I have been there on numerous occasions, and I have to say its just a great experience. The food is very taste and their menu ranges from seafood to uncommon meat dishes. I never had food there I did not like. However the last time I asked to change the mashed potatoe to rice which I had to pay extra then :( and I asked to get the food without cheese, the cook forgot and I coud not eat until 15 minutes later when I got a new dish. Can happen I was just disappointet that I still had to pay for my rice as a extra, would have found it nice if I had gotten it for free. Beside that the service can be a bit harsh but its a lovely experience especially at the weekends when they have live singers. Also they have a nice vodka and cocktail range.

The decor here is just great! Nautical theme everywhere. Three of us went after work - food a little bit different - but in a good way. The portions were big. Unfortunately they didn't have the chicken skewer so I had to have pork instead, however it was very good. My colleagues had wild boar and duck. We all thought the food was good. They had a special offer that if you buy a starter and main then you can have a cocktail or glass of wine or dessert free. The waitress didn't point this out to us, we just happened to see a flyer about it on another table. It's a pity they don't do an early bird menu, but I would go there again. It serainly is different.

Went for dinner at Admiral with friends. Food was delicious for starters (sups and some traditional Russian snacks.) Mains (pork barbeque)wasn't that tasty as it was expected, but food presentation was excellent. Probably if it was served with a mash potato - I would like more than I did with rice. Deserts was yumm. The staff are very nice and the service was great

We have been here numerous times, the most recent being New Years Eve. On all of these visits, we found the atmosphere to be very welcoming and inviting, and promoting inclusion in all events. The food is always very varied, and no matter what you order it is of excellent quality. The service however, can sometimes be a little sub-par, due to the restaurant being understaffed. The people who ARE on the floor however, do their best, considering the pressure they must be under, to cater for the customers they have. As for value, the lunch menu has to be unbeatable in Dublin, considering what you get and the quality of same. Evening menu, while excellent, is a little pricey for the average diner, but like in everything else in life......you get what you pay for.

Went to the Admiral for lunch today got the value lunch menu which is definitely good value for the portions you get i had the pork with mozzerella and mushrooms it had a sneaky layer of mayo lurking underneath it which i didn't enjoy, but my boyfriend really liked his one even though it wasn't what he ordered the food took a long time to come for an almost empty restuarant, We got lovely rye bread with nice butter and garlic which was really nice I think it was more my personal taste that made me not enjoy it as much because i do think it's good value and the portions are huge I would go back to try something else out of curiousity but only because it is so cheap, I would recomment it to men who like large portions and large cuts of meat

Decided to tray out this restaurant based on the reviews and because I'm a fan of Western European food. I must say it was a huge let down. We had the Borsch soup and the spinach, prawn and red caviar for starters which were pretty good. However, for main I ordered Dumplings with cream potato and bacon filling and got a potato pancake with bacon instead. When I asked about it I was assured that that's what Traditional Ukrainian homemade dumplings look like. I know perfectly they do not and what I got was in fact a traditional western European potato pancake. I did not like the fact that the waiter would not admit to his mistake. The food was pretty ordinary therefore I do not understand the high prices. I will not be going back there again.

We went to Admiral for our Xmas dinner - and it was a very good choice. Everybody was pleased with the set menu, blissfully different from the traditionnal ham/turkey/soup type of dinner you can usually get. The karaoke was a nice touch, although as clients were on the shy side the restaurant's entertainers had to sing themselves - a little tiring after 3 hours. Overall would recommend it, the nautical theme is kitch but very original.

We popped into the Admiral based on the reviews here on Menupages. Unfortunately the great lunch offer is only available on weekdays so we had to order from the quite pricey main menu. The place itself was very quiet so extending it to the weekend couldn't hurt in bringing in the punters. Himself's prawn & saffron risotto was delicious and served in a really tasty parmesan crisp basket. My spaghetti with smoked ham was tasty but quite heavy and I had to leave some behind, a rare thing for me! Service was very friendly but pretty slow with a 45 minute wait for our food, not great when the restaurant was as quiet as it was.

I had been here for lunch when it first opened and found it too expensive, I saw their lunch offer on menupages last week so decided to give this place another go. I am really glad I did, the food was really nice and great value, I will definetely be making this a regular lunchtime spot. The interior is really novel and the staff are lovely.

It is definitely one of the best restaurants in city centre. Went there with my friends on last Friday evening. Fabulous service and such a good menu to chose from. I had pan-fried Mussels and grilled Seabream with Saffron Risotto and it was delicious. We also had live band singing retro hits from ABBA and others. A bit expensive considering recession times but the waiter told that they are currently working on lunch and dinner specials, definitely will be back.

This is definetly a restaurant with potential! This restaurant is really new - I remember passing by when they are still working on the interior and you can still smell a little bit the paint. Cuisine is Western with focus on Russian/Eastern Europe. The idea of the Maritime theme of the restaurant is great and well implemented (but a location in Howth, the Docklands or Dun Laoghaire would be more suitable). Food was fine. As a starter we had Olivie Salad and Holodec. Main course was grilled Salmon Fillet & Pepper Steak. Regarding the Steak I wasn't asked how I wanted to have it and I have forgot as well to mention it. Therefore I have received it medium (and I definetly like it well done). So a small minus here for not asking. Nethertheless the Steak was ok although I had it somewhere else better. Accompanied was our meal by a bottle of splendid Georgian White Wine (Alazani Valley)!!!! As dessert we had Tiramisu and Ice cream. Service was attentive and nice. We arrived there around 21.30 and it also took a while till we made our decision. Felt a little bit under time pressure set by the waiter and around 22 we were asked if we want some dessert as welll as the kitchen was going to be closed. Am glad that they asked as I know other places where the kitchen is simply closed and if you want then to order dessert you have bad luck. Were told that on Saturdays there is live music.Furthermore there are 2 TV screens where a Russian Music TV station was playing with the tone switched off (Music came out of a CD player I believe and was as Western as the menu.) Minus regarding the TV - after 23 o'clock the station had advertisements for Adult phone hotlines. A little bit disturbing if you are there with family late or on a date. We left there at shortly before midnight and I assume that normally the restaurant closes at around 23. So thanks for being patient with us :-) Negative as well: Way too pricey!
