I visited the Old Thatch on the off chance when I was traveling from Cork, its warm and "old school" atmosphere was very nice and pleasant, the service was great and friendly and the food was so tasty and really good value. It filled me up for my long journey home!. I would definitely recommend anybody to pop in as it was a great all round experience.

Stopped in for something on a Friday afternoon with a group, the food is pub grub with a good choice and good standard, the service helpful and friendly and it was busy for 4pm on a Friday afternoon, nice place I'd go back.

My partner and I have eaten here a number of times now and it has been consistently good. The service is very good and they are accomodating. Nice place for Sunday lunch or evening bite to eat during the week. Recommend

There has been a major improvement in this place in the last few months. The atmosphere is always good, always nice locals and bar staff. The food is very good. The menu has some lovely choices. I got sea bass, it was lovely, the veg was nicely cooked and the portions where more than enough. Overall good meal.

The outside of the place initially caught my attention, or more so the attention of my aunt and uncle who were visiting from the states, we popped in for a bite to eat during a drive to Yaughal and were all pleasantly surprised with the Thatch, the interior is lovely and cosy and the food was really top notch, I suppose it fits into the "gastropub" kind of category. The chowder was excellent. 3 of us had the chicken, steak and the burger, all huge portions and couldnt be faulted. Staff were really good and my aunt and uncle loved the place. Well recommended.

dropped in for light lunch enroute to Cork. We were attracted by it's exterior and decided to try out the food. we had the paninis & soup. Standard pub food, good portion. Nothing to shout about but was overall was a nice quick meal .
