As a regular customer of Sheries, I do not think the food, service & quality could be faulted. I had the chicken wings to start today which were a generous portion with the steak sandwich to follow. Both were substantial portions and service was quick and easy so it's definitely worth a visit.

Spent a couple of bours in here with a friend before heading over to nearby Abbey theatre and enjoyed it alot. I had the spinach and mushroom pasta and my companion had the stirfry. Both were very tasty and good size portions. We both had pecan pie for dessert with tea and coffee which wasnt that impressive. Great atmosphere and service and really gald there is somewhere like this to eat on the northside city centre near to both theatres. Prices are a little steep but will return for location, service and menu choices.

I had a wonderful experience in Sheries Cafe Bar... I met a friend here for lunch as it was a haunt of ours when we studied nearby! It was fantastic... the food was tasty, the service was brilliant and the staff were so pleasant. I had my son with me who is 6 and can be a bit fussy, but nothing was a problem. Even his ice-cream was beautifully presented. I think this is one of the better spots in town & will definitely be back in the near future.

Came here with a friend for a Saturday morning breakfast. We were seated quickly but the waitress was not very pleasant which I then remembered was also my previous experience of this place. I had poached eggs on toast while my friend had a full breakfast. Staff were accomodating when I asked for brown bread instead. Found the place to be a little draughty but all in all a nice breakfast was had and I would return again.

Went here last night with my Dad as it was close to the Luas stop and it looked like a cheap and cheerful place. I was pleasantly suprised. I had a lovely glass of South African white, Dad went for the beer. Starter of buffalo wings was tasty if you only got 4!. Mains were lovely. I went for the mushroom and spinach penne which was very tasty, pasta cooked perfectly. Dad had the Thai Green Curry which was slightly spicy and very good. With a coffee to finish the bill came to a resonable 50 Euro. Service was fantastic, food came very quickly and staff were attentive and very friendly. I would recommend a visit here.

I work nearby and visit regularly for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is always good quality and I think reasonably priced. The only bad point is that the service varies from excellent and friendly (lunchtime, dinner) to downright miserable at breakfast time.

A miserable tuesday evening brought us here, two lovely glasses of spanish white to start while looking at the menu which is quite basic. we choose cajun prawns to start 5 prawns with a lovely salad and all went down hill after this. I had asked for my burger without a bun and thats what i got literally on the plate with a bowl of chips, the chips were fine but i have to say the worst burger I have eaten out and have to pay for and my guests steak sambo wasnt any better the thinist piece of meat in a chiabatta bread no sauce or garnish and the meat was so fatty and tough! We had a nice bottle of house red wine which brought the bill to E75 way to much. Would not be returning or suggesting that anyone should visit.

On a recent visit to the Abbey I decided to try here. I have to say I was impressed with this establishment. The service firstly was extremely pleasant and smiling. The food came exactly as it had been ordered and was very tasty and good in portion size. I opted for a Tomato soup and a personally designed sandwich whilst my companion had an all day breakfast. This is a bright and airy establishment in a prime city centre location. Given the lack of decent eateries in Dublin's north city centre Sheries does it for me and I will return there again.

Popped into Sheries before a gig in the 02. It's right beside the Luas so its' handy enough. I had the club sambo and chips and my sister had a chicken and bacon burger which wasn't exactly on the menu but they had no problem accommodating her. Safe to say we devoured it! Good tasty food and we were well looked after by the staff. It cost us less than 15 euro inc tip so happy days!

I went here on Thursday with my partner before going to a comedy gig. We didnt have too much time to eat so just pop in ans explained we only had 30 minutes to eat. The gentlman that served us was so helpful and our food came out so quick. The pasta was amazing and the chablis was devine. I would recommend to others.

Was there at that weekend and we decided to go to eat on the Sunday night. My cousin suggested us this restaurant and it did not disappoint, we had 3 platters for starters between 5 of us which was more than enough, the food was great. And my main course was amazing, nicest I have ever had. We had few bottles of wine to go with the meal which were lovely and look forward to coming back again.

This place is cheap and cheerful. The food is plain but wholesome. The service could be better, but when owner is around, he compensates with his charm. It is good value for money. Not for special occasions, but for everyday purposes, e.g. a quick meal before a show, a meal by yourself if you don't feel like cooking, lunch etc. Won't break the bank, and it's just the type of place we need in these recessionary times..

I have been here a few times for lunch and the food is always very tasty and for lunch time ther service is quick. The duck wrap in particular is lovely and comes with chips or salad so quite a large portion. The only negative about this place is the price, for the area and for what it is the food is overpriced however with a shortgage of decent places around they can get away with it. I will continue to return despite this downside.

Response:
If you find this place expensive, I don't know where you've been eating.

Had been meaning to try this place since it had been overhauled and finally made it in before the theatre last Friday. Nice warm cosy feel to the place. Between us we tried a burger and fish. Good filling food - nothing special but you couldn't expect gourmet food at these prices. Would go back as it's ideal before the theatre when you need something to eat that won't cost an arm and a leg but is better than going for fast food. Very nice staff.

I came here with a group of friends as we were going to the abbey that evening. It wasn't my choice - I'd been here before and didn't like it. the starters were nice and were all a decent size but the mains were all really overpriced. 14 euro for a steak baguette and horrible chips that tasted like they were cooked from frozen.

I was in town doing a bit of shopping over the weekend and on my way to the Luas I came across Sheries, I was absolutely knackered from the hard days shopping so decided to take a well deserved break! The food was pretty good and the staff couldnt have been nicer. Service was a little slow but its great value for money and I'd definitely recommend

I was working in the area and called in for a quick bite to eat at lunch time, the place was packed, but the food was delivered pretty quickly. I thought the menu had a great selection for lunch and the prices were reasonable, most things around the €10 mark. 3 of us all enjoyed what we had and will be back working on Harbour Court again in 2 week and will definietly be returning

I went there just for a small dessert on the way back home. The pie was too small as for the price of almost 7 euro. Coffe was week and i believe was warmed up as there was a tiny milk shell on the surface. I would never go there again to be honest.

went there for breakfast have to say that things have really gone bad in sheries considering a few years ago they made outstanding food. The four of us had breakfast the eggs looked liked they had been cooked in the microwave the portion of beans was horribly small, the mushrooms were burnt and the service was okay a little uncomfortable

Went here for the first time this evening with my wife and we were disappointed. We got bangers & mash, vegetable burger & chips, one cola and one tea. The vegetable burger was priced €12 but the burger was a cheap knock-off of a Birdseye Vegetable Quarter Pounder: very overpriced. It was served with deep-fried wedges rather than chips (other patrons got chips!) The sausages tasted like they'd been deep-fried too and there wasn't enough mash. The waiter who greeted us was friendly enough but after that the service was nothing special. I'd noticed this place from the Luas stop across the road for a while and its appearance really doesn't match the poor food and service within. Won't be coming back here in a rush.

I ate here for the first time on Monday and won't be returning. I had a chicken wrap with a side salad that had a tasteless indistinguishable dressing splatted on it. According to our server it was supposed to be a honey mustard dressing? It was white and like very runny mayo. For that privilege I paid €11.75. My mother had a Hawaiian panini with chips, it wasn't great but much better than mine and that cost €10.50 because of the bacon scare (it contained ham). 2 sandwiches and 2 soft drinks cost me €28, way too expensive for the bad quality and bad service.

Was here for the first time recently and found it very disappointing. It certainly doesn't offer value for money. the wrap I had was smothered in a sweet chili sauce like you'd buy in a supermarket and the chips tasted horrible like the oil was old - how can a restaurant not even produce decent chips?? I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, particularly when a wrap with a few chips and a coffee cost almost 15e.

I visited Sheries on a number of occasions over the past few years and I must say I have never left disappointed. Over the years they have got a revamp but I always find the food and service miles ahead of other cafes in Dublin. I have also found the staff to be great and very helpful especially when I have the kids with me. I must say I was quite shocked by the reviews below but as a genuine happy customer, this is my tuppence worth.

My boyfriend said this place used to be great, before it became flashy and bland it had apparently been an above average cafe. We used to come here for our Sunday fry, but not anymore. The staff became increasingly surly, when one waitress was rude to my mum it pretty much ended my affair with Sheries. The breakfasts were actually very tasty, but the quality just kept dropping, and the orange juice went from being served in a normal glass, to ending up being served in a tiny shot glass. Tight with bad service.

Dropped in here for a bite to eat while waiting for cinema. Have to say it was the worst experience in a restaurant in my life. Place was fairly lively when we arrived and we were ushered hurridley to a filthy table which was not cleaned until food arrived. Waiter was very impatient with my request for a moment to glance at the menu, apparently taking a moment to choose your food should be done before entering the cafe. We both ordered the vegetarian burger with chips, both burgers were overcooked and tasteless, chips were cold and reminded me of oven chips only not as nice. For €16, i could have made better myself. As i finished off what was edible on my plate, a waiter rudely removed my plate while i was still eating. I was actually in mid-mouthful when i had to tell him i was not finished. If that wasnt bad enough my friends drink was removed when she was not finished either. We did not stay for dessert and the cheeky waiters placed a tip bowl under my nose as i paid, which i found offensive. Needless to say i did not tip and will never return. I advise to stay well clear of this place

I went for lunch in this cafe with two girlfriends last year. Wow. Dreadful. 11 euro for a panini! And it was the most unexciting thing I have ever eaten. Service was fairly average; cafe was very busy with a really stressful office lunchtime atmosphere. None of us were impressed with our food and I can't believe this restaurant is actually still there. Rubbish.

Brutal. Brutal. Brutal. I remember this place from a few years ago before it got the makeover. If only the money had been spent on service & food, instead of flashy interiors. The fish & chips were fairly dreadful. The chips were clearly cooked in old oil and left under a hot lamp for a few hours. The fish was slimey and not fresh. The request for half-n-half (half potatoes, half chips) was brusqely turned down. The pork thing wrapped in bacon was gruesome. The accompanying "garden veg" was clearly from frozen and overcooked. The steak sandwich resembled an old boot in texture and taste, and went down the same way. We had to ask for a second Coke 3 times. And it wasn't even busy so they don't have that excuse. All in all we got hit for over €50, possibly the single worst meal I've had in Dublin at the price. Won't be going back there again this side of Redemption day.

Went here for lunch one day but should have left when I spotted that place was packed but only 3 people on floor. Service was abysmal, worst I have ever experienced I think. Managed to ask for a coke 3 times and I eventually got it half way through meal. Not cheap either with fish and chips at 18yoyo . Avoid

I visited Sherie's with a group of friends last year but the experience stands out as the most awful dining experience I've ever had. The surroundings are lovely - a bright fresh room with dark wood furniture - and the menu is quite extensive offering good value for money. I ordered a burger which was good, if unspectacular. Two of our group ordered the pasta with chicken and pesto, which looked terrible. The pasta was falling apart it was so overcooked and the entire dish was covered in a layer of oil. Obviously oiliness is to be expected in a pesto dish however this was so oily, the pesto was hardly detectable. In one sense, bad food is excusable, however the issue that made this visit stand out in my mind and what I consider inexcusable was the attitude of our waitress. One of our party politely asked if she could send back her pesto for the reasons outlined above. Our waitress, who I believe was one of the more senior members of waiting staff, argued that pesto is oily and asked my friend what exactly she was expecting. When the overcooked pasta was pointed out to her and my friend insisted that she couldn't eat it, our waitress snapped "Fine, I'll remove it from the bill, DARLING" and left. We were all quite shocked at the scene and immediately went to the counter to pay and get out of there as soon as we could. As we were leaving, our waitress returned, not to apologise as I initially thought, but to insist that she refers to everyone as "darling". Not being particularly interested in her vocabulary and still disgusted at her attitude, we left. I've been a waitress myself and realise it's a difficult job. Waiting staff often have to put up with difficult customers. I've never experienced the reverse though - a waitress being obnoxious to customers. Needless to say I won't be returning to Sherie's. If you're feeling brave and do venture in there don't order the chicken pesto and woe betide anyone who complains!
