Irish people love to eat seafood when dining out; in fact, unlike our European neighbours, we eat more seafood outside the home. Perhaps this is a testament to the quality of our seafood restaurants. And for many visitors, a trip to Ireland wouldn’t be complete without sampling a few oysters and sinking a pint of the black stuff. Fantastic restaurant with great atmosphere with your dinner/ night out being an experience rather than just food! Been here with my wife a good few times now and always had great nights.

Due to food allergies I find eating out can be a very nervous ordeal for me. However once I alerted the waitress to my egg and nut allergies she responded proffessionally and without hesitation. She discussed it with the chef and then informed me of which dishes were suitable. Overall my experience was so enjoyable and I will be back shortly for more! My concerns were handled so well which is more than I can say for other restaurants I encountered in the past in my local area.

Our whole experience was fabulous from the moment we entered the restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the wine was excellent and the food was really great. I felt there was a little bit too much lemon in my seabass dish but in the grand scheme of things, that is just me being very picky!! We are so lucky to have this restaurant in our locality and we will definitely be back!

Amazing since they have moved premises in May. The first time I visited this place in the old premises I was not impressed as it was so cold in the restaurant and the food was just ok. However since there move to Justice Walsh road I can not believe the transformation in everything from the atmosphere to the staff to the amazing food. I have been to the new place 5 times since it moved and can only say I am waiting hard for a reason to go back. I have a very sweet tooth and love the fact that they make all there own deserts( I have seen them) which is great and they are delicious. Its a real treat and with the very reasonable prices and really good food I cant think on anywhere else i would rather go in Donegal.

I had heard a lot of positive comments from friends and family on La Fantasia so I was very much looking forward to my first visit. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. I cannot understand why people claim this place has a real Italian atmosphere. I don't mind it being in an industrial park but a few posters of 'Roman Holiday' do not make a place Italian. The food was pedestrian at best - I am gluten-intolerant and as this was pointed out initially I was told about the gluten-free pizzas and other options. As it turned out, they had run out of these (not made fresh, one assumes). Going for the goat's cheese starter and a spicy risotto, these were both underwhelming. The cheese was not wrapped in Parma ham as advertised - a rather sorry slither was placed on top instead. Nothing offered instead of the home-baked bread when requested - in fact, the server was frosty rather than friendly. The risotto was spiced but it didn't taste of anything in particular. I certainly won't be rushing back.
