the most delicious roast potatoes. The side dishes are a little bit overpriced. We had the house wine, which was recommended by the waitress and it was very nice & reasonable. The panna cotta for dessert was probably the highlight of the meal. This place is definitely worth a try.

I have visited Boccaccio a good few times, and i have to say the food and service is excellent. Main Courses are reasonably priced, and they have an interesting selection of wines. I highly recommend their Bolognese, but ask for it with Fettuccine instead of Spaghetti and you won't be disappointed!

Read reviews and was really looking forward to eating here. However, my special occasion was ruined. Starters were poor and over cooked, my pasta was too spicy and dry, not even fresh pasta. Steaks that were ordered were tough, way too over priced for what it was. And to top it all was seated next to a hen party that was so loud that we all had to shout over the noise to talk. I just wish I had complained at the time.

I ate in this restaurant last night, and I was very disappointed to see that the prices on the menu on this site are a lot different from the actual menu at the restaurant. They need to update it, as it is very misleading. Also I got a pasta dish which the waiter told me was very spicy and it was not, and I asked for some chicken in my dish and they charged me €3.50 and all I got was a measly little bit of chicken.

I've been here twice, once with my girlfriend and once with a large group. I'd highly recommend going with a large group on a quiet night as the staff certainly liven things up. The food is quite ordinary but the service makes up for it. We had opera singing chefs and found some of our group dancing traditional Italian style with the waitresses, great fun! Not too expensive either. Free shots of limoncello help matters too!

Love the atmosphere in this restaurant. Especially love when all the staff stop working and start singing for a short time - including the chef. The food is great; the staff are great and all from Italy. Visit here you will enjoy it.

I first ate in Boccaccio about 8 years ago when it first opened and I used to have lunch there at least three times a week. Went in the other night for the first time in about four years. Still the same Italian cuisine and still the same prices, both of which are great. Down to Earth Italian menu and very friendly service as always. If you like basic traditional Italian cooking with good service Boccaccio will deliver. Great to see Boccaccio are still going strong, and its no surprise. Go on the Boccaccio's.

Even though I'm not a great fan of Italian cuisine anytime I've been here I've been very happy. The food is reasonably priced and I've always found the staff very amiable. The atmosphere was always relaxed, cheerful and unpretentious.

I have been here only twice once last year and once last weekend, I was shocked at the difference and sickened that my pizza was delivered to our table by someone chewing away a some chewing gum, which I suppose is not as bad as chewing on my pizza but as far as I’m concerned he was welcome to it, it was burnt at the bottom which I can safely say did absolutely nothing for the sauce, the ratio of cheese to toppings seemed a bit out of balance in book? My partner had Spaghetti ala Bolognese … or is should say the single meat ball in some tomatoeee paste sauce as it were? Lucky for me he had order chips and filled up on the pasta; I could have gone to the local one stop chip shop and paid what… €2 for my lavish chip buddy? As for Quality… none at All… Over “All”… Not impressed at All!!

My favourite pizza place in town. Food is lovely, and the atmosphere even better. Five stars for the staff who make the place very special. I've been there good few times already and always left happy and satisfied.

Haven’t had dinner here yet but the Lunch is the best value I have come across yet. They have pizzas and pastas lunch plates fro under a tenner and with drinks you will leave full and happy for the same price as a crap sandwich bag of crisps and a drink from Spar! Great staff and very quick. Perfect lunchtime dining.

Very efficient friendly staff. However I think it's a bit pricey. Great choice on the menu and I will be back. They left us sit to enjoy a glass of wine after the meal when everybody else had left and did not rush us out. Quite rare in my opinion.

The food is pretty average here, the insides are a bit tacky, Italian candles, bunting, etc. Staff are nice. The price is quite expensive for what you get, it seemed to be full of tourists. Doubt I'll be returning. Might be good for groups though, there was an Italian stag party there, about 34 of them!

Had a fabulous night here on Saturday as part of a hen party. The staff bent over backwards for us and allowed us to sing and dance around the restaurant. Not the place for a quiet romantic meal. Everyone loved their food and the mussels are absolutely gorgeous to start with. A little pricey for an Italian but it could just have been all of the wine consumed!!!!!

Had early dinner here on a Friday straight after work, was empty at 5.45 but an hour later was packed. Nice friendly Italian, food was all right, no great flavours from it though. The one thing I didn't like was that the waiter did not return with our change at all, just presumed it was the tip and never came back!! The change was €8 and the food was not worth that. After waiting for 10mins we left. If going there, watch out for this.

I went to this restaurant with my two friends. We booked for 9pm and arrived just before 9. We had to queue outside the door until 9.15 and when inside we had to wait another 10mins for our table. The waiting staff were very friendly and entertaining. The food however was disappointing. The started was ok. I ordered a pasta dish and the pasta wasn’t cooked. It was quiet rubbery. Over all I wouldn’t be in a hurry to eat there again.

I have frequented Boccacios a lot over the last 2 years and all I can say it is one of the best Italian Restaurants in Ireland. I never get tired of the staff signing "Mama" during the evening, and the free homemade shot of grappa goes down a treat. A three course meal will not set you back more than 30e, and the Il Cartoccio is to die for.

Was here on Saturday. Had the early bird, which was super value. It was busy for such an early time so the atmosphere was nice. The staff are all Italian and very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Pizza bases are lovely and toppings are light, which is the way Pizza should be. Will certainly be back.

The food here is okay. I do feel like it came out of a microwaveable dinner and they put it on a plate. For the prices I believe you should get more. The restaurant isn’t great looking inside either... overall.. The service is good though.. Very friendly, but they should rethink their dishes!

Boccaccio was first recommended to me by an Italian friend who said that it was the best Italian food she had found in Dublin. She wasn't wrong! Really good authentic food and not too expensive. I'd agree with the previous reviews that say it's a great place to start off a fun night out. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly. The location couldn't be better. It's 5 minutes from Grafton Street and Temple Bar (while wearing heels, 3 minutes in flats!), so you can carry on to a pub or nightclub with ease. It is also open during the day when you can get one of the best lunches in town.

Brilliant place for a hen party. Good Fun - they give the hen a phallic-looking dessert. A party restaurant - there are better Italians in Dublin but if you want a jovial restaurant that won't break the budget and welcomes groups, this is the place to go.

Great food..especially love the garlic cheese potatoes... :) staff are very friendly and I can see it's 'pure' Italians as I was having trouble asking bout my desserts.. Despite that, really good place to go...

I go here all the time when I am eating out in Town, the atmosphere is great, the staff are very friendly and helpful and I have only ever had great food here which is why I go there all the time, I have introduced a few friends and family to Boccaccio's and they all love it too. I love when the staff sing, I usually only see them sing on the weekends but I was there on a Monday night a few weeks back and the place was that packed that they did their singing, it just adds a very nice touch to your evening. I can highly recommend Boccaccios.

I have been to Boccaccio's quite a few times and have never been disappointed, the staff make this restaurant what it is, the place could not be more Italian if it tried! The food is top notch and not too expensive...you can have a quality meal for 2 for less than €100. If you are lucky enough to be here when it is someone's birthday then you'll be in for a treat as the waiters (& owners) put on quite an entertaining show. Disappointed that they changed the menu a while back as the Faggotino di Pollo (Chicken stuffed with veal, wrapped in bacon with w/wine & mush sauce) was my favourite dish anywhere! In saying that though what they have left on is still well worth a try, great wine list too!

My favourite place in town, whether in a group or as a couple; I lived for years in Italy and have to say that Boccaccio brings it all back. Try leaving the food choice up to the chef, sit back and enjoy a fantastic meal, good wine, very reasonable price and all a stone's throw from Temple bar and Trinity, who could ask for more.

Fun, friendly and of course very Italian! This is your basic Italian fare at very reasonable prices. Great for groups on a cheap and cheerful night out. The singing waiters who seem to genuinely enjoy themselves do a great Happy Birthday and add a bonus to the night.
