We chose this restaurant for our office theyChristmas party because we're based in the city centre and having eaten in Toddy's bar we reckoned the food would be good. The price of €30 per head seemed reasonable too. Unfortunately we made a grave mistake. When we arrived in The Gallery there was a hospital type smell which was very unpleasant. The food took over 40 minutes to serve for only 30 of us, which that those first served had finished when the last ones were served. Some meals didn't arrive at all and when the staff were asked they had a puss on them and didn't apologise in the slightest. The same problem with the deserts. In the interest of fairness my festive turkey and ham was nice. When we finished we retired to Toddy's bar only to find that the 30 seats that we were assured would be kept for us on booking, were not. A rather rude and agitated bar manager said that it wasn't his fault and put some tables together. Simply not good enough, they couldn't have messed it up more if they tried. Shameful for any hotel, especially for one that espouses quality as part of it's mission statement.

I have eaten lunch in the gallery restaurant twice. Both times, I was totally dissatisfied and quite frankly still hungry! The staff are verging on incompetent. Quite grumpy in all honesty. The silver service, although a nice touch, is both slow and portioned out in tiny servings. I want more than one piece of broccoli with my expensive lunch thank you very much! The food itself is both pretty and tasty but that just didn't cut it for me.

Came here for afternoon tea with 2 friends on a Saturday avo after a bit of Christmas shopping. We got 2 afternoon teas between the 3 of us which was more than enough - we weren't able to finish it. There were sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, petite fours and a few different cakes. It was lovely and we had such a lovely friendly waitress. Really nice atmosphere and the Gresham is looking great. Highly recommended.

My last review was a bit too much. But i have to say something about this place. The food is overcooked and over sized. You'll get three times more than in the other restaurant for the normal price but the food is not good. The service seems to be lazy and doesn't care about the customers. Won't be coming back anymore.

For my lunch, I got so much overcooked starchy rice in my risotto it put me right off. 3 portions for the price of one? No garnish, just dolloped on the plate. Classy. Poor, unprofessional service. Our experience in The Gallery was an expensive joke.

I have twice visited here for the early bird meal and enjoyed myself on both occasions. The atmosphere was poor both times due to the dimly lit room and the lack of fellow diners. The service was only average and it could be quite hard to attract staff should you require something. However, the faults were covered over by the quality of the food and with the early bird, the meal was very reasonably priced. While I don't remember exactly what I ordered, I certainly still remember wanting more of it. The meals were not over garnished yet had a lingering, rich taste that had my table talking about how good the food was all night. My second visit was not quite as good as my first but was still enjoyable and I would certainly recommend people to try the early bird at The Gallery if they are looking for excellent food at very good rates. However, if ambiance and atmosphere is more your priority than perhaps you should look elsewhere.

Possibly one of the worst nights out I have ever had. Food was ok but the prices were high. The staff were pleasant enough but unless I was getting paid to come back I wouldn't bother.
