I go way out of my way on my lunch break around once a month for a sushi treat from Kokoro. The food is absolutely gorgeous, if a little pricey, but you get what you pay for with sushi. The tempura prawn rolls and the seared salmon nigiri in particular are mouth watering. They also have an assortment of bento boxes made up. Service is always quick even though queues can be out the door, and there are plenty of condiments like soy sauce etc for about 10c each. I have never eaten from the hot menu but there is plenty there to choose from, and a small seating area if you choose to eat in.

Called into Kokoro for the first time. Was really suprised. Great value for some very tasty bento boxes including a free juice. Would like to go back to try out their big sushi selection.

Tasty Japanese take out. The chicken or Salmon teriyaki and the yakiniku are very nice and the sushi is good for the price.

Had the tofu fried rice dish from Kokoro the other day, I found the portions to be really large and good value for 4.95 with lovely miso soup thought the rice was good value for money it isn't the best japanese food going but it certainly is good value for money and the staff are very friendly

I used to visit Kokoro nearly daily for a long period. Most of the times I got a hot bento for eating there or takeaway. I think the food is generally quite healthy and tasty, and the price is not too bad. As most Japanese places I visited, the personnel is very polite and smiley. I'm not a customer any more. Some time ago they raised the price from 5.95 to 6.55 (about 10%). After a little while, they also reduced the size of the boxes where they serve the food. This is ripping off customers. Honestly, at this point I prefer another Japanese restaurant which is very close, for 3.50 euro more you get a proper meal and sitting at a proper table in a very cosy environment.

had a sushi lunch here today and was really impressed. The miso was lovely and the sushi was tasty and well-priced too. A few more seats would be handy though.

Very much a take out place. But great value. Free miso soup came with the sushi, which is always bonus. Portion sizes were decent and fresh.

I'm really happy this palce has opened because before I didnt really know of anywhere on the North side that did good takeaway sushi. Its great value and I often find myself picking something up on the way past.I would definately recommend trying it out - they have lots of varieties, it doesnt have to be fish!

Ironically this tiny sushi take-away has the best range of sushi in Dublin! There's certainly more options than the over-priced conveyor-belt suchi bars in the city. The only problem is where to eat it (although you can't help but notice the free seats in the Epicurian Food Hall across the street). There's squid sushi, eel, several varieties containing tuna, salmon, vegetables, etc. And it's pretty cheap. The only criticism are having to pay separately for essentials like chopsticks, ginger, and soya sauce, as well as having to get two packets of each choice. The staff are really nice.

I went there a few times and was disappointed. Sushis looks good but are often dry, not fresh. Seafood rice is also not really fresh, and seemed to me a weird combination, far from "japanese food". Noodles are OK. The service is relatively unfriendly and unflexible (sushis sold as a pair...).

Grabbed a quick lunch here- and very impressed by the bento lunch! €5.95 for a hot dish and two pieces of lovely sushi is good value in my book. Pity there is nowhere to sit, but I suppose that's how they keep the costs down. Well worth a visit when you're looking for something on the go!

They changed the menu here. It's now €6.95 and they've changed the sushi combinations. I got an Omega 3 salmon deluxe bento which came with a salad and a dipping sauce. Was a bit too much salmon for one lunch! I love the food here but think I'll be assembling my own sushi trays from now on as the salmon bento wasn't great.

I got a Chicken Teriyaki Temaki for lunch....it was difficult to get the temaki out of the plastic wrap.....it was only average sushi after all the effort and definitely over priced at €2.75. Not sure i'll be going back.

Really like the varied selection of sushi here.Handy to pick up and bring home. Haven't tried their hot food as I'm always happy to get a good selection of the reasonable sushi on offer. When in town next will try something else.

This place is like an 'on the go, sushi lover's' dream come true! I saw a place like this at Victoria station in London and I am so happy that Dublin has finally caught on to a cheaper approach to sushi! The prices are very affordable and you have so much to choose from! This will be my new place to get a quick bite to eat when I'm shopping in town, no more tiny portioned, over priced, week old store bought sushi!!! Oh and the customer service was the best I've received in quite some time! By the way, they only accept cash, so make sure you have some on you!

Nice to see an express sushi to go joint. There's a great selection of fish and veggie ones, and you get a bowl of miso soup with your bento. To be honest it's not as tasty as other sushi I've had (but paid more for) but it's still of a very good standard. The portions are quite generous for the variety packs. Otherwise you can pick and choose what you want. Staff are very welcoming and friendly too. There's a small counter if you want to eat in. I haven't tried the hot bento but it looks good - I will be back...

Very cheap sushi, and of higher quality than similar sushi-to-go bars. The make-your-own bento is a great idea. Staff was great - knowledgeable, and the only person I've ever met from Okinawa. Will definitely be back.

I've been to several places like this in London and have always thought Dublin needed a place like this. Sushi is way overpriced in restaurants here and even in many supermarkets, so it's nice to find somewhere where you can pick and choose your own sushi to fill your bento. It's not top quality sushi to be honest (which is what I guess you pay for in restaurants) but it's still very nice, healthy and fills you up. There's a good mix of fish, meat and vegetarian and the prices are great, often getting two large pieces (or 4 small pieces) for between €1.75 - €2.25. I managed to get about 12 pieces and a gorgeous carrot and ginger dip for €8.00 which I was quite impressed with. However I was shocked that one small piece of tofu sushi was €2.00 and had no offer on it, which is very discouraging to vegetarians/vegans like myself. They also have a hot counter which I have not tried. It looks like they have an interesting variety of warm food such as udon noodle dishes and fresh miso soup, but I came here at the end of the day and it didn't look so fresh so I only went for the sushi. I'll DEFINITELY pop back here again when in town and wanting a snack!

Nothing to rave about guys. We think it's a good deal cos we've been ripped off far too long in Dublin when it comes to Jap food. The food, although reasonably priced for today's times is no excuse for small portions. Sashimi slices are wafer thin, the bento boxes with sashimi are packed with fillers which are almost inedible such as white carrot with a few strands of edemame and sunflower seeds to save the dish.

i was ordered to "go there" by my enthusiastic japanese friend after he nearly exploded with excitment on entering kokoro sushi bento on liffey st... when in the neighbourhood i recalled his near comical description of this new sushi bar, when it caught my eye. It was 1pm and the place was jammed out the door with people eatin sushi on the street. There was nowhere else creating such a buzz on viewing the surrounding streets.Good sign, back in half hour.. Being a seafood lover all my life my mind was set at ease that we have access to a huge variety of seafood products in one shop in the city center..,seafood chowder with udon noodles and 2 pieces of salmon caviar for under 8euro?? shame on you over priced sushi joints!! by the way,if someone has a number for that Japanese girl that served me?? SHE ROCKS!!! THANKS KOKORO...

I'm not a fan of sushi, but when I saw this place on Menupages - both the review's and the adverts, it looked too nice to give it a miss. I was not dissapointed! I tried a few of the non adventureous sushi pieces, but had a curry from their hot dishes. It was fab and only a fiver. Perfect for dinner in these tough times!! I've passed on the name of the place to at least 10 people and they have all tried it and adored it. It would be nice to have somewhere to sit down, but the day I ate here was lovely so we went to the park. I will go again and continue to recommend the place. Well Done Kokoro Sushi Bento!!

I work around the corner from Kokoro and this has been a welcome surprise! Quick and healthy lunch choices in the area have been limited until now. Sushi here is fresh, healthy, and inexpensive. And there is a great selection to choose from. I pop in a few times a week

Fantastic!! What a gem! Finally a gourmet sushi take-away in Dublin. Having read a review on menupages I popped in here to sample it for myself on Monday last. I was totally amazed at the selection and the prices. There was such a fantastic array of fresh individually wrapped sushi that I had trouble deciding what I wanted. In the end I selected pretty much every tasty bite on offer. I also got a Tuna bento which came with a free yummy miso soup.....all I can say is delicious. Fresh tasty and cheap.....I'll definately be going back. Yum!

Fantastic Sushi! i was going to say Take Away Sushi at restaurant standard but its better. I got a take away yesterday and in fact over indulged a little! Its got everything here down to Salmon Caviar, which was a little too adventurous for me, but i enjoyed a bento box and a few other samples. The only thing it needs is somewhere to sit, they have a bar but no stools. If you like Sushi this is a must and its damn cheap too.
