I visited Trade Winds for an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. We had booked online through menupages and we were delighted with the table they had ready for us. We were seated at the window with a lovely seaview. The menu was superb with lots of fish options. I had the seafood platter which was delicious and my partner had the steak. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and the place was packed for a Saturday night. The chef came out to chat to us after our meal to see if we had enjoyed our food. She was very welcoming and offered lots of advice about local pubs and attractions in the area. All in all we had a wonderful experience and we couldn't recommend this restaurant more.

Warm friendly staff - we were a group of 17- all well looked after - service excellent portions were decent, set christmas menu was €45-00 perhaps it should have included a soup course to make it better value - €45 for three courses was we felt slightly on the high side, nevertheless we all enjoyed it and will return. Atmosphere and food are excellent highly recommended

This is a gem of a restaurant. I have eaten here lots of times, the prices charged for the bar food are extremely reasonable. It is the difference of being able to afford a beautiful meal out and not. There is nothing I can say to fault this restaurant, nor the food, nor the staff. They have a restaurant upstairs which is as equally good. Best to go for the bar food early as it gets pretty full.

Had the bar food menu served in the main restaurtant and it was excellent in quality and value. €60 bought us 2 starters, 2 main courses and a bottle of wine. Definitely will eat here again.

I have visited this restaurant on more than one occasion at both lunch time and evening and have always found the staff friendly & willing to help with any special food requirements (my friend is a coeliac). We chose the barfood menu and were extremely happy, it looked and tasted great. Our waiter was attentive and we found the menu offers great value for money in a friendly atmosphere. I look forward to returning to try the restaurant menu next time.

Visited Cobh after touring all round Ireland (We were on holiday from Scotland) and have eaten in many places on our tour but this was definitely the best of a lot of good food, from the seafood chowder and lemon goujons to the pavlova and fresh fruit. We ate here 4 nights in a row because of the staff, the atmosphere but most of all the food. The Bar staff and waiting staff were friendly and helpful but the food was the best bit, quality food at a fair price on both the Bar and Restaurant menus. There was nothing to fault (other than probably putting on a couple of pounds in weight) I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a GOOD meal. I wish we had something like this place at home, I can’t praise it enough.

Pleasantly surprised with our find in Cobh last weekend. Trade Winds was recommended by our hotel as they had no tables available and we arrived 20 mins after the booking was made. We had my parents and slightly off 1.5 year old in tow and I cannot say enough about the service we received. The dining room was really cosy, menu had lots of choice but the service was what really stood out. I don't know the name of our host but she was just fabulous. Made a total fuss of my daughter (which cheered her up no end!) and bent over backwards to ensure we had a good meal. My Dad and I both had the steak which was beautifully cooked, my mum the plaice & salmon and hubbie the chicken and none were disappointed. Only problem was we were too full for dessert!!! Will be back for sure...

We operate a passenger boat service from Cork Harbour running deep sea angling, scenic pleasure cruises of Cork Harbour and dolphin watching trips. We also cater for corporate group outings. I send most of my customers to the Trade Winds for meals after or during their trip. Some of my groups eat here on 6 or 7 nights of their stay. All my customers rave about the quality of the food, the cosy atmosphere, and the friendly and excellent service they receive from Sandra and her staff. All have been really impressed with the presentation, the quality & quantity of food served and most importantly the value for money they receive. They also really enjoy a few drinks after their meal in the cosy bar downstairs. The Trade Winds also serves up and excellent bar food menu at very reasonable prices. Thanks to the Trade Winds we have received several repeat bookings from a lot of very satisfied customers. We cannot recommend this establishment highly enough!

myself and my wife ate in trade winds last saturday. we were greeted by a very well presented bar man, who made us feel very welcome. he served us our two drinks and gave us the menu to brouse over, i was amazed by the choice on the menu. martian (our bar man) was able to help us with our choice of food and also suggested a wine for our meal. he asked the waitress Jacquie to take our order. a short time later we were taken to our table. our wine was persented to us and poured. then our starters arrived. i had kangroo wich was wonderful, my wife had goats cheese. for my main course i had a seafood platter which was way above my expertations, the choice of seafood was outstanding, my wife had the monkfish which was perfectly cooked ( i tasted it ). we finished off our meal with a cheese board and two glasses of vintage port. all i can say from start to finish trade winds was just perfect and we will most certinaly be back.
