Food was very good. We chose from Recommendations section. We decided to have Diced Fried Pork with Green Beans and Battered Prawns with Chilli. The prawns were lovely and fresh and the batter wasn't the usual gloopy stodge you usually receive in similar establishments. The pork dish was simple and flavoursome. Value was quite good. The two dishes, boiled rice, fried rice and two Budweisers which came in a can was roughly 35 euros. I'll try their wide selection of noodle dishes the next time I visit and I will definitely return. Service needs to sharpen up though. We were waiting to order too long and the place was only a quarter full. The waitress was too busy spray cleaning tables. Complimentary prawn crackers you receive after being seated weren't fresh. Took ages sorting out our simple bill also.

Love the roast duck cantonese style and chips and the lovely selection of hot teas. Also a good sized glass of wine. Good spot for an early dinner or a lunch special. Recommended!

This is our local Chinese restaurant and one we always return to for value and fresh food. The consistently served excellent seafood dishes which are full of flavour and the veg is always cooked to perfection and nice and crunchy. On our last visit we had chicken satay and tiger prawns for starters which was delicious. For mains I had the chef special minus beef which was really tasty and filling. My partner had the sweet and sour king prawns which were also very tasty. The portions are pretty big so there was no room for dessert. Staff are very friendly and attentive and are always welcoming even if we don't have a reservation. Their noodles are delicious and definitely one to try. I have been here many times and food is always consistent. One of my favourite restaurants on parnell street that offers good food at a good price.

I was suprised all the nice comments on the page as mine experience was terrifying. After my cusion raved about this place, he finally brought us to it. Together there were 5 adults and 2 kids, all Chinese. We had received the worse service in my life, staff were rude and we had to shout every time we need service or to get fed in general, food came very slow and soup noodles base were terrible. Noodles itself was good as they were handmade. Side dish were really yummy. Great for value as noodles were only €5 and big portion sides were €3. But I would never go back again as the service was absolutely appauling. Me and my mom almost left in the middle of the meal as the staff were so rude. She gave us a very rude look all the time and did not want to talk to us from the moment we step in. We had to ask for water, chopsticks and even to order... shocking! A great disapointment.

All the food were great! And the staff were so friendly to offer the great service. We had the dinner here maybe two times a week, and always not be disappointed. I told my friends everytime to come here for the really tranditional Chinese food, it was different from other Chinese restaurants. I would like to fully recommanded.

Having eaten here a few times I was looking forward to some reasonably cheap and tasty food, but unfortunately this was not to be. Our starters, spring rolls and BBQ spare ribs were horrible. The spring rolls were greasy and didn’t seem to have any discernable filling. The BBQ spare ribs were fatty and coated in an overpoweringly salty sauce with no BBQ taste at all. Our main courses were not much better; horrible, chewy prawns and some strangely jelly like beef in my Szechuan. I seem to remember the food being cheaper the last time I ate here and it was definitely of better quality. I doubt I’ll be returning.

Had a late dinner here last night we shared the starter platter which was nice although i didn't really enjoy the spring rolls as they weren't really packed that full of any filling and the prawn toast could have had more prawn! but the wontons and ribs were really nice I then had the crispy noodles with tofu and spring onion and ginger which was so tasty and it was a massive portion I had to get the lovely waitress to box most of it for me, My friend had a duck dish that he also couldn't finish, Charming noodles is really good value for money and the staff and food do not disappoint

Went there for the third time and happy as always. Delicious food. Even though not always able to communicate well with waitress in English, worth a try. Always generous portions of main course. Won ton soup I got as a starter could have a bit more won ton dumplings but as I said above main course made it up.

This is a great little restaurant. Excellent food at very good value for money. They have excellent lunch deals that simply won't be beaten. The food is really tasty and fresh and authentic Chinese cooking. This place is well worth a visit even just to try the noodles.

Was there so many weeks ago with my friends. It looks like a Chinese restaurant, but not really. Most of the food was in western style. This is unnormal in Pernell street I think. Choose another Chinese cuisine in Pernell street if you really want to eat Chinese food. Service is great and food not bad.

I have been to this restaurant many times and always have a nice meal but on this occasion I was not overly impressed, the starters were good but could have been hotter main course were not exceptional I thought it was quite expensive for the situation and decor or the restaurant and feel that there are so many early birds available in much nicer restaurant I wont be back for a long time..

I have eaten here many times and it never fails to disappoint . The food is always excellent, the portion size is well above adequate for any grown man! The early bird menus are cheap and they dont skimp on the portion size here either, for €7.99 I have often struggled to finsh the starter and main and you can also add a soft drink to this for €1, always a winner in my estimation. The food is also authentic and jsut as good as the over priced Wagamamas or Yamamouri I know they are not Chinese but Charming Noodles its on a par with them in my opinion. Cheap beer too, defo worth a visit.

I have eaten frequently in Charming Noodles and always enjoyed it. It has the atomosphere of a pleasant café/local restraurant. Sometimes I've really found the food excellent and other times, I've tried things that have not suited my tastes.Last time I had stuffed aubergine chow mein and it was great (seemed to have a lot of pork strips in it). My dining partner always enjoys the beef noodle soup and loves it - it is a thick noodle soup with quite fatty bits of beef with an aniseed-like flavour. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Really good value and worth going again and again.

it has been my all time favorite restaurant for noodles. I have tried many types of their soup noodle dishes and fried noodle dishes. they are deli-sh! Other dishes I would recommended are their BEER FISH, dumplings. meat sung. over all its really good value, food quality is always brilliant and staff are always friendly. definitely go back again and recommend to everyone.

This was a great find for myself and my boyfriend midweek. The whole fish with ginger and spring onion is just delicious, and so reasonablly priced. The noodles are just perfect. I ordered a side of these, which for €2 is more than enough as a substitute for rice. My boyfriend had chicken and black bean, not crazy about the chicken as it was bad quality, but it is an authentic chinese restaurant. I also had the seafood noodle soup, excellent. One bad thing, service can be slow, and the waitress asked if we wanted to tip on our card, thats just a pet hate of mine. I'll definitely return if in the area.

Having worked in mainland china the Charming Noodle with its genuine smells of chinese food rekindles fond memories for me of my time spent there. when the panfried dumplings and the salt and chilli squid are placed on the table and I close my eyes I am instantly transported to the small chinese restaurants that I frequented. The best part of the restaurant is the friendly staff, authentic food and value for money. It is the only chinese restaurant that I would recommend in Ireland if you want to experience the real deal. Remember to ask the staff for their recommendations or just look at the tables of chinese people eating near you and ask for the same. Definitely the best chinese in Ireland.

My partner and I went there for dinner on a Saturday night. We had heard it was a good place to eat.We had the half duck starter to share then we also shared a pork Szechuan dish and fried noodles.Which was more than enough for two people. The Tsingtao Chinese beer was lovely and cheap €3.00. Will definitely be going back again soon.

For me, this restaurant is a find. A standby for any evening where a good meal is required prior to a night's entertainment. On a street filled with choice, in what has fast become an area packed with similar restaurant types, the Charming Noodle is king. The food is excellent, and one almost forgets that rice exists among the pages of tasty noodle offerings. Do indulge (the Yuk Sung is particularly good!) though be aware the portions are designed for massive appetites. Charming Noodle... stay true to your roots!

Visited here off-the-cuff, just walked in from the road. Staff really friendly and attentive. Food average, really nothing special, and it wasn't particularly fantastic value for what we got either... the usual overly glutenous huge chinese portions. They did have gorgeous egg fried rice though, which isn't always a given. I wouldn't be against going back, and I'd definitely recommend if you are hungry and just want safe-average-food-in-huge-portions, but I think there are probably better Asian restaurants on this strip than this.

Watch that Braised Noodles Soup - it is all as it is cracked up to be. And be warned it is more than a soup. Great service and nice people. If you want to go for a good Chinese this is the place to go but do no expect lavish surroundings - who needs it ? It has a nice Chinese atmosphere

We went for an early evening meal here and had a very pleasant dinner. Prices are extremely reasonable, and the biggest problem I had was actually choosing from their huge menu. The food itself was pretty tasty, although my own wasn't as spicy as I'd have liked. However sampling some of their other food I did find it generally pretty good. The service was quite attentive, and we were even able to relax for a while after dinner without feeling we should leave.

Eventhough the staff are very friendly and helpful I'm afraid the food fell way short. To be honest the food was pretty disgusting. It would be considered pretty cheap price wise but if it means paying that bit extra to get food that actually taste nice I would pay. I would definitely not go to this restaurant again.

I come here often at lunchtime with workmates, and I love it. The staff are smiley and friendly, the food is very tasty, and the prices are extremely reasonable - 8 euro for a starter and a main, and drinks (e.g. Coke) are 1 euro.

Fantastic venue for a pre-movie bite! The lunch menu especially was fantastic value and the portions were massive. I had the chicken satay soup, by far one of the nicest lunches I've had in Dublin in a long time. You must try these soups if you're feeling the pain of the nationwide cold and flu season. Delicious food, great value, friendly service and a quaint atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon.

I love this place for quick and cheap food. The soup noodles are delicious as are the chow mein dishes. I love the soup noodles with seafood as you get lots of mussels, prawns, squid and crabstick. I also love the dumplings. If you want a nice ambient restaurant then this isn't the place for you but if you go for the food you won't be disappointed.

Ate here recently for the first time and I will go back - I can't believe I never tried it before. My friend and I had noodles - huge portion and yummy, and my other half had the duck which he wolfed down and said was lovely. It was so cheap - €70 for three mains, side dish and a bottle of vino!

The first of the 'genuine' chinese restaurants in Dublin I've visited and it was fantastic. The place was beautifully decorated for christmas and had a very cosy friendly feel. The menu is actually daunting and perhaps too big. For started we had a platter of the typical chinese take away snacks (won ton, bbq ribs etc) which tasted sevenfold nicer than usual. For main courses we had two MASSIVE extremely tasty noodle dishes which i think were only out 10 euro each. Outstanding value.

Charming noodles! Probably one of the best chiense I've had. Most of their noodles are really good, but somehow the rice dishes or okay. Their menu is cheap, but their lunch menu is even cheaper. Basically you pretty much get a side dish for free. Overall an awesome place if you're in for some good, and cheap chinese food!

I can't believe I havn't rated this place yet, as this is the place that I visit the most in Dublin ever since the opening of the restaurant. I've to say the standard of the food may have dropped abit since the opening, but nevertheless it's still good. Service can be improved. And you definitely get what you pay for. And more! They're famous for their noodles (hence the name), both soup and stir fried. Rice dishes are somehow not as top notched. If you go during lunchtime you can also get a set menu with delicious pork ribs or spring rolls of your choice. Overall it's a must try if you're in for any chinese, it's definitely more worthy of a try than those expensive chinese restaurants!

I liked this place, although i agree with the previous review, the food can be a bit greasy. But if you're after a quick and cheap bite to eat then you can't go wrong.

3s across the board. The atmosphere was nice enough, but the food was bland and greasy. I had the chicken chow mein & while it wasn't spicy (I don't like spicy food, i like flavorful food), it had no flavor other than the onions in it. maybe some of the other dishes would be better, but I'm not sure I'd go back to check.

Cheap and tasty food. Ideal for large groups dining together. Five of us ate here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy and bustling, and a table was fixed up swiftly. We ordered a selection of six dishes to share, and a round of cobra beers. The food was tasty and portions large. I would recommend trying some of the more unusual dishes on the menu, to get a more authentic taste of what is on offer. The menu is huge, and there is so much to choose from. The bill came to just over 20 euro a head.

Being Asian myself, I have to say the food there was disappointing compared with it's counterpart neighbour restaurants. Although a wide variety of dishes, they all taste a little similar and a little too much MSG added in the food. Artificial tastiness. I'm always left with a thirst after the meal. I think the ambiance is a little nicer than the others along the street but it certainly also costs more for what I think isn't better food. I'm not going back anytime soon.

Love the variety of noodles selection on the menu. I had the pork chop noodle soup and my hubby had the dan dan noodle (mince pork with sauce). I would recommend that it is better not to choose the cheapest noodle in the menu as based on the noodle we have ordered, I think the pork chop noodle is far worth the value than the dan dan noodle. I will still go back to try other noodle. Have been craving for it since last week.

Myself and my boyfriend had a very nice time here. There's very little wrong with the place. The menu is a staggering pages long so you could never be left short for choice. The atmosphere is nice and while the place is a little small you don't get the feeling that you're in any way squashed in. The service was a little slow, and slightly ill timed, there could be a few minutes between people receiving dishes but the waitresses were very pleasant. All in all definitely worth a visit for a cheap but still quality dining experience.

I agree with the previous reviewer-I was expecting something great based on the reviews here. Instead it was very average. The chicken was not of great quality, my friend was very disappointed in her szcheuan (sp?) sauce as it was not at all spicey. I ordered prawns with cashew nuts, the prawns were big and plentiful but the sauce was completely flavourless and too thick. The menu is long and confusing with many dishes that sound similar but with no additional explanation as to how they differ. Also, it bugs me when Asian people receive a different menu-are they offering different food to people with more of a clue? I see this practise in many cheaper asian restaurants and I feel like it alienates their Irish customers-why not have 1 menu with English and Chinese translations? Anyway, this place is very average, I wont be back.

I don't get it. It must be a trendy place to get all these great reviews while being just a below average Chinese restaurant. There is no Thai (except a horrible curry that only has the name), nor "Asian fusion", it's Chinese and it's noodles, and it's not good. I could understand the basic cheap environment could be ignored if the food happened to be great, but no, there is nothing to save that place. I tried the "Yuk Sung for 2" that reviews go on about, and it's greasy, tasteless, and it had hard uncooked noodles in it... The local Chinese restaurant in Bray is amazing compare to that.

Influenced by the many good reviews for Charming Noodles, we went there for dinner last Saturday. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff and shown to our table. Starters were yuk sung for 2 which was both plentiful and tasty followed by sizzling chicken satay for me and a seafood noodle dish for husband. Both dishes were very generous and tasty in the extreme and perfectly cooked. Great value for money, and the efficient service could not be faulted. In an area quite densely populated with Chinese restaurants, Charming Noodles appears to be a very popular choice. We left a fairly full restaurant around 11pm and passing by several restaurants nearby, we noticed that they were practically empty! We most certainly will be back.

Great place to go for great food. Very good value for money...each portion of rice/noodle can easily fill 2 persons. The menu looks really appetising just from reading it. Have been back a few times trying different dishes and was not disappointed each time. The service is basic but doesn't really matter to us.

Great food at great value. The restaurant has a nice ambient when compared to some others in the area. Went with my husband and we ordered a Platter for 2 (starters) and a bowl of soup each. I had seafood noodle soup which was truly delicious (except the one big prawn is NOT fresh or actually bad!). As most others say, their serving is SO SO big. For the first time, my husband couldn't finish his food. Will definitely come back here again and will bring FRIENDS! And it is cheap too!

This is a fabulous chinese noodle restaurant. People often rave about the chinese restaurants around parnell street, but sometimes they are not exactly all as good as the hype might suggest. Charming Noodles is great however, both in terms of value and in the quality of the food they serve. The bowls of noodles are huge and deeply flavoured. The beef noodles come with meat that has obviously been simmered for a long time and for maximum depth of flavour (likely oxtail or shin beef). You can get these on the lunch menu with a choice of starter (including massively meaty ribs) for 7.99!! Top notch.

Good selection of noodles & rice . Price is also very cheap for the huge portion. The place is a bit crowded and deco simple but would not mind going back for the food!

Love it. Parnell street is full of brilliant places to eat. This is one of them and one I have been to before and will go to again. Food always tastes great and is such good value. The look may put you off as it can be a bit bright and not look very comfortable but do not let this stop you going in as it is a really nice place to eat. For two people with two separate starters, two mains and two cokes it came to 35e with tip. Eat here people.

I came here alone for lunch one day and had a set menu of spare ribs and vegetable soup noodles for less than €8. Really substantial portions (was struggling to fit any dinner in later) and pretty good quality- the soup noodles were authentic and healthy, the spare ribs were huge, and meaty. I've lived in Hong Kong most of my life so it was great to find a place than can successfully satisfy my noodle cravings, if what temporarily. Good pleasant service too, recommended.

This is a great little place in the best area in Dublin for Chinese food. Great lunch menu, which is available well into the afternoon. For around €9 for a starter & main course it can't be beaten for value. Also staff are very helpful and friendly. They have a varied menu, which suits both Asian, and western taste buds. A good meal for 2 shouldn't set you back any more than €40. Great food, service and value. 5 star all the way!

Great little restaurant situated in the heart of Dublin's Chinatown. Food is very fresh tasting and very authentic. Always a good sign when Asians eat there too. Fantastic selection of dishes, something for everybody really and the prices are very good, maybe slightly more expensive then other restaurants in the area though. Portions were huge when we visited too, would have ordered more if there was any room left. Will be back again.

I brought four kids to Charming Noodles last night, where we tasted authentic Chinese food, in a friendly environment, and all for 60 euro! Our waitress informed us they have been there for 3 three years, and looking around the restaurant it was full of Asians (always a good sign in an Asian restaurant) and Irish who have discovered Dublin's Chinatown. If like me you have an aversion to bog standard overpriced Chinese restaurants, get on your rickshaw and get down to Parnell Street.

Charming discovery! Wide selection of noodles (from fat u-dong to skinny glass noodles) prepared in various ways, costing on average €8.50 per bowl/plate. Menu also includes other meat, poultry, fish, and vegetable dishes. Good quality food, friendly service, reasonable price, and clean, comfortable eating environment. Would definitely recommend!
