4.5After the drive from Dublin to Dunfanaghy, I needed comfort food in a cosy environment. Arnolds has long been a favourite and didn't disappoint.
It being "pre-season", we easily found a table amongst the other tourists in the Whiskey-Fly Bar. My companion had travelled the previous day and wasn't overly hungry but he enjoyed a bowl of seafood chowder which looked, smelled and was proclaimed delicious. Decent homemade brown bread made for an ideal accompaniment, but was a little on the dry side.
I went for the wholetail Scampi, served with Marie-Rose sauce, chips and salad. Yes, as I said - comfort food; well executed, very tasty and piping hot. It hit the spot.
Our waiter and waitress gave the excellent, friendly service we've come to expect from Arnolds.
