We Have been here a few times - by staying overnight and just for a special night out. The atmosphere is ok, it could be a little better. The tables down the side wall are to close to each other which I don't like. It was the early bird menu that we had and we always found it very tasty & good value. There can be a cold draft in the door and down the stairs, so if you have a table down the side wall your food can get cold very fast. The service can be a bit hit & miss -but the staff are friendly. It is a nice hotel to eat at and to stay overnight for a special treat. Good ****

Lovely restaurant, very comfy seating and lots of space so the tables are not all up on top of each other. Seemed very understaffed though, and it remained like that throughout the entire weekend of my stay at this hotel. The food, while delicious, and drinks, took ages to be served up and their treatment of 'residents' left a lot to be desired. Our table of 10 were all served at different times, so while some were finishing their main courses, others hadn't even been served yet. Such a shame for an otherwise good location.

i stayed here for another weekend and had the set menu. the starter was lovely (goats cheese), the desert was nice, but the selection on the main courses was very plain. We had a nicer selection the last time.

I have been to the Watermarq a number of times but this visit stood out. Everything about the restaurant was excellent from the booking to the seating, the atmosphere and the food and the value for money. Would certainly recommend the lamb.
