I LOVE this restaurant! I have eaten here twice in the last month. The main menu is a bit pricey for me but the early bird is fantastic value. The food has always been superb. On both occasions a wide variety of dishes were ordered - steak, hake, monkfish, risotto, chicken, pigeon-and all were excellent. The staff are incredibly nice and the restaurant itself is a very ncie room. I would definitely recommend Toddies

I wouldn't shell out for a place like Toddies very often but myself and my husband decided to treat ourselves and we found the whole experience to be excellent. We were seated on a heated terrace, and it being a warm Summers evening, it was hard to believe we were in Ireland. It definitely stood up to any high-end European restaurants we've visited. The staff were friendly and efficient, the service quick (although not so quick as to make you worry) and the food was delicious. There's no doubt that it's a pricey restaurant but we thoroughly enjoyed every morsel.

This Lobster risotto was quite the most delicious I have tasted in years, I would put it at the top of the league in Europe. The rest of our dinner was also superb, both the John Dory and the Black Sole were exceptional, hopping fresh, cooked to perfection, in a deceptively simple presentation allowing the true natural flavours emerge. We were enthralled and delighted and plan to return in the near future, Bravo Toddies.

We went for dinner last night for the first time and we were extremely impressed with the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. The lobster risotto and the carpaccio of tuna were to die for and the John Dory was fresh, light and delicious!! It is on the expensive side but it´s totally worth it.

Modern restaurant on the first floor above the Kinsale Brewery, popular with locals, many of whom were obviously friendly with the boss as she spent most of the evening chatting to them. Not a problem in this as her two waiters worked hard enough for all three of them. Having had a big lunch, we didn’t orders starters. Mains were pretty good. A lobster risotto was well cooked with a reasonable amount of seafood but tasted as though there had been no wine used in the cooking (an essential ingredient in our view). A supreme of free range chicken was very good. Good sized portion; very chicken-y taste and crispy skin. It sat on a potato rosti which had been grated too long in advance so the potato had discoloured before it was fried. Then it had gone soggy in the tasty bacon and mushroom sauce. A bowl of veg and baked potato came with it. The baked spud was a clever touch – the flesh had been removed, mashed with garlic and then stuffed back into the crisp potato shell. Nice! Desserts were poor. A banana creme brulee just didn’t taste fresh. And it came with an oatmeal and chocolate chip cookie - which was just an odd addition. A pear, almond and chocolate torte was advertised as being served warm with ice cream. Firstly, it was cold, not warm. Secondly, there was very little pear (and what there was seemed tinned). And thirdly, there was a very “cheap chocolate” flavour. And then the coffee was unpleasantly bitter. A bottle of water and half bottle of wine brought the bill to €78. The restaurant has an outside dining area which would be pleasant in good weather (unfortunately, it chucked it down for us)

The meal was absolutely beautiful. I had the fillet steak and it was sublime. The portions were very filling and the staff were extremely courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend Toddies as long as the price doesn't put you off!

Gorgeous romantic atmosphere, staff really helpful and the food was delicious. I had sea bass; it was beautifully presented. You can go out to the patio balcony area for coffee and dessert and even a cigarette. Pricey but really worth it for a special occasion!
