Had the most wonderful meal in Crackpots on Friday night. Everything about the place was first class, from the very warm welcome and friendly service, to the great atmosphere, and the terrific food. Beautifully presented, every mouthful was a pleasure. Possibly the best meal out we have ever eaten. In a town renowned for its great food, Crackpots stands out. Kinsale is a long way from Dublin, so we don't get there often - but we are looking forward to our next trip, and Crackpots will definitely be on the plan. Tops marks !!

Thankfully I have eaten out a number of times in the last while and eating here was the best. The food was perfect. I had prawns to start and duck for main. The duck was probably the beast I have evey had. There was a warm atmospher. It is prob not cheep but it is quality food with great attention to detail. I didn't give 5 for service as I think it may of taken a little while to get the bill but other than that we were well looked after. I do hope to go back.

This is a nice restaurant, real local food, great for fish, mussels to die for good size portion and very tasty, its nice to sit out the back with a glass of wine or beer, decor is rustic but nice just like a fishing village restaurant should look like,

After deciding to have a stay at home holiday we hit Kinsale just after the holiday weekend, it was still quite busy so we booked crackpots early in the day as it was full the night before, the menu pinned to the window looked good with plenty to choose from, mussels were definitely on my mind as a starter. On arrival we were shown to quite a small table which was tight for 4 adults, however we ordered some beer and started looking through the menu, the waitress was quick to point out that they had no mussels or lamb as they had a busy weekend,, I thought this was quite unfair not to change the menu in the window if they knew in advance they were out of certain items, still we got on with it and my starter was now crab cakes, the others all ordered different starters and mains, the waitress wasn’t impressed when taking the order because I joked that I would have mussels and lamb,, she walked away and sent another waitress, so no sense of humour then… things went from bad to worse after that, the crab cakes were way over done and when the plates were being taken away one of the group left a used napkin on her plate and was told by the waitress to take it back, she really should have taken it away and gave her a new one, we skipped ordering wine because as usual its over priced, the bill for 4 with 3 beers 1 coke, starters, mains, coffee was €150.00, not sure I would hurry back.

By far the best restaurant in Kinsale! The Duck spring rolls are out of this world. The three fish mains we tried were so delicious. The dessert of Lemon and Ginger drizzle cake was one of the best I've ever had. Top marks!

My husband and I ate here on a night in Kinsale. We had been recommended by the owner of the place we were staying. We weren't disappointed the food was amazing. The best scallops I have ever eaten!! I had goats cheese salad to start followed by the monkfish and scallops. My husband had duck spring rolls followed by the sefood bake. We enjoyed a cheeseboard for dessert which was the only disappointment - I think you should be able to choose which cheese you want but here they just give you 3 cheeses. We drank 2 bottles of red - oops! The bill only came to 120. Not bad. Service was a bit confused....

Bin here a few times before, Stingy portion of mussels - probaly cost them 5 cents but they charged 10 euros or so. Ribeye stringy and overcooked, bossy service and expensive. And yet it seems to busy most of the time. A mystery or what?

The only problem with the restaurant is that it is SO good that I ate too much! Everything from the bread to the desert was amazing. I went with a group of 17 girls and still the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant. If you are in kinsale it is a must

Lovely restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices makes for a very pleasant experience. Portions aren't huge (especially the veg) but the flavour makes up for it.
