I arrived in youghal on the 5th may 09 for a walk on the lovely beach , after our walk we decided to go into Tides for a warming bowl of chowder ,sadly this was not the case , If tides restruant call a large steaming bowl of cream with two mussles and two frozen prawns in it a chowder, well i think i have said enough . Needless to say the car park was empty and they know how to charge for food too. Have to say will not be goin back , pity because Youghal is such a nice town.

This is East Cork's Best Kept Secret.I took a group of Clients here lat night. Was very impressive, from the origional meeting with the owner / manager it was very professional.I got exactly what I was looking for,-"Somewhere to impress important clients in an exceptionally designed atmosphere, a truely beautiful dining room". I was recomended by a friend and I will definately be back. The food, variety choice and presentation was escellent. I will definately be back and I would highly recomend this venue. Tides is one to watch out for."Keep up the Good Work."

Overall I found Tides to be a truely pleasant experience. The place is designed to a very high standard. I would consider their dining room to be the nicest in East Cork. Intimate yet relaxed. Excellent choice and variety on the menu. Great value set dinner menu for only €32.00. First Class!!!! I eat there alot and have always found if very good. The bar food is also excellent, offering a more casual dining experience. In general I would highly recommend a visit to Tides for any occasion.

Took a trip to Youghal for mothers day on the recommendation that this restaurant was exceptional, however to my horror this was not the case. First of all we had to wait over fifteen minutes to be seated when we were not presented with Menu's for another 20-30 mins. Our drink order had not been taken as yet and we had to wait another 20 mins before our order was taken, following this we received our starter after half an hour at which point we noticed the table had not been set with cutlery or serviettes and we had to ask twice for same at which point our starters were cold. Our drinks order eventually came, however we were still awaiting our main course which took a further 40 mins to arrive however yet again we had no cutlery and were waiting over 10 mins for same only to realise our main course was cold at this point and we made a decision to leave. We received no apology and were insulted when we were presented with the bill for most of the meal when all we actually had was cold soup and non existent garlic mushrooms. To say that we were disappointed was an understatement and besides the lack of service the premises needed a thorough cleaning, needless to say we will not be attending again.

This place was once one of the best restaurants around. Sadly not the case any more. Food is terrible especially for the prices they charge and overall the place is quite dirty!
