The restaurant is tiny and up steep stairs so access is awkward. Not child friendly as no childs menu or high chairs. That said the food was good and the service was above average - to the point that the staff allowed us to purchase chicken nuggets from chipper down the road for the children to enjoy. Main gripe is that the prices weren't as advertised on this page around E3 extra per dish for mains.

Have visited here a few times, with a small and big group and I must say that this place is great. The interior could do with a bit of a doing up, but other than that its great. Friendly staff, efficiant and fast service and great food! And the "Big fish" that have been there for years, still there and still great to look at when exiting down the stairs. All in all, great place to eat. Highly recommended ! :) - Patrick

After sampling dishes from the plethora of Chinese restaurants available in Douglas and Cork city, Chans is the one place that comes up trumps every time and has been a firm favourite in my family for years. while the restaurant is lovely and cosy with its large fish tank it is usually quite empty, which is a pity as the staff are friendly and helpful-without bing 'in-your-face' and the food is simply delicious. I hope to see more customers in the restaurant in future

The chicken satay here is great and its cheap and cheerful. In terms of the surroundings, personally i wouldn't like to sit in because it doesn't seem to be that busy for sit in meals and would lack atmosphere.
