Probably the slowest service I ahve ever encountered in a restaurant.. but the food was honestly wortht the wait! 12 of us walked out to the Bulman from Kinsale, and sat out in the sun having a bite to eat in the sun, and it was just gorgeous. Beautiful of Kinsale! They have tables outside, and the sun was shining. Between us we had the mussels, lobster, fish & chips, and a few portions of the seafood chowder... and they were all absolutely delicicious! So fresh! Staff could have been friendlier though - they DO NOT handle pressure well! :(

Had a pub meal here on Saturday evening it was lovely. I had haddock in batter with chips, so fresh it was practically still swimming ! The pub was very busy and had a great atmosphere. There was a big group of us and it was a little complicated to get food service with a waitress who was far from nice, I will give her the benefit of the doubt as all other staff were very helpful, so maybe she was haivng a bad day which was very busy. The meal was also very good value at €9.50

Restaurant was extremely quite on night we visited. Staff were very accommodating and let us eat in the bar which was great as there was live music. Starter was a little bit disappointing but the main course was excellent. Staff were very friendly and service was very good. Would definately go back.

Had a quick lunch in the bar here one Tuesday afternoon. Between us we had the chowder, goats cheese salad and a portion of chips. Chowder and chips all lovely, salad didn't really work for me. Would definitely come here again, nice little spot.

I love the Bulman!! Great for a sunny day sitting out on the wall with a drink after some delicious food or on a rainy day/night with the fire blazing inside and friendly service. I would recommend any seafood in the Bulman, it is so fresh and tasty. We try to go as often as we can.

Being a regular visitor to Kinsale, we went to The Bulman for dinner recently having heard it was under new managership. We have eaten there in the past because we enjoyed the bar and views are so wow but food and service in bar left a lot to be desired ( I'm being extremely polite here) . It's obviously been cleaned up outside and in. Fab colours outside. So light. We had a table with great views.Had good fun wiith the staff. Very attentive but not in your face. They seem to enjoy their job which must be a good sign. The food was delicious. We both had starters and mains. Couldn't fit in dessie, but we did have a lovely bottle of house wine which was very very good. And priced under Euro 25.00 how bad?? We cann't wait to go back.

Went out with a large group, the table that we were at was a bit uncomfortable. You were stretching to the table, food was good but portions were quite small. Service was very good and friendly but the place lacked atmosphere. The Bullman beer was quite nice and the view is excellent. The wines were quite nice but I would like to try another restaurant in Kinsale.

Went here for Easter Sunday lunch - 3 adults and a 9 year old. I couldn't fault anything - except the chocolate rice pudding. The staff were wonderful, helpful and very friendly, the food was great, the view was fabulous, the wine by the glass was divine and the value was superb. €113 for 3 adult 3 course meals, and 1 childs 3 course meal, plus 2 glass of wine and coffees. The room and atmosphere were just lovely. My 9 year old nephew kept running up and down the stairs to the bar check the rugby score for us. Kinsale is always beautiful but I'll definetely frequent the Bulman more often.

Having heard a lot of reviews about the Bulman Restaurant, a group who dine out regularly, decided to make it our choice for a night out! What a disappointment! The meal in general was good, the soup and seafood chowder was excellent, served piping hot with a lovely flavour. The three steaks ordered were very good, well cooked and good value for money. However two sea food dishes selected were very disappointing, the portion of Sea Trout was very small and poor value for money. I selected the Bulman Seafood Speciality. this dish completely lacked flavour, the sauce was greasy and I was unable to eat it. The service left a lot to be desired, the resturant was not very busy and no waitress made any enquiry regarding our satisfaction with the meal. As the dishes were being removed from the table I politely stated that my food was not "nice", her casual response was " did anybody not come to you". I replied no. There was no apology offered or no further reference made to my dissatisfaction with the meal. We ordered coffee, paid the bill in full, without leaving a service tip and left shortely afterwards. I certainly will not be recommonding the Bulman Resturant but I will be cautioning anybody intending to dine there.

A large group who dine out on regular occasions had booked this restaurant for a Friday night. On arrival the welcome was well below par and it almost seemed as if we were an intrusion and not a welcomed guest. The table we were shown to was a very large glass topped monster not suited to any atmosphere. We asked to be moved from this. The meal was in general very good. The menu choice on the night was very limited and the ladies serving were of the "non smiling" and "I don't want to be serving you" type. One of our party ordered a seafood plate marked as their speciality. This ended I hope in the bin where it deserved to be. It was bland and offered no substance by way of contents. All bones for presentation. No one came to our table to check on our progress through the meal. As the plates were removed it was obvious that one was not touched. All the lady serving said was did no one call to your table when my friend explained very politely that her meal could not be eaten as it was bland, greasy and could not be flavoured in any way. We left soon after not leaving any service tip except a cube of their sugar to hopefully sweeten a very sour staff and a very sour taste in our mouths at the expensive bad treatment we had received. Needless to say we will not be returning and we will make certain that any of our many aquaintances will not be put through the same dreadful experience.

Great spot for an evening out. The bar down stairs has a lovely atmosphere and a great place for a drink before (and after!) dinner. The early bird is great value and orders are taken up to 7pm. Good selection of seafood on the menu.
