We decided to try Café Manila last Thursday for an after work dinner. The restaurant wasn’t busy and the waiters were fairly easygoing and friendly. The decor is bright and airy, and candles were lit at our table, which made the atmosphere a bit cosier. We ordered olives while we were waiting for food to arrive, starters were samosas for me and spring rolls for my partner, they tasted good not very spicy and were presented well with a little bowl of tomato/ sweet chilli ? sauce. Theres quite an extensive menu, and we managed to find a few choices for vegetarians, I had pumpkin stirfry, and my companion had tofu & vegetable curry, the mains were presented well with a portion of rice on the side.I prefered the taste of the curry to the pumpkin stirfry, and would order that next time.We ordered 1 dessert and 2 coffees,2 glasses of wine and 2 bottles of beer. The bill was 60 euro, I think this is a nice restaurant, with friendly staff, decent portions, and is a another great addition to the Abbey st. area if you were looking for dinner before going to the cinema or theatre etc.

Cafe Manila is one of the best value places in town. Its lunch menu consists of a buffet. While they don't have a huge range of choices the food is flavoursome and tastes freshly cooked. Last Tuesday was no exception. My partner and I had the lunch buffet. Delicious soup followed by fried rice with a vegetable stew and port stir-fry (I don't remember the names of the dishes but everything was delicious). The service was very friendly and as we have been there quite a few times they offered us free dessert. I don't recall having ever received such friendly service in a buffet style restaurant. This is a place I will visit again and again.

Cafe Manila is a great place for tasty food before the theatre or cinema. The cafe is bright and cheerful, but it's not the sort of place to spend an evening. The service is very friendly and prompt, and as you can see all the food being prepared in the kitchen, there is good honesty in the food.I haven't eaten in many filipino restaurants, but to my taste buds this is very authentic food at a very reasonable price.Deep fried gambas starter, sizzling plate of prawns maincourse, and a traditional dessert, all washed down with two quarter bottles of wine for under 40 euro, and I was out within an hour.Impressive.

The food here was lovely and the atmosphere was welcoming. Service was amazing and the waiters were friendly. Dinner for two came to 38 euro which was very reasonable. It was very good value and I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family

Was there for lunch buffet with a friend. We were both very satisfied with this place. Food was very fresh and flavorful. We are planning to return next week. One good sign is that most of the patrons were Filipinos. I definitely believe this is good value..

We were in town later than we expected, and seeing someone wheel a buggie into this place we decided to do likewise... They had 3 high chairs inside the door, but we were directed to a table with a high chair already... they also looked after heating the baby's food... The food was fantastic and we were worried by the cold draught being near the door but a waiter turned a heater on when he noticed...

Visited this place with a friend on a Wednesday evening. I had a tofu and stir fry vegetable dish which was nice (but not fabulous) and my friend had a beef stir fry dish, which was also only OK. She tried a chocolate gateau for dessert and it was pretty awful. The food is very reasonably priced, and the service was good - our waitress was very friendly. But I wasn't overwhelmed, and wouldn't rush back.

Was very disappointed with this place. I had a noodle dish which was bland and very greasy and my old man had a whole fried fish(grouper fish on the menu) which was overcooked and nearly completely tasteless. The service was poor and the wwhole thing was way overpriced. Will not be going back.

A nice place to try something a bit different. Food was tasty enough and not too expensive. Lots of random offal choices on the menu, as well as pig knuckles!

went for lunch after hearing good review by a friend. however we weren't overly impressed. It's like a cafe with simple interior decoration but the we felt the price is a bit way up for a cafe. The service wasn't great as we have to signal the waiter few times before he came over. we were waiting for a while for order to be taken. No complaints about food though as they tasted nice/standard. would consider going back but won't be back in a hurry.

Went here for a quick dinner with my sister on Sunday. Place was empty, and all the chefs were sitting down having a chat. Service wasnt that great, dont really think the waiter wanted us to be there. He didnt check on us once. My sister had the BBQ chicken which was very tasty. I had the sizzling prawns which were sizzling and very tasty, only 5 though unfortunately. With a glass of wine the bill was €36 which I thought was a bit steep.Im sure around that area there are places that are better value for your money.

does have a genuine feel to it. The menu lets you pick something exotic or maybe more familiar ( but delicious) noodle dishes. Good value for money although I had an unpronounceable shake at the end which really tasted sickly sweet..

We will admit we looked in the window over 20 times and it took reading a review to finally convince us to go in for dinner, and so glad we did! We have been in several times and the food is amazing and the service is excellent, real friendly and always willing to help you pick a dish, there all things you have never heard of. The pork bun can not be missed , I also would highly recommend the fiesta meals if you are a bit unsure of philipino cuisine sort of a mixed plate. reasonable prices too!

Had lunch there yesterday, thought that the food was nice, I particularly liked serving clay bowls and the serving spoon which added to the experience. The food wasn't very hot though and the place lacked a bit of atmosphere. Will probably return but not in a hurry

Went there for lunch my second time today. As the other posters have said taste wise I can't fault the food and the staff are friendly enough. Cost wise it is a little over priced for what you get in my opinion. I had beef stew with the fried rice and I have no complaints. I'd recommend it for lunch if you wanted a change from your usual haunts but I wouldn't be in a hurry back.

Went here for lunch with my husband. It was a little bit pricey but the food was delicious. We had Pork Steak with Fried Rice, Goto (soup), Pancit Malabon, Mango cake, Marble Mamon and Mango juice for 30 euro. Service was good and the place was clean. We'll go back and try the other dishes that they have.

Ate here yesterday. It's a buffet style service where you choose your food as you move along. Had pork and liver noodles, spicy pork and rice and veg and halo halo for dessert. Total price was 17.00€, little bit steep in the pricing for the amount of food. They had a lot of Filipino music playing but not a good atmosphere. It's painted bright pink and purple. Not many people in there for a lunch time. A few Irish mingling with the Filipinos.

This is a new kid on the block! Business is definitely flourishing well as it boasts in serving authentic Filipino food. Though catchy in appearance from the outside, this restaurant is more for a quick meal as its buffet style where by most mains are under e10. They are quite substantial as they are usually served with rice and have various types of soups which pique the tastebuds. To end the meal, there's a selection of desserts (ice shaven) to choose from.Though it may look rather foreign it's all about the taste wise it cant be faulted much..
