Had a fabulous meal here. Had no booking and was almost full but took us in as we said we would not be that long. We had our 2 children with us. We went for the specials menu and I had the apple and goats cheese salad with honeyed pecan nuts, it was amazing. There was so many good things to choose from on the specials menu, it was hard to decide what to have. I had duck for my main course and it did not disappoint. They made 2 proper dinners for the kids with roast chicken and mash potato with separate veg, even though this was not on the menu. Great place to eat, but as we dined at 6.30, this was the reason we got a table. About 10 couples came in after and were refused a table as they were booked out. If you would like to eat here, book well in advance. We tried to book for the next night but they were booked out.

I had heard a lot of good things about O'Connors and as we were celebrating we decided to try it. The staff were very friendly from the outset and our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and how each dish was cooked. We had a huge range of specials to choose from which made it quite hard to choose. I had asparagus to start which was cooked perfectly. It was served with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The portion was huge so I halved it with my other half (who was saving himself for the main course!!). For mains we had turbet served with cous cous and and Bantry Bay Prawns and more than plenty veg and potatoes - their home made chips were the best we have had anywhere for many years - big, crispy and hot. We had planned on having dessert but we really were too full so had an Irish Coffee to finish off which were very good and made without the cream mixing with the coffee (a skill in itself). It was a little pricey so you wouldn't be going every week. The only negative about the evening was that the tables (for 2) were really close together and we were put sitting next to another couple. Both tables were aware that we could hear each others conversations and we were glad that the other couple finished and left before our main course arrived.

Had lunch here recently. Had the Mussels in Garlic breadcrumbs to start. The were so tastey. Really, really lovely. had the open crab sandwich to follow. Wasn't as good but was ok. There was certainly enough there anyway. Restaurant was comfortable but was a little "snug" .I had my little one with me and they were very accommodating. Overall, it was nice and I would go back if only for the mussels!!!

We went to this restaurant for our christmas work dinner. I have eaten here on a number of occasions in the past and it never disappoints. Although I am a vegetarian, I still love to eat here. They usually only have one vegetarian dish on the menu on any given night but it is always a different one each time and has always been delicious. The desserts are yummy too! Portions are more than sufficient as the food tends to be on the rich side. Looking forward to my next visit!!

Had a wonderful meal in O'Connors last Saturday. We were celebrating, and I'd booked it through menu pages requesting a quiet corner. On arrival we were led to the booth at the back, and made feel very welcome from start to finish. We ordered some champagne, and they brought a dish of strawberries and cream to go with it which was a nice touch. The meal itself was just amazing, chowder to start and then lobster for me, was my first time having it but won't be the last! Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend

Had fish and chips for lunch and what appeared to be home made split pea mushy peas - if you see what I mean. However this surpassed my previous best fish and chips which I had in that pub in Union Hall. Big chunk of fresh fish with light crispy batter and a small portion of chips (small = good in this case). Have eaten here before in the evening - a bit average, overcooked meat (not uncommon in Ireland) and, as ever, very expensive moderately drinkable wine. Still, currently my fave restaurant in the County - in spite of getting an 'award'.

i stayed in Bantry for a few nights and ended up eating here every night! the early bird menu, (with steak!) was such good value. As was the 20% of wine! It was to good an opportunity, to eat great food, to miss! i would definatley recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Bantry.

I absolutely LOVE O'Connor's! Their mussles are gorgeous! I have been a few times and get them different each time, delicious! Last time there I decided to go for something different and got the rack or lamb, normally I only order seafood in a seafood restaurant, which I already know O'Connors do great, but the lamb was possibly the best I have ever had

My favourite restaurant ever. I go there all the time & if anyone asks for a reccomendation thats where I send them! Its one of the things that makes me glad to live in West Cork. The food never ever lets me down. Everything is always cooked to perfection & their veggies change with the seasons, which I love. There side dishes are always done so carefully which I always think is a sign of a great restaurant! The only thing is my boyfriend does not like going there because of the staff, he feels they are cold. I am in between minds. There are two waiters who are usually there I always find helpful & friendly but I do agree the atmosphere isnt great. Dont let that put you off though, the food makes it all worth while!!!

The food is just fantastic in this place, have been several times and the quality is consistently great. Atmostphere is great as the place is always packed. Downside is the service, waiters are just so stiff and cold. They don't talk much, no banter or chat, just simply serve the food and move. This might suit some people but a few smiles would do the place great !!

Had the pleasure of dining at O'Connors last weekend with my boyfriend. We are both big lovers of fresh seafood and had heard this was THE place for delicious fish. The rumours were all true! what a feast! mussels & prawns were our chosen starters. Both were cooked to perfection and mouth-wateringly good. As for main course, despite the appeal of the main menu,we opted for the specials. I have never seen such a list of specials, full to burst with amazing sea-food options. My boyfriend opted for the monkfish & prawn risotto while I chose John dory with creamy leeks. Both of these dishes were fantastic, every bite a dream! And they came with delicious potato gratin, chips and vegetables. The serving staff were more than willing to offer us more of anything we needed. This restaurant is first rate and I would highly recommend it.

I went to O'Connors a while back (not sure of exact date) with my wife and I had a fantastic seafood chowder (Had a little lobster in it) for starter and Black Sole for main course. Both were great. The only downside was the confusion of the opening hours. After checking the website we saw that it was open until 10pm. We got there at 9:30 and were told it was closed. After telling the waitress that I drove from Cork and that the website had different hours, her reply was "I Said we're closed". Service wasn't great but food made up for it.
