Athmosphere is a bit quite, but ideal for a quite and romantic night out. Tables are generously spaced apart. Food and menu is of very high standard with good service. If you want high standard food and a quite athmosphere then look no further. Reccommend the duck and steak. Dessert was only let down. Bread and butter pudding - but was plain and unexciting. Starters and mains are fantastic - deserts could be updated.

Possibly the best early bird I've ever had. Food is divine and service is great. It's the kind of restaurant that makes you feel welcome and your custom appreciated. I had the chicken and my partner had the lamb, both exquisite! I'd reccommend it to anyone.

This is my favourite restaurant... Food is wonderful with a extensive starter choice from soup, goats cheese, homemade spring roll, scallops, I could go on.. Mains range from rack of lamb, duck(which is to die for) steak, and 4/5 fish dishes. Wine menu is concise but you will find something to wet your palate here. Staff are excellent, your table is yours for the evening no rushing out for a second sitting... Overall a fantastic restaurant, friendly and service with a smile. 5* ++

This restaurant is by far my favourite. The food here is amazing, I go there as often as I possibly can. It is a bit pricey so I usually go for the early bird which is absolutely fantastic value-€25 for 3 courses of the freshest, in season, beautifully cooked food. The menu changes pretty frequently and you're guaranteed to find something you'll love. The service is wonderful and the owner will do anything he can to help. Overall, a brilliant restaurant well worth a visit. Also, try the steak-it will definitely be the best you ever have..

O'Donovan's is a great choice for dining in Midleton and this was my third visit. The premises was originally a pub but has become a restaurant in recent years. The standard of the food is very good indeed. I wanted to try most of the items on the menu so choosing was really difficult. In the end we plumped for Scallops with Pea Puree and a Salad of Toulouse Sausage and Roasted Butternut Squash, followed by Halibut with Parmesan and Spinach Crust and Roast Cod. Vegetables are served on the side. We had Duchesse Potatoes (a blast from the past but perfectly executed and rich with butter and seasonsing), Sea Kale and Champ. Everything was really good and all the fish locally sourced. Desserts are equally delicious and homemade. The winelist is concise but with plenty of choice and decent prices. The service is friendly, warm and engaging. The owners are delightful. All-in-all a great place to dine in Midleton.

Have not been here for a while and I see that the interior has been refreshed. The menu is varied with duck, chicken, pork, fish and steak on the menu. Service is excellent as one would expect in a family run restaurant and the wine list is extensive. The scallops with black pudding was an excellent well considered dish and they offer it both as a starter and main course. The duck breast of duck was delivered to the next table and looked good and I heard murmurs of approval. I had the rack of lamb and it was a perfectly executed dish while my dining partner had the 10 oz sirlion steak which she said was beautifully cooked and tender. There is a good atmosphere and I would recommend this restaurant. I read the early bird menu and for 25 euro (5.00-7.30) it looked like superb value. We will retuurn!

We go here regularly, the food is always good and from fresh local ingredients. Atmosphere is great at the weekends but can be a little quiet during the week. When the room isn't full it can be a little cold. Still hard to fault and the staff are lovely

This is becoming a regular haunt. Absolutely gorgeous food. The last time we were with a party of ten and the service was great - we all dined together, perfect timing for each dish. Great value considering the quality and taste of the food. Will certainly go back. The owner seems to know or remember everybody that enters the place. It's almost a secret gem of east cork!

We go here on special occasions. Last time was Valentines Day. Now unlike other restaurants where you are often rushed on such an occasion, here you are treated well. The menu was perfect, well priced and well served. Wine can bump up your bill (as it can anywhere) but the choices always compliment the meal perfectly. Service is not overbearing, friendly atmosphere with lots of space & comfort and a welcoming host.

This is my favourite restaurant, I go here every year for my birthday!! Want to keep it special so don't go any other time!! Food is out of this world and staff are very very helpful. I or any of my party have never gotten a bad meal. There is something missing in the atmosphere though, maybe needs to darken lights a bit or something but everything else makes up for it..

The food is good. Good fresh ingredients. Nothing spectacular done with them however. This restaurant is over-priced and over-rated.

This restaurant does good job of cooking simple food beautifully. No fancy, out there dishes, but good, honest, back to basics food, Its a comfortable little place and very relaxed. I really enjoyed the food I had when I went there and would definitely go back.
