I have eaten from the bar food menu numerous times and the food has always been very good. It is a lovely place to sit outside on a sunny day. The staff are friendly and it is good value for money

One of my favourite bars of all time, tasty hearty food that has won awards and a wonderful traditional atmosphere. Stay afterwards for live music!

What happened to this place? From last year's experience (very busy, long wait), we booked in advance. We arrived to an empty restaurant at 8:30 on a Bank holiday Sunday. We were the only diners for the night. Didn't have couple of things on the menu. My medium steak was almost well done but it did taste very nice. What kept us there apart from the food being ok, was the extremely friendly, smiling staff.
