We had a salad to start, it was very poor and no imagination.. but the special that day was the cod with garlic mash and it was a long time since I had a nicer, fresher, tastier fish, my husband had the beef burger and he was extremely pleased with it... the service was so slow that we decided to have no desert or coffee.

Service was unbelievably slow even though restaurant was not full. Choice of dishes was limited tho dinner was included in our package so maybe the other menu might have been better. The main course lacked any potatoes or proper veg and we were very unimpressed. Certianly wouldnt reccommend it, many other beautiful restaurants in cork. My advice would be to stay in the Hotel as its fabulous but avoid the restaurant!

Stayed in this hotel last weekend and although the stay was lovely the food in it's restaurant was anything but. There wasn't a lot of choice on the menu so we went for the steak & chicken. The steak was hard to chew but the chicken was okay. We both had a pate starter but were not impressed - it came with 4 tiny circular pieces of toast and a small salad with no dressing. The service was very very slow and the restaurant was only a quater full. The staff at the morning service were great though but the breakfast sausages weren't nice.

Stayed in Jurys for the weekend and had one dinner as part of the package. The menu was really nice, the food was great and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Could not fault it in any way. Would definately eat there again and will stay in Jurys next time I'm in Cork. Overall a great experience.

Went to the Weir Restaurant at 6.30pm, on 12th Feb with my husband, father in law and 2 1/2 year old child. We got a great welcome from the staff and given a lovely table overlooking the river. There was a set menu for €40 which included a glass of champagne, [valentine's weekend] The food was fab, a good choice and perfectly cooked. Our waitress was very helpful and not too intrusive. Would highly recommend to familes and couples after this experience.

We styated in Jurys at the weekend and decided to try the Weir Bar menu. It was a niuce menu and most of the main dishes were less than 14 euro - good for a four star hotel. The steak ciabatta and the tuna burger were particularly good. Very handy place to eat if you are staying in the hotel plus you get free parking

Lovely atmosphere, expensive taste. Went to the bistro for lunch, and was impressed by the luxurious surroundings and comfy chairs. The menu is well planned and offers a great choice. Lunch for two totalled ~€40, and included two burgers/chips, tea abd tip. I was expecting a great burger for this price, but was dissapointed, although the side sauces that accompanied the meal were good and different. I would go back here, but will try something less expensive, especially for lunch!

While staying at the fantastic Jury's 4* recently we dined at the lovely Weir Bistro. We were seated at a window table with a lovey view of the Lee waters just outside. The bistro menu offers a nice selection but as we were heading out in the city right afterwards we plumped for the Weir Burger. It was a mildly herb flavoured meat patty, almost cumberland to the taste. It came in a lovely bun with chunky chips and a choice of three dips, one being guacamole. To wash it down I had a diet coke. The burger was delicious, very different from those on offer at city centre fast food bars. And the large square cut chips were an ideal accompaniment. All in all the Weir Bistro was a delightful dining experience, I'd gladly go back again.

Planned to eat here on Easter Saturday but told they were booked out. Good omen? Hmmm. Went Sunday instead. Booked table for 7.30, order taken and bread & wine brought promptly. Given an 'amuse bouche' we hadn't ordered at 8.10. Order of rare t-bone steak and medium rib-eye steak arrived at 8.20. Rib eye was rare. T-bone cooked beyond recognition - grey, dried out & inedible (should have been rare?). Waited another 10 mins for the sauces. Then when they arrived the waitress offered to 'heat up' the plates. Words fail me! We were staying there too and just to add insult to injury breakfast next morning was 15mins late and cold!

After some confusion between Hotels we eventually managed to stay in Jury's Doyle in Cork for the weekend. We decided to give the Hotel Restaurant a try on the Saturday. It was surprisingly good, we had a platter of Parma ham, rocket, parmesan, mozzarella olives and bread to start – one between two is more than ample fro a nice starter. Staying on the theme of one plate between two, we had the chateaubriand fillet steak served with Onion Rings, Flat Cap Mushroom, Confit Tomatoes. No desert and with a bottle of red the bill came to €90 which I though was reasonable value for a good meal.

Went there for lunch with a group of 5 at 1 pm. Orders taken almost immediately. They didn't have enough menus so had to share two menus between us. Food arrived at 1.50 and was lukewarm. Presentation of food was lovely but not hot enough. Didn't enjoy it as had to leave again at 2 pm.

Stayed in Jury's Cork for the weekend, ate out in the city on the Friday night and decided to give the Hotel Restaurant a try on the Saturday! The Smoked chicken was great and I had the prawn starter - after that I headed into the bar & had a great night!!

Popped in here for some dinner last month while down in Cork. Really enjoyed the surf and turf. Staff were very friendly.

We ordered steaks and it was unprofessionally cooked. Very disappointed.
