I went here a couple of months ago with my nephew who is 10yrs old. We ordered the Korean dumplings which were delicious & a must have if you go there. We were going to go for the barbecue which they have on each of the tables but did not have the time. We did see others opt for this & it looked great fun. We got mammoth portions of food & ended up bringing a doggie bag with us afterwards. I will come here again.

Not the place for a romantic evening but excellent value for money (rare in Dublin these days). The food is very good, with huge portions. I had the seabass - and for €12.50 for the whole fish thats fantastic. A good place to go if you just want a good big plate of food and not spend the earth.

Some of the reviews on here are hilarious! This is NOT a Korean restaurant! Its a chinese that happens to serve a handful of korean dishes. The only thing I cant argue with is the portions, yes they were huge but thats about it. Had that terrible MSG feeling the day after eating there too. This is a cheap and cheerful chinese restaurant that happens to have a few korean dishes on the menu. Theres a bit of a novelty factor for the cooking on the table but thats as far as it goes for me. I would not go back. For the same money you could do a lot better in more central parts of town in my honest opinion.

Awesome place, I've been here a number of times, came for the barbeque/novelty, stayed for the dumplings. The bbq as others have explained you cook at the table yourself on a big curved hotplate, great for three or four people with a few beers and "Korean white spirt" which is quite drinkable and not the paint stripper I was expecting. As for those dumplings, twenty for five euro and by gum you'll have trouble eating all twenty, though you'll want to... I recommend the pork, prawn and cabbage/lettuce ones. As was also stated the decor is horrendous but who cares, personally I like a loud, rambunctious and gaudy chinese restaurant.

The restaurant decor is pretty bare but the main courses make up for the sparse interior! I had a tofu dish and my boyfriend had beef. The portions were huge and the food was amazing! I really felt like I was eating authentic asian food. Prices are excellent too!

These do an excellent lunch special for €8. You can get a starter ( recommend the crispy chicken- to die for), main course and a can of soft drink. This is available before 4 and is delicous. Best value around and the staff are always very friendly and efficent.

Tasty whole sea bass with spring onions and soy sauce for €12.80 - its hard to go wrong! I've been here a couple of times and the dishes I've had have been good though not outstanding. Decor and atmosphere are basic and I wish they'd turn off the TV, but the loos are clean (not the case with all restaurants in this area). A good option for cheap midweek eats.

Didn't really enjoy our meal here. The deco was basic (fine with us) but the service was bad. The waiter was watching TV at the front. He had to be reminded several times that we have asked for spoons, and same when we asked for bill. Waited long for the food though there were only few customers. Food was ok. Don't think we will be back.

I love Korean food and this restaurant is a great place to come for a good meal. The choice available is extensive ranging from Korean sushi to BBQs as well as rice and noodle dishes. I love the BBQ dishes which the staff will leave you to cook yourself. The broths are also nice, but I don't find them as flavoursome as the BBQs. It can be very busy, so sometimes it can take a few minutes to get staff attention but they are always polite and willing to help. Great experience and great food at good prices.

Had dinner here last Friday and, although the service was good and the staff was friendly enough, I have to say I was not exactly impressed by the food. The prawn crackers were very greasy and cold and no sauce of any kind was provided with them. The king prawn dumplings were actually very tasty. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the Rorean rice my boyfriend ordered or the sizzling lamb dish I chose. On top of that the plates used to serve the main courses were definitely too small for the amount of food they contained and that made it really hard to eat without spilling half of the food.

18/09/07 I have eaten at this restaurant before, in between shows at the Gate Theatre, where a lot of the actors have discovered this little gem. Admittedly, it's not on the prettiest or safest street in Dublin, and the decor is basic, but the food and the friendly service soon make up for the less than salubrious environment. We dined post show last night, starting out with two people, ordering a Korean barbecue and a sizzling lamb dish. The sizzling lamb was delicious, but the novelty and fun of the barbecue soon took over, and we shared the task of cooking wafer thin slices of beef and potato, and spiced leaves, on a gas ring heated barbecue in the centre of the table. We were joined by six others, who ordered various starters, all of which were pronounced delicious. We were eating very late (we arrived at 11.30 p.m.) but we were told they stay open until 3 a.m. - a real find for Dublin City centre, where your only hope after midnight is usually a kebab...the wine list is cheap and cheerful, with no real plonk, but no great bottles either - but their mark-up on wine is so low, you'd forgive a lot. I'll definitely be eating here again...

I was introduced to this restaurant by a Chinese friend of mine and honestly would never have known of it, as I would not normally consider Parnell Street as a place to eat. The cuisine here is excellent and far superior to any other Chinese restaurant I have been to in Dublin. Value for money is also excellent. I would agree with others that service needs to improve if they want to attract more Irish customers. I have been here about five times and will return again without any doubt.

We go here regularly with some Chinese friends for Karaoke. You can get a private room for your group with a huge selection of songs to choose from and an extensive food menu. Portions are huge and very reasonably priced. Also, wine and the wonderful Tsing Tao beer are cheap! The food is delicious and the service is excellent!

Excellent value and great Korean food. Asked a friend who lived in Korea for 2 years to recommend what we should eat. All excellent choices. The plum wine we had was fantastic and we have vowed to return just for it! Not a lot of atmosphere but the staff are very friendly. Recommend this place highly.

My boyfriend and I recently dined here the recommendation of friends. We turned up on spec and were seated quickly by a friendly waitress despite it being a busy Friday night. The atmosphere was great and the menu extensive. We opted for selection of starters followed by the Korean B-B-Q, rice, vegetable noodles and a side of vegetables. We were brought large plates of chicken and beef and set about cooking them ourselves, which while initially fun turned into a chore! The portions were so big that we asked for the noodles to be packed to take-away and the staff were more than happy to oblige. We had one beer, one coke and a drinkable bottle of red wine and the total bill came to a very reasonable €62.00. It is a fun restaurant with tasty, good value food. Next time however, I shall let the chefs do the cooking!

Went here with a large group for a birthday for a meal and karaoke, and got a private room at the back. Had an excellent night. The food is very good (as is the food in most Chinese restaurants on Parnell Street)

Great Service and value - The people make you feel at home. Very good service. Good variety on the menu - something for everyone. This restaurant has a good feel of far eastern food.

Hated this restaurant! The service was efficient but unfriendly. The food was fine and yes it was cheap but I certainly didn't want to linger! If all you want is a quick plate of food in unpleasant surroundings with rude service, this is the place for you!

Decent food, zero atmosphere, and abysmal service - that was my experience at this downmarket Korean/Chinese restaurant. It's cheap, which doesn't necessarily mean it's great value - you get what you pay for, which isn't a lot. There's a Korean 'barbecue' option where you cook your own food. Personally if I'm paying to eat out I want my food cooked for me, but the barbecue is very popular - which unfortunately means you'll go home with your clothes stinking of cooking oil and your eyes stinging, no matter where you sit in the restaurant. And there's a TV playing in the corner - enough said.

Good food, Pretty Good value for money, Fun atmosphere, Shocking service...I've been here 3/4 times. Great place for a group of friends for cheap and cheerful evening. The biggest problem is the service, you'll be left waiting too long at some stage in your meal and twice now I've been served something I didn't order...but I keep going back so it must be worth it...

Great Ethnic Restaurant I have been to Alilang many times as it is a great place for really good food at great prices, if you don’t mind it being a little bit rough rounds the edges. Last Saturday I went along after the Irish game in Croke Park and it was the best it has ever been. Three of us, the other two had never been before, order varied starters, side and mains courses from the massive selection on the menu and none disappointed. Particularly good was the beef in a nest. With a Tsing-Tso beer thrown in, this feast came to 25 euro, which must be the best value in the city. Some people may be a bit daunted by the Parnell St location, or the fact that there is a TV in the corner showing the news from some location in the East, but it is well worth the detour.

While the service, etc was good, there was a hair in my food. From experience, there's no impact from providing feedback directly, so hopefully this rating has a better effect.

Very good combination of Korean and Chinese cuisine. The food was delicious, the atmosphere excellent, just the service was a bit slow. It was good value of money with wide variety of choice on the menu. Great restaurant.

Alilang is a wonderful restaurant, where you're always made to feel welcome. The portions are generous, and the menu varied. They have a good selection of wines, and since the menu was updated with desserts, there is nothing lacking in this restaurant.
