Had done a cookery course here before and wanted to come back for a meal with my husband. The place was buzzing when we arrived but we didn't get a great table, it was near the door. For starters i had Mackeral and partner had salad with blue cheese. both very nice. Main courses were Monkfish in a lovely broth type sauce, and the other one was Duck with pig cheek which was delicious. We skipped dessert as we were full enough. We had a lovely bottle of white wine, the name I cannot remember. It was a lovely meal and we will be back again.

Recommended by one of the local restaurants which was closed that evening, the Good Things Cafe, was a very relaxed and friendly spot, one which we will definetely revisit. If you like chowder, the fish soup will blow you away. Miss it at your peril! This place is one for those who love a good choice in vegetarian options and those who are happy with fish and flesh too.

This is quite awful... I heard alot about the good things cafe and was brought here by friends of the owner, was really looking forward to tasty organic food like I was told by many people and as the restaurant advertises also... But when I got my organic ham and salad samdwich I was very disappointed.. It was just plain white bread with ham and some lettuce leaves! There was no butter or pickle served with it and it was just awfully dry......... My friends who came with me had fried eggs with ham and toast and the pizza but also the eggs and ham where very dry with poor seasoning. The pizza was alright, the doe was nice and fluffy but the topping was on the small side! I really wouldn't recommend this place now that i have encountered it by myself.

Wow- from the time we walked up the herb lined path to the restaurant we knew we were in for a treat. This is also a cookery school so we expected high standards but the food experience exceeded all our expectations. The lunch menu was short but it was difficult to choose from the excellent menu. Two glasses of house white (excellent!) and a glance at other tables and the food being served and we made our choices. I had the broccoli/blue cheese/anchovy tart and my dining partner had the fresh filleted mackerel with gooseberry sauce. Both were fresh tasting and sparkled the taste buds. With two coffees the bill wasn't cheap but well worth it. The atmosphere and service was excellent and we will return- perhaps to do a cookery course and find out how they do it
