Visited the Ho Kee today with my partner as its located in the lovely west cork town of Bandon where she is originally from. After deciding that we'd stay in Bandon for food, we were contemplating on what we should have (We only eat out twice a week so we always try to decide somewhere new / different each night) and decided that we were going to have Chinese and eventually decided on the Ho Kee. My partner had called up the restaurant last night to enquire whether they had an early bird or "high tea" menu, and was told on the telephone that they had an early bird set menu for €14.90 which includes four courses (Starter, Main, Dessert & Tea/ Coffee), at this stage I thought she had misinterpreted the information or something, or at least a spelling error! We arrived in Bandon and parked in the shopping centre car park as it was a lovely evening today and we walked to the Ho Kee. On entering the restaurant, you have to enter through the take away area, which the impression you get, to be very honest isn't great but as soon as you enter the restaurant in the back, you're blown away. Nicely decorated, nice soft music in the background and greeted by two lovely staff members who couldn't have been more accommodating to say the least. Service here is very fast, and very efficient. Not once did we feel that we had to ask for anything, or did we have to complain about anything. The two girls serving we're extremely helpful and couldnt have tried to be of any more assistance. Once the menu arrived, yep indeed my partner hadn't made a mistake or the information wasn't miscommunicated, the menu's price was as stated €14.90 for 4 courses. BY FAR the best and most reasonable early bird menu I have seen anywhere to date. Our orders were taken quickly and shortly after our starters arrived without any delay. The food here is absolutely divine, tasty and sumptuous! Nothing more can be said, portion sizes aren't small but they arent so big that you cant finish your meal!

I got an order of take away here that Friday. It was so quick for them to finish it. All the food I ordered was great, tasted different of other Chinese restaurant which I went before, but we were still enjoy it. I think I will come back when I get the chance.

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat last Sunday evening, haven't had sit down in ages here, usually take away. Was very surprised at how quiet it was for a Sunday evening. Ordered the won ton soup, which was lovely, nicely flavoured and plenty of won tons! My friends had prawn cocktail and cream of chicken soup, a very large bowl of it with plenty of bread & butter, very Irish! Two of us order sirloin steaks, med-rare, unfortunately we got well done, tough steaks, not how we ordered at all. The pepper sauce was very thick, with what appeared to be chopped chillies in it? Served with mushrooms, onions & chips. Most dishes are nice here, obviously steak isn't a speciality though! Service was good, friendly and fast and they also offer an early bird menu of 3 courses plus tea/coffee for €12.90!
