Visiting Swai a week before Christmas, I was surprised to find it empty although as it was 9.15, there might have been people there earlier. A couple arrived after a while so we were not on our own the whole time. However, the food was really good and the views are great from there so I would recommend it. We had the house combination for the starter which was a nice way to try a few of the starters. For mains we had beef rendang, clay pot duck and the saute king prawns. The beef and prawns were excellent. The duck was fine but suffered by comparison with the other mains. Even though it was quiet, I would recommend it for the excellent food, friendly service and great river views.

Arrived here on a Saturday night, hoping for a lively atmosphere but I was quite disappointed. Entering the restaurant at 8 o clock, I was expecting quite a busy crowd, only to see a couple being the only other people in the restaurant. However as the night progressed a few more people began to arrive along with a big group of people which the atmosphere slightly more lively. The food at Swai was quite nice. I dined with my parents and this turned out to be very good value for money. Swai had an excellent couples set menu which was great value for menu. So while my parents went for the 3 course couples set menu I opted for just a main course and we shared the starters. We ordered 2 portions of the chicken satay and were not disappointed. For the mains, I opted for the clay pot chicken, while my parents opted for the roast duck and chicken stir-fry... All mains were thoroughly enjoyed and portions were more than satisfactory. Desert arrived and we were more that full but it would have been rude not to sample some of the banana pancake with ice-cream and we were right. All in all, the food was great at Swai but lacking atmosphere.
