Munchies is perhaps the most welcoming cafe that I know of. You are garunteed to be greeted with a warm and genuine smile from the staff. Food, be it breakfast, tea and a scone or warm lunch meals, is delicious and extremely good value. Lovely atmosphere although the close proximity can be a bit uncomfortable at times. Also, another interesting point of note is the recent policy of hanging contemporary art works by local artists which can then be purchased if desired.

I only ever call in with the children for tea-and-a-bun, so I can't speak for meals, exactly, but the welcome is the warmest in town: nothing is too much trouble, even when we've scraped in five minutes before the stated closing time. The room is nowhere near as bright as the hospitality, but if Munchies keeps succeeding, perhaps it will find a new home (on the redeveloped mart site?), and continue to provide an independent, locally owned option for a bite to eat in Fermoy.

You can get things on the menu here that you won't find any where else in Fermoy but other than that the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is ok. The only thing that stops me from going in is that I am not familiar with the menu and have to look at the menu board which is situated straight next to a table where people are sitting so I never end up getting what I want. I also find their prices slightly high for the food quality.
