Last Wednesday night we went to dine in the Old Bakery to mark the end of our holiday in Castletownbere. We were a party of three adults and one child (seven years of age). On our arrival there were three other tables occupied however on our departure the restaurant was filling up. I chose fish cakes for my starter and my sister had the mushrooms which were the nicest she has ever tasted. For our mains I chose the cod, my sister the curry, my mum the lasagna and my nephew the half portion of the lasagna all were excellent and my nephew cleared his plate a complement to the chef. He was delighted over the attention given to him by the friendly waitress. We paid £97 euros for our meal which we thought excellent value for 2 starters, 3 mains and a child portion, 4 deserts and a half bottle of wine. Would highly recommend this restaurant for its food, service and atmosphere.

I had an excellent entree, succulent crab salad. My main course, chicken. I found the portion of chicken tough. My friends main course, plaice, fresh, very moist, delicious, but very small portion, our selection of fresh vegetables perfectly cooked, her dessert of brown bread ice cream, a good helping it was delicious.
